Proof of Life 9 - Living in a World of Lies
Proof of Life 8 - The Loved Unlovely
As Christians we approach God with confidence; not based on our loveliness, but our lovedness. This week we look at what it means to preach the Gospel to yourself, and in doing so lead a life based on what God says, not what our heart says any given day. It's one thing to believe in God, but do you believe Him? Have a listen.
Proof of Life 7 - Zero Shades of Grey
How do we know what love is? That's the key question in this week's sermon from One John. Then, once we know what love is, what does this mean for us? What does this love look like among Christian;, and why is it so important that Jesus commanded us to love like He loves? Have a listen to find out!
Proof of Life 6 - The Paternity Test
Continuing in our series through One John, this week we look at what it means to be called Children of God. How do we become His children? How do we know that we belong to Him? And what does change in our lives? Check it out!
Proof of Life 5 - What to do with False Teachers?
Does it actually matter what you believe? Can't we just love God and love others, and let that be it? In his first letter, John tells us that it DOES matter when it comes to who you say Jesus is; even calling people who proclaim a different Jesus 'anti-christs'. So, how do we know we're loving God? How do we know we're treating people in a way that is actually loving? We look to the person and work of Jesus. Have a listen!
Proof of Life 4 - You Know God
In his first letter, John shows us that because of what Jesus has done, our sins are forgiven, we know God as our loving father, and we have overcome the evil one! He also writes about the tactics used by the evil one to draw our focus and affection away from God, and onto the things of the world. In this week's sermon, Don shows why John's encouragements assure us of the saving work of God; and how John's warnings help us to love what Jesus loves. Have a listen!
Proof of Life 3 - The Change that Leads to Life
John writes that his readers should 'walk in the same way' Jesus walked, and that our obedience to the Father doesn't lead to our salvation, but rather shows that we have already been saved by Him. So, how did Jesus walk? Jesus knew & loved the Father; trusted Him, and His love and trust outworked in Jesus’ perfect obedience. What does this mean for us? Have a listen to find out.
Proof of Life 2 - Walk in the Light
This week Stu Sampson preaches out of 1 John 1:5-2:2

Christ Alone
Grace Alone
Grace has been sung about, written about, talked about, preached about... do you understand it? Faith Alone

This week Joel takes us to scripture to find answers to all of these questions, and shows how we can have great confidence and rest in the finished work of Jesus. Have a listen!
Scripture Alone
Christmas 2016 - What's in a name?
Before Jesus was born, an angel came separately to both Mary and Joseph telling them what His name should be - because He was named Jesus, not just so that we'd know what to call Him, but because His name (and many other names by which He's known) tells us about who He is, and what He came to do. This week we look at the importance of Jesus' name, and how what we call Him shapes our own lives. Have a listen!
CityLight 4th Birthday
CityLight just turned 4, and we have a lot to celebrate! God has been at work in us and through us for His glory and our joy; today we hear some of the stories resulting from that work, and look at how we can continue to participate in God's work in the world.
The Body - How To Be A Better Lover
When Jesus saves, He saves you into relationship with God, AND relationship with other Christians. Jesus talked about this a lot; the writers of the New Testament talked about this a lot... but we seem to embrace a very individualistic, even consumeristic way of approaching Church and Christian community. This week we look at what Jesus had to say about being in community, what that looks like, and how it changes the way we relate to each other, to God, and to the world. Have a listen!...
Honour your Father & Mother - How To Be A Better Lover
In this week's sermon, we continue the series How To Be A Better Lover; looking at the command to honour your father and mother. Jake takes us to scripture to see how we can do this in a culture that doesn't honour parenthood, and even devalues it. What about for those who are parents - what does this look look like? And lastly, what could happen if a community came together honouring the role of mothers and fathers? Have a listen to find out!
Dating & Marriage - How To Be A Better Lover
Have you ever wondered what marriage is about ? Is it just when two people really love each other, and want to make a commitment? And what about dating? How does that work? This week we continue the 'How To Be A Better Lover' series, looking at romantic relationships - and see that God really cares about how we approach this area of our lives. Is it just about two people falling in love? Or is there so much more? Have a listen!
Conflict & Grace - How To Be A Better Lover
We don't do conflict well. Whether it's disagreeing neighbours, ideologies, or countries; we seem to be less and less likely to genuinely listen, seek the good of the other, and bring grace with truth to the situation. So what do we do with conflict? What does scripture have to say about it? Is it possible to live a life free from taking offense? And how DO you communicate truth in a grace-filled way? Have a listen to find out!
What about me? - How To Be A Better Lover
Week 2 of How To Be A Better Lover - This week we look at the many messages we get from culture about 'me'. Is life all about my self-actualisation? Is my happiness going to lead to my fulfilment? What's an appropriate response to these messages, and how does the Gospel free us from trying to be a better me? Have a listen!
Intimacy - How To Be A Better Lover
Intimacy - we were made for it, but we often miss out on life-giving intimate relationships when we reduce intimacy to being all about sex. This week we look at how to have intimacy; with God, with each other, with your spouse, and with your kids/parents. It could be a life changer for you. Have a listen!
Dreams & Visions
When the Holy Spirit was promised, the Old Testament prophet Joel said it would come with young men & women speaking prophetically, and young & old having visions and dreams. When the Spirit was poured out at Pentecost, this happened! So, what does that mean for men & women, young & old today? This week Don takes us through some of Acts 2:15-21, to find out!
Ecclesiastes 8 - Fear God?
What does it mean to fear God? Ecclesiastes mentions the fear of God on multiple occasions - could it be that there is a fear that helps us experience the love of God? This week Joel Ken wraps up our series in Ecclesiastes, finishing where the book does - exploring the wisdom in the fear of God. Check it out!
Ecclesiastes 7 - Words
Your words are very significant - we see this throughout scripture; but Solomon takes specific aim in Ecclesiastes at how you use your words - for building up, for tearing down... for exercising wisdom, or embracing foolishness. This week Don takes stock of our words, and shows us how we can be what Proverbs calls a 'fountain of life'. Have a listen!
Ecclesiastes 6 - No Regrets
What does it look like to live a life of no regrets? This week John Harris opens up Ecclesiastes to show us how to live a life of satisfaction - as this series continues to parade our idols in front of us; showing how each one lacks - but true contentment for people made for eternity, can only be found in eternal things. Check it out!
Ecclesiastes 5 - Pleasure
If fulfilment came through seeking pleasure in experiences, purchases, sex, control, success, and relationships, we'd have a lot more satisfied people walking around! In Ecclesiastes, Solomon warns against looking to these things as the source of pleasure; and shows us how they can be freely enjoyed when we're already fully satisfied in the joy of the Lord. Have a listen to find out how!
Ecclesiastes 4 - Pain, Evil, Suffering, Death
The preacher in Ecclesiastes doesn't shy away from the hard topics, and neither did our guest preacher Dr Tom Golding.
