Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde - Chapter 10 - Henry Jekyll's Full Statement of the Case (Part 1)

Finally we hear directly from Dr Jekyll on the mysterious events taking place. Having always had the sense of two natures, good and evil dwelling within people, Jekyll describes his search to find out a way to split them in two. He imagines a world where we could be freed from the evil side and deal only with the good.

Through experimentation in his laboratory he stumbles on a formula that might enable that to happen and eventually decides to take the risk of finding out what will happen. He describes the first transformation and finds that the person he has become is indeed part of his nature - but the good side has been entirely stripped away.
