Episode description

Circus Voices presents a short series of podcasts titled  'Monkey See, Monkey Discuss’ created by Ruby Burgess and Rosie Kelly. Rosie has been part of the organising team for both the British and the European Juggling Convention as well as organising her own convention (CATCH!) in 2018. Ruby recently graduated from Circomedia in Bristol with a BA in Contemporary Circus and Physical Theatre.

Do we have a best before date? In this episode we discuss the circus industries approach to age and the effect that it has on the work we’re creating. We look at the attitudes towards ageing in different fields and the barriers that it can create. When aesthetic becomes politics, how can we ensure that all perspectives are represented?
