The game is over all George Money in the pain, but the postgame reaction has just begot Gohi Leonard is so smooth in the mid range. This is Clippers Locker Room, a recap of today's game and a look ahead on your hope for LA Clippers basketball. And now your host, you, sir, are a bad man, Adam Ousley. Clippers fall on their third straight game. They lose, this time one oho eight to one oh one at home to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Welcome into your post game show. Coming up,
we'll get your post game box scorer, your final box scorer. You'll hear from Coach Low and the players. But first we get back over to your voice of the Clippers in Noah Eagle. Just a brutal loss in this one, Noah, especially coming off the way they battled in those last two games against top tier competition. Now they've lost the tiebreaker to the Minnesota Timberwolves and
they've dropped to the seventh spot in the West after this loss tonight. Yeah, I mean, that's it's just you can't drop these games, and the urgency has to come eventually. I think that's the key for this team. It just doesn't feel like the urgency is there yet, and there's eighteen games left in the season at them now, at the end of the day, they can rip off a bunch of different wins, they can rip off a
bunch of different streaks and all will be fine. And that's the nature of the beast of the NBA is that when you're not winning, it feels like you're never gonna win, and when you're not losing, it feels like you're never gonna lose. But there's gotta be a happy medium there, and right now it just feels like it is on one end of the spectrum and not the other. The Clippers just can't get out of their own way. And
today twenty five turnovers leading to twenty nine Minnesota points. That's that's just unacceptable for a team that not only wants again the playoffs, but believes they can win a championship this year. That's not gonna fly. Yeah, they put themselves in an uphill battle after that first quarter, and you brought it up at the end of the first quarter. They let Minnesota start to feel good about themselves and a team that was desperate for a win by the way,
you know, a wounded animal is a dangerous one. They also have some injuries, and they stepped up and took advantage and took advantage of the opportunities, and the Clippers gave them no question. So you give Minnesota a hard they go a mile with it. And six players in double figures for the Timberwolves tonight, for a team that was struggling to score and still did only one hundred eight points in this game. The Clippers had been averaging one hundred
and thirty four in their previous four games. They put up one oh one tonight, So the offense sputters out. Look. The worst part is that it doesn't get much easier after this. You go to Golden State, where they've been great at home. Then it's a back to back at Sacramento, a team you just had an old time thriller with. Then you get back home and you get Memphis, the number one, number two team in the
Western Conference. Then Toronto, who's playing a lot better with the Aka Purtle back there, the Nicks, who are on a six game winning streak right now, and then the Warriors again once here at home. Not to mention Memphis twice on a two game miniseries in Memphis You've got who else is on that trip, two game miniseries in Memphis, I know Portlands on the road as well. You've got Phoenix on the road as well in New Orleans. So you've got teams that are all playoff teams. You've got teams that are
going to be difficult. So that's a two game mini series in Memphis and a game in New Orleans. It's just it's not going to be simple for this team. The majority of their schedule is against playoff caliber teams, including the Oklahoma City Thunder who they have a two game mini series with here at home. And they lost that two game mini series on the road to the beginning of the year, and that was really when things started to spiral a
little bit out of control. So you know games that you look pat back on over the course of the season that probably should have been wins, this one included, and you start to add it up in your in your head and see, man, that is just absolutely brutal for the Clippers to not find a way to get through and knock stockpile those wins. And so this was another example of that they got they gotta race a quickly, find a way to get past it and head to this back to back on the road
and just find a confidence level that right now they are lacking. It's gotta start Thursday in San Francisco against the Golden State Warriors. Tip time for that one is at seven. We'll have Clippers countdown your pregame shows starting at six. No Eagles safe travels up north. I don't know if you find some gym boys up there, but the call is always my friend. Yeah, well, we'll see how it goes. I'm sure that I'll be down to go full cheesy with it. Can't wait, can't wait. Coming up,

M five seventy LA Sports, we will have Clippers stock for you. Eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy is the phone number. Clippers end up shooting just forty two percent from the field eleven or twenty eight from the outside. That's thirty nine percent. That's not a terrible percentage, but it's interesting that they only attempted twenty
eight three pointers in this game. Of course, you can say when you have twenty five turnovers, you're getting less shots up, and Minnesota did get up even with their nineteen turnovers, seven more shots than the Clippers, who were not able to overcome a big deficit heading into the fourth quarter. They had it to within six multiple times. They had it to within four, but had some bad possessions down the stretch. The turnovers also continued in crucial
moments. Russell Westbrook had a couple of them, Paul George and the Clippers overall just they couldn't find anybody with the hot hand for a consistent period of time. Kawhi Leonard went through a shooting funk in this one. He finished with twenty three but on nineteen shots seven of nineteen Paul George twenty five on
ten of twenty one shooting off the bench. Norman Powell did have ten of his thirteen points in the fourth quarter and gave them a shot in the arm to start things off as they tried to climb back into this one, but not enough defensively down the stretch. They gave up key buckets to the Minnesota Timberwolves after timeouts. As Jay McDaniels finished with twenty points, he hit a
huge three pointer in the fourth quarter. Anthony Edwards just eighteen, but Rudy Gobert sixteen, a couple of blocks, a big throwdown, had an and one in the fourth quarter, and the Clippers would lose this one by seven. Tough one, Clipper Nation, I've been saying that way too much lately. They fall one o eight to one oh one. Here back at home
to the Timberwolves. Coming up next, We're looking for postgame audio from the head coach and the players in whole preview Thursday's game up in San Francisco against the Golden State Waters. This is your Clippers postgame show here in the Los Angeles Clippers regular George and Leonard running. You're listening to La Clippers basketball it up to clip puts it down plus the foul every game of all season long
on their official holds Timbers for down by thirteen. No comeback in this one as they lose one o eight to one oh one, unless you want to say it was the Minnesota Timberwolves who did it, as the Clippers led by twelve early in the first corner just to lose by seven. Final score Timberwolves one o eight of Los Angeles Clippers one oh one. Clippers next game coming
up Thursday. If this was a lust win, necessary win, well, Thursday, they gotta have it against the Golden State Warriors, who will likely still be without Steph Curry up north in San Francisco. Tip time for that one is at seven, as they're on the front end of a back to back. They'll be in Sacramento on Friday. It's a team who just put up one hundred and seventy six points against them, and the Clippers lost double over tide of the second highest scoring game of all time last Friday night.
But it starts with Golden State Thursday. Gotta focus on that one. They gotta find a way to get it. Pregame show will be at six on Thursday outside of Los Angeles. We are leaving you until then. Minnesota was hungry like a wolf after losing three straight and the Clippers throughout twenty of red meat in the form of twenty five turnovers as the Timberwolves would go on to win one o eight to one oh one. Here at Crypto dot com arena over to Los Angeles Clippers. Welcome
in the Clippers Talk. I'm Outam Oslin. You'll hear from the head coach in Toronto, lou and the players Clipper Nation. I cannot overstate how difficult of a loss this is for the Clippers
as a team that had lost three in a row. Now sent them to losing three straight after they had played their hearts out against Sacramento and lost in double ot on Friday night, and then lost in overtime against Denver, and what would have been their best victory of the season, they didn't get it, and they compound things by losing tonight against a team that is near them in the standings. Will update you on those in the Western Conference coming up,
but Minnesota didn't have Carl Anthony Towns. Clippers got Big Zoo of Vitza Zoobots back in this one, and it looked like they were in control. That first quarter had them up by twelve, but near the end of it there were some warning signs defensively. After the Clippers came out and played a much better first quarter than they did against the Kings, where they gave up
forty points than they did against Denver. They gave up thirty five. They were up by twelve, they were controlling things, they were in sync on
the defensive end. It was five guys on a string and it was thirty two to twenty after Terrence Man had a layup off a nice assist from Kawhi Leonard with one thirteen left in the first quarter, and this is where I believe the game swung back in Minnesota's favor, in their favor to begin with, they would knock down two three pointers to end the first and you go from being up twelve to then just being up by seven, and Minnesota was
feeling good about themselves. They saw the ball go through the hoop a couple of times and from then on, after scoring just twenty six points in the first quarter, they had thirty two in the second, and at the half, the Clippers were down by two after leading this one by twelve and looking like it could be their night to have a dominating victory over a lesser opponent that has struggled this season, even with Rudy Gobert, but they've had their
own injury issues. They trade D'Angelo Russell. Anthony Edwards didn't even have a great game six of eighteen, but Jade McDaniels does. He has twenty points. It's his fourth twenty plus point game, first those since January second, and he averaged eleven points in the twenty five games after that leading up to this one where he burns the Clippers late with a huge three pointer as the
Clippers were in an uphill battle heading into the fourth quarter. After a third where they had nine turnovers nine of their twenty five, they were down by eleven as they entered the fourth. They put themselves in a miserable position that they were not able to overcome. The closest they got was four, and that was very late in the fourth quarter and almost an inconsequential time after Russell Westbrook hit a three pointer at one oh five to one oh one with forty
two seconds left. But before that, the backbreaking shot may have been this.
Clippers are down six with three twenty one left, plenty of time, had some momentum after Norman Powell, who had ten of his thirteen points in the fourth after and I know he'll be kicking himself for this, but he had a play in the third quarter where he was arguing a call in the far side corner, missed the shot, didn't get the foul, but the Clippers got the offensive rebound, and Nicholas Batoum was looking for him back in that corner. He passed it over, but Norman Powell wasn't looking for it
because he was arguing with the official. There's eighteen games left now, that stuff can't happen. This laid into the season, especially when you're not playing well and you gotta value every possession, something the Clippers have not been doing. And two of their last three games now they've had twenty five turnovers. They had it against Sacramento, but in that game, well, they had ten minutes of overtime, going into double overtime five minutes in each. They
were bad. Tonight they were worse. Unbelievably. Kawhi Leonard actually had a conversation on the court with Norman Powell and those who have a history. They won a championship together in Toronto, and the famous clip of Norm trying to get a fist bump from Kawai and him not giving it to him and just pointing, hey, we got a game to play here. So that was
a brutal play. He tried to make out four in the fourth quarter, had ten of his thirteen there and the Clippers were within six at the three twenty one mark of the fourth, but out of that time out, Jade McDaniels got a very good look at a three pointer. It wasn't a defender close to him, and he knocked it down to get to his twenty points on eight of twelve, shooting two or five from the outside, but that won't put him up by nine. Clippers after that, they had some pretty
poor possessions. Paul George did what he could. He had a dunk, brought it to within seven. He hit a three pointer got it to within five with a minute forty seven left, but then Kyle Anderson hit a floater to put them back up by seven. And in between that there was a tough miss by Russell Westbrook in a possession that was completely devoid of ball movement,
stagnant. I don't think anybody else touched it. Russ got the defensive rebound on the other end, brought it into the front court with about a
minute left. Liked his matchup against Mike Conley, took him into the paint, tried to fade away from twelve feet out short and he had a couple of turnovers in this fourth quarter where one of them was off of a steel and he got into transition, got a little bit out of control, tried to save the ball from going out of bounds, couldn't get it to Kawhi Leonard who was there, but it ended up eventually turning into another turnover and
then he found or he was looking for a vizza. Zobots on the interior, made a tough pass to him, went through his hands, and I'm not putting it on one guy. Russ had a really good first half, an amazing first half in this one, where I want to say he had eight assists to two turnovers. Was completely in control of the ball game, but had some tough possessions down the stretch as a few Clippers. And they lose this one, and they haven't won a game yet with Russell Westbrook.
Level of competition of course matters. But tonight you thought, okay, get right game. They're back home, Minnesota's down a few players. Clippers are getting the beats to zoobots Back, who look good overall. He had twelve and nine, was moving well. He had a great putback in the fourth off of miss from Russ. This is when they had to have. This is one where you're close enough to the end of the season that you're going to look back upon maybe the last three let's say that's maybe what did the
Clippers in. Nothing's determined yet. The West is yet to be won. But make no mistake, these games all matter right now in terms of seeding and where you can end up, and you don't want to make it any more difficult for yourself to get through the West to the NBA Finals. And right now the Clippers just aren't playing like a championship team, a contender. Twenty five turnovers in two of the last three games is pretty inexcusable. That
will give you losses. And two of those games where they had the twenty five turnovers against Sacramento and against the Timberwolves night both at home, and the Clippers got off to a good start tonight. It's baffling to see them implode like this. You want to say it's the new guys and lack of familiarity and building up chemistry and rotations and lineups and different players on the court next to one another. I can buy it to a degree. Not a lot
of it though. It was just sloppy basketball, unserious basketball, as the kids would say. And this team, it was a flaw early on this season that it looked to be fixed over the last two months where the Clippers were of the best teams when it came in taking care of the basketball. After getting off to a star this year in the first month and a half or they were given up sixteen turnovers per game. But it's reared. It's ugly head again. The turnover issue did them in Tonight Clippers lose one o
eight to one oh one at home to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Before you get to your phone calls, let's pause ten seconds for station identification. Here on AM five seventy l A Sports, this is LA Clippers Basketball. A five seventy KLAC Los Angeles, seven KYSR HD two Los Angeles and iHeart radio station. Clippers lose by seven in a game they really needed because now they're dangerously close to being in the play in tournament. They're hanging on by a thread
right now. It just makes Thursday's game even bigger. It's a back to back, starting with the Golden State Warriors Thursday than the Sacramento Kings on Friday. All right, let's start with Mike in La. Mike, you're on Clippers stop without am oslind And you know, I gotta say if unless this
season results in the championship, I think Taylu needs to go. I mean, as I'm a huge Taylu fan, I hate saying this, but you know, the lack of seriousness about this team, as you said, they're just not serious all season is I mean, you have to put that on the coach. He you know, they had such a great thing going into the All Star break. Then you go, you change up all the rotations, you go away from what was working, and you know this is the
result. I mean, it just you know, I understand he says he wants to tinker, he wants to do whatever, but you can only tinker so much. You had you you had what was working, you know, for the you know, a couple of months before the All Star Breaker, a couple few weeks before the All Star Break, whatever it was, and then you just go away from that. That just it doesn't make any sense.
It's inexplicable. I understand your frustration right now because experimenting with nineteen games left now, eighteen games left, it just seems like a dangerous game. Part of it is necessary because you have four new players now after the trade deadline. But you mentioned they had two really good bit wins, and that Phoenix one was one of the best of the season. Terrence Man may have had his best regular season game ever in that one. I thought he was
the best player on the floor with his twenty six. He thought you had momentum going into the All Star break. Terrence Man ends up playing twenty two minutes in this one. Nicholas Beatum just twenty Your newest Clipper, Russell Westbrook at twenty seven, Marcus Moore's at twenty one minutes, Kawai and PG heavy minutes. Kawai a thirty eight once again didn't have his best tonight. But you can't expect him to play like Superman every night either. Nights like this
we're gonna happen. Somebody else has to perform. The deepest team in the NBA coming into this season, they got a fin and energy elsewhere. They gotta find buckets elsewhere. And really this has come down to them being so much worse on defense than I ever would have imagined, especially with the start they got off to this year. And I appreciate the phone called Mike. There were a top five defense through the first couple of months of the season.
Do you know where they're ranked defensively since the start of the new year the last two months now twenty seven? How can that happen? Now? They're second in offense over that time. And I know they've had some injuries and missing Big Zoo the last two games was huge, but they had them tonight and they couldn't get stopped when they needed to. This is a brutal loss, a crippling loss. Hopefully not a fatal loss for the Clippers.
They still have eighteen games left. But I told you the other night, after disappointpointments against the Kings in doublet and the Denver Nuggets INOT in Denver, when you could have picked up two wins there, especially the one against Sacramento where you're up by fourteen with under five minutes left, that game has to be won. They lost it four different times, nine point lead after that,
six point lead, six point leads, and overtime. When you start giving away games like that, you can't have it bleed into the next contest. You can't have one loss turn into three. And that's what seems to have happened now over this three game losing street for the Clippers. Eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy is the phone number coming back. We'll get to your phone calls.
We're looking for postgame audio from coach Slew as well Clippers losing this one one o eight to one oh one to the Minnesota Timberwolves in a game they desperately needed, and they need to play with some desperation from here on out. Don't care who's on the court. To get to the playoffs, you gotta start playing better basketball because right now they're headed towards the play in, not
the position they want to be in. Who's the team they played in the play in last year, Minnesota. They beat them again tonight and they win the season series, meaning they have the tiebreaker against the Clippers. So yeah, if I'm a little bit fired up tonight, there's a few reasons why the predation will offer positives. Of course, as always here too eighteen games
left. There's still time, but the runway is getting short. Listening to the Clipper stock, you're on AM five seventy l A Sports and he got it. Count it from distance. The odds on favorite to hoist the Larry O'Brien heavily contested, and it doesn't matter on the home of your LA Clippers numbers. Lose one o eight to one oh one and as close as you can get to a must win in the regular season contest against the Minnesota Timberwolves,
welcome back into Clippers stock. I'm ata Moslin to eight sixty six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy is the phone number? Have the Clippers tried too many changes recently? Is it just unrealistic to make this thing work and to have enough guy's Jael who are playing big roles when they just brought him in. I don't know. It's not looking good right now. Look, they played amazing basketball at times against
Sacramento, at times against Denver, but they were still losses. Tonight, I'd say they had about ten or fifteen minutes of good basketball, not good enough against any team in this league, but a team that was hungry like the Timberwolves, that is now just a game back of the Clippers. Clippers are in the sixth spot in the West, they are in a precarious position. Dallas bumps down to seven. They're in the play in currently a half
game back of the Clippers. But what makes this loss even worse is because Minnesota wins the season series against the Clippers, and that's the first tiebreaker. You hope that doesn't come back to haunt him. Clippers will see Golden State, who's right in front of them, because while they have one less win, they have one less loss, they're in the five spot. They'll see him Thursday night in San Francisco, Eddie. In Whittier, Eddie, you're
on Clippers stop without Amasa? What's up? Hey? What's up? Bad him? I agree? I think the team just has too much depth and guys just don't know their role right now. You know, I think there's been too much change as of late. And one thing I've noticed too is Norman Powell was really you know, scoring high the last couple of games when we were winning, and he hasn't been putting up those numbers out of late either. So, you know, I think it's just too much going on.
Just the team's too deep and people just don't know their role. You wonder if there's too many moving parts right now and too many guys have to be integrated during the most important part of the regular season. That is my concern. Norm Powell. No, it's a good point, Eddie. I appreciate the phone call and you bring it up Norm Powell. Before the break, he didn't play against Phoenix, Remember, but Eric Gordon had a really good game. Who currently is doing a Q and A with Noah Eagle here
a post game on the court. So is he was finding his sea legs with the Clippers, so to speak, is Bones Highland and Mason Plumley were finding the roles. And I'm not worried about Mason Plumley. You know, he's a guy who can just plug and play because of the position, because how needed he is. He is your backup center. There's no doubt about it. There's no question about pecking order or who's gonna get minutes behind. It beats the zoobos now, but how many minutes are going to Norman Powell?
He played twenty four to night, he was four or fourteen. He did most of his damage on the fourth quarter, which he's done all season long, where he's been shooting I think fifty two percent in fourth quarters. But thirteen points to night, just nine against Denver. The two games before that twenty four twenty four and then sixteen before that twenty four, fourteen, twenty four, twenty six, twenty seven, he was putting up huge numbers.
He was starring in his role on his way to winning six minut of the Year or at least being in The conversation at top three has to be you wonder how guys adjust to seeing new players coming in that are taking up some of their minutes because we thought, okay, they consolidated some of the talent in the back court. Well then they bring us in. That changes everything. Terrence Man was the starter, now he's not. They had just won ten of their last fourteen and eight of two at one point before the
All Star break. Now they've lost three in a row out of it. I'm not putting it on one player. It's not and I'm not putting it just on the coach. It's not. Some of it is understandable. Some of it though, these turnovers. Maybe we were wrong to think that they could turn things around in that area because we talked about building good championship habits. They built some bad ones and they're still lingering. And the turnovers they've
been there, the offensive rebounds they give up. There was a big one in the fourth quarter against tonight. It happened against Denver as well. That's stuff that started off this season is coming back to haunt them right now. Jeff leaving the game, Jeff, you're on Clippers stop without imsl say Adam
up. Yeah, just a couple thoughts. I think Morris needs to slide to the back of the bench, and they need to put Man back in the starting lineup along with Russell and and then take bones Highland and put him into the second unit. And that's just my thought. There's ardor I'm sorry, Covington into the second unit along with bones Hiland. So that's just my
thought. But do you think it's realistic though, that Marcus Moore's all of a sudden is going to just stop playing when he's been a starter for this team for two and a half three years. He doesn't he doesn't get rebounds, he doesn't play the defense, and he hasn't been hit a three point shot at all, and we need to mix it up. So I can't. I'm not arguing with you. I understand where you're coming from. He's had just one of the toughest runs of his career the last couple of months
and has not excelled in really any area that he typically does. His shooting would be one. He's been a good floor spacer next to Kawai and Paul George, but it's not happening right now in this game. Marcus Morris has two points in twenty one minutes oh three from the outside and had two really head scratching turnovers where he got locked up in a trap on the far side
corner and then another time he traveled. And he has just he has looked slow at times and so I got this for your post game and I appreciate the phone call. Eddie ty Lee was asked about Marcus Morris possibly having tired legs, and he said, quote, it could be. I got to do a better job of keeping him involved, maybe getting him the ball in the midpost. He's not shooting well right now, but I thought he got some deflections tonight. I don't think Marcus Morris is going anywhere. The solution
may just be for him to get out of this funk. I don't know. Let's head out to Stefan and Highland par stefand you're on Clippers stop without aim Assle. How you doing? Adam? First of all, just want to say him a big fan the Clips and Dips podcast. Keep up the good work. When are we going to start holding Paul George accountable for the mindless turnovers he causes in almost every game? I know there weren't a lot
tonight. But Man against the King, well, he had one where he was looking for Terrence Man and they were in close proximity in the fourth quarter. Yeah. Now, the other what happened was it didn't end up earning that because on the other side the t Wolves gave it right back. There was one there. But look, you don't need to tell him that. I think he knows. I think we know. This is who Paul George is as a playmaker. He's gonna have some turnovers like this. But you
got a ride or die with Paul George and Kawhi Leonard. Those are your guys. There's nothing more you can really do about that. I just think if this doesn't end up in the finals appearance, I think we need to trade Paul George. I think enough is enough and experiment hasn't worked. I know we'll get there when we get there, But I just think Paul George is just not helping his case to stay on this team. That's all I have to say. All right, Sephan appreciate the phone call Romeo in La
Puenza Romeo Young Clippers stopped without Amoslin. Hello, what's going on? Hell? Romeo? Are you doing? What do you think the game tonight. I think it was ridiculous. I agree with one of the callers about Marcus Morris. I'm tired of watching them play. It's ridiculous, it's terrible, and we needn't get Roco in there, simple as that. I'm tired of seeing him not playing at all. Look, I've gotten calls like this all
season. I appreciate Romeo that. I don't think it's happening. I don't know why it would all of a sudden, why they would go away from Marcus completely. Why are Robert Covington would be injected back in the story line, I mean just into the game. He's been getting dnps for I don't know how long since the start of the season. We got to ask for things that are realistic, too, But I get the frustration. I'm not
sure why Rocco has been out of the rotation for so long either. I'm not sure why Marcus at times gets thirty minutes and somebody like Terrence Man gets less. I don't know. I don't I'm not a coach. I don't have those answers. But clearly coach Lou believes in him, He's comfortable with him, he thinks he'll pull this tail spinning. Look, he's got a career full of data that says he's better than the player he's been recently, but it has looked like and I was hoping the All Star break was in
a curate for him, he's had tired legs. He just hasn't been able to stay in front of guys. He hasn't had the same lift on his shooting. Something's going on, Edgar and Inglewood, you're on Clippers style without hm Awesome here, Hey, Adam, I just I don't think I've ever seen a team year after year just totally disrespect the process of a regular season. And the reason I say that, there's a couple of reasons when it comes to rotations. Okay, bone Tiling clearly is not in the rotation.
Okay, he's gotten the DMP in every game except for one, and that was against his former team. So tarbarone Lou. With eighteen games left in the season, the Clippers are literally fighting for their playoff lives. Throws them a bone. Let's go ahead, you know, get your revenge game against your you know, your former team, you know who cares you know about
trying to find a rotation that we're gonna head into with the playoffs. Okay, that just shows you how unserious from this coaches and this franchise right now. Okay, every single year is the same thing. It's between the load managing and I know they haven't done that lately, thank god. You know, every single year is the same thing between the load man they're playing around with. Let me let me ask you this. Let me ask you this.
Do you not agree it's worked with the way they brought Kawhi Letter along to get him back to this point where he is one hundred percent Kawhi Letter once again? Okay, I mean do you not find that remarkable that Kawhi is back to peak form? Okay, yeah, he's he's an All Star, he's one of the top five player, but he was coming off in ACL and for him to get back this soon, you have to say the way that they did the recovery process worked. Okay, you know who it
worked for. You know who's like the load managing thing worked for like early two thousand Spurs because they were able to just mess around in the regular season, not take it. So you're not going to acknowledge that Kawhi Leonard is playing at this high a level and the load management management could have something to do with it. You're just gonna blow past that point. No, no, no, we won't blow past it. But what's the goal though? Every year? Though? Well, what does the team? So the fans
every year at him? It's deepest roster in the league, championship favorite championship contender. Have they done that? So you can't really say no, because the playoffs haven't started yet, so you can't say they failed. It's something they haven't got an opportunity for yet this season, so I know. But they also still haven't shown the ability to just flip a switch, which is
which by the way, they just don't take the regular season seriously. And this is just my opinion, you know why, Eddie, How did you feel in the twenty twenty one playoffs before Kawhi went down? Did you feel like when they took Phoenix to six? Also, did you feel like, hey, if they had Kawai, they would have won the whole thing? Well? I don't do like the what ifs though, like we were doing you're doing it already. What do you mean you're doing it from a negative
side? Tell me that process didn't work Kawhi ended up getting hurt. That's what they lost. It's unfortunate. There's not much else you can do about that other then bring him back and hope he's the same player. And that's who he seems to be again. And I still think he can take things up another another notch in the playoffs, because he always does. Eddie. I appreciate the phone call. Let's go to Shay, who's outside the arena? Show you there, Shay drops all right, Well, take you quick
time out. We'll come back. We'll get more to more of your phone calls. Eight six, six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six six ninety seven two five seventy. We'll see how this season ends before we give it a grade, before we judge it completely. Things look die right now. Sure. I'm old enough though to remember a time during the twenty twenty one season where the Clippers weren't able to win close games late. Everybody was
freaking out about their clutch time rating. And then by the time the playoffs came around, they were great in those moments when they needed to win, when they needed to figure it out. Down two oho and back to back series, they were able to win Kawai was brilliant and I fully believe they're at least getting to the finals if he doesn't go down. More clipper Stock
next year and amp by seventy l A Sports George and Lennard running. You're listening to LA Clippers basketball up Clip puts it down plus the foul every game all season long on their official home on Clipper Stock. They lose one o eight to one oh one to the minutes of the Timberwolves. They have lost three straight. They are in the sixth spot. Half came out of being on the plane in that seventh spot currently held by the Dallas Mavericks. Welcome
back in. I'm out of Masland eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy. We'll try to get in all your calls still to come. We'll have Will Updike on from Clips and Dip. All right, let's go Al Yune in Lancaster. Al Yun, you're on clipper Stock without of Maslin. What's up? Yeah? Him? So, thank you? That's your mark calls. Yeah. I have a just question, uh why eight the NBA
doesn't allowed to trade the coach to go I'm serious. We lose a lot again to cause the coaching What specifically did you see tonight listen to him no more. I don't know, because we have a lot we deep. We don't have to just be deep and not you would deplaire we have well. I appreciate the phone call. Ali Yun. Coach lew was asked about the toughest challenge right now with this team, and he said, having too many good players, which is a compliment to his roster, of course, but
it's not easy to find minutes for everyone. It's damn near impossible to do. And to build up chemistry and to find the right lineups and the guys who play best next to one another. It was always going to take some time. Did I think they'd lose three straight in the manner they have now coming out of the All Star break. Now, let's go to Marvin in downtown Los Angeles. Marvin, what's up? You're in Clipper stop for that? I'm awesome, Hey, Adam, Yeah, what the Clippers need right
now? They're like in a hitting slump, but they needed to breakthrough games. That's that's what they need because all the games been closed. They're being competitive because it's not either waves. They just correct the mistakes. Of the turnovers and the communication. I mean, they'll be all right, and they also need to pick up the pace. I know. I like Russell Westbrook keeps contributing, passing the ball, hitting his teammates involved, but he needs
to be more aggressive. He needs to get into the pain, slash throw the floaters. We don't need him to shoot threes or outside because that's what we have Kauai, That's what we have Pa George, Norman Powell and also Gordon. But when he gets into the pain and then he passes, it becomes predictable. It's like a quarterback passing of all all the times without having a running backs. So he needs to pay off Holly can score in the
pen. How he slash throw the floaters, so therefore it doesn't become predictable, and then it gives the liberty to then cast the Barnes from the stock. Thank you all right. I appreciate the phone call. I thought Russ had a great first half and a tough second half and a tough stretch down the end of the fourth quarter where he was being very aggressive. It's got to be controlled. Though. He knows that he's been very good so far
as a Clipper Overall for this team, he has helped them. But down the stretch tonight a couple of turnovers and obviously that fade away over Mike Conley Junior where the Clippers didn't get into a set, didn't run their offense at all. That was a little bit of an eyebrow raiser. All right, let's go to Holly leaving the game. Holly, what's up here on Clipper
stock without amostin? Hey, Adam, I just wanted to say, yes, I agree with you on PG and Kwai being the ones we die on, but I don't know how you can disagree with that they're brought in here, Yeah, for that reason together. The other caller was saying PG has to go. I disagree with that, okay, but I do think Westbrook adds energy and I love it. But I also think he needs to change the starting lineup. Put tea man in and uh have the second lineup with
Covington getting involved. I mean, you got he can play defense, he can move the ball. I mean the ball just seems the ball movement is dead. They don't move the ball fast. Morris is just well. They had four assists on their thirty five makes. They were moving the ball at times. That was the only way they were scoring in this one, through extra passes, through making the right play. The problem was they were also playing too much hot potato to the point they got out of control and had
a lot of turnovers. Well that, I mean, he assist the mad shots. That's a good number. But I still think they need to get Cummington in the game. He's a better defensive player than I know. You love Morris, and you know Morris was good like two months ago, but he's in a slump right now. I think I think the guys better playing the best right now. Well, I think what you're gonna get Morris to wake up by not starting him, putting him put him in the second lineup,
or not put him in the second line line up. Let him get his rest, let him get his legs. Maybe that new baby is causing him not to have good sleep that night. But the guy is not playing the way he should, and it just is so ear ritating to see him not play defense. He's hesitant on shooting the ball. It's like, I think I could go out there and shoot the ball better than him right now, And that's pretty sad. Let's let's not. You know, these guys
are professional. I get it, Holly. I'm not gonna go there. Though he hasn't looked the same recently, but we expect him to snap out of it. I appreciate the phone call, Holly. Let's go to Lenny. Lenny in Inglewood, Lenny, what's up here on Clippers stock withou? Him? Oustin? Lenny's gone? Morris in Long Beach, Morris, I know you got some positivity, I Adam, you need to calm down. Look at it. Everything that happened to the Clippers. Happily everybody in the
NBA. Everybody got these kind of games. I like this, lady. They calls about what Westbrook the way to the game. You know, he gives us some minuty apparently not for forty eight minutes, but they got a different lip to him. They got a different lip to him. The guys of top seventy five player. I think they're gonna figure it out. I really do. But what surprises me about the Clippers because they've been a defensive team. When you say Clippers, what they known for defense? Right man?
They can score now, which which is an issue for a lot of team. But it don't seem like they got that same that same lockdown kind of spirit that used to have nothing. It's not even close, Morris, It's not even close. For three months throughout most of the season, they are a bottom ten defense. That is shocking, is it not? Then the Clippers, their defense ain't the same, Adam, I mean, I'm not. I love the team, I love the excitement and far more entertainment.
But you know the name of the game is, you know, can you stop them guys? Everybody in the league is superstar, right, everybody super athlete. Can you stop these guys? And the Clippers used to be able to do that. I mean, anybody shutting down in beating, anybody shouting down the joker. But as a team, they were a good defensive team. But right what's what's mind boggling is they have the players, they have the guys to play defense, but they're getting sliced and diced through right
now by teams and they can't get stop something. They had one stop, but they caused the twenty four second violation of the fourth on Minnesota, and I thought that was going to be a turning point for them. It wasn't. Minnesota continued to get into the teeth of the defense. Well, they got to figure it out, because like everybody knows, they got they got them. These the guys they'll figure it out. Well, then, I'm not sure behind three everybody in any NBA right now, when any team that
loses right now, it's the big Laws. Any team that wins right now is that they wins. So I'm not ready to throw these guys under the bus right now. And again, I like with Westbrook complinient to the team Adams, so behave these else I'll see you nexttent. All right, Morris, Look, it's not any team Denver is going to be the one seed. Next team closest to them is five and a half games back Memphis. They're pretty secure in the two seat. It's possible Sacramento can catch them.
But there are teams who are cut above right now, and the Clippers aren't one of them. Rob in La, Robbie yourng Clipper, stop with him, assen any thanks for taking my call. Okay, Robbie, what do you got? I just want to understand. I thought Eric Gordon was our you know, big get at the trade deadline, and it doesn't seem like he's getting enough minutes, particularly when we're so bad on deft. He is team man needs to get into the rotation a lot of them. Terrence Mann
played twenty two minutes, Eric Gordon just seven in this one. So last couple of games, Eric Gordon hasn't played as much, although he played the fourth quarter. You played critical minutes against the Nuggets the other night, and I liked him out there because I think he's secured with the basketball. He is a savvy vet, he's a stabilizer. But yeah, I didn't get a lot of run in this one. I think the big pickup is the
guy who's now in the starting lineup. I think you have to say it's Russell Westbrook, right, I mean seems that way, but you would think that before Rush showed up they had a plan for Wardens. Then you're just not seeing it. I don't know how they're going to be able to figure
this out. I think they have the right guy to do so in coach lou But they haven't found the wins yet with the four guys they brought in, or at least they haven't got a win since bringing in Russell Westbrook with those other three guys at the trade deadline, and it's just three losses in a row. It's tough. You slide right down the standings. I appreciate the phone call Robbie coming up. We will have Will Updike on from Clips and Dip. Take a quick time out here eight six six nine eight seven
two seventy eight six six nine eight seven two five seventies. The Clippers are reeling and have to get into desperation mode and have that fuel them the rest of the way. You want a good tune up for the playoffs, how about having to win games just to get in. That's pretty much the point they're at now. You're listening to Clipper stock. You're on AM five seventy
a sports hendy got it counted from distance. The odds on favorite to hoist the Larry o'bride heavily contested in a dozen't matter on the whole of your LA Clippers. After twenty six sevens the first corner, Minnesota outscored the Clippers e two to sixty eight. The rest of the way and the Clippers defense non existence. Now over the last seven games, they're giving up fifty two percent shooting and forty two percent from the outside. In their last eight games.
Two opponents and the turnovers came a plenty. They had twenty five tonight. They had twenty five against Sacramento. In between that just thirteen against Denver. But before those three games, they would turn the ball over just ten times, and their last eleven. Before the last three. It's confounding. Clippers lose one o eight to one oh one. Here in downtown Los Angeles, the Crypto dot Com Arena to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Welcome back into Clipper stock.
I'm outam Auslin. All right, we got Will Updike on Will, where would you like to start? I like asking this question because I know you might have a different perspective than me, But where was this game lost in your mind? Just like, just like the lack of intense to me on the defensive end, combined with just so many mental mistakes, which has just been a thing we've seen repeat over and over again across these last three games. I think just like the most emblematic one for me was that third
quarter turnover where Norm Powell didn't get the foul call. He's at he's he's arguing with the ref meanwhile, but Tum's trying to kick it out to him to the corner for an open three. Another turnover, just a terrible thing, and that I mean that was just one of twenty five, as he stated. But like it's just I don't know where this team is at right now. I gotta tell you, can you hear this? Got some ice in there. I got a whiskey port up thicker than Marcus Morris's hit band.
It's the Tuesday hurt up on a Tuesday after a Clifford's loss, or trying to turn down to fall asleep tonight, whatever it may be. I've gotten a ton of calls on Marcus Morris, I've gotten a ton of tweets my way, and I completely understand all of it. And he played twenty one minutes and just has not looked like himself. And he was guilty of a couple of really bad turnovers, but all three from the field, and he had two good looks where they tried to get him going in the first
quarter wide open shots, couldn't knock them down. What do you think happens next with Marcus? I mean, he only took three field goal attempts in this game, so I do feel like that is worth noting. But yeah, I don't know, But his best attribute is his offense. If he doesn't have that going, it's I just don't know. Three shots, No, I hear you. Look. The thing is is I'm just so confounded. I thought this break would be worse on Red. I don't know what
we do. I mean, we have like coming up with the season on the line, and you know, the troubling thing is we're hearing from coach Luit he's going to give him a couple of games to stuff out, not market specifically, but rop Okay, I don't know if Will is pouring more whiskey into his glass and that's what that noise is, or if I'm just hearing it and hearing things, which is nothing new for me. But okay, our producer Katie says she's hearing that too. Will, can you still
hear us? Is there something you could readjust there with your phone? Maybe because I was getting a lot of static in between knowledge you were trying to drop Will. We're gonna try to reconnect with Will updike. Here we mentioned Marcus Morris. I just the thing is, when a guy's getting older, you start to wonder is it a slump or our skills starting to diminish? Because it happens. Sometimes it happens quickly, and I hope that's not the
case with Marcus, and I still believe in him. But he has been struggling in ways I just have never seen throughout his career. He may not be healthy. I don't know. He's a tough guy. Maybe he's trying to tough it out. Do we have willing Updyke, I'm back, I'm back. How about now continue as you were saying about Marcus Man, I just don't know something just how quick like this decline has come. I mean, quinted, he hasn't been where he's been at in previous seasons all year
long. I'll definitely come to that. Hey, the first couple of months we were like, that's right, guys, Eddie, Marcus haters out there, he's making shots, he's shutting them up. He looked okay, Yeah, yeah, he looked okay. And I just feel like, I mean, maybe it's just because it's been on a more amplified spotlight as the team is losing, But he looks like the decline, like the it's just so severe. You look like you said, you just gotta wonder if he's playing
through something. But you know, even if that's the case and he's you know, well enough to play, I just I just think there has to be a shift in that minute's distribution. Whether he starts or not doesn't really matter. But it seems like, you know, we talked about this before, like maybe he just needs those shorter stretches where he can be a little bit more effective without having to have the stamina to play, you know, twenty plus minutes. Let me ask you about the closing lineup in this one,
because I've gotten some calls on this too. It was Russ norm Pg Kauai and it beats a Zoobos. Is that what you wanted to see out there? I just think that that presents so many problems from a spacing perspective for for Kawai and Paul George, and I feel like both of them were a little bit flummixed. Kauai even with some uncharacteristic turnovers. No, that like that, That's not what I'm looking to see when you bring up the space, is it? Because Okay, we got Russ out there with Zoo,
so we got two non shooters on the court at once. Because what's that those guys are both starting lineup now? I know, I think that's an issue too, But like the thing is, is like the way to make that the most aspective is to use Russ and in Zoo and like a pick and roll, and like what then, what are you doing with Kawai and Paul George. It's just it's I just don't really I just don't really see the fit. And once again, this was not a loss on Russ.
He had a couple of bad turnovers in really bad minutes. I don't know that he's the guy that should be closing games. Maybe they can find a work like a lineup to figure it out. I just it just comes back to the same thing. It's the same conversation when you're having in January, Like it just seems like this team, anytime they make a little bit of progress, they're taking two steps back and we're now just at the exact
same spot. Like I you know, we it seemed like we had found some lineups, some things that we're working, and you know, we've just moved away from it. And I know that there's gonna be some growing pain with new guys in the lineup, not just for us obviously, but it's I don't know, man, the just the chuck and I always give the analogy of the runway, and the runway is so short right now. I just don't know that this plane is really going to be able to take off.
And I don't know if the Clippers are banking on maybe sticking to the sixth seed and you still get that three six matchup, you still avoid, you know, you still stay out of Denver's bracket. But they're keetering. Yeah, I mean they're already there right now, but I mean they are keetering on ending the season in the plan, and I just don't know how that could at all be sustainable for this team with the combined age and just what you have to go through if you end up in one of those spots.
We knew it wasn't going to be easy to implement new guys, but before the All Star break, they played so well against Phoenix, and that was a game without normal Pale and Eric Gordon really stepped up and Terrence Mann was so good in the starting lineup. It's just, you know, we talk about identity, and we mentioned this on the podcast the other day and I said, it's alarming that they still don't have one this late into the
season. Some of it you understand because they're implementing new guys, but that identity has been a moving target for them. I don't know what it is. Because they started off the year as good defensive team, and offense comes and goes, but they hang their hat on their defense. Their defense. Now since January first, they're twenty seven. I don't know how it could ever be that bad. I mean, I know Zoo has been out recently, and I know he hadn't looked the same as he did early in the
season. But they have enough talent out there. Just having Kawai and Paul George on the court, which they have had more so in twenty twenty three, you think would be enough to help on that end and just not be bottom ten, maybe just middle of the pack. I don't know what's going on there. Yeah, and I mean, honestly, I just twenty sevens
ranked defense. I just this team is not getting very far. Zoo was solid at night, almost had a double double best plus minus net rating on the team, but yeah, he you know, he's not at that peak that we saw him hit earlier in the seaft Clippers lose one o eight to one oh one. Here in downtown Los Angeles to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Their next game coming up on Thursday, and even bigger contests. Now we'll be even more magnified after this loss. They're taking on the Golden State Warriors.
