Episode description

Angela Beeching is the author of Beyond Talent: Creating a Successful Career in Music. Many guests have suggested that I read this book, and I was thrilled when one day she contacted me to be on the podcast, which not only gave me a great excuse to finally read it, but also a wonderful opportunity to speak with her about the book.

Today's episode is part one of a two part conversation, and we discuss imposter syndrome, how to determine if opportunities are what she calls "stars, dogs, cash cows, or problem children," how prodigies might face more challenges creating successful careers than we may think, how to organize your career into manageable projects, how to watch for opportunities in your life so they don't pass you by, and more. In part two we'll discuss the ins and out of self promotion, writing a great resume and more so if you   enjoy today's conversation make sure to subscribe wherever you get your podcasts.
