Time for a postgame Look, it's your LA Clippers. This is Clippers Locker Room, brought to you by Cedars Sinai, the official health partner of the LA Clippers, and by Patchonga, official travel casino of the LA Clippers. Breaking down today's action with the pre and post game voice. If you're LA Clippers, they're locking in every game every night, Adam Osland, the Clippers lose big in Sacramento one o nine to ninety five to the Kings. Welcome

into your postgame locker room show. I'm at a Oslin count up on the Patriot Am eleven fifty. We'll have Clippers stock for you if you want to get on early. Eight seven seven five to zero eleven fifty eight seven seven five to zero eleven fifty is the phone number. But first, let's get back out to your radio voice of the Clippers and Carlo Jimenez it golden one

censer. Oh Carlo, you mentioned low energy from this Clippers team, but it also felt like a low IQ basketball game where they just were not sound enough really in any facet of the ball game against a Kings team that is desperate for victories right now, and it really showed in this one, with that fourth quarter, with late in that third quarter things unraveling on the Clippers.

They just did not play a well focused ballgame. No, And I think, Adam, it really speaks to how taxing this road trip has been. You think about the wins in Orlando and Philadelphia, grind it out come back victories, and then having to starve off a Hornet team that couldn't miss the hoop look as big as the ocean in Charlotte. The Clippers really felt the fatigue in this one. I think that's what's what I come to understand is they just didn't have that focus that we're used to time in and time

again. It felt like for the Clippers team, they had an opportunity it's about a four point game at him with nine minutes to go in the third, but they couldn't get it done down the stretch and Sacramento dominated the glass. You talk about hustle stats ATAM, You talked about focus, right, Clippers sixteen turnovers, gave up twenty offensive rebounds. There's not two more hustle stats than those two, and they were not in the Clippers favor in this

one. Well, it's most concerning to me is James hard and Russell Westbrook combined for nine of those sixteen turnovers. Your two playmakers, your four generals out there. They weren't good enough on offense or on defense in this game. No, no, it was not a good showing from the Clippers facilitators and this one. But I think for the Clippers, you gotta find ways to get back to the drumming board at him and figure out how to efficiently

run this offense because without Kawhi Leonard they looked a little lost today. It just you can't your point guards can't have nine combined assists, like I mean, it's not a winning formula. And in this one, they were a little too loose with the basketball, a little too slappy down the stretch. I thought they they shot the ball well, I mean percentage wise, felt

like they could have got more threes up. They defended the three well you mentioned it pregame, but Sacramento three point shooting team and Clippers held them the twenty eight percent. But it was the other stuff, the offensive rebounding that demand demand defense. I mean, Dearon Fox finishes with twenty points and he had to take twenty shots to get there. Yeah, but then you look at the Monte Sebonez who had twenty rebounds. It's just the offensive rebounding is

what killed him in this one. Defense was good on the first go, it was the second go that they struggled. Yeah, Sacramento got up sixteen more shots than the Clippers in this game. That's a recipe for disaster. Aside from the turnovers, and you mentioned all those offensive rebounds they ended up getting. That's a big difference maker in a game like this, and the Clippers just looked very disconnected. Of course, earlier today we found out that

Kawhi Leonard would be out with soreness in that right knee. He traveled back to Los Angeles. Hopefully he's available on Thursday, when the Clippers have well their biggest game of the season to date. You could say they're taken on to defending champs in the Denver Nuggets. Back at Crypto after this four game road trip with the Clippers did end up going three and one. Tip time Clippers back at home hosting the Denver Nuggets on Thursday night is at seven.

We'll have your pregame show starting at six. Carlo Jimenez. Well, see if this team can regroup and refocus here. Safe travels, great call. As always, We'll see at the crypt on Thursday. Oh yeah, Adam, prime time. Oops, let's go, let's go. Clippers fall tonight one O nine to ninety five in Sacramento. I'll bring you good news though. On the way back, we'll dig into this box score. Okay,

that's not the good news. It's an NBA out of town scoreboard update for you here on the Los Angeles Clippers Audio Network loading Clippers fully loaded with Clippers fans. This is LA Clippers Basketball. You're listening to the LA Clippers on the LA Clippers Audio Network. I got some good news and bad news. The bad news the Clippers lost in Sacramento one O nine to ninety five to the Kings. The good news the Dallas Mavericks lost by four just about an

hour and a half away in San Francisco to the Golden State Warriors. So that means the Clippers remain two games up on the Mavericks. There are also two games up on the Pelicans. Clippers in that four spot currently in the West Dallas behind them in the five. Welcome back into your Clippers locker room post game show. I'm Adam Oslin coming up on the Patriot Am eleven fifty. We will have Clippers stock eight seven seven five two zero eleven fifty eight

seven seven five two zero eleven fifty is the phone number. You can also reach me at follow Adam A on X. Do I have to do? I have to do? I have to Yes, I do. It's my job. I got to dig into this final box score. The Clippers ended up with sixteen turnovers turned into fifteen points for the Kings. The Clippers were playing a little bit better actually with their transition defense on some of the turnovers earlier in this ball game before things got out of hand, had sixteen turnovers,

still the overall number far too many. Sacramento had just ten turned into nine points for the Clippers, as they had zero fast break points, which is a little bit surprising. The Kings was seven of them. The numbers that stick out to me. Sacramento had forty six points in the paint, the Clippers had just thirty. After averaging fifty over their last three ball games

and playing better in that area with more force on the interior. The Kings also getting up sixteen more shots ninety two to seventy six shot attempts in favor of Sacramento. And that's gonna happen when you have eleven more offensive rebounds and six less turnovers than the Clippers. Really, how they came up with that number. Clippers only shot forty one percent from the field. They were eleven or twenty seven from the outside. They probably should have shot a few more

three pointers. They shot forty one percent from three. They shot out just about the same from two in this ballgame, butros attempted twenty two for twenty seven Sacramento nineteen for twenty five. When free throws really saved the Clippers against

Charlotte, where they got up thirty plus free throws. On Sunday against the Hornets, Look, I knew this could be an issue going into this game, even with Kawhi Leonard against a very motivated Sacramento Kings team that is trying to stay afloat in the play in So I guess there's more good news here because the Clippers lost to the Kings. The Lakers did not gain a game

on the Kings. They're still in that nine to ten spot if you care about your Hallway rival, and it seems like most people, at least on x do as I tweeted that earlier. The only good thing about tonight losing to the Sacramento Kings is it hurt the Lakers, But the Clippers got bigger issues and bigger things to focus on, including a much better squad back home. They'll see the Denver Nuggets at Crypto on Thursday. Tiptime is a seven pregame at six come back. Put a bowl on this one. Get ready

for Clippers talk on the Patriot Am eleven fifty. After the Clippers losing Sacramento by a final score of one O nine and ninety five, you're listening to the Los Angeles Clippers Audio Network. They want to bring a banner with them to the into it don more LA Clippers basketball on the LA Clippers Audio Network.

It was a tie ball game after one and the Clippers were down just five and a half, but a thirty five to nineteen third quarter in favor of the Kings, outscoring the Clippers by sixteen in that period would be their undoing. They lose big in Sacramento one O nine and ninety five, as they had sixteen turnovers, the Kings got up sixteen more shots than them. Clippers looked tired physically mentally with the lack of focus out there with some of

those turnovers. They got to regroup and refocus and get ready for the Denver Nuggets. Tip time on Thursday. Clippers and Nuggets back at Crypto for your Los Angeles Clippers. After going three and run three and one on this road trip, I'd say you sign up for that. I know tonight's lopside defeat is deflating, but three and one a successful road trip. They've rided the ship to some extent, but they need a victory over the Denver Nuggets on

Thursday again, tiptime at seven pregame at six outside of Los Angeles. We were leaving you until then. Coming up next on the Patriot MLM fifty Love Clippers Talk. home For the Clippers, they were in attack mode. Adam Ostley, Well, I heard some cow bells, I heard some light the beam chants, and I saw the Clippers not getting back on defense, not converting on offense, and a game that just unraveled in that third quarter and got away from them quick. They would eventually lose in Sacramento to the Kings one, nine to ninety five. There are seven games left in the regular season. Welcome

into Clippers Talk. I'm Adam Oslin listening to the Patriot AM eleven fifty. When the Dodgers are on a five to seventy LA Sports. This is where we will be coming up on the show. Well, Big will updikeon from Clips and Dip, looking forward to that rant. After this loss by the Clippers, after they learned earlier today they would be without Kawhi Leonard tonight, which is concerning. It always is when Kawhi misses a ballgame, but especially

when he's out with right knee soreness. It is his right knee where he had the reconstructive surgery on the aco where he had the torn meniscus where he had the tendonopathy, reportedly in San Antonio. Hopefully he's okay. I want to believe that it could be related to him just being overly fatigued. And they have a five and seven coming up, starting against the Denver Nuggets on Thursday night. Obviously, this team goes as far as Kawhi Leonard takes them.

They're three and four now without him this season. Now, the good news is he's only missed seven games. The bad news is without at times, they've looked like a completely different ball club. Now. I know some of that is because who you're missing, but when you still have James Harden, when you still have Paul George, when you still have Russ coming off the bench, you got to stay at the ship a little bit. You got to get by. And they're under five hundred without Kawhi Leonard now,

Ultimately, if they don't have them, they're not winning anyways. And they have done enough to tread water and put themselves in a position where they're thirteen and thirteen their last twenty six games post Grammy road trip, and they're in the four spot by two games over the Dallas Mavericks, who lost in San Francisco, just a few miles down the road from the Clippers being in Sacramento.

Tonight, they lost to the Golden State Warriors by four. Good news because up to games on Dallas actually means you're up three games because the Clippers have the tiebreaker over them. We'll get into that matchup a little bit more later in the show, as it's looking more and more likely Pelicans could still see the Clippers in the first round. But I just did not like the lack of focus by this Clippers team. You could see it early on in

that first quarter. Well, the Kings couldn't score either. The Clippers just couldn't take care of the basketball. Five turnovers in the first twelve minutes. They shot seven of nineteen from the field. Kings weren't much better. They had three turnovers. They were nine of twenty one from the field. They were knotted up at twenty four after the first twelve minutes. But here's the

issue. It felt like to me the Clippers were trying to play at the King's pace and beat them at their own game, and that was not going to app happened tonight. I think that accounts for a lot of these turnovers. We're looking for coach Blue audio post game, but I said it in the third quarter. It just looked like the Clippers were too sped up for their own good. You know, you would think against a team like the Sacramento Kings their thirteenth in pace, the Clippers are twenty fourth in pace on

the season, there would be a good matchup for Russell Westbrook. Instead, he looked completely out of control at times and was just amplifying the bad miscues on offense by this Clippers team. Missing dunks, layups can get back the other way. Those are basically live ball turnovers, and there were some of those two games Harden was bad five turnovers. He and Russ combined for nine of their sixteen turnovers. Harden was one for seven. Doesn't look right still.

I don't know if it's the finger, the shoulder, but one of seven, one of five from the outside, eight assists of five turnovers. That's very on James Harden, like Russ, can have games like that. He's very erratic with his play. I know he finished with twenty points when a lot of that came during inconsequential time. I thought it was a really,

really tough game from Russ. In the third quarter, and it did not help the Clippers gain any sort of composure when they were down by just four early in the third, when they were still in the ball game. It was a five point game in the half, They're right there, but turnovers would come in bunches. It was fifty five fifty nine after a Vitza Zubats got a hook shot to go hell at the eight minute mark, it was still a four point game. At sixty one to fifty seven. The

floodgates opened after Harrison Barnes hit back to back three pointers. Clippers called a full time out. Norman Palell tried to be a stabilizing force, my player to watch. He was the best player on the floor for the Clippers tonight. Knocked down a three pointer out of that timeout, and then a bonus bucket. Dearon Fox got to the free throw line kick and Murray a three, then a dunk off a bad turnover by Norm Powell. But that third

quarter, Uh, things just snowballed on the Clippers. You could say, didn't want to swear it was turnovers. First that one by Norm Russ had a layup, then cutting it down to fourteen, but then didn't get back on defense, get a step back three, cutting it to fifteen. Then had a really bad turnover, just out of control, flying down the right side of the lane looking for Paul George threw it to the opposition. PG would have a tough a but he had a tough ballgame. That was Murray

with an and one to respond, keiking Murray. You knew you'd have the green light. They don't have Herder, they don't have Malik Monks, so it's not like it was just the Clippers. Yes, of course, missing Kawhi is much bigger than missing those two guys. But the Zakamar Kings are down a few guys themselves. Then Russell turnover on an offensive foul. Clippers are down twenty one after an alex Land dunk to end that third quarter, when it was a four point game with eight minutes left in the third.

They got out rebounded by nine in the third quarter. They went two of nine from three. They had six turnovers in the third quarter. But that's how it happens. That's how a game gets away from you. It can happen quickly in this league with the level of hot shooting and three pointers that are taken Zakramento Kings top five and three pointers attempted, and they ended up

getting up forty two to three pointers. They only made twelve, but they had forty six points on the paint compared to thirty for the Clippers, who had been averaging fifty. The aggressiveness wasn't there. The collective chemistry and looking like a cohesive unit wasn't there. Paul George wasn't aggressive enough. There's no Kawhi Leonard. You can't take just twelve shots. I know part of that is because he didn't even get back in in the fourth quarter rightfully, so

the game was over. They were waving the white flag. Late saw Bones Highland actually have a really nice lay up. Brandon Boston Junior had a couple of nice shots, but inconsequential didn't mean anything. When your floor generals combined for nine of your sixteen turnovers, yeah you're probably getting cooked that night. Well done, the Charles Barkley would say, extra crispy, not gonna happen. The turnovers, the miscues offensively leading to easy shots for the Sacramento Kings,

and then just not a good enough effort on the glass. Outside of Big Zoo, I thought he was battling, but guys weren't helping him. You know, Big Zoo was out there contesting shots. You get a crack back if he has to leave his man because you got burned by your man going to the basket and Zoo has to try to block that, well, then you got to support him and box out his guy. It's been an issue all year. Big Zoo finished with ten and eleven, but just five

or fourteen shooting. They did at least try to feature him a little bit more deserved it, but just a nasty flow to the ballgame. I predict Coach Lou might say that a very disconnected Clippers team a clunky looking offense, and again I think it was them trying to play too much at the King's

pace instead of imposing their will. Kings are very comfortable playing faster. They play a little bit slower than they did last year, but they're still miles different in that area than the Clippers, who are bottom ten and pace. Clippers lose one to nine to ninety five in Sacramento to the Kings, but hey, it hurt the Lakers and more importantly, the Dallas Mavericks lose in

San Francisco, to the Golden State Warriors, Morrison Long Beach. You're on clippers stock without a muscle, you know, Adam, no loss is a good loss. But as the many respects, not too bad here. Kawhi got a sword kneed. Every game is the playoff game. Now look at Dallas in the Pelicans. There's not going to be any easy first round. He was going to face Zion I saw a team the other day shut him down. Or we're gonna face the Luca Doncis. I don't know if we

got a defense see him. But anyway, I'm glad that Cohi said out this game. We didn't lose any any any of you know, only lost two games. Well in the two games, the only two games they hit him. That's pretty good with only seven games left. So I'm feeling pretty good about this that I know. You guys some people got a call up one whine, but I'm really proud of the guys that they won't stayed out of four. They're on the road, jet Lag. You caught up with

him, and these guys they namen years caught up with him. So they did they did the best. They just got beat that's all it is. So you made yourself, Adam, if you look at it in totality, this road trip, and you have told people. If you had told people going into it, hey they're going three and one, you'd sign up for that. In Philly, Orlando, Charlotte, then in Sacramento, a couple of playoff teams in there. Philadelphia hasn't exactly been playing like one. They

are one at least a play in team without Joe El Embiid. But that was a good win. In Orlando, I thought was a really good win. I gainst that team that was down and desperate. Charlotte, you just have to win that game. And I knew tonight would be tough. Zachramento played with more of a sense of urgency, and they played together. Clippers didn't. I know, you're missing Kawhi, but that's not an excuse, not a good enough one when you have Paul George and James Harden still out

there. I was asking a podcast recently on Clips and Dip, and we'll have Chuck Mockler or actually will have Will Updyke on tonight even though it was Clippers loss. So Chuck's gonna come in here there, Will's gonna come in here flying and upset, which I look forward to. But Chuck asked me, what's your biggest concern with this Clippers team right now? Seven games left? To me, it's James Harden. He hasn't looked right. He hasn't

looked right for a month. He ended up shooting forty percent from the field in March, thirty two percent from the side. Guys, it's not just his playmaking. They need his aggressiveness. They need his scoring. He's been dealing with the shoulder issue, now a finger. He goes one for seven tonight after taking just three shots against Charlotte. Yeah, it's a red flag. They need him healthy and spry and rejuminated for the playoffs badly. And

they need a victory against the Denver Nuggets on Thursday. You know why because it helps their own cause. Denver is currently at the top of the Western Conference. That means if you're lucky enough to get out of that four or five matchup in the second round, as long as Denver wins that first round series, you're playing the defending champs. You gotta send them to second or third in the Western Conference. Beating them will help do that. So it's

not just about proving to yourself that you can beat the Denver Nuggets. They beat them the last time for the first time in a couple of years. You need to beat them to keep them from being the number one seed, as Denver would win earlier. I still think they're without Jamal Murray right now. Yes, but Nikola Jokic would win them the ball game at home one ten to one oh five over the San AA Todio Spurs in a game where Jokicic had forty two, sixteen and six assists. Nice tune up to get

ready for the Clippers. I guess let's pause ten seconds for station identification. this is where we will be coming up here on the show. Well Updyke will be here from Clips and div Let's get back to your phone calls at eight seven seven five two zero eleven fifty eight seven seven five two zero eleven fifty Paul and Rancho Ku Paul, what's up here on Clipperstock withou Amazen? Well, Adam, you've done another great job, covering almost every little thing, all the big things. What I miss, what I'm miss I

know I miss him tiny little bit of tiny little bit. When I heard ty lu too, he was given James Harden a little bit too much credit. You know. I's been watching the game as you are. I guess he's slowed down a little bit. I don't know if it's because the age or the season, or like you said, maybe he's injured. But I

do notice time in and time out when they do double team him. It's coming the double team and he just really slow to react, and it results in the turnover in a fast break, and the momentum shifts, so, you know, and then when he drives or was tell my wife, when he drives to the basket, I don't know. Maybe three years ago he he'd make those and now he just for whatever reason, I like the guy, he's just not converting. He's not producing in that respect. Yeah,

I'm not even talking about his outside shooting. And then it seems to affect the other team. They make just bad decisions, you know. So I just want to mention to you. I don't want to say this, but I did sign up a sponsor a new sponsor for the Clippers, there'll be Panera bread because their clippers, unfortunately are soft as they're fresh baked bread, and the Clippers do love those turnovers. Paul, you set me up, your son of a bitch. You know what, it's fair. Coach Lou

called him soft recently. Now they responded after that, and they won three or four. And you could attribute some of this to just being the last game of the road trip. They may have had to foot out the door. They got the news about Kawhi Leonard earlier today. It's human nature and also some tired legs out there. I put out the door was fatigued. But the other teams don't. You want me to pull up other teams and

their schedule and schedule losses for them. I can do it. I mean, everybody follows their team closest and they think it only happens to them. Go look at top teams and what their record is on the second night of a back to back or at the end of a road trip, ort the end of five games in seven days. It's not pretty. Fatigue is a real thing, and I'm not trying to make an excuse for them. But when I see sixteen turnovers and the variety that they were having in this game.

It looks like mental fatigue to me. James Hard just had a game with ten assists to zero turnovers. He has a three to one assist to turnover ratio on the season. He had five turnovers in this game to just eight assists. So it's uncharacteristic. You could at least say, Paul, how about okay? Well you would have to agree, though, shaved except for the Magic game, the sixer game they won by the kind of they

won, but it was barely a win. You know, if you're going to be a championship team, can you really be playing like this on a consistent basis, not just losing but ugly blown out losses. It's getting to be habitual. I would think I'm watching every game unless I'm wrong. It's kind of scary. If they think they're gonna win a championship, Well, I'm wondering how much of it, and it is the goal, and it's a fair point, I'm wondering how much of it is a residual effect of

having seventeen games and thirty one days in March. I think the team is gassed. Sadly, they're the oldest team in the league, and they have the toughest schedule in the league by a wide margin. Go look at how many teams have played seventeen games in a month this season. You might find one other team that's had it. I don't even know if that's true. And they got a five and seven coming up starting Thursday against the Denver Nugget.

So seven games remaining and five of them are coming within seven days. Seven days. Yeah, it's scary. It's like the ring. It's it's bad, it's tough. I My hope is this team will be more rejuvenated by the fact that if you're not in the play in and they shouldn't be at this point, you get five to six days off before the first round starts. That could be their saving grace. And by the way, Paul

George has looked more spry as of late. He had an insane March where he averaged twenty four on fifty three percent shooting from the field forty seven percent from the outside. Kawhi Leonard was just moving great. This knee soreness is concerning, but I just saw him blow by Miles Bridges, one of the more athletic players in the league on Sunday for a two handed dunk. They

both were starting to look better. James Harden, I don't know if it's fatigue, injuries, a shooting slump, I don't know, but he's got a snap out of this. Maybe he needs the game off or two. Do they have the ability to afford that right now? With how close things are in the standings, you don't want to start the first round in Dallas in New Orleans either. You want to at least have home court be starting

at Crypto now. I know the Clippers got down two with home court advantage in twenty to twenty one against Dallas, but it's a different team on both sides, both sides. I scoff a little bit at people trying to compare this Clippers team to that Clippers team, or this Dallas team to that Dallas team, or just the Dallas team the Clippers saw early on this season. They had a big makeover. They've been the hottest team in the league really

since the trade deadline. I think they were twenty and six heading into this ballgame. They lost tonight in San Francisco to the Golden State Warriors, and they've been a top ten defense over that span. That's what's concerning to me. Everybody kept looking at oh on the season, they're a bottom ten defense. Okay, is that representative of who they are now? No, so throw it out. They added Daniel Gafford and PJ. Washington, and they

have Derek Lively, the good rookie. They have a bunch of guys in the front court that are athletic and compliment Luca, Dontris and Kyrie Irving really well. As those guys have really gelled. Finally, they have the second best clutch rating. That's scary, this whole idea of well, the Pelicans, you know, they've had our number in the regular season and we've beaten Dallas twice in the playoff. It's a different team. Luca's older, he's

been to a Western Conference final since then. This is by far the best supporting cast he has had around him. He has Kyrie Irving. If you want to bank on Kyrie continuing to struggle in the playoffs, be my guest. I'm not gonna do that. You look at some of the numbers since he left Lebron when he was the number one option at times they haven't looked great. Well, guess what he's next to a Lebron again. He's got Luca. He's not the number one option. Him is the number two.

We've seen win a championship, We've seen hit one of the most clutch shots and memorable shots in NBA history. So I don't know where people are coming up with this stuff that we want Dallas. Yeah, you could lose to Dallas or the Pelicans if the Clippers don't bring it, if they don't play right. I'm just saying it's a toss up. I go back and forth. Right now, I'm thinking the Pelicans will be a better matchup than the Dallas Mavericks. But Clippers have seven games left. There's room to maneuver,

but they can't get into a top three seed. It's really only the possibility of sliding down the standings for them, and that should create more importance an urgency in these last seven games, starting Thursday against the Denver Nuggets. Huge matchup, not just because if you can beat them, they're gonna be feeling really good about yourself, but also you can knock them off of being the number one seed in the West. So if you do get out of the

first round, you don't got to see him in the second round. Try to stave that off as long as possible. Mark Huynton Beach, you're on a clipper stock with that a maaslin. Hi, Mark, Hey, can you hear me? Okay? I got you, Mark? What's up? Well? You know, people got to realize them. We won three out of four on the road. The one we lost we didn't have Kawhi. We didn't even score one hundred points. Again, it's that half classes full versus that half glasses empty. So you know, three out of four,

that's a seven fifty percentage. You know, it's it's unfortunate Kawhi couldn't play. But for all of this worth Yeah, we had some players that could have stepped up and didn't. That would have been nice. But hey, end of a road trip and I can see where they might be tired of unpacking and packing and everything. But all in all, I think it was a good road trip. Just too bad we didn't have Kawhi to finish it up and do a four to zero. But you know we got a three

and one, and I'm happy with that. Here's some more glass half full for you here, Mark, they have one more road game. That's it. In Phoenix on April ninth, So we have a better road road record that we do well. Now you're going last half empty on me. Look, for most of the season, they were a great home team basically until the last five games at home where they lost all five. So I don't know what happened there. I think it's just odds of March stuff, and

the Clippers were playing a ton of games. They weren't playing well, obviously, and they took their foot off the gas. And they're an older team. But you want to get back home. You want to develop that home court advantage again. Starts against the Denver Nuggets. Huge game on Thursday night at Crypto, Biggest game in the season to date. I'll update you on Jamal Murray and his status because he's been out the last couple of games for

the Denver Nuggets. But right now they're at the top of the West, barely up by about half a game. Minnesota and OKC they're right behind Denver. Beat Denver put them in the two three. You put them in the two three against Minnesota, and that means they could take them on the second round. I don't want to look too far ahead, but you want to worn down Denver Nuggets team in the Western Conference finals. That's the optimum path. Clipper's got a ton of work to do before then. They gotta get

out of the first round. They are vulnerable when you're taking on I said this two months ago. I didn't think there was as much separation in terms of talent from the top four teams in the bottom four teams, or at least seeding one through four versus five, six, seven, eight, nine to ten in the West. There may be separation record wise, but I think talent wise, there's not as much difference. In the first round in the Western Conference is gonna be a bloodbath for everybody. Enjoy it. It

me be a rob zombie movie. We'll take a quick time out, we'll come back. Well, we'll opetike on from clips and dip. After the Clippers lose one O nine to ninety five and Sacermento to the Kings, I'm at a Moslims. You're listening to clipperstock here on the Patriot AM eleven fifty. They want to bring a banner with them to the into it down more

LA Clippers basketball on the LA Clippers Audio Network. Clippers lose of the Kings without their king and Kawhi Leonard sister King found out earlier today Kawhi Leonard would be out tonight due to right knee soreness that surgically repaired right knee hopefully nothing serious. Welcome back into clipperstock. I'm at a maslin. This is the Patriot Am eleven fifty after the Clippers fall one O nine to ninety five up in sack Town. Join the show right now is big Will Updyke from Clips

and dip uh Will. How are you feeling after this one? The type of loss the Clippers just suffered in a road trip where they went three to one, but you wanted to get the sweep and get greedy Here I understand this one. This one still doesn't sit right with me. Look, I said that a loss against the Kings would undo any goodwill they'd made up for

with the last couple of games. Loo Ky Moore locked in the equation change is a little bit minus Kuhi. But I still got to say, like some of what I'm seeing from the rest of the Big three that's not Kawhi

Leonard. I just have serious questions about their lettle, like their their competitive level and how much pride they're actually taking in this because this was three quarters of a game and the garbage time squad ended up getting this in, you know, making this a closer game than it was when the starters were pulled in the ford. Yeah, it was over by the end of the third it was yeah cooked. They lost at third quarter thirty five to nineteen.

Thought they had some really bad turnovers and then the guys turning it over not getting back on defense has been bugging me. Russ has been guilty of that. Norm Powell was on one of those. James Harden had five turnovers. It's felt like when things unraveled, it looked like Russ was trying to play at a pace that the rest of the team wasn't ready for in that third quarter, you could say, so some of those things are like a little

bit more forgivable to me. Like, obviously, if you're out of piece's biggest Kawhi, you know, Russ is still returning into the lineup, and I look, I have my qualms about sort of how his tempo actually fits in with the rest of the roster, depending on the lineup that he's in.

Like, some of that stuff is a little bit understandable, but like the effort on the boards I thought was absolutely pathetic, you know, like the it's just I would expect Paul George and James Harden to do a lot more knowing that Kawhi is going to be out, Like you can't just coast, you can't coast. Is though Kawhi is still there winning, he's not And you know, maybe this isn't a must win game in their eyes, even though I think with the way the standings are looking, they should try

to win every game that they can to get one. That's all we're even talking about right now, to get one round of the playoffs with home court advantage. Let's at least try to lock up four. Can we do that? Guys? Can we just do that? And from what I saw today from like Paul George, who started very very well in this game, I liked a lot of what I saw from Paul George in the first half and then kind of took the foot off the gas and James Harden just cool.

That was a stinker. Yeah, And had they won this game, they would have been up not technically but because they have the tiebreaker. Four games on the Dallas Mavericks was seven remaining that might have done it, that might have secured at least home court in the first round, which I think, Yes, we just had a caller talk about this too. They lost their last five home games. I don't care. You don't not want home court advantage in the playoffs because in March they lost some games badly at home,

when before that they were a really good home team. Now they're twenty five, and yeah, if it comes to seven games, I'm so sorry. Like that, you just can't make an argument for me that it's not better to be on your home court. I don't care what your regular season record was. We know, I mean, we've talked enough about what this team's issue was. Like they sent their foot off the gas coming out the All

Star Break. They didn't take it seriously enough. I don't think that that's necessarily a reflection or there's no cause is not like causation is not cause, or correlation is not causation. Sorry, with the Clippers in the home game stuff, if it comes to a seven game series, there's just I'm sorry. I can't find I can't think of a fan that doesn't want that on their home court. Yeah, if there's anything that I'm gonna say throw out

when you talk about what translates to the playoffs and what doesn't. I'm gonna say, even if you had a better road record, I still want home court advantage in a playoff series. That's just acidine. But I look back at that the map series, that first round series, nobody won a game at home until Game seven. But guess who on whose home court Game seven

was? It was the Clippers. Yeah, that's a great point. You know, we talked about it yesterday on the pod with Chuck Mockler, but he brought up your biggest concern, what's our biggest concern at this point of the season. And I think we both were in lockstep that the play of James Harden over the last month is the biggest concern. Because I've said it before, but if we're giving him, I think the majority of the credit for that twenty six and five run, and just how unstoppable they looked when

everything was clicking. When things are looking like this where they're thirteen and thirteen their last twenty six games since the Grammy road trip, we got to look back his way and say, is something wrong with the system here? The machine? Is something going on? How do you feel about that, well, I agree one hundred percent, and like, look, I hope that this is just a little bit of coasting to stay fully healthy or get to where he needs to be in the playoffs. But man, given his given

his playoff record already, you gotta have concerns. The guy getting up seven shots with no Kawhi Leonards, you gotta have some concerns. He made one, he made one, three no other shot from the floor. To five turnovers to eight assists not good. I just I don't get it because I feel like I feel like there's this pervasive attitude where everybody has been there before,

but really only one guy on this roster. I mean, okay, one guy as a starter on this roster has really been there before, not to discredit, not to discredit anybody else, And I just don't see it. I think like it made at the beginning, the slow start, he hadn't played a game with Philadelphia, he had not played an NBA game prior to coming here. Of course he was going to have to get into shape. But the way he's coming out of the break, it's just a little

incomprehensible and it is definitely worrisome. You hope I mean, I hate that I'm relying on this, But you hope that it's to flip the switch thing, right, Like you hope that he's going to be able to gear it, to get it back into high gear and sort of lock those things in as we get towards the end of this season. But I from right now, it doesn't look great. I'll say that it's almost like a false sense

of security. We'll just we'll flip that switch when we get there. You've mentioned it before, but at times it has looked like a team that felt like maybe we had done enough, we proved who we can be when we're running on all cylinders, and therefore, now just fast forward to the playoffs and we'll be that team that was twenty six and five of our three already one game stretch for a couple of months. Yeah, I'm not seeing it right now. And stuff like I mean, like I can understand like some

of the poor shooting things. I can understand things, but like getting scored by sixteen points in the pain, getting outscored by sixteen points on second chance point, getting out rebounded fifty six to thirty eight, like these are things that they could slow down, like it's not just it's not just any one thing. And we shot forty one percent from three as a team and like still couldn't put this one away. Like it's just there's a lot of effort

things that feel like they're not coming together. And I think, look, I obviously a lot of a lot of iyre, a lot of a lot of blame has to go on the big stars. That's that's what they get paid for, that's what they're there for. But I do think that it's as we get closer and closer to the postseason that it is concerning looking at some of these rotations that we have and how ineffective they've been. Kyce looked

like a bonehead to night. I don't know what was going on there, but I like, I just I have some concerns about about the playable rotations in an actual playoff series. And I just feel like we're getting to the point where it's like maybe seven to eight guys, and if the rotation is that short and you get a bad game out of Paul George and or Harden, that's gonna be like that's just gonna be a tough road to ho I don't know how else to put it. You mentioned Daniel Tye there, and

I wonder how much of that was rust. He played eighteen minutes, but it was the first time he had played in I think ten days, which is interesting. Some guys look like they were playing really hard out there. I felt like if E's the Zubas was trying to make up for everybody else's mistakes. But he's going up against the Bonis and there's an individual battle going on there where you know, he's got a tough of an assignment where he

can't do everything like sorry, that's not gonna happen. He had eleven boards and four off into rebounds, and I felt like was playing really hard. He didn't shoot the ball that well. I at least like the fact they gave him fourteen shots. But there were other guys. Yeah, they waited

too long. Probably they waited too long, and then you're down. You know, you go from being down four with eight minutes left in the third quarter to a couple minutes later being down fifteen, as we have seen too many times because of all the turnovers and live ball turnovers and giving the other

team, you know, too many opportunities. When you give a team sixteen more shots than you the likelihood that you're going to win that game on the road against a good team, a quality team still in the Sacramento Kings with their two main stars. It just makes things so much tougher. I just did it looked like they were trying to play the Kings game, trying to play too fast. That was one issue for me, Will But then also I don't know if it was mental fatigue over the road trip, but they

just looked like they lost focus. They absolutely looked like they lost because I mean, those turnovers were those those turnovers were really ugly looking. And yeah, I don't know, I guess I do think that they have all season long had an issue of maintaining their identity in game and not like not playing another team's game. I feel like it's kind of rare that we see the Clippers sort of impose their sort of tempo and their sort of style of play

on another team. And I think that that was one thing that they were more effective at doing during that win streak, you know, leading up into the Grammy road trip before the break, and I just haven't seen that same level, like even in these wins and where processes looked a lot better. The defense has looked a lot better. The rebounding from Kawhi and Paul George

has looked so much better. I just don't feel like I've seen the same level of being able to impose both like their tempo and style of play on a game. And that is kind of troubling because you're not gonna beat another team playing their game. Seven games we're up against it here, Will, I didn't mean to cut you off, but to me, that point kind of speaks to lacking that identity. What are you trying to force teams to play? What is your style of play? Like you're forcing them to adjust

to you, but what's your style of play? I don't It's been a little bit of a moving target. Big Will update has been with us tough defensive team that is bottom three defensively over the last two months. Will, thanks for doing this tonight a little clips and doubled it absolutely. Thanks for having me. Let's go clip quick time out. We'll come back, we'll close things out. Clippers losing Sacramento. This is the Patriot AM eleven fifty.

They want to bring a banner with them to the into a dollar more LA. Clippers basketball on the La Clippers Audio Network Clippers losing Sacramento their next game back at Crypto against the Denver Nuggets on Thursday night. Before we get out of here, I do want to address something that Coach Lou said postgame. I brought this up. The one thing that I've identified that's changed offensively for this team and adjustment by the opposition over the last couple of months.

They've been blitzing James Harden and trapping him much more, slowing him down, taking him out and them out of their offense. And Coach Lou chalked up him going one for seven tonight to the King's blitzing and out letting Harden play. He thought he could have tried to get him more ISOs, but says the Clippers have to handle blitz is better. Well, seven games left.

Figure it out here. Before we get out of here.
