Clippers Fall 110 to 104 to the Mavericks

Transcript

The game is over. Paul George money in the pain, but the postgame reaction has just be gone. Gohi Leonard is so smooth in the mid range. This is Clippers locker Roo, a recap of today's game and a look ahead on your home for La Clippers basketball at now your host, You, sir, are a bad man, Adam Oslin. Clippers returned home to fall one ten to one, all fours to the Dallas Mavericks and Kyrie Irving. Welcome into your post games show. Coming up, we'll get to your final

box score. You'll hear from the head coach and the players after this one, but first we get back to your voice at the Clippers in Noah Eagle. You know, no, I don't say it very often, but this felt like a game that may have been lost in the first quarter where the Clippers got down by nineteen and had to battle back or ice skating uphill. You could say you brought it up. Yeah, it just it just wasn't the urgency that they needed to start the game. Where then part of it

was that Dallas just shot the lights out in that first quarter. They couldn't miss from three. Reggie Bullock went five for five in the first quarter from three and then went one for seven the rest of the game, so you know, the law of averages does kind of bounce back. But overall, Dallas still shot at seventeen to thirty five from three, and if they're gonna do that without Luka don Chiz, it's gonna be hard to beat them,

especially with Kyrie irving and closing time. We saw some of the finishes that he had. You know, it's a tough loss for the Clippers. There's no really beating around the bush in this one. And now this next twenty four hours are really less than that. Next twelve hours is going to be fascinating. LA is going to have to make some decisions, figure out what they want to do if they want to roll with the roster they've got.

But the trade deadline is always an interesting time around the NBA, and the Clippers being one of the teams that believe they can win a title this year, certainly with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, they're gonna have to take a good, long, hard look in the mirror and figure out what makes the most sense. But the pieces are in place, no doubt about it. It's just about playing the right way on a consistent basis, and who was

saying it beats the Zubot's last game, Nick Batombs talked about it. The consistent effort has to be there, and the first quarter it just really wasn't. And even more bizarre, Kawhi Leonard took just four shots in that first half. Now he made up for it in the third quarter at thirteen points

there, but ends up with just twelve shot attempts in the night. Yeah, a little surprising from Kawhi just didn't really look like his assertive self, certainly early in the game and one of the two of the two on three connection. It's felt like they've done a really good job of late during this

more recent winning streak. Let's call it not a full winning streak, but had one eight of ten games coming in and eight of nine with the two of them on the floor, they've done a really good job of one of them stepping up in the first quarter to set the tone, and it felt like they didn't have that today and they got pulled early. Terrence Man actually was the one who did it, but at some point that well dries out.

Man finishes with twenty one points twelve of them in the first You know, it's a disappointing loss, it really is, and I think that Peg and Kawai will certainly feel like they could have done more. I think that the Clippers defensively in that fourth quarter just didn't do enough. And then Tim Hardaway Junior hits that dagger three. You know, if they get that one more stop, you say, okay, you can make it a one possession game. And then you play the free throw game and anything is possible.

And we've seen crazy things, but it just wasn't meant to be tonight. Sometimes that's the case, to make her miss league and Clippers miss tonight. Kyrie Irving finishes with twenty four points in his debut as a Dallas Maverick. He did make an impact late. He hit that tough fade away over Kawhi Leonard, who got him back with a block the next time down. But yeah, in a game where he just has twenty four, I thought he

might be gunning for forty in this one in his premiere. But the Clippers lose one ten to one oh four here in downtown Los Angeles, coming off the six game road trip. They return home not a safe haven tonight. They'll get back after it though, on Friday against a team they just saw in the Milwaukee Bucks. Looking for some revenge. Look, they couldn't pull it off against the Denver Nuggets, but this is a chance for redemption against

Milwaukee. This is a huge game Friday. They need it, Honestly, they needed for a variety of reasons, but the main one probably confidence, believing that you can compete with the top of the top up in the NBA. Tip time is at seven thirty. We'll have Clippers countdown for you starting at six thirty. Noah, okay, noah, okay, great to see it. We'll see it back here. I'm care wait at him. I'm ready to go already, let's get back to it. Coming up your final

box score. Clippers fall by six to Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks. Here at downtown Los Angeles and you're listening to the Los Angeles Clippers. Reaching a minute, he was blocked by George. You can also reach me on Twitter at follow Adam A. Dallas ends up shooting fifty three per from the field, but they go seventeen of thirty

five from distance. That's forty nine percent. After that hot start where they were nine of thirteen from three in the first quarter and they put a forty one spot on the Clippers in the opening twelve minutes, they scored just forty points and the next two quarters combined. The Clippers defense was better but not good enough late where Dallas scored twenty nine points in the fourth quarter some more

big three pointers. Penston hit a couple, went two of two and the fourth from distance, and then Tim Hardaway Junior with a dagger three as he was four of nine from the outside. Kyrie Irving, in his debut as a Maverick, had twenty four points for the Clippers, They were led by Norman Powell. He had twenty four himself eight of seventeen from the field, but their two stars, Paul George just twenty points Kawhi Leonard just eighteen.

But the number that sticks out to me attempted just twelve, just twelve shots in this ball game, and four of those came in the first half. It was bizarre. Clippers got off to a slow start and Dallas got off to a fast start and close fast in the end, they win one ten to one oh four. As the Clippers return home off the six game Grammy road trip to a loss, they lose by six of the Mavericks. Coming up next, we're preview Friday night's game right back here. Clippers taken on

Janis and then a Kompo and the Milwaukee Bucks. You're listening to the Los Angeles Clippers Radio Network. oh four to Kyrie Irving and the new look Dallas Mavericks. Welcome in to Clippers Stock. I'm out of Oslin. Coming up, we'll get to your phone calls. Eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six six ninety eight seven two five seventy is the phone number. You'll also hear from Coach Lou and the players. Plus Chuck will be here. Charles Mockler from Clips and Dip. We talked about a postgame with Noah Eagle. I thought this was a game that was lost in the first quarter by the Clippers,

who just came out absolutely flat. I said, key to the ball game. They can't have a road trip hangover. I've seen it before with this squad. I've seen it with other teams. You come back from a long road trip and you just don't look right that first game. Now, typically you got two days off before you play after a long road trip like that. They had one day off. Would have thought it'd be enough, though, for them to not give up forty one points in the first quarter.

Another first quarter where the opposition shot the lights out Brooklyn. Remember they were eight for twelve in the first quarter against them on Monday in Brooklyn. Tonight, Clippers come back home. The Mavericks go nine for thirteen in the opening quarter from three just hot shooting. Reggie Bullock started five of five from the outside. He couldn't miss anything, and the Clippers made it easier on them

by just missed assignments and poor defensive rotations along the perimeter. There were open three pointers. Not all three pointers are created equal there's a difference between a guy being in front of you and not and that stuff is actually categorized now on NBA dot Com. You can look at it. There's wide open threes, and there's open threes, and there were a lot of wide open threes,

not a guy within six plus feet of the shooter. So the Clippers let them get into a groove offensively early on, and then even when their defense was much better, where after giving up forty one points in that first quarter, they give up just forty combined over the second and third, and the Clippers were down just three heading into the fourth. But I think they started to run out a little bit of gas and the Stars didn't have it

tonight for whatever reason. This is one of the oddities of the season. Kawhi came out in the first half and attempted just four shots. He didn't make his first field goal till about the three minute mark of the second quarter, but taking just four, he ends up taking twelve, finished seven or twelve. So he got hot eventually in that third quarter where he at thirteen of his eighteen points, but that's just not enough. He only plays thirty

two minutes. Paul George plays thirty three and we just saw this post game. But Kawhi Leonard and this is coming from Justin Russo at Fly by Night, Clippers reporter, Kawhi Leonard and Paul George will see their minutes reduced and cut a little bit as the team heads into the All Star break. So a few more games where they're not gonna hit I'm gonna in the forty minute

mark. We'll see if they hit the thirty five minute mark. But in a game where there's no Luca don Chich and Dallas is playing for their first time with Kyrie Irving out there on the floor, for them to look like the team that had been together longer, it's just bizarre. I mean, Irving had twenty four, not a huge game, didn't hit his average. He did hit a tough fade away over Kawhi and the fourth quarter late.

Kawhi blocked him the next time down. But that sense of urgency from the Clippers you felt to kick in defensively not till the third quarter, really, where after the first time out they looked a little bit different. On that end, Kawai and Paul George trapped and got a steal on Kyrie Irving. Of beast, the Zoobots had a block, Kawhi was rolling. He had ten straight at one point for the Clippers and the third. But I've told

y'all season long people ask me their identity. They are consistently inconsistent game to game, quarter to quarter, possession to possession with just being locked in and focused. And what twenty four games remaining is that who they are at this point is something going to change. Could the next few hours heading into the trade deadline, which is at twelve pm Pacific tomorrow changed things for them?

I don't know, but this is who they've been. And even though they had won eight of their last ten, we told you there were problems in there. They still weren't playing great basketball. They hadn't peaked yet, which tells you the talent on this team that they could still win while not playing great and going in and out of playing quality basketball within games. But eventually

that stuff burns you against quality competition. Because what happened against Chicago and Atlanta, where they faltered down the stretch and got away with it and won those games. Anyways, it didn't work against Milwaukee when they were up twenty one, when they unraveled it led to a loss against a good ball club, and tonight they just didn't look to be engaged enough. That energy that you're

hoping to see, we saw it in the third quarter. But it can't just be for a quarter or a few minutes here and there and scattered like that. If you listen to the pregame show after the victory over Brooklyn on Monday to end the road trip where they went four and two successful road trip, Grammy road trip is tough, he said. Basically, they were sporadic with their play and consistency where they're not putting together complete games for forty eight

minutes. Tonight certainly underscored that point and Dallas won because of it. And even and though they didn't remain shooting that hot from the outside, after hitting nine three pointers in the first quarter, they'd hit just eight the last three quarters. They might have won off a couple of three pointers made in the fourth Tim Hardaway Junior or Dagger three. I thought Penson, who hit a really tough fall away three pointer early in the fourth quarter, I think I

put him up ten. That was brutal. He went two of two from three and the fourth and when the Clippers finally started to really ratchet up the defensive intensity, and you saw Kawai on Kyrie and they were trying to get him off of him, and they'd set a screen and try to get the switch with Marcus Morris, but they'd try to double Kyrie, but Dallas always found the open man when they were doubling, and they got a couple of easy layups. Powell had one. I think Tim Hardaway Junior had another.

They made him pay. Just seeing the Clippers, though, all of a sudden, bring that intensity, it was jarring because where was that earlier in the ball game and why did it take so long for them to get there. But it's been like this all season long, where they go in and out of playing really good basketball to lackluster basketball. Just the inconsistency. They

are consistently inconsistent. You have to say, that's what we've seen from this team for the most part this season, and tonight it's one of the most disappointing losses of the year. Coming off a four and two road trip, you're back home. You think there'd be some energy coming out tonight on opening tip with the crowd behind them underneath them, but Dallas was hitting shots early and outside of Terrence Man, who had twelve points in that first quarter,

nobody else was joining him. And the two stars Kawai and Paul George weren't good enough. Neither had more than twenty points. That's a little bit alarming. Clippers lose one ten to one four to the Dallas Mavericks. Let's start things off with rex In La rex R on Clipper stock without Amazin Adam.

I'm about to give you a hot take right now. It's coming up to the trade that line like you keep saying, you've been inconsistent for honestly since we have gotten quiet and Paul George would be go all the way back to the past three years. You try to rectify that situation with getting point guards or the leaders like let's say Rondo or John Wall or Earth but so and you think about it. One thing that was in common with all these guards

none of them could shoot or none of them are good shooters. I think that's the best time that we get someone. Sounds like you've been listening to me because I've talked about it pretty much every night recently. The difference is, Yeah, those guys not great shooters. They can't play off the ball or be that effective off the ball where some of the names that have been thrown out there now some of the possibilities. Yeah, those guys much better

shooters, and they're going to have to be. I think if they do make a move for a guard, it's going to be somebody that can play off of Kawai and Paul George and I just wanted to add one extra thing, a hot take, who they can trade for, because you talk about inconsistency. They need someone who is going to keep not just the world players, but the stars and keep them, you know, consistent. Two guys

come to my mind, Chris Paul and Draymond Green. I know these are two quite the hot takes, and Chris Paul's probably not even a reality, but I don't know. They need someone who's going to change the entire way this team's identity is because, like he keeps saying, it's inconsistently inconsistency. Right now, all right, Rex, I appreciate the phone call. Yeah,

those are definitely hot takes. Because Chris Paul coming back to the Clippers with the contract that he has, that would be very difficult to facilitate. Same with Draymond Green and his contract. But do I think there's gonna be a move made by the trade deadline tomorrow? Yeah, I'm sure there will

be. How big or substantial, I don't know. But this team is underperforming too often at times, and it's just confounding because you see their potential when they lock in, when they do have that focus, when they do look sharp out there. They're the team that we thought they'd be coming into this season, but it comes and goes. Let's go with Mike in La, Mike, what's up your on Clipper stock without I'm astin. Hey, Adam, you know, I kind of wish the Clippers could have pulled off

the trades of the Lakers pulled off today. They got younger, they got more, they got faster, meant really ultimately what the Clippers need even you know, I know we've talked about, you know, the need for a point guard and the point guard that can playoff of you know, PG and Kauai. That's just when you know, you look at this team, they just they feel so luggish so much of the time, and they're an older team. It's it's a fact, I think place of their advantage when the

game slows down in a playoff series. But you still got to get there first, and there's twenty four games left, and with the way things are in the Western Conference, every loss, every win is so crucial. I mean, they're you know what team I think out of the play a tournament. I think after tonight lost there in the sixth seed or in like a game away from a game out from being in the play it all Right tournament.

You know, I actually thought tonight's game would have been a good opportunity for someone like a mirror Poppy, just to you know, a guy who hasn't played much, but who has you know, really over the course of his career played well in meeting ful NBA game well. Coachler definitely tried some things. Musa Diabatte was out there in the first half. He try to shake things up to find some energy. Some of the doc rivers always used to say, how do you find that lineup that brings that energy and turns

a game back in your favor and you recapture that momentum. But it didn't really happen. That's a good point with Musa. Yeah, tried. I appreciate the phone call, Mike. You made some good ones as well. Yeah, Clippers in that sixth seed. Now Dallas is in the fourth seed. They just flip flopped and the Clippers are a game up on the seventh seed, which means a game outside of the playing tournament. Just a game

up on the New Orleans Pelicans. Tough one tonight. More Clippers dock coming up next after they fall one ten to one oh four to the Dallas Mavericks. We'll get back to your phone calls eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy as the phone number well here from Coach Low and Charles Macker will be here as well. You're listening to say am five seventy l sports. Oh, it's blocked by George.

This is LA Clippers basketball. He is a one man king Crawl, the defensive man on the home of your LA Clippers. Frustrating night for Clipper nations. The Clippers come back home, just lose to Kyrie Irving in his debut for the Dallas Mavericks one ten to one oh four. Irving had twenty four four more points than Paul George, six more points than Kawhi Leonard. Norman Powell did have twenty four off the bench for or A. Ten of those came in the fourth quarter for the Clippers, but not enough. They

lose by six. Welcome back in the Clippers stock. I'm out of Oslin. Coming up, we'll have Charles Mackler on and you'll hear from the head coach in sharn Lou Before we get back to your phone calls. Let's pause ten seconds for station identification here on M five seventy LA Sports. This is LA Clippers Basketball, A five seventy KLAC Los Angeles, ninety eight seven KYSR HD to Los Angeles and iHeart radio station Wallace and Plia del Rey, who

had the pleasure of meeting tonight here in downtown Los Angeles. Wallace, how you feeling about this all? Oh, thank you. Kyrie's super good. I'm just really impressed with him. But I don't think the Clippers should make any trades. I still love the Clippers. The only thing I see is

I don't see Cannard being integrated into the offense. I see him standing around, and I think, in this league, and you know, twenty twenty three, you've got a player like that who I really like, Leonardo A. Canard rather a lot, and I think you gotta look at tron lew And if I think if the Clippers have shortcomings this year, you've got to look at the coach. I think there's no other place to look, no trades. I see the most talented team in the league, Wallace. I

appreciate the phone call. You know. Luke Kennard has been out of the rotation some. He just played five minutes tonight, and he's been struggling since he came back the second time from the cafe injury. He hasn't looked like him self. He's been even less aggressive out there, and even when he has taken shots, I think he was one for six Monday against Brooklyn. They tried to get him going, he had some good looks, he couldn't get him to go. It's been like that since he's returned pretty much.

Lucanard has just been in a shooting slump, a deep one for his standards, especially Javier and Lahabra heights. Javier, you're on Clipper stock. What's up? Javier? I mean, what's up that? I think you were taking my call getting like you and Nova Annoy Eagle said, you can't start the game like that. I mean they lost the gaar on the first quarter. I mean, you're down nineteen points in the first quarter. I mean, that's that's that's hard to do. To get down nineteen in the opening

twelve minutes, that's not easy. Yeah. I mean you can say whatever you want to have, Like Doc Rivers when he was forcing the Clippers, and you know, he had to go like at least he had to Klippers ready to play every game. He he canning close the games, but he's hand ready to play. And ty Lou he's the opposite. It always come on flat and that's on the coaching. So at this point, hey, there were plenty of games when the Clippers came out flat on twelve thirty starts

on a weekend, hundred Doc Rivers as well. I gotta at least point that out. Yeah oh yeah those games, yeah, those call clock games. Yeah yeah, but I mean it just I mean, and like the other college said, I don't know what's going on with Lukeinnard, but I mean I'm just kind of disappointed. I Mean, I know he got his injury, but man, he worried for five to sixty minutes and empty kelis we were just running around doing nothing but my last point here I talked to

you last time and through the whole year from tanyo, Marcus Morris. If we didn't win the championship, the championship with Marcus Morris, you got nothing in coming at him again, one for eight, four rebounds, all those thoughts at him in the beginning of the game, with Richie Bullocks shooting those three Who's who's guarding him? Marcus Morris, Yeah, Marcus Morris had a rough one. If we got to trade Marcus Morris birth two movie tickets,

popcorn and the printer something. Alright, let's not be too disrespectful here, Javier. He's done great things for the Clippers. I appreciate the phone call, though, eight sixty six ninety eight seven two five seventy eight sixty six ninety eight seven two five seventy. It was a disappointing performance from him from a lot of guys, because you know, the MAVs turned the ball over

eighteen times in just the last three quarters. They weren't great in terms of just getting their shots up because they were their own worst enemy at times, and the Clippers did get some deflections and they had their opportunities. Clippers turned that into just thirteen points though eighteen turnovers. In the thirteen points, you want at least a point per turnover. They were below that. That's tough. Clippers get up eight more shots than the Dallas Mavericks. Doesn't matter,

they still lose by six. Let's go to Sean and Inglewood. Sean, what's up, hey, Boddy? How you don't can you hear me? I got you? Sean? Okay, great, Well listen to Adam. First of all, I just have two points I want to make. The first one is whatever they have to do to change, whatever they do their rootsine they get going. They just came out. They come up to many times extremely flat, with the energy just being just almost negative. It was just like, oh, well, we gotta play a basketball game. It's

not exciting, you know. It was just it was so blog say that by the time they realize that, okay, we're nineteen points down, you know. But the other thing I wanted to talk about is that there were times they did get turnovers. They in that third quarter, they got a bunch of turnovers. They hand five fast breaks, and now the trend as somebody goes in the corner and shoot at three instead of getting a high percentage lay up and getting filed, and so they were about four times they did

that. I think they were just about to take the lead and they pop it out to somebody that bricks up at three and it doesn't go in where you would have got a m one or at least filed at least three out those four times, and so to too many times, and everybody does it in the NBA now where they're taking that lower percentage shot even though if a wide open three is a two two and the pain is still better as far as percentage wise. And I think they got lulled into doing that because Dallas

was hitting a lot of three. So it's a very disappointing loss there. I mean there's things as that could be pointed here, there and everywhere. I'm not going to do that. I think Zoo was on the board to like crazy in the first quarter. I hate seeing Zoogle out of the game. And I also think that Jill McGee had a period when he blocked him out four or five shots and that actually also had an effect. All what's your what's your take on it? Man? Yeah, McGee was good in

his six minutes. He had three blocks, of eats. The Zoobots overall, I thought really made an impact in the second and third quarters. He finished with nine and ten. I thought they still could have got him more involved offensively. Kauai got it to him with some intent and he got to and and one play. Look, if you got wide open three pointers, it may be a lower percentage, but some of those guys on wide open three shoot forty six percent. Some shoot fifty percent, and it's worth an

extra point. So this is a very good three point shooting team Sean. When they're not falling, it's tough. They still shot thirty six percent. That's not awful. That's a little bit below what they shoot on the season. But they missed one. It was Nicholas Batoum who missed a good look in the fourth. Paul George missed a good look early in the fourth when Dallas was starting to build up a double digit lead again, And those were

shot that they had to have because Dallas was getting them. On the other end. You talk about three point shooting, well, Dallas was making nurse. That was a huge difference in this ballgame. All right, eight six six ninety eight seven two five seventy eight six sixty nine eight seven two five seventy is the phone number coming up. Back to your phone calls, and we'll hear from Charles Mockler from Clips and dip. Clippers lose one ten to

one O four to Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks. We didn't have look at nonstage in this one disappointing loss, to say the least, coming off that successful four and two road trip from the Clippers. This is Clippers sock here on em five seventy l sports, Oh, Paul George, La Clippers basketball continue Pikes in its face as he carried the three on the home of

your LA Clippers. Welcome back at the Clippers talk after they fall one ten to one O four to Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks, and the Hits

keep on coming, Clibernation, listen up closely. Sham Sharania of The Athletic is reporting that the Brooklyn Nets are trading Kevin Durant to the Phoenix Suns for a package including Michael Bridges, Cam Johnson, four first round picks, an additional draft compensation, meaning they didn't have to give up Eton or Booker or CP three, and Kady is back in the Western Conference and back in the Pacific Division. Who that it's a major bobshell dropping here as we are just

about fourteen hours away from the trade deadline. Welcome back into for Stock. I'm at a Moslin. Joining the show right now post game is Charles Mockler from Clips and Dip. Charles, the floor is yours. You want to react to the Kevin Durant news. I don't know how to react to the Kevin Durant news. Adam. I wish he wasn't in the Western Conference. I think part of this is I'm frustrated because the Clippers they have not made some move to this point that people who wanted them to make the team.

You know, we saw some of the same issues that we've been played with all season happened again tonight against the Mavericks team that didn't have Luca Dodger. It's sure they had Kyrie Irving, but they didn't have Luka Dodger. They didn't have their two best defenders. And we just keep seeing the same thing from the Clippers. So I don't know. I guess you know, the Sun Depp takes a hit, for sure, but when you have Jander eight and Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, and even this version of Chris Paul.

You're still going to be a pretty good basketball team. But you know a lot of people are saying in the Pacific Division is the best in basketball, and now it just keeps getting better and maybe the best in sports after this. Jay Crowder is also a part of the deal. He'll be heading back to who are hitting the full reset button after losing Kyrie Irving who had twenty

four against the Clippers tonight as a member of the Dallas Mavericks. Yeah, I thought, you know, considering what was at stake and where they dropped in the standings because of this loss to the Dallas Mavericks, and with just twenty four games left, this was one of the toughest, most difficult,

frustrating losses of the season. For those reasons. You bring up Charles where they're still dealing with the same inconsistency out there on the floor and I'm not sure why a first half where Kawhi Leonard only takes four shots is just bizarre to watch. But they came out flat and gave up forty one points in the first quarter to Dallas. And this is a team that has been known for getting off to slow starts, but lately those comebacks are coming up short

quite often this season than maybe in years past. Are you seeing the same thing? Yeah, It just like I feel like we're still at game one almost right Like we're there's a minute restriction now on a PG and Kauai kind of because of the fact that we played such a short rotation over this road trip, you know, these Eastern Conference teams and stuff like that. I'm kind of all out of things to really kind of say what the issues are

with the Clippers, because it's nothing new. You know, we're still not Dee and Robert Cunnington. Luke Kennard, he's kind of, you know, seems like a shell of his former self. And PG and Kawai just couldn't get it done tonight, right, Like, it's not that they should have played more. They just weren't very good tonight. And we've seen that happen a little more often recently, and it just it's just tough. Even during the wind streak, there wasn't, you know, really an identity formed or

anything like that. We haven't seen a stretch of play where this team looks like the best team in the NBA, we've only seen it in shifts, so I mean something's coming in the next twelve hours. I would have to assume if it's Westbrook on a buyout and Christian Wood for Reggie Jackson, I guess we'll just keep our heads down and keep going forward. But it's getting a little frustrating now, and it's still it's pretty incredible that you know,

there's only twentieth games left from the season to go. What position do you think is more important for the Clippers to strengthen their backcourt or their front court. I think it's got to be the backcourt. We saw Reggie Jackson with just the terrible entry pass turnover today. Guys are exhausted. Paul George can't run point like we need right now, you know, And I just don't know. It feels like it's fifty one to forty nine in terms of importance.

If I'm being out street because we need someone to play take up some minutes for Zoo, and we might need someone to give Marcus morriser break. There's no reason for Marcus Morris to be playing thirty minutes and pursue and not be closing in a game like this. When the rim is just wide open. So yeah, I'm gonna go fifty one percent back court, forty nine percent front court. All right, I'm gonna go positive to end things here. Norman pal had twenty four. He had ten of his twenty four points

in the fourth quarter. He's been so good for this team over the last two and a half months now. He's given them exactly what they've asked for in a trade with the Portland Trail Blazers that you know, you look back upon. It's just unbelievable to how they were able to get this player. Yeah, I'm at a loss. It's fantastic to see. I hope these stays right. I think most Clippers fans get nervous at anytime a guy has

a really good game before the trade deadline. But we'll see Clippers lose tonight one ten to one oh four, or to the Dallas Mavericks as the West gets that much tougher with Kevin Durant back in it with the Phoenix Sons. Well, Charles, thanks for doing this tonight. I appreciate it. Tough one for Clipper Nation, especially with this news coming out as well, but I'm sure we'll be doing eclipse and double dip tomorrow my friend, Oh,

absolutely for sure, or a tripod tomorrow night. It's the clips and double dip though outside of you know, the game and the tough analysis after a loss like this one. Who coming up next? We'll get back to your phone calls eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy as the phone number. How you feeling? Cliper Nation Sons got KD and they didn't give up any of the guys in their

big three with eight and CP three and Devin Booker. Unbelievable. Back to your phone calls next. You're on a five seventy al A Sports. It was blocked by George. This is LA Clippers basketball. He is a one man king crawl and defensive man on the home of your LA Clippers. I guess three straight forty point games from Cam Thomas didn't sell KD on staying with the Nets. Kevin Durant is now a member of the Phoenix Suns and joined

CP three, Devin Booker and DeAndre Eighten. On a night where the Clippers lose one tenth to one oh four to Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks. Pet's heads are falling off. It is difficult to keep track of some of the star players in the movement right now. It's still strange to talk about Kyrie Irving being a Dallas Maverick and now Kevin Durant being a member of the Phoenix Suns. Difficult to process. Tough loss for the Clippers and the West

and the Pacific Division just got a whole lot tougher. Welcome in to Clippers stock. I'm out of Moslin eight six six ninety seven two seventy eight six six ninety seven, two seventy It's gonna Lenny in Englewood money. What's up? Oh man? Where do I start? I told you from the beginning of the year or something's wrong with this team. They're not playing with the with a sense of urgency and not playing like they got a chip on their

shoulder. Then I told you Reggie Jackson was not a starting point guard on a championship team, and you you counted me. I told you something's wrong with Luke Kennard, been wrong with Luke Kenard at this point, he needs to return some money. And now we just flipped from fourth to six and Phoenix is the favorites to win it off. And this is gonna go down

as one of the worst seasons in Clipper history. And it's looking like that Paul George trade at Kawhii and Sister we make it's gonna go down one of the worst tracy as well. They have achieved zero, they have gotten, They've gotten not sent Bro, all right, I don't know why. I mean, I know Steve Barmer was resistant to to do what Kawhi affect. If we would have just lady, what happens if Kawhi doesn't tear his acl they win it. Yeah, but they have a great chance of winning it.

But let me tell you this, they had it. Let me tell you something. The way way Giannis after Scimble was playing in that series, he just kept getting He just kept getting better and better right before our eyes. I mean that final game he had fifty points and twenty rebounds. Bro. He was great. But we don't We saw what Kawai did to him. Huh. We saw what Kawai did to him in the Eastern Conference Finals in twenty nineteen. I don't think it would have been the same. We'll

never know. I'm just saying how can you plan for Kawhi Leonard taking a bad step and tearing his acel. It's just bad luck is very unfortunate. Well, let me just say this, Norm Powell is untouchable Kawai because we're never gonna get back, but we want for him Terrence Man and I'm besides that, they's just going ahead and prepare for a full on rebuilt, because I you can't sell us that this team is gonna He's gonna do anything.

We can't get by now, we can't get by Dallas we had I did not see as getting by Joke at Denver the way they They've destroyed us, and now you got kd CP three Eighten and Book on the same damn team. It's over, Man's so I'm going to I'm putting my money in Vegas tomorrow. I don't know how the NBA. I don't know what's the on. Maybe I don't know what's the ill. We all thought it was over when Brooklyn brought in James Harden to add to Katie and Kyrie and that didn't

work out. You never know what these things? Am I wrong? No I ever say that. Did you really see us away? He playing We're gonna all of a sudden just wake up and start stopping through the West and getting the finals. Let me come on, really, man, I really, I've seen this team turn things around before. And there's still twelve more hours left a little bit over that before the trade deadline, and I would be surprised if the Clippers don't make a move to improve this ball club.

I'd be very surprised. So we'll see, we'll talk on Friday, Okay, Lenny, all right, man, Clippers lose one ten to one, O four to the Dallas Mavericks on a night, or the Phoenix Suns end up with Kevin Durant to add to the value team Clipper saw in the Western Conference finals a couple of years ago without Kawhi Leonard took him to six. But yeah, this is going to be a new super team in this league. KD with Devin Booker is about as lethal as it gets, those two

with their shot make ability. But again he had Kyrie Irving and that situation didn't work out. It's a war of attrition. Healthiest team goes on to win it. Right now, the Clippers, though, they gotta worry about themselves and the way they're playing with twenty four games left, they have to find some sort of consistency through the rest of the season. The good news

is they've got a lot more home games left to play. They got a lot more days off to build up some of that chemistry through practice and preparation and to get this thing right. And we'll see on Friday what this roster looks like. They fall by six, though, tonight, Before we get out of here, I do want to thank the Clippers organization.
