Transcript

Get your fall. It's time to react to La Clippers basketball. This is Clippers Talk all the chat, reaction and analysis hosted by Adam Mosley. You know he's feeling good. Take the show with you anywhere you are and baby, get the podcast. I'm the iHeart Radio and now your host. He makes everything happen. Adam Mosley, the fantastic Mister dearon Fox, had twenty two of his thirty six points in the second half, and the Clippers would

drop games consecutively for the first time this season. They lose to the Sacramento Kings one thirteen to one ten at Staples Center, first time this season the Clippers have lost two straight. Welcome into Clipper Stock. I'm Adam Oslin. Eight six six ninety eight seven two five seventy eight sixty six nine eight seven two five seventy is the phone number coming up? You'll hear from the head coach to Ron lou post game after the Clippers fall to seventeen and eight.

Now on the season, they are just eight and four at home and really came out flat. Even though they led by two in the first quarter. They looked the same as they did in the third quarter the other night. Now, they didn't lose it by eighteen, but they just didn't have a ton of energy out there. They were down four early. They eventually made a run at the end of the first quarter to get up by two. But whatever it is with these afternoons, Sunday games or Saturday games, they

just have to figure out a way to overcome it. Because they looked like the team that was playing on a back to back, but that was actually the Sacramento Kings who absorbed fifty points from Nikola Yokis, who's no joke its last night in Sacramento, and were able to win that game and have now won six of seven. They're one of the hottest teams outside the Utah Jazz, who I think of one fifteen of sixteen or something crazy like that.

But Tyrese Haliburton, the young rookie, was huge for them. He had eight of his thirteen points in the first couple minute of that fourth quarter, hit a couple of three pointers, and then Daron Fox closed things out. He had twelve of his thirty six in the fourth. Kawai had seven of his twenty points in the fourth. They all came late, but it was a little bit too little too late. He was nine of twenty one from the floor, second straight game now where he's really struggled. From the field.

He was eight of nineteen Friday night against the Boston Celtics. So without PG we're hoping to get more from Kawhi Leonard. That didn't materialize today. He still had ten boards, but just two or four from the free throw line. Again, he's missing free throws all of a sudden. I don't know if there's a connection there between missing free throws and then just missing field

goals as well. He's just a little bit out of rhythm. But the starter's overall, they only had two guys in double figures, Kawhi and Reggie Jackson, who had fourteen points and nights bounce back game for him after having just two points Friday night, also had four assists. But the bench kept them in it and they outscored the starters today. Marcus Morris had sixteen of Viza zubots twelve. Sweet Lew Williams led them with twenty three points, the

Underground God getting that twenty three. They outscored the starters fifty seven to fifty three. They were great, especially in that fourth quarter. Lou and Zoo combined for nineteen of the Clippers twenty nine points in the fourth. It was all them pretty much, and Avisa Zoobots was incredible, especially on the glass. He had five offensive rebounds, fourteen rebounds total and again twelve points. He's been really good. Lou Williams third straight game where he's been in double

figures, first time this season that's happened. Also got to the free throw line a lot. That's a good sign for Sweet Lou. Went ten of ten from the free throw line, so there are some good things and it's good to see the bench that has been a little bit inconsistent so far this season, and Lou Williams has been shooting over forty percent on the season. And even though he was just six of sixteen, again he got to the free throw line. He was aggressive and made plays in the fourth quarter.

In fact, his last three fourth quarters now he had nine points a few games back. He had twelve points Friday night in the fourth and eleven points tonight in the fourth quarters. So he's really been doing a lot of damage. Thirty two points total in his last three fourth quarters. That looks like

the old underground goat Sweet Lou Williams from a couple of seasons ago. We talked about that the other night on Clippers Stock too, when I thought he should have been an All Star, but he had multiple forty point games. I think four of them had a fifty point game. Lewis getting his shot back. He looks more fluid and he looks to be back in rhythm, but Kawhi Leonard doesn't right now, and he wasn't pushing the pace like he

was Friday night. We took note of this, but when the Clippers have been talking about and they have been talking about playing with more pace, it seemed like Kawhi Leonard took that to heart and he was one who was really pushing the ball down the floor every time he touched the basketball off of a rebound against the Boston Celtics Friday. That didn't happen tonight, though, and the Clippers, even with all those offensive rebounds. The Sacramento Kings had three

big ones late in the fourth quarter that they converted on. Harrison Barnes had a tip end Dear and Fox was able to get his own shot that he missed. They were a little more aggressive, they were more scrappy. They looked like they had more energy out there than the Clippers, who would lose two in a row for the first time this season. They lose to the Kings one thirteen to one. Ten Morris and long Beach. Morris, you're on Clippers stop without of Maslin. Tim Morris, Hey, my brother,

good morning. Listen. I'm gonna afternoon listening back to back laws first time. I'm sorry to tell you all, but everybody's gonna go through that. Nobody gets a pass on that, all right. That's just the way it is in the NBA. And Sacramento not the same Sacramento we used to. It's not your daddy's old mobile. These guys played some decenise. They can

remind me of Brooklyn, but they planned some better defense. You got to give it up from a boy, Walden, you're coaching him and nobody's really just running over the NBA Clippers, Philly, Milwaukee, brook and nobody. It's tough this year. But I'm gonna tell you something, when it's all said and done, the Clippers is gonna be there. Okay, just understand

that. But they're not gonna get there and win all these games. They're gonna lose a few, but if they're gonna lose, being all of them and they was in this one except for that Dallas game sometimes because they was in every game. And I saw that game. That's that where the Jokers went crazy. That guy just went crazy. But Sacramento, they played some defense on the mother guys and they want so hold your heads up. You know, they didn't lose the No No Low Life twenty five hundred. Sacramento's

playing, So I'm all right with this loss. I ain't really all right, but I'm not gonna hold on this loss. Good. Thank you Moreris, appreciate you. Yeah, Sacramento is now over five hundred with this victory, they're twelve and eleven, and again they've won six of their last seven games in impressive fashion over some really good teams, not just of the Denver Nuggets. They beat Boston at home earlier this week. All right, coming up next, we'll take a quick break here on Clippers stock. We'll come

back. You'll hear from Kawhi Leonard postgame and the head coach. Toront lou Clippers lose one thirteen to one ten at home at Staples Center, first time all season. They lose two games consecutively you're listening to Clippers Talk here on AM five seventy l A Sports. Hey, Paul George, this is the official home of your LA Clippers. Don't miss a moment of Clippers basketball all season. Log Clippers drop one at home to the Sacramento Kings with the final

score of one thirteen to one ten in favor of Sacramento. Welcome back into your Clippers postgame show Clippers Talk here on AM five seventy LA Sports leading you up to the big game at three pm. Eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy is the phone number Lukenard. This has been one of the ongoing issues or storylines or narratives so far this season, and it's understandable to a degree because he hadn't played

basketball for about a year. He only played twenty eight games last season with the Detroit Pistons, but he still has lacked that aggressiveness. We've been encouraging him to have. His teammates have been encouraging and coaching staff have been imploring him to just put him up. Don't worry about it, because he has shot well this year overall. He just hasn't taken many shots. He finished going three of eight, one of four from distance, had eight points.

Six of those points, though, came in the first quarter, so just like Friday night where he had thirteen points in the first half none in the second half. He got off to a quick start and then tailed off a little bit. The Clippers starters overall just did not have a good ball game. Serge Ibaka three of nine from the field, six points, eight boards. Did have a huge block on Marvin Backley in the third quarter. That was impressive. Nicholas Batum two of six, five points, one of four

from distance, missed a three late. He actually was a minus fourteen. Rarely see him lead them in the plus minus category. On the negative side, the bench was really good. I scored fifty seven points. They did did their job. Lou Williams has come around. He played eighteen minutes straight down the stretch because they needed him. He was a spark as well as Terrence Man who I thought played really well, especially in the first half.

But he provided some of that energy they were missing early on. Had three assists, six points and six boards, had three offensive rebounds. Was really doing his best to uh fill the void. Of not having Patrick Beverly out there with some of those hustle plays, as we've seen a lot of that from Terrence Man and also played down hill and got to the basket a few times before. We hear from the head coach toront lou Let's get to Mitch in the jersey. Mitch, what's up here on Clippers stock with out of

Maslin? How are you? What's happening? Adam? Did that little uh monty do a? Jory said Louis from was down? Okay, I love it. You're funny. You know you're in a good show. I wish he's done the animals, but yeah, tell the tell the higher ups, tell him match, tell him. Okay, give me an I'll call him every day like a year when you don't have a show. Same tweet two right, there's the same tweet about the same that follow out him. May you find me there? What's up? Match? What do you think about

the game? Uh? Close game? You know Sacramento and Phoenix they're gonna be a thorn. I mean this this is a real a true point guard and the Aaron Fox, just like Devin Boco, is going to be a great player too. So just this conference gets coference TOFA. But could you say that we have a good bench. He's top three in Mars zoop back. I like him off the bench as long as we have the Bacco on the team. I think it was just a one year contract. I hope

it's two at least. And and Lou Williams. That's a pretty good Uh. Three guys come off the bench, and I'm I'm pretty sure we had Peach, we would won the game. But it's a tough conference. We're gonna still finish way off the five hundred. But there's out time of the year. I just thought, this seems like so many obstacles. And I know I'm as positive as Mars and he's a great call, but it's just

the Lakers in the nets. I appreciate the phone call. Yeah, I think the top three teams Lakers, Nets, Clippers, they're right there in the mix. And you've probably got to put Utah there right now. And the Denver Nuggets have him playing better, but they just lost to the Sacramento Kings yesterday. Not a lot of excuses that I can find for this Clippers team with this loss, even without Paul George and Patrick Beverley, just because the Kings were coming off a back to back, you knew they were going

to be tough. And even though the Clippers did come back down nine at one point in the third quarter to have a one point lead going into the fourth quarter, that consistent energy just wasn't there. All Right, we'll take a quick break, we'll come back. We'll get to Harold in North Hollywood. You'll also hear from the head coach, tylu that's next after the Clippers

lose one thirteen to one ten to the Sacramento Kings at Staples Center. This is AM five seventy LA Sports. Paul George is the official home of your LA Clippers. Don't miss a moment of Clippers basketball all season long. Clippers lose late at home to the Sacramento Kings by a final score of one thirteen to one ten. Welcome back into Clippers Tuck as we walk you up to the big game between the Kansas City Chiefs in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in just

moments. You'll hear from the head coach Tron Loop post game. But my friend far bought Esen Shar. He had a nice post on Twitter at far bought underscore e he covers the Clippers for SI Now and just talked about the Clippers not being able to close out games well enough and not winning as many games in the clutch so far this season, where they've lost to the Jazz, the Warriors, the Spurs, the Nets, the Celtics, and now the King's Late. And there's some truth to that, because in games decided

by less than ten points, the Clippers are just seven and six. In games where the score is further than ten or ten or more, Clippers are ten and two. All right, let's hear from Tahron Loop post game after the Clippers fall to seventeen and eight on the season and lose one thirteen and one ten to the Sacramento Kings. They tell you you want to take a take and look at that, and I was okay ahead outside of the Dallas I know you've been very vocal about the types of three point shots you guys

want to get. Outside of the Dallas game. Tonight was your worst night shooting from three. I'm curious what your thoughts were on the types of shots you guys were getting, if you liked them, didn't like them. I liked them. I thought, you know, I was getting three point shots. We can touch the pain as much as I would like to, you know, gett into the pain creating, you know, created another action.

But you know, I thought I liked our shots. You know, I thought a guy's a little lanes, a little tired, couldn't make shots, didn't have a lot of pop. But our bench came into the tremendous job. I thought our bench was really good with Zoo and lu Marcus Terence Man, you know, they were really good on the bench and they kind of

say the game for us. As far as just being in it. I don't know if it's if you've noticed, but team has kind of struggled with afternoon games, not necessarily winning and losing, but just getting up for it. And I guess, you know, energy wise has been a thing. Have you noticed that at all? Oh, but teams are in general, our team, well you guys a bit specifically. Yeah, we've had a couple that you know, we just weren't able to have my cavity spark,

you know, any any punchable. Like I said, our starters willed to have much. But I thought, you know, I basically came up off the bench, did a great job. So it was just you know, it was just a little different from the starting line to the to the to the bench guys. But our beach was pretty good. I thought, thanks, we will go next to lot. It's all right. I know before the game, you you compliment on Daron Fox and and his speed and how

much confidence that he's playing with. Uh. And to go back to a previous game, you mentioned the pick and roll coverage and and guards getting downhill. Uh, it was something that you wanted to get better. What did you see in this game in terms of the challenges of garden deer and in terms of his ability to get into the paint and make things happen for himself and others. And I just thought his speed, his quickness, you know,

law really hard us. I thought his point of attack. I thought a few times we were up too high and gave too much real estate to attack. But I just thought, you know, he was able to attack us all night, no matter the matchup, and he was lib to get into the paint and calls havoc. So I thought his speed was a big factor tonight in the game. There was Torontolou post game. The Sacramento Kings

did have sixty six points in the paint. Dearon Fox had a move and there was great defense by Kawhi Leonard and somehow he was able to get around him, avoid him for an acrobatic layup. He was brilliant, had twenty two of his thirty six points in the second half, and the Sacramento Kings win at Staples Center one thirteen to one ten. Over your Los Angeles Clippers. Quick break. Here, we'll come back, We'll get to your phone

calls. We'll close things out and get you ready for Wednesday's game in Minnesota, Minnesota. You're listening to AM five seventy LI Sports. Clippers lose too straight for the first time this season. They fall at Staples Center one thirteen to one ten to the Sacramento Kings. Welcome back into Clippers Talk. I'm out of Mouslin, don't have time to play the audio for you, but Kawhi Leonard post game said, just give credit to Sack. They did a

good job. They came in ready. You heard from Toronto, lou last segment, just saying the Clippers didn't have a lot of pop, not a lot of punch, some tired legs out there, and it was evident Harold in North Hollywood finished things off for us here on Clippers Talk. Yeah, what is the players sitting on games so much? I think it takes to set something away from the game. I don't know what you think, and I think the All Star Game, and I think Lebron's right, Well,

what's way in an All Star game? In a little pandemic? Nobody cares. Yeah, that is a developing situation. I wish I had more time to get into it, Harold. But the Clippers have guys missing games right now for legitimate reasons. With the right foot that has swoll up, her swollen up, with Paul George and Patrick Beverly and that right knee. He's missed eight games now. PG thirteen has missed two straight. Clippers lose two

straight for the first time this season. Coming up next here on A five seventy, we got the big game for you, Chiefs, Bucks, goa chefs, Come on. I don't care that Andy Reid already got his ring. I want more and less if that's possible for Tom Brady. Clippers are in Minnesota on Wednesday tip time at five pm. We'll have Clippers countdown starting at four before we get out of here. I do want to thank the

Clippers organization, Noah Eagle, Brian Semen, Ralph Lawler. Back here in Burbank, we had the fantastic Sam Zea back at Staples Center, big brother Jake Warner until Wednesday with the Clippers in Minnesota. I mean, I'm Oslin will talk to you then,
