In the last few weeks, the Biden administration and the Bureau of Land Management came out with their long-awaited Western Solar Plan, an ambitious project to open up 31 million acres of federal land for much-needed solar energy projects, 12 million of which would be in Nevada. But nearby Nye County, home of many of those proposed sites, isn’t too happy about it. Today, co-host Dayvid Figler talks with Mason Voehl, executive director of the Amargosa Conservancy in Nye County, who just penned an op-ed advocating for a “balanced” approach to solar development — so could this be the solution we all need?
