Welcome into your post game show. I'm at a Oslin. This is Clippers Locker Room. Coming up on the
Patriot Am eleven fifty. We'll have Clippers stock for you. Eight seven seven five to zero eleven fifty eight seven seven five two zero eleven fifty is the phone number. Your radio voice of the Clippers is back with us in Carlo Jimenez. So, Carlo, we've been talking about it as this game was winding down. Basically from the seven minute mark of the fourth quarter on.
But the biggest difference in this one is just in Game four, you get sixty six points on twenty three of thirty six shooting from PG and James Harden tonight just twenty two points on six of twenty five from the field. Nearly impossible to win a ball game in a playoff series against a team of this caliber when your superstars just having off nightlights to night no one hundred percent out, I mean, your stars have to be stars. Ty Lu said that
at practice two days ago. At this point of the series, there's no new schematics, there's no wild cards, there's no plays that are going to surprise another team. I mean, you've been seeing each other now for two straight weeks almost so for the Clippers, it just becomes a game of who's going to outplay the other team. Man. The Clippers right now struggling to
get production from their superstars. You mentioned it combined six for twenty five, twenty two points, a third of what they gave them in Dallas on the road, and it felt like Adam at times in this game. The Clippers were looking towards their superstars, trying to see guide us, right, where are we going? Offensively, what's the plan on that end? And the Clippers couldn't really get it done. I mean, credit to Paul George and
James Harden, they've shouldered a lot of the load this series. They have heavy legs underneath them, There's no doubt about it. I'm sure there's a lot of mental wear and tear. But if the Clippers want to close the book on Dallas and beat them for the third time in the last five seasons, those two are going to have to have special performances in the next two nights. Yeah, it's gonna have to be similar to what they did in Game four in Dallas. And you know, Paul George only taking six shots
in the first half is what was most alarming to me. He gets four more up in the third quarter, three more up, but obviously was taken out of this ball game early in the fourth quarter. You just have to go out firing. To me, you gotta put them up because those are
the guys you do live and die by. Those are your stars. Either they're going to perform out there and find a rhythm, or else you're just not gonna be able to pull through against Luka Dancic and Kyrie Irving, who did have an off night, but Luca thirty five points twenty six shots to get there, and I didn't think overall Dallas played that great. That's what was a little bit alarming from this one. We talked about it early on, but the Clippers didn't look crisp, they didn't look sharp out there.
There were a lot of self inflicted wounds and miscues that got Dallas going and got this lopside of victory for the Dallas Mavericks. It's an excellent point, Adham. You talk about being aggressive, When do we ever say Luca didn't get enough shots up in this game, he didn't shoot the ball enough. I mean, this is a team for Dallas that continues to shoot the ball
with their superstars no matter what happens, no matter the game situation. Those guys are always firing from outside, from around the arc, and that's what you almost need from James Harden and Paul George put up twenty shots a game. No one will ever complain, No one will ever matter how many you've missed. It's how many you make at the end of the day. I think you're right, those guys have to be more aggressive in this game. You're right. When you look at his box score and you take away the
score, you'd say, all right, the Clippers outrebounded Dallas. Possession was tied. Clippers forced ten turnovers, fifteen is too many for them. The Clippers minus ten points in the paint, but they outrebounded on the offensive glass. There's a lot of pluses that you'd see in wins, but the score itself does not reflect that because of the three point shooting and because of the lack of support from the superstars. Yeah, nine of thirty five from the
outside. And when this game really turned in favor of the Dallas Mavericks, we identified it quickly. It was Maxi Kliba nearly getting his offense unglued. He had been efficient, but he hadn't taken too many three pointers so far in this series. And he got four wide open looks that he was able to knock down in that second quarter, and that's when Dallas started to pull away and also offer a different weapon and a different problem for the Clippers to
have to worry about out there. The role players for Dallas, everyone not Kyrie and Luca Adam had shot twenty five percent in the first four games in this series, and then you look at them today. You get five from Kleva too late from Jaden Hardy if you want to include those, but two more from Jerrick Jones Junior, and you only get three from Luca and Kyrie. Credit Dallas. Their role players stepped up today. They did in the
absence of their superstars. You got twelve from Lively, you got fifteen from Cleva. That's twenty seven off the bench. Derek Jones Junior gave your twelve hit two threes, had three blocks in this game. Their role players stepped up. Their role players won. Then this game. The Clippers are going to need everyone on Friday, especially their starters, but also their role players. I think Norman Palell once again just one for six from three, Russell
Westbrook two for eleven off the bench in this one. Can you get more production from those guys in the next game, That's gonna be the question. And then also just taking care of the basketball. Fifteen turnovers for the Clippers, twenty one points off those turnovers for Dallas. The Clippers have to treat the basketball more carefully in this one. They did not have a field goal for nearly eight minutes in this game, and it was because they were giving
it away. Yeah, and their best will be demanded out of them Friday night in Dallas in a must win situation. As you said, the Clippers backs are officially against the wall. It's a winner, go home ball game as they lose to Night Game five one twenty three to ninety three. Here in downtown Los Angeles to the Dallas Mavericks. Welcome back into your Clippers' locker room show. I'm Adam Mosland. We will have Carlo jmenez on on Clippers Talk tonight on the Patriot Am
eleven fifty. Get on early eight seven seven five two zero eleven fifty eight seven seven five two zero eleven fifty as he's hanging out still so we can talk about some of this box score as we just did the last segment. But the three point shooting, Carlo nine of thirty five after you hit well twice as many threes as that in their two victories in Game four and in
Game one. I'm not saying they're living and dying by the three, but it's been necessary for this team, especially without Kawhi Leonards, just to generate some points, and they hit a lot of tough three pointers in that game four, while missing a lot of easy three point open looks. Tonight here in game five, Yeah, if you looked at the two wins at him and you just looked at the box shoor each the Clippers have to make eighteen
threes to win. We know that's not the case. I mean, you were within six in game three, you struggled to shoot the three ball. Clippers were within they were led by six in game two and they had their worst shooting game of the season. So I think for this Clipper team, you have to find ways at him to not rely on that three ball. The fun to get it going inside that going d Vitcha Zubats early was excellent,
getting out in transition. They finished with twelve fast break points. They got to pound the paint for this Clipper team, as Tylu says, get to the paint or die trying. And I don't think the Clippers did enough of that. Outscored by ten in the paint in this ball game. That was the key. In game four, they had twenty points in the paint in the four quarter and this one just forty six on the game. Well, and to me what's most surprising is I Viza Zubats starts off four to
four with eight points in the first quarter. He attempts four shots the rest of the ball game. I say it all the time, but it's like they forget about zoos. Sometimes he just gets lost in the shuffle and when you need easy points, that is an avenue you can take out there. But it's been this way for years now and Aviza Zubats not being aggressive enough.
He's got to do his part as well, of course, but this Clippers team in a series like this without Kawhi Leonard for now three ball games, it just makes it really difficult on yourself to just rely on jump shots and over the top jump shooting, because if guys are having off nights like we saw with Paul George and James Harden, it's hard and that floor gets shrunk in a hurry by the Dallas Mavericks. I say in Dallas, that's their plan. They want to pack the paint. They want to make the
Clippers take them int r in jumpers and run them off the line. We've seen them do that all series long, and today it worked out. They ran the Clippers off the line and they forced them to take tough mid range twos and James Harden didn't have the floaters going early. Dormant palad a couple. But if you're the Clippers, physicality has been an X factor in this series. The more physical team has won the game, and today Dallas six
blocks to the Clippers zero. They were the more physically imposing team all game long. Yeah, and ever since Game one when Jason Kidd called out his squad for not being as physical in that opening contest. Here, they've met the challenge. They've met the Clippers when it comes to physicality, and like you said, we're much tougher out there tonight in this one. They win one twenty three to ninety three. In Game five here at Crypto dot Com
Arena, quick time out, we'll come back. Still getting ready for Clippers talk on the Patriot A eleven fifty if you want to call in early eight seven seven five to two zero eleven fifty eight seven seven five to two zero eleven fifty. He's gonna join us for Clippers Talk. Eight seven seven five two zero eleven fifty eight seven seven
five two zero eleven fifty is the phone number well. Also here from coach Lou post game. An early quote from him is something we talked about as the game was unfolding. He said, quote, had some gambles that really cost us early in the game, got them going. That's what got Maxi Kleeba going, and some open ones. A couple of gambles by Russell Westbrook
defensively just can't happen. One from Mason Plumley in that second quarter, and Dallas was able to outshoot the Clippers offense, which was just inept in this ballgame, even just going fourteen of thirty nine from the outside just thirty six percent, but the Clippers nine of thirty five from three makes all the difference in the world. But Maxi Cleeve of those four to three pointers in the second quarter really opened things up for them, had the Clippers scrambling defensively,
and I think it was one of the keys. And one of the storylines in this loss is the Clippers lose by thirty in Game five outside of Los Angeles. We'll talk to you on Friday in Game six, must win situation for the Clippers, tiptime at six thirty pre game at five thirty outside of Los Angeles. Well, sometimes during a long regular season, you identify certain games, you circle certain games, you highlight them and say this is a must win ball game. Game six in Dallas will literally be a must six or must win ballgame four Los Angeles Clippers. They lose Game five one twenty three, two ninety three, and they're down three
games to two in this best of seven first round series. Welcome into Clippers Talk. I'm Adam oslind eight seven seven five two zero eleven fifty eight seven seven five zero eleven to fifty is the phone number coming up you'll hear from
coach Lou. We'll get to your phone calls, but first I want to get back over to your radio voice of the Clippers in Carlo Jimenez, as we continue to unpack a thirty point loss by the Clippers, where I don't want to say they didn't show up, but I do want to say that they lacked a certain amount of focus out there and sharpness in a playoff game.
Maybe they were tired legs. Maybe the workload for PG and James Harden is starting to catch up with them, especially James Harden, with playing over forty minutes a game in the playoffs, but the turnovers, the mental errors out there defensively, where you look at that first half, Dallas has fifty six points, but they're five to twenty one from the outside, and the
Clippers only scored forty six. They gave up some easy buckets. It got Dallas's offense unglued, and then the Clippers offensively, they just didn't have it tonight. From three. They didn't have a rhyme or reason out there. It looked more like we like what we saw here in Game two of this series with Kawhi Leonard, where people at that time were saying, well it
maybe he messed up the flow. Well, Kawhi Lennard was not out there tonight, and the Clippers still struggled offensively to this degree while having too many lapses defensively, Carlo one hundred percent out of them. I mean, in this one, the Clippers allowed Dallas to shoot sixty three percent in the second half. It's just an absurd number by the Mavericks. Of course, a
couple of those shots late seven minutes to play in the fourth quarter. But I think for this Clippers team, you gotta find a way when your offense isn't working and shots aren't falling, can you still be successful on the offensive end, And that's where they struggled. They went without a field goal for ten minutes of game action in this game. It's something that in losses they've struggled with. I mean, two games prior to this one that they've lost,
they've scored under one hundred points. Now three in this series that they've lost, they scored in a one hundred. So Clipper's got to figure out a rhythm offensively. I don't know where that comes from. Usually it's been from Kawhi Leonard, but the adjustment without him has been drastic. Some of those runs in between quarters where this started to get away from them, Well, the first quarter they went five minutes, scoring just one point. Obviously
at the free throw line they got outscored eight to one. Second quarter in two minutes and six seconds eight to two run. Clippers only scored at the charity stripe. Third quarter six and a half minutes, a twenty to four run. Those four points, you guessed it at the charity stripe. And then in the fourth quarter. As things we're getting inconsequential as turning into garbage
time and it was getting late early. You could say there was a twelve to one run in a six minute stretch, so you know, it felt like tonight. It was on both ends by this Clippers team. When they defended, they couldn't score. When they scored, they couldn't defend. If it wasn't one thing, it was another. And that's how you see a thirty point loss in a playoff game, in a really significant spot where you had control of the series, winning Game four and having a chance to win
two home games to take it to take it to the next round. That's not the case. Now. They need some more of that grit and guts we saw in Game four to extend this series and bring it back here for Game seven. Carlof and credit this team, Adam. They've been excellent this season. When the pressure is on, you think about nobody's come back down from twenty or more. They've been one of the best road teams of this season, the best since December first. They've been one of the better teams
when they drop by ten or more points in the first quarter. No team has more wins down ten after the first quarter than the Clippers. So this is a team that kind of needs to feel the heat to really play their best basketball. And the heat's on high right now, and so the question is can you do what you've been doing all season long? And that's when you need to perform before. But that's gonna be the question for the Clippers.
Yeah, when their backs have been against the wall, when they lost six straight early on James Harden comes in, they lose five in a row, you know, they came out swinging and they went on that twenty six and five run. So they have performed in tough spots before, none tougher than when your seasons on the line. In Game six on Friday night, let's get to some phone calls. Eight seven seven five two zero eleven fifty eight seven seven five to zero eleven fifty is the phone number after the Clippers
lose one twenty three to ninety three in Game five. Here at Crypto dot Com, Arena Hoabier and Lahabra Heights start things off here on Clippers Talk. You got Adam Oslin, your radio voice of the Clippers, and Carlojmenez on what's up Aavier? Hey, Carlo by doing Adam so Bavier good good Good. I was talking to Katie when it called it, she said, Javier, save your rants for later. They still out the game on Friday,
so I'm gonna save my rant till to that day comes. But like you said, Carlo, I mean, you know day they throw on situations like this. So they got another game on Friday. I mean, they're still alive. So the only thing I do know is just like this is, like you said, Adam, just a game five, important game, and I just I think you lose by thirty points. I mean I understand you lose by a couple of points, you know here and there, but thirty points at home. I mean, I just like you said, they're not
prepared. Was it the players are tired? Yeah, they're older team, we know that, But is it coaching? I mean, I just you cannot lose by thirty when the game that you don't have to win. But like you said, Adam, it would have been nice to don't won the game. It was just one two more another game at home, game seven, that would have been it. But you cannot lose by thirty. I
mean that's that's just that's I don't know, that's it, guys. I'll just thought you guys on Friday. All the good news is it doesn't count for two losses, even though they lost by thirty. Adam, I don't think you can lose a series down three, too, right, you gotta lose four games. So coach lou didn't say that as well postgame. It takes four to win a series. So and he knows. Look, things got away from them in that third quarter. After being down ten at the
half, they get down twenty. They lose the third quarter thirty three to twenty three. And they had I want to say, three turnovers in the first three minutes or four turnovers in the first four minutes of that third quarter, and when you had to be at your best, when you had to turn things back in your favor. Already down double digits, the Clippers, if anything, uh just got worse with some of those miscues out there, one hundred percent. I mean, you look at what Dallas started that quarter
and half equally as poorly than the Clippers did. There. At one point, we had six total points and six total turnovers between the two teams. The door was open and the Clippers just unable to step through it. That's I think that's what's encouraging about this game is this. I don't think there's anything in you know, I'm not a coach, I'm not in the locker room. But when you look at the box score, outside of Kleba knocking
down threes, there's not much irregularity on the Dallas side. Right. So for the Clippers, you got to get a hand out to Maxical Liba and your stars got to be stars. And in this game, your stars weren't stars, and maxically but killed you. Yeah. To me, that's where things got away from them. That was their downfall that second quarter with Maxi Klee but getting wide open three pointers. Michael in Alhambra, you're on Clippers stop with out of Maslin and Carlo Jimenez Hi, Michael oh in Alabama,
Rode roll tied. I wish I could save for go Clippers. Right now, I will say this, I'm like our last caller. I'm gonna be a little bit more ramful, just on a respectful note. I've been a PG supporter for god knows how long I've been a supporter for him. He's been doing in Indiana, but right now and the way he's been looking for the past couple of seasons, he's just too inconsistent to really carry this team. And I know if Kawhia it's especially difficult. But look, you're a
superstar. You want superstar money, you want the back contract, you gotta play like it every single game. And I know that we give a lot of heck for James Harden, but I mean at the same time, look, look, PG is broad there to be that guy still and he has never accepted that role. So as much as it kills me to say this, I'm going to just flat out say I think we need to go ahead and just drop drop it, like, bring bring back Kawhi for sure, and Harden. Yes, I love Hardon, but my gosh, oh me,
oh my? Was has he been inconsistent this season? Well, it's fair to say he's been an inconsistent star in this league. He's a rhythm shooter. He goes through cold streaks, he goes through hot streaks. I would make the point that he led them to the Western Conference Finals in twenty twenty one when Kawhi Leonard went down at the end of Game four against the
Utah Jazz. He has put the team on his back at times, but James Harden was brought here to support two one, three, and right now they're missing the two and PG thirteen you can say in game three and now in Game five, just hasn't been good enough overall, Carlo No no, I mean, outside of one good half, it really his last three games
for Paul George had been a little bit of a struggle. Did have an amazing shot in Game four, no doubt about it, but just seven points in that second half, seven points to night seven points in Game three. So Paul George just has to be aggressive. I mean, at the end
of the day, he's got to get twenty shots up. We talked about it with Tyler after Game one when there were Game two when James Harden had shot eleven threes in Game one and ten threes in Game two, and he said he wants Paul George and James Harden to be shooting ten threes a game. He wants them to get up twenty shots a game, and today just not aggressive enough from those two guys. It's a weird issue because they probably
feel like they're adam the rhythm. They gotta affect the games in other ways, but they need to score the basketball for this team to be successful. Sixty six combined points in Game four. That's why you win the ballgame. We'll see if they are more aggressive with their backs against the wall in game six. Yeah. I mean, we know what a great playmaker James Harden is, we know what a great defender Paul George is. But they have
to have a score first mentality right now. Without Kawhi Leonard, it starts there. Clippers lose tonight one twenty three to ninety three in Game five here at Crypto dot com arena, we will take a quick time out Carlo Jimenez. Thanks for joining me once again here on Clippers Stop, my friend. We'll talk to you in Dallas for Game six on Friday, Yes, sir,

twenty three ninety three to the Dallas Mavericks. I'm Adam Oslin, welcome back into Clippers Talk. It was cool to have your radio voice of the Clippers. Carlo Jimenez joined me for that first segment. Eight seven seven five to zero eleven fifty eight seven seven five to zero eleven fifty is the phone number. Let's go to Nate in Patterson. Nate, what's up? And he'd gone to this Clippers team lost a game where I just didn't think the Dallas
Mavericks even executed that well. And that's what's disheartening tonight. I don't think the Dallas Mavericks by any means we're at their best. Luca still went to eight from three, he had thirty five. He had a step back over each a zoobots for a couple of them. But it was a game where if the Clippers just come out with the right mindset and just don't look so
disorganized on the defensive end, especially in the first half. But laboring the point, but those maxi Kliba threes to me were as consequential as anything. It just didn't look like they had they were in the right mental headspace in a game five like this, in a situation where you win Game four, and I don't know if there was an emotional letdown coming off of that, but my goodness, the game plan. I'm not putting it on that.
I'm putting it on guys being out of position defensively and Paul George taking six shots in the first half. I don't care if you only have seven points in the first half. The issue to me is only putting up six shots, put up ten, go out shoot and go out firing. You have to well, we have a moment. Let's pause ten seconds for station identification. Here on the Patriot AM eleven fifty. This is LA Clippers Basketball AM
eleven fifty k EV Los Angeles and iHeartRadio station. James Harden takes twelve shots total, Paul George thirteen. They combined to hit six After those two each had thirty three points in Game four. The role players, I thought Terrence Man was really good. He inter beats the Zubats were really good in the first half, but the game got away from him. I was perplexed by the fact that to start the third quarter they seemed intent on getting a mere
coffee going. He had three shots in the first three minutes of the third. Like, if we can just get a mere Coffee going, he can be a source of offense. He can help supply or supplement some of the lack of scoring out there. A mere Coffee has fifteen points total in this series. He was one of six. He had was say three or four shots that rattled in and out. He was frustrated. Norman Powell one of six from three. I like the fact that he eventually just started to go
to the basket. Missed a couple of three pointers early crossed up a Dallas Maverick probably got too excited, launched one, missed badly, and his shot kind of looked off from there. It still didn't deter him from getting downhill and attacking. But five or twelve, fourteen points. No one scored more than fifteen points on the ballgame for the Clippers. Can't win like that against Dallas. So again, I thought had their C plus game at best.
But the Clippers were just woefull out there, pitiful performance in a huge game. I think we have to be honest about that. I'm not saying it was for a lack of effort, just the execution wasn't there, not good enough even without Kawhi Leonard. I mean, Luka Doncers is hurting right now. You can tell apparently he's had an illness, but that sprain left knee, make it, I believe right knee. It's noticeable. And I just don't know if the game plan discipline was there to attack him to get it
him. But things tend to fall apart when you're two stars have shooting nights like this where they don't even want to put up shots. That's that's what gets to me a little bit. That's what's unacceptable. You have to take more than thirteen shots if you're Paul George in a game without Kawhi Leonard period, and he's had two stinkers. Game three, score just seven points.
He was in foul trouble in that one, not tonight. So all around, just brutal, brutal performance from your Los Angeles Clippers and their seasons on the line. In game six, we'll talk about that. We'll get back to your phone calls. Eight seven seven five two zero eleven fifty eight seven seven five to two zero eleven fifty is the phone number we'll also hear from coach lou coming up next here on clipperstock on the Patriot AMLM fifty fat to

Clippers Mavericks continues now stream us anywhere you go on the iHeartRadio app. It was once twenty three to ninety three at home to the Dallas Mavericks in Game five. They lose by thirty during a must win situation. Game six is coming up Friday in Dallas, Tip time six thirty. We'll have your pregame show starting at five point thirty. You know, people, well not people. Rough stands have
gone after me a lot this season. Whenever I criticized Russ the same way I would criticize anyone else when he has a bad game or when they have a bad game for some reason. Russ is untouchable and you can't talk about him. He is six for his last thirty five shots, six for thirty five. It's incomprehensible. Since Game two, he's had seven fouls, six turnovers, and six made shots while shooting seventeen percent from the field. I thought we might see bones Island. I thought we might see him. I
know we did once the game was over. But if Russ isn't given the effort defensively, And this is why I always say everybody wants to talk about energy. I'm here for the execution. That's what's most important. And I thought when he came in that second quarter stint with him and Mason Plumley, well they got all scored thirty one to twenty two. Defensively, Russ Gambling tried to go for maybe a highlight steal in jam. I understand he's home.
He wants to get the crowd into it. He's been getting into it with the Dallas Mavericks crowd, got caught up emotionally in this series, got ejected from Game three. He's completely playing outside of himself. The bad John Berry took at the end of the first quarter, you end up taking three three pointers oh three, probably missed four layups. I don't know. I don't know how you make up for that. If he's gonna be this important of a player on this team and he's playing this poorly, that can torpedo
you. I love Russ. I was really hopeful in the second half that he could be the guy to be a spark. It never happened. I don't know what's gonna happen in Game six. If he's gonna be on a much shorter leash to coach lose credit. He only played fifteen minutes, but it's all hands on deck, and you have a guy that over the last four games now has just been unbelievably willful with this shooting percentage six for his
last thirty five from the field. Someone on Twitter got to me and said, well, you want to take Russe out, Well, then I guess you got to take Paul George and James Harden now too, because they're shooting poorly. Let me explain the difference. You have to live and die with those guys. They're either going to turn it around or you're going to lose. I don't think you have to live and die with Russell Westbrook. He's a backup coming off the bench. That's the role he's in, all right.
Let's hear from coach lou postgame after the Clippers lose one twenty three to ninety three. Here in game five, coaches, tonight's game an example of anything that could go wrong did go wrong for you and your team. Yeah, we just didn't play well, get all around, defensively, offensively, we just didn't play a good game, you know, And so's okay, you know, turn a page. Like I said, you still got to win four games, and we know we can win on their floor. We've
shown that the past two playoff series. We was down three to the first time we played them. So you know, we didn't play our best game and we understand that. I think we all understand that collectively, and so we'll be better for Game six ty. On that note, what do you think attributed to all those things aren't going your well, I don't know, you know, not making shots, not defending, had some gambles that really
cost us early in the game. They kind of got them going. It was a two point game here and there, and you know, we had three gambles gave up eight points, you know, so that kind of got them going, especially with Maxi cleeveand making those two threes on some gambles. But like I said, overall, we just you know, we wasn't good on both sides of the basketball and we just had a bad game. And
give them credit, they played well as well. How much did their defense concentrate on James and PG kind of take them out what they were doing a lot, you know, they've been doing it for the series. You know, so we understand the space that we need to get to. We understand how we need to play. I thought we got into our stuff a little too slow at times, and then we just didn't attack the right way, you know, So we gotta be better for Game six, in which we
will be ty Sometimes it's a make or miss league. You missed twenty six to three pointers? Is that an off night? Were they doing something defensively to you, guys? I mean we didn't shoot the ball well, Well, we didn't play well either, so it kind of goes hand in hand. You know, we didn't do the right things. We didn't play the right style of basketball like we did in Dallas, and so we understand that and we just got to be better. Hey, ty guys obviously over here,
guys obviously have to have a very short memory after this game. What's your message to them tonight to ensure that that happens going into Game six? I don't have a message, Tye. A hardened was so good in this series up till tonight. What do you talk tonight up to? Being human? You know, he's allowed to have a bad game. You know, we did shoot the ball well. They try to get up and pressure them a little bit, which we didn't handle like we have in the first four
games, and so he just you know, he can play bad. You know, it's possible, you know, So he didn't play well. You know, so I got to do a better job getting in better situations and then get ready for Game six, which I know he'll be better over the course of the game. Obviously, the misshots. You've said before, when guys miss shots, you need them to stay locked and not get frustrated, not drop the hedge because the defense will allow you to eventually come back.
Seemed like that really wasn't the case. The defense got worse his game went on, Like what did you observe from that perspective and how can that be better? Just wasn't connected at times, you know, we wasn't connected on the defensive end, and even to start the game, like I said, we have some gambles that cost us, but we just wasn't connected defensively, and so you know, we got to be better in that reguard, especially against you know, a dynamic offensive team like this, and we got to
be better. TD. What do you see with Russ and his struggles offensively? You know, us not be able to get stops and let him get out in transition and attack early in transition, you know, really hurts us. And so, you know, but he's been good. Just keep attacking the basket, keep making the right play, and I got to do a better job of getting in better situations. But if we're not getting stops when he's on the floor, then it's hard for him to be who he is.
See, just just to follow up, I know, obviously you lost the game, and then there's the points and everything, but Luke and Kyrie, especially Kyrie not being able to get going from the three point line specifically, Like, is there some level of just an accomplishment from the game plan perspective just being able to limit them. Yeah, I think, you know,
getting back and just try to keep Kyrie out of transition. You know, I think our half court defense against him has been pretty good, you know, so you know, the way he's been playing, you know, he's been playing lights out. So we was looking for one of these games to happen, but we didn't, you know, like I said, Cleveland having fifteen points off the bench, five for seven from three, and then we knew, you know, at some point Luke was gonna have a you
know, a Luca game, you know. So, like I said, we're not gonna hang our heads. You know, you got to win four games. We go to Dallas game six on Friday, and we'll be ready to go. Ti Cuman. You mentioned every game in the playoffs thereas obviously it's on chapter. Is there any carry over, any emotional letdown from a win like the other night? No, every game is different, you know, in the playoffs matter if you win by one of you win by fifty, it's a win. And so you know, no letdowns. I mean,
you know, we know we can play better. We didn't play well at all, you know, and so some things we got to correct. And then getting ready for Friday, Toy, how do you mentally get them over a night like this going into Friday, like mentally to get over this hurdle, this type of long mentally knowing that we lose game six, our season's over. So if you're a competitor and you know what the playoffs are
all about, then you'd be ready to go on Friday. Coach Lou post game there brought up something we have been harping on stressing the importance of because it's when the game started to get away from them. Maxi Kleiba gets in the game at the nine to forty two mark of the second quarter. It's
twenty nine, twenty seven. The Clippers are down by two. Russ gambles Maxi three, another Maxi three as I believe it was Mason Plumley gambling, another Maxi three, as I believe it was Russell Westbrook gambling again, and they're down forty one to thirty three, and they eventually get down by ten in the first half. And that type of game plan that those type of miscues assignment wise, that's on the players, like you can just play them straight up, stay on your man, stop trying to go for steals.
Because Maxi Kliba was just getting Wide Open three after Wide Open three, and we wondered what role player could really swing this series. I think it's fair to say right now it's Maxi Kleba. Clippers lose Game five one twenty three to ninety three. Here at Crypto dot Com Arena coming up all preview. Game six will close things out with big Brother Jake Warner. I'm Gonta Maslin live from Crypto dot Com Arena. After the Clippers drop this once tonight they're
down three games to two. It's a must win Game six coming up Friday in Dallas. As coach LUs said, if you're a competitor, what more do you know? You gotta get up with that game or Clippers stuck. Here on the Patriot amblen fifteen streaming Clippers basketball the first round of the NBA Playoffs continue. Sack to more NBA playoff basketball right here on the La Clippers Audio Network was rolling back to Dallas for Game six, must win situation.
They are down three games to two after they lose by thirty in Game five here at Crypto dot Com Arena. Heard from coach Lou in our last segment here on Clipper Stock on the Patriot AM eleven fifty, talk about, rightfully so, how they weren't good on either side of the basketball offensively defensively.
I don't know how you have this much of a letdown coming back home after a wild, a gritty, a resilient Game four victory where yeah, they let go of the rope some they were up thirty one, but they made all the big shots down the stretch to pull it out. Anyways, a team that they were up thirty one on in Dallas in Game four, just beat them by thirty back their place. How does that happen? And now the season's on the line, Well, it starts with your stars just not
showing up. I hear what coach Lou's saying about James Harden. This was his first bad game of this He had been averaging twenty six on extreme efficiency. Coming into this game. He had been their best player easily. I think their second best player in this series has been a Beata Zubats. You wouldn't know it, or you'd at least expect it to be Paul George.
But in between the Game four brilliance and a great half, he had seven points in Game three and fifteen points tonight in thirty two minutes where he took just thirteen shots beats. The Zubats has been consistent. When they get him the basketball, good things happen. The problem is getting there and guys realizing they should play through him more. I was just on during the break,
I've been jumping in back and forth on clips and Dip. There's a live going on which Monckler will Updyke and Joseph raah Ward, and I said, you know, one of the failures. I think of the two one three era has been not getting a beatsa zubots involved enough. I say it all the time, but there is another path to victory. He is a very skilled player, and it almost looks like sometimes he just gets iced out. They just completely forget about him. And it's not just sometimes, it's the
majority of the time. He's too good to not be more of a focal point offensively with everything he does for you defensively, a top three room protector in this league pretty much since he got here when he was playing with the Lakers. Two. We'll see what happens in Game six. Tubber's guys show some heart, some great, some toughness, because it's not just this season
being on the line, but the two win three era.
