Welcome in your postgame show. This is Clipper Stock. I'm Adam Auslin. If you'd like to get on eight six six ninety seven two five seventy eight six sixty ninety eight seven two five seventy coming up

looking for postgame audio from the head coach and the players. After Clippers lose two straight going back to Wednesday night against the Golden State Warriors, two straight games without Paul George or Kawhi Leonard or Luke Kennard. And when the opposition has their two best players, even without Michael Porter Junior tonight, you gotta have a bad time. Jamal Murray had twenty one points. Yokis only had

nineteen, but that's all they needed because Clipper killer Aaron Gordon. I don't know what it is, you know, I don't know about his rap game, but he's a pretty good basketball player. Twenty nine points, twelve of sixteen, shooting two of four from the outside. And he always shows up big against the Clippers. They're just some of those guys. And it's not

that he's a bad player, but he's extraordinary. He is a star whenever he goes up against the Clippers. He is what some people thought he was gonna be coming out of Arizona, which was kind of a smaller version of Blake Griffin. Maybe. Clippers though, lose by ten and in a game where they missed fifteen free throws, okay, five of them by Moses Brown, let's throw it out. He played five minutes. At the end of the game. It was inconsequential time. Game was out of reach. Clippers

are down twenty, but it still missed ten free throws. John Wall still struggling there, well below his career averages at the charity stripe. Now, he was great at times. Tonight had his Clippers high of twenty three points and twenty four minutes, and he missed an entire year of basketball last season. It's still strange to me because I've seen him put in the work, so it makes me think it's just mental. It's in his head. He's

talked about it. He said, I'm shooting free throws like Shack right now. And while he's been a little bit better on the season, he's shooting sixty percent from the free throw line. He is a career seventy seven percent free throw shooter. He's much better than this. I think he'll return to form shortly. It's going to happen. The downhill attacks there, the quick this is there. Clippers had to within seven, i want to say,

four different times in the second half, and they couldn't break through. They couldn't find a way to get it down to five, get it down to three. Really put some pressure on the Denver Nuggets, who eventually pulled away in the fourth quarter. In a similar fashion to the way the Golden State Warriors did Wednesday night. Sometimes most of the time, talent eventually wins out. I didn't think the Clippers got out worked or there was a problem with

effort. They just don't have the guys right now to take on one of the top teams in the West and take them down. It's gonna take special performances, and overall they just didn't have them. Terrence Man had thirteen of his sixteen points in the first half. I thought he was awesome. And that's a great game for Man, and he's been really good in his last four games now he is averaging twelve points on sixty five percent shooting. He's

been good. That's plenty from him. But you get just six points from Rovitza Zoo Bots, just nine from Reggie Jackson, my player to watch tonight, on just eight shots taken off the bench, Nicholas Batoum. You know, he's not typically there for his scoring unless he wants to go seven h

seven from beyond the arc, which we have seen. It's crazy. He had zero and the Clippers couldn't get out of their own way in the first half because of the turnovers, eleven of them, many of them live ball turnovers leading to eighteen fast break points or transition points from the Denver Nuggets.

They turned those eleven turnovers into eighteen points. That's an absurd number. The defense failed the Clippers because if you shoot fifty four percent from the field, and that was actually fifty four point four percent, that was their season high for field goal percentage in a ball game, you should in that game. Clippers didn't because the turnovers and because of their defense and missing shots of the charity stripe. They don't have much of a margin for air right now.

With the guys that are out, they have to play near perfect basketball against a team like the Denver Nuggets to beat them. They showed glimpses. I thought they fought, like I said, the effort was there, but they're just a little bit out match and teams have been pulling away from them in second halves because of it. You can just see the talent disparity right now without Kawai and Paul George, and I admire the effort from these guys.

I thought Roco was really good. He had twelve points in twenty minutes. Believe he was one of seven against the Warriors Wednesday night, so he found his shot a little bit. He was good at the free throw line six of seven. But Norman Pale didn't have a big game, and he's had a lot of them recently in the last couple of weeks. We've talked about

this on the Clips and Dip pot a lot. But you gotta get two of the three guys in John Wall, Norman Powell, and Reggie Jackson to have big games, at least two of them to have a shot right now. And John Wall had twenty three, but pal just eleven, Reggie Jackson just nine points. If they could have had a little bit more contribution from one of the other guys outside a wall. But look this Clippers team again,

they shot a great percentage from the field. They just didn't get men shots up because of the turnovers, offensive rebounds by the Denver Nuggets get into the charity stripe and not handling their business there. You only shoot twenty two threes, you hit eleven of them, You shot fifty percent from the outside, but they only attempted twenty two of them. So their offense was good.

When they can get out of their own way, when they weren't turning the basketball over, you get to the free throw line for thirty four attempts. That's great. That means you're attacking gott to convert them. Though. Let's start things off here with Sam in Hollywood. Sam, you're on Clippers stock without Amasa. What's up? Pay Adam? Thanks for taking my call and love your show. Great job. I've been a huge fan of the Clippers since nineteen ninety nine. I love what Steve Bomber's doing, and I

love this team. I just really have to wonder listening to all the statistics that you're throwing out. Sounds like the Clippers had a good game and we'd come up short again. And I just see this happened a lot with this team. I gotta ask, I don't know. I don't know about having a good game, Sam, when you have eleven turnovers in the first half. They had their moments, and offensively, I think they were good enough,

but they didn't convert shots of the free throw line. I mean, you look at you look okay, So you had two guys on Denver have twenty points there the MVP only had nineteen, and I mean it wasn't like those numbers don't sound like we should have been blown out. Like we were. I just my question is to you, and then I'll hang up to listen to your answer. Is what is our offensive set? What do we what offense do we run? Because I've been watching this. What offense did

Denver run tonight? What's that? What offenseive Denver run tonight? Oh? Dude, I mean you watch these guys. They're slashing constantly down to the This is even in the door in the bubble. They were doing this when we took them on in the playoffs. They were splashing back, cutting to the to the hoop. We do not even Golden State was doing that to us over and over. The Clipper shot fifty four percent from the field.

If if that's no offense, I don't know what to tell you. They shot fifty four percent from the field and fifty percent from the outside if they've made their free throws, we're talking about a different game. Okay, you can't say they're not attacking when they attempt thirty four free throw Sam, But what is the offense we rout? What do you want to talk about the Princeton offense or the triangle offense? How are you? How do you how would you like to define it? I would say it's more of a motion

amba offense. I'm not exactly Don McClane, but they are adjusting without Kawai and Paul George and Luke Kennard. You realize they're missing their two big guys tonight, right, Sam, one one hundred percent, And I totally understand that. It's just like even when you watch, like you know us in the playoffs, there just seems to be no offensive set when the shots aren't falling, and it's just isoball get yours. I think some people sometimes misinterpret

that though. When shots don't fall, they say, oh, it's because they're not moving the basketball. But when those isolation shot goes, they're spectacular. Look at that great individual play. It's like you can't have it both ways. Like sometimes it is just a or miss league. And the Clippers made their shots when they actually got them up tonight. I don't think that was necessarily the issue. Defensively, they gave up one hundred and fourteen points.

That's more of the problem. Okay, Well, I appreciate taking my call and thanks for everything, all right, Sam, I appreciate it. Eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six six ninety seven two five seventy. I just you want to judge this team right now without Kawai and Paul George going up against the Denver Nuggets team. They were down ten

going into the fourth quarter. Yeah, the Nuggets started to run away with it there, But I don't know what you're expecting when you've had so many different lineups and rotations and starting lineups with this Clippers team early in the season. I thought the effort was great. The execution was lacking at times, but mostly at the free throw line, and second chance points were heavily in favor of the Denver Nuggets with their ten offensive rebounds. So the team is

banged up. They're trying to figure it out on the fly. And if you want to know the offense, that they run drive, kick swing, that's the philosophy. They do enough of it in this game, probably not. They weren't close to perfect, but they shot fifty four percent from the field. That's a great number. That's their highest field goal percentage on the

season. And they lose by ten points of the Denver Nuggets. I'm I'm looking at the defense and the turnovers and the misfree throws more than I'm worried about the Clippers getting good looks on a night where they shoot fifty percent from the three point line and fifty four percent from the field. That's just me

though, eight six nine eight seven two five seventy coming back. We're looking for well top level analysis, as in coach Lou the Master, the chiropractor, as Noay Eagle calls them, the guy making the adjustments, trying to figure things out and try to put guys in a position to be successful. Right now, when the Clippers are under man shorthanded, they lose one fourteen to one oh four to the Denver Nuggets in downtown Los Angeles, I'm Adams

on this is Clippers stock. You're on a M five seventy on sports, dirty sided, dirty hang, y'all real. I've been watching the prayer LA Clippers basketball to Clipper puts it down plus the foul every game all season long on their official home. I mean you are mind taking crazy pills. Okay, maybe Clippers lose one fourteen to one on four to the Denver Nuggets in downtown Los Angeles eight six six ninety seven two five seventy eight six six ninety

seven to two five seventy is the phone number. All opinions are welcome, but I'm not just gonna sit here and be like, yeah, yeah, you're right. Yeah. The offense terrible. Look down they shot fifty four percent from the field, their highest percentage of the season. You get to the free throw line for thirty four attempts. If we take out the misses by Moses Brown, they missed ten shots at the charity stripe. Be better there, be better with the offensive rebounds, yes, and defensive rebounds two

given up ten to the Denver Nuggets. But they don't have Paul George, they don't have Kauai. It's gonna be difficult to beat top level competition right now without them. But I liked what I saw overall. I don't think this team quit. And they ended up losing by ten in a game. Yeah, they were down by close to twenty in that fourth quarter. But right now they're just getting out talented, not out worked. But Denver had their guys. They had Jamal Murray, they had Jokich, and they had

Aaron Core. Just a thorn in the Clippers side. Unbelievable. Twenty nine points not unbelievable. I don't want to disrespect him. He's a good player, but twelve or sixteen shooting twenty nine points. He just seems to always hurt the Clippers. One of those guys, Joseph and Irvine. You're on Clippers stock without him, OSM, what's up? Hello, Joseph? You drive through? What's up? Yeah? Sorry about that. I'm a taco stand. Oh hook, I'll take a couple of carnaside of the street tacos

if you got him hold the stor what about those? I'll take anything Joseph throwing my way. I'll take a w from the Clippers too, Yeah, that would be nice. They're taking in Elson I. They lose by ten, so yeah, my thoughts on it are you know, we're talking about like the lack of threes being put up. It's hard to hit, you know, threes from open looks when your two best players aren't on the field.

So I wasn't really two sup because the ball movement and the attention that Kawai and Paul George put in the game is just something that's not going to be there when they're not there, and nor the amount of open looks. I guess the thing that I'm getting, you know, most worried about is with Kawhi Leonards. You know the health. To me, it was a when, not an if. And I'm moving so much closer to if. And I don't know, Adam, I need a therapist right now outside of

the tacaree. I'm at give me some hope that we will see him in full stride. Just give me something, Adam. Oh, I'm with you, Joseph. Look, I think they're being overly cautious. Here's the hope. They're being extremely overly cautious because he's coming back from an ACL injury, and therefore he injures his right ankle. He turns that and it's on the right side, and you don't want to push him through that because what if he overcompens's and hurst the knee. It's there's a lot of moving parts,

obviously, and I think they're just airing on the side of safety. It's early in the season. They haven't reached the twenty five percent through yet this season mark. And that's my guests. They're putting him in bubble rap and waiting for the playoffs. Now he's gonna have to come back and they're gonna have to jail and build chemistry. But I don't know how much translates from Game twenty tonight into March and April. I don't know how much of that

is going to translate. What happens tonight carries over to that. I think what happens post All Star break can I saw the Boston Celtics being five hundred last year forty games into the season, and they turn things around real quick and made a run to the finals. So with Kawhi Leonard's injury history, I just think you have to be careful, and with his history of what he can do in the playoffs when he's healthy, you gotta be careful.

He is a guy that can flip the switch. We've seen it. But coach Lou did say regarding Kawai and Paul George earlier pregame, he doesn't expect them to be out and paraphrasing a lengthy amount of time. But there's no timetable either on either their returns, and we need to know they're out Sunday, and we know Luke Annard is still out too. That's a big loss right now, it really is. And if you want to compare injuries,

is Smith of the Denver Nuggets also had a right calf strain. He missed about a month, and Luke's been out for I want to say a good week and a half now to two weeks right calf strain, different player, different body. But just a little interesting side note there because Ish Smith played in this game tonight. All right, we'll take a quick time out. Clippers lose one, fourteen to one on four to the Denver Nuggets. I'll

bring you good news in the Western Conference standings. I'll bring you good news. I tried there with Kawai. I'm not overly concerned yet, lo I just the s because the Kawai comment you flip the switch young more Clippers stock next eight sixty six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six sixty nine eight seven two five seventy with the phone number. It los one fourteen to one on four. So the Denver Nuggets. I'm taking on the India Pacers,

who are playing a lot better than people projected coming into this season. On Sunday, we'll talk about that too here on Clippers stock on him five seventy Light Sports with the Euro steps that a sneak good deal in named Big a Switch. George and Lenner running. You're listening to LA Clippers basketball up to clip puts it down plus the foul every game all season long and their official home about me. Clippers lose one four seed to one oh four to the

Denver Nuggets. We'll come back in their Clippers stock. I'm at a moslem eight six six to ninety eight seven two five seventy eight six six ninety eight seven two five seventy is the phone number I told you i'd pull up these Western Conference s innings. Yeah, the Clippers dropped from six to eight tonight. They're eleven and nine and they're two games back of the number one seed

in the Phoenix Suns. That's twelve and six right now. Not enough games for teams to separate themselves in the West, the NBA, really, but teams just haven't ran away with things so far because there've been injuries across the board. It's not just the Clippers dealing with it. Pretty much everybody has. Top guys are out with Phoenix. They've been without CP three. Nikola

Yokich, she missed I think four games. Jamal Murray the same. There's still twelve and seven, though everybody has been a little bit beat up. And not playing to their potential. Here's only need to know though. The Clippers. Yeah, they're two games back of the number one seed. The downside is they're a half game back of being the ten seed, and they're a full game back of being out of the plane right now. But you know who's not even in the plan The defending champs, the Golden State Warriors,

who are a game back of the Clippers at ten and ten. So there's a lot to be decided. It's far too early to get too deep into this, but the overall central point would be nobody's pulling away from the pack here in the Western Conference, and you get hot and make a run and rip off five, six, seventh straight, and all of a sudden you're the number one seed in the West and got a little bit of cushion. We'll see who can do it first. Sacramento Kings were the hottest team.

They lost two in a row. Morris in Long Beach, Morris, what's up? You're on? Clippers talk without aim Awsome? Heinle what at a movie? Adams? I don't want to share something with you. Man. You don't stole all of my thunder stole all of it. Police looking for you, you know, between the first seed and the tenth seed. Yeah, you've never seen nothing like this. If you're talking about three games separates the first seed and the tenth seed, that's incredible. If the playoffs

was just take place right now. If they say the playoffs rolled right now, the second season, the money season, George would be out there and so will Kawhi Leonard. But this is not the money season. Let me just jump in there for a second. Morris, I'll let you go. But I think you're right. I think that's a fantastic point. I think these are injuries you keep guys out of in the regular season early in the regular season to be overly cautious. And if we were talking about the playoffs,

I'd be more optimistic that they'd be playing right now. Oh yeah, something that you said this way had pulled the thinking for you. Could you don't stole my thunder. Nobody is running away with it in the West. You know why you're talking about injuries. I see his talent, Adam. All these teams got a bad dude on their team. Okay, you're right, people have heard a little bit, but they got a lot of talent. Every team in the West's short of Houston. And I'm gonna tell you

something. My boy is John Wall. When John Wall gets batman and robbing back on the team and he's not throwing the ball to win, it's one quarter. You're not gonna be able to run with the Clippers. Let me let you go talk to you later. Thank you, Morris. It's a fair point. Teams beating each other up. No dominant team in the Western Conference right now, and we'll see who emerges from this from the rubble.

But I think every team's looking at the standings the same way, saying, you know what, we get on a role here, It could be us a top recet at the end of the season. I mean, the New Orleans Pelicans are the three seed right now. Portland was at the top of the pack, so was Utah. Now Portland and five, Utah six. It's just musical chairs. It's a rotation right now. If teams jumping in and out of being a top seed in the West every night is changing,

it's a fluid situation. You could say, Clippers lose by ten to the Denver Nuggets, one fourteen to one oh four, coming back where previous Sunday's game they're taken on the Indiana Pacers, and uh, they're in the four seed right now in the East. I don't think anyone predicted that they're at eleven and seven Haliburton Turner. They got some ballers over there playing great team

ball too. We'll talk about it coming up next. Sharon clipper Stock on Amp five seventy ol Sports, trying to gain trusting them, they're running your listening La Clippers basketball. Clipper puts it down plus the foul every game all season long on their official home Clippers lose one fourteen to one oh four to the Nuggets. Not to be labor the point, but I think it's a

large part of the narrative tonight. And the Clippers shot sixty two percent in the first half and they were down twelve, but the turnovers, miss free throws, offensive rebounds they gave up. Denver won the second chance point battle twenty one two four. That's a tough number to overcome, so's this one. They ended up taking twenty one more shots in the Clippers. Clippers just have to be a little bit more sound, tightened things up on both ends.

They're gonna try to do so against the Pacers on Sunday. Not gonna be easy. His Pacers team is coming in fourth in the Eastern Conference, coming in hot, and they do it with kind of guys by committee. I mean Buddy Healed, Miles Turner, Matherine he was my rookie coming out Haliburton getting nineteen. They have five guys averaging ten or more. Not gonna be easy. Tip time is that one Clippers will be without their superstars once

again. We'll have your pregame shows starting at twelve before we get out of here. I do want to thank the Clippers organization. Know what ego Brian Seaman, Ralph Lawler, Dennis Agustino or a statistician big brother Jake Warner or head engineer in downtown Los Angeles, Zach o'cality producer Katie Newton. Sorry for yelling at one time. It's what's not you? It's me Until Sunday with your pregame shows starting at nude. I'm Adam Osden. We'll talk to you
