The Time Machine - Chapter 4 - Time Travelling

When the inventor of the world's first time travel machine takes it out for the first time, he finds himself catapulted through time, quickly whirling into a grey world of confusion. 
 
Coming to a stop and looking around, he sees a colossal figure of white marble and bronze - a figure that watches him with sightless eyes and a hint of a smile - and then the sun bursts through the clouds, revealing a beautiful summer landscape. The inventor is suddenly filled with panic; he turns back to the machine to flee, only to find himself surrounded by small creatures in purple tunics.

He soon realizes they come in peace, and regains his confidence. The inventor's heart-pumping first time travel experience marks the beginning of amazing new adventures in the future.
