Goddess Saraswati is the wife of Brahmadev.
She is the Goddess of knowledge, art.
On Dasehra, the leaves of the tree named Apata are exchanged as if they are gold coins. The story behind that is explained.
Our Hindu culture is based on sacrifice.
So to establish peace and prosperity Goddess Saraswati is worshipped on Dasara.
