Episode description

The anticipation of greater urban concentrations is bringing challenges to urban mobility and planning. Cities are looking to technologies like 5G, connected transport and micro-mobility to deliver effective and equitable solutions to their citizens. Any solutions must also foster innovation and inclusion while building on existing infrastructure -- in fact, the three pillars at this year’s United States Conference of Mayor were: infrastructure, inclusion and innovation. In this episode, City Talks chats with Raymond Hess, Transportation Manager for the City of Ann Arbor, to discuss how strategies to meet mobility challenges are unique to each city and how data plays a critical role in understanding key mobility trends and informing decisions on how to accommodate traffic fluctuations, curb side management, and more.
