Parents. Man is pure once again, he's Clippers Talk. I got calls on Clippers Talk, immediate reaction and analysis to today's game. That's what he's capable of, hosted by your pre and post game boys of the LA Clippers, Adam Osler. Well, one team wearing the silver and black was victorious today and unfortunately it wasn't San Antonio Spurs, who beat your Los Angeles Clippers by a final score of one all one to ninety four in San Antonio.

Welcome in to Clippers Talk. I'm atam Oslin. Eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy is the phone number coming up. We're gonna hear from the head coach on Toron Lou and Sergio Baca. But this was another game, and it's been the story all season long. Clippers a bottom five offense. But man, when they have needed points, like in the fourth quarter where they had a lead, they led by as many as five, but then they just went unbelievably ice

cold. In the last seven minutes and twenty three seconds, the Clippers scored two points. That's hard to say. It's hard to get out, hard to wrap your head around after Sir Gebaka hit a hook shot at the end of the shot. Clock was seven minutes and twenty four seconds left. The Clippers had just two more points in the fourth. They would come on a really well executed inbounds play from Reggie Jackson to Terrence Man for the easy layup. But that came with about four minutes left. And how was it?

I was with four eighteen left, Clippers were up ninety four to ninety three San Antonio. With then they would score the next eight points. They win one oh one to ninety four, and things aren't getting any easier for the Clippers as they have a stretch coming up after Monday where they go on the road for eight straight eight games. We told you January was going to be

tough. We knew it was, but that makes taking down a team like the San Antonio Spurs that granted they still have Greg Popovich, but they were fifteen and twenty seven coming into this one. And if you were going to circle and cross off what could be victories for the Clippers during this month of January, you would have thought they could have got a victory against San Antonio. It makes Monday's game even more important against the Indiana Pacers back in downtown

Los Angeles. That is an afternoons start on MLK Day twelve thirty tip against Indiana. We'll have your pregame show starting an eleven thirty. Clippers in the first half had led twenty two to twenty one after the first quarter, but they went four minutes scoreless at the end of the first and it carried over into the second where they scored one point in the stretch of eight minutes. So let's calculate that that means they also went seven minutes I was scoring just

two points. They went fifteen minutes, fifteen minutes and thirty seconds of game time tonight, where they scored a total of three points during over fifteen minutes of on court time. That is brutal. That is hard to watch. It's hard to fathom, and I think there's just too many guys that have run out of gas due to their rules being increased. Reggie Jackson would be

one of those guys. Three of fourteen seven points. Marcus Morris was okay, but he had a couple of bad turnovers in the fourth quarter when he got doubled. Six of seventeen fifteen points and those turnovers came in bunches. In the last five minutes, Eric Bledsoe missed a layup and then had an offensive foul. He was three for eleven, was seven points. Yeah,

there were some bright spot I thought Serge Ibacco was one of them. End of the third quarter, hit two three pointers in the span of two minutes. Clippers were down by five heading into the fourth. Hit a couple of more buckets in that fourth quarter, and really his energy was huge. He had seven offensive rebounds. The Clippers had twenty one as a team. I believe that's a season high. It still gave up fifteen to San Antonio,

but and both teams had fifty four rebounds overall. But I thought Serge fought, battled, and from the end of the third till seven minute mark of the fourth, that was one of the best stints he's played all season long. A mere coffee in that third quarter some of the best basketball he has played all Right, we could say that over the last two weeks. I believe in three of the last four games now, a mere coffee has led the Clippers and scoring. You can say that's maybe a positive and a negative.

It tells you the state of the team right now, because he hasn't gone from more than twenty one during that time. He was very good in that third quarter and he was facilitating and right he only had one assists in the ball game, but five boards, twenty points on seven or thirteen shooting with four three pointers made, and I'm pulling it up a game log now

because i want to confirm that. Yes, in three of the Clippers last four games where he had first twenty one points against Atlanta, then eighteen points against Denver that was a team high, and tonight with his twenty also a team high this time though it comes in a loss. The other two games that were able to win obviously, the twenty five point come back against Denver, but Clippers not exactly treading water right now. They're two games under five

hundred and things. I'm telling you are going to get tougher this month. Now. Isaiah Hartenstein was back, gave them a little bit of a lift, but he only played six minutes. He had six points in six minutes in that second quarter early on two floaters. An encouraging signs there. They need him, they need him healthy, they need him to play obviously a

lot longer than six minutes. But it's understandable. He missed the last thirteen games for them with that right ankle sprain, and I think he's toughen it out right now. Quite honestly, I think he's probably playing through some pain because he knows they need him his energy. There are certain guys with certain motors that we have seen on this Clippers team the last three years. He's

one of them. But before that, it was Pat Bev it was Montrez Harrold, and I used to say this all the time with Patrick Beverley. The beauty of his game, more so than the defense, it was the intangible of just that competitive streak within him where he could turn a regular game during an a two game season into a playoff type atmosphere because the edge he would play with out there and other guys would follow his lead. And maybe

they're missing some of that. I don't know, because lately, defensively it kind of comes and goes. They gave up a thirty five spot in that second quarter, twenty nine points in the third quarter. Now they helped San Antonio to sixteen in the fourth. Problem was Clippers only scored fourteen and they were down by five entering the period, so they haven't been as consistent there. Hopefully Isaiah Hartenstein can fix some of what ails them with the rebounding,

even though he didn't have one in this game. And maybe Iron Sharpen's iron competition is a good thing. Is it a coincidence that Serge Ibacca plays this well with Isaiah Hartenstein's first game with his first game back. Maybe not. You can light a fire under a guy because you don't want to lose minutes. And Serge was awesome Abaca. He had nine boards himself, six points, just played twenty one minutes. Reggie Jackson, though, continues to struggle

three or fourteen. He's been shooting about thirty percent over the last couple of weeks. Outside of that he had against Denver, and it was a spectacular run on that fourth quarter with eleven points, hitting big shot after big shot to come back down twenty five and to bring the Clippers back and across the finish line. Outside that, he just hasn't looked like himself at all. And when Eric Bledsoe also has a tough night, you see the result.

Clipper scored just ninety four after scoring just eighty nine Thursday in New Orleans after scoring just eighty seven Tuesday night against the Denver Nuggets, and they held eighty five in that one. But san Antonio, look, they only scored one hundred one points. The defense was good enough offensively, you can't go over fifteen minutes of game time and scored just three points and win a ball game.

It's just it's too difficult, especially the timing of those. They had some momentum in the first they gave it away at the end of the first quarter when they went cold, and then obviously seven minutes and twenty three seconds where they scored just two points. At the end of this game, san Antonio pulls away with it. Eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy Eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy is the phone number before we

break. We'll take a quick phone call, taking it to the bottom of the hour. Morris in Long Beach, Morris here on Clippers stop without a Moss on that for they lose one on one to ninety four in San Antonio. Him Morris, well, it happens, my brother, they beat us last time. Missing the name of the game I believe is going to be the ten day contracts. Folks is going to be the team of the organization that is successful with these ten day contracts, because nobody's getting the pass on

this stuff. The guys that are the organizations that are successful recruiting guys on the ten day contracts. That's what's gonna keep above water because we're suffering right now. We're suffering right now. It looks pretty bad when we have for thirty eight thirty nine more games ago, but it's gonna get everybody at him. And I wish they could could score more points. They got this guy

over in Philadelphia, just sitting over there on his button getting paid. We work something out with him about I don't know if he's the offensive solution, Morris. I gotta say, I don't know if Ben Simmons is gonna fix things there. And I like Ben Simmons, don't get me wrong. Uh, Look, they just need to get healthy, Morris. We know that they're going deep into their bench right now trying to look for anyone. And

I thought Brandon Boston gave them some decent minutes. He had four points early in the fourth quarter, and Terence Man, well he only had six points, but just two of the Clippers, well, the last two points for the Clippers. They just didn't get enough. If they get Luke Nard back, that would be huge for them. When you're talking about scoring, you better believe it. I'll talk to you next time. Man. All right,

more appreciate the phone call. We'll take a quick break. Clippers lose one on one to ninety four, and San Antonio we'll update you on the Western Conference standings. I tell you how bunched up they are. Slipper's not the only team lose on tonight. Money getting Let me tell you, yeah, I'm not. The score can be a lot more lopside than one on one to ninety four. That's all I'm gonna say. More. Clipper stop next to get into the pain or die trying. We'll see if Coach Flew

reiterates his philosophies. Pull out postgame audio from him and Sergerbacca right here on Clippers Stop on AM five seven La spots. He took me I your mama picking him mans. I'm on the next snivel white link booget bezil bins to the meadow out of in the ticket, this is LA Clippers basketball quarter three for the time he got it. This is the official hole of your LA Clippers, we have the five, then we call it downright light white Clippings.

Clippers score just two points in the final seven minutes. They lose by seven. Let's Saint Antonio one oh one to ninety four to Furst open back into Clippers stock. I met i'm oslin. Eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy is the phone number. Clippers currently sitting in that eight spot in the Western Conference. That means play in tournament. Now right in front of them, it would be

a team that is Kevin Figures would say, got molly wapped tonight. They Los Angeles Lakers lost by thirty seven. In Denver. Clippers got their own problems, but things could be worse. Lakers in front of them in that seventh spot. Denver in front of them by two games in the sixth spot. So that's kind of that area where you're trying to climb out of the play in and make it into a secure seed. Because one through six they all make the playoffs. Seven through ten, they got to fight for it.

Clippers. I thought there was some fight. I thought there was some effort out there. I highlighted some of those guys earlier, Serge Isaiah Hartenstein a mere coffee. They just couldn't hit shots whatsoever, and they had bad turnovers late. And then I'll do yet. So let's hear from the head coach. After the Clippers lose one on one to ninety four, here was coach Lou post game speaking with the media. I means it's a loss. I mean we played get don't have to win the game, and just we

can't. You know, we just couldn't score in the basketball. Had too many six seven minute stretches when we didn't score the basketball. So when you playing the defensively we did, I thought it was pretty solid defensively, got some good shots. Offensive we just did we didn't make. And then I thought down a stretch we struggle. We just wouldn't the size of them what we wanted to do, you know, as far as attacking get into the basketball, we're supposed to do. But I mean, you know, like

I said, it was a good fight. They made more players down to stretch than we did. I mean, you say, effort, What what was that you said? You said effort, that's for the freest key. Basically, you know, bringing that sixteen point lead down there. No, I thought we scored the ball in that second quarter, I ain't that third quarter, you know, scoring thirty three points in that second quarter, which

guys back in the game, but you know wasn't enough. You have just think we have to go through too many spurts where we just don't score the basketball. So we had to got to get to the free throw line. You know, we got to score two points, and we weren't able to do that tonight. Like I said, they got to the line twenty seven times and we was only able to get there eight times, So that hurt us. That's been a problem all years, even when Paul, you're getting

to the free throw line, like I know you said before. The only thing you can do about that if the team doing that enough. And what do they need to do to get there more often? I think just keep attacking on closeouts. I think, you know, when teams are helping heavier than they we swing it flow past attacking the basket. And I we went there enough tonight when we didn't get the calls that we you know, thought we should have got. But they was aggressive getting to the basket. You

know, that's how they play. They love to live in the paint. And like I said, they had twenty seven free throws and we only had eight. Went into the decision too small because it's also they closed small as well and actually say, oh that's the n just a switch defensively, So it was just really work defensive purpose at all. Yeah, nothing hard said that you either got to get up the free throw line or you gotta spot some point. Do you feel that the teams that time of becoming dumber,

Well, I think we just gotta take the defense gives us. You know, I think we make we make a conscious effort to get to the paint and get to the basket. They take that away. Then we got to make the right play in the right pass, and so I thought we try to attack getting to the basket. You know, they're heavy, you know, shrink team. There are no paint, so they took that away. You know, we didn't make shots early in their first half, and then

the second half, I thought we started to make some shots. You know, I thought a mirror opened that game up for us a little bit and started as will you know, making a couple of threes. So look, I thought we played the right way trying to get into the paint, trying to make the right play, and we didn't make shots early, and then we did in the third quarter, was able to get back in the game. There was coach Loup post game after the Clippers lose one oh one to

ninety four in San Antonio. So we bring up them going scoreless in the last four minutes in eighteen seconds, and I got this for our friend Joey Lynn from si Now on Twitter from that moment on Clippers up ninety four to ninety two, four eighteen left coffee, miss Morris, turnover, Morris turnover, but tune turnover, blood cell, miss blood cell, turnover, Morris, miss Reggie miss Clippers lose one on one and anty four. So pretty clear cut way to put it. Coming up next, we'll get back to

your phone calls. Eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy is the phone number. I'm at a Maslin and you're listening to Clipper stuff here on the M five seventy alay sports. I gotta get it rill down because of the one that just saved me. Hey, I don't take that chance, she swears in going to leave the wish. She thinks the shutting up my tree wish. This is LA Clippers basketball quarter three for the time he got it. This is the official home of your LA Clippers. Got a hit,

boy, because I got out of hits? What got that? Drick? You got a chick? I mean on my lone mouse? Drick? No chill got that rapp to pay your bills? Yeah, I'm on some rappers pay my bills. Clippers lose one on one to ninety four in San Antonio to the Spurs. So after they go over seven minutes and score just two points to end the game in the fourth quarter, welcome back in the Clipper stock. I'm at a Moslin. The offensive woes continue. I'm here

to talk about it. Eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy eight six six nine eight seven two five seventy tags and walnut. You're on Clipper stock without a Maslin high tages. Hey, what's up at I'm I'm not gonna lie that that loss was a little deflating. Now we're gonna pull that out when we're up five. But h who an't talk to you about two things? One? Does it seem like, uh with the tarting lineup, we're kind of missing a playmaker. It's like a lot more evident when Paul

George went out. You see the struggles with Reggie Jackson, and I just think he's a much better player when he's not always having to create, and when he gets the ball and they're receiving end and when the defense is kind of on skates, is able to kind of really you know, make his mark. He does it at times it's right now being a playmaker, but I don't think that's his calling right now, and it's not his strength.

A lot of guys are playing outside their comfort zone and trying to make it work because as you mentioned Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, and we knew Kawhi was going to be there coming into the season at least, but Paul George even he had more on his plate because no Kawhi in the playmaking department. And so then you put that responsibility on him and everybody knows the ball is going to be in his hands a lot, and then you take that away

too. And it's no surprise that the Clippers have struggled this much with their

ball movement and they had fifteen turnovers leading to seventeen points. Yeah, and you know, when they're not hitting their shots and transition, it's going to be a really difficult game to win the way that their half court offense is going to right now, so many games it seems like their half court offense when they're passing the ball, they end up shooting a contested shot a lot of the times, and they're not having that space that they're generally, you

know, used to, and that's again, you know, product of not having PG and Kauai. But in which kind of you know, I would have liked to see Xavier Moon. I'm not saying he's the answer, but you know, for three or four minutes he I would have liked to see him. He does have a good feel for the game. I feel like he just gives them a different look where he speeds the game up. He can create the tempo and get some you know, open looks for some of

these guys to make it easier. That's one thing. And the other thing I would I was going to ask you when Luke Canard comes back, do you imagine that I'm your coffee will stay in the starting lineup because he's been playing really well and I don't know if there's any need to take him out. And I think Luke Anart had a good, you know, chemistry with Man, so I don't know. I kind of like having Luke Nark come off the bench to give that punch. But what do you think, Dave,

just thank you for the phone call. I think it's likely maybe it'll be matchup dependent because Luke was playing really well starting with the offense. That floor spacing was there and helped the Clippers and their offense get off to better starts. But he also works well and that's the good thing with the lit crew with Luke, Isaiah and Terrence Man, and I could see those three

providing that spark once again off the bench with the second unit. I was a little bit surprised that Xavier Moon didn't get a run in this game. I mean, Jay scrub was out there, We saw him, although he wasn't overly effective Thursday night, who was against the Pelicans or even win in

Gabriel. But look, Coach Lou, I wonder if part of it was saying, okay, he took out the starters early against New Orleans when the Clippers are down by nineteen in the first quarter and went deep into his bench, and I wonder if this was an opportunity for them to get more minutes and prove themselves and make up for what happened Thursday night. Obviously it didn't work out that way, but Marcus Morris played thirty seven minutes, played heavy

minutes out there and at times looked very good. But with he and Reggie in a bit of a funk the last week or so, Reggie and extended shooting slump right now, it's gonna be tough to win ballgames for this team. Those are the two top guys right now. That's the way it is, option a, option one, a one, however you want to put it. Those are the two top scores, and if they're not leading them, if they're not being overly effective, it makes it tough for everybody else.

Unfortunately, Clippers lose one on one to ninety four and sent Antonio, we'll take a quick break, we'll come back. We'll preview Monday's game afternoon contest on MLK Day on Monday, Clippers back and down town Los Angeles taken on the Indiana Pacers twelve thirty tip time, eleven thirty pre game. Clippers losers of two in a row now and called by seven in San Antonio. This is Clipper stock. I'm at a Maslin and you're listening to Amy seventy

Sports. Yo, hope. This is LA Clippers basketball corner three for the time he got it. This is the official home of your LA Clippers. Many offendial this barn. Clippers go three sixteen from the field in the final nine minutes and they lose one on one to ninety four in San Antonio. Welcome back into Clipper Stock. I'm at a Maslin. Clippers next game coming up Monday back in town town, Los Angeles against the Indiana Pacers. I

thought this was interesting. I see this from Andrew Griffe of the La Times does great covers for the LA Times with the Clippers Clippers and one hundred plus shots and twenty one plus offensive rebounds. Well, those are good numbers. In fact, teams this season when they achieve those goals in those categories, when you get up that made shots, when you gather that may offensive rebounds,

teams were six in two entering tonight. Now they're six in three after the Clippers lose, even though they ended up with one hundred field goal attempts twenty one offensive rebounds. And Andrew Gryf, also speaking with a Mere Coffee post game, said, to paraphrase a Mere Coffee, he felt the Clippers took good shots despite their long scoring draughts, but when it wasn't working, he was it was because of the same things Nicholas Batoum talked about earlier this

week. The ball wasn't moving side to side. You gotta have that Ariana grande side to side ball, you just do. Clippers, they weren't playing hot potato. They weren't sharing the sugar enough, and they paid for it late, not generating enough open looks. The last seven minutes and twenty three seconds they scored just two points. Almost seems impossible. I double checked it. It's true. Clippers lose by seven in San Antonio. I gotta figure

things out quickly because the road ahead is a treacherous one. They have a home game coming up Monday, MLK Day. After that, it's eight straight the Grammy road trip. Where are the Grammy's happen or not? Clippers are going to be on the road for eight straight, So that makes you zero in on Monday's game against Indiana. And they've struggled over all this season.

They are fifteen and twenty eight one and nine their last ten. Hey, san Antonio was also one of nine their last ten and had lost five straight. Doesn't matter. Clippers are in no position to overlook anyone, but they gotta dig deep and find a way to get a victory Monday against the Indiana Pacers again, tip time at twelve thirty Clippers Countdown at eleven thirty AM.

Before we get out of here, I do want to thank the Clippers organization, Noah Eagle, Brian Seamen, Mike Retello, Jamie Moggio with Valley Sports on the simulcast today? Did I mention Ralph Lawler? I know he wasn't on the simul cast, but I always gotta get Ralph from there back here in Burbank, Katie Newton until Monday at eleven thirty AM with their Clippers Countdown show. Sorry, Colin, I'm Adam Osen We'll talk to you then.

This has been Clippers talk. They accepted the challenge, your first post game opportunity to talk LA Clippers without aim Os. It's what we've always seen from him to the next game for all the action on the official home of your LA Clippers, and I just absolutely loved listen to the games on the radios out goodbye, and check out the Clippers Talk podcast on the iHeartRadio app.
