A Mothers Story: Life After Abuse ft Lisa Griffin

Welcome back to another episode of Chronicles of a Virgo Podcast. This week we will continue our awareness conversation around Sexual Assault. Today on the podcast, I am joined by my mother Lisa Griffin. She will be speaking from a parents perspective of missing the signs that I was being abused in our home and how it affected our family.



In this episode, the main points that are covered in this discussion are:



- The feelings and thoughts she had when she found out that I was being abused - How the situation affected our family and her parenting style - Her healing journey and dealing with guilt as a parent - Things that she would of done differently during that time - Advice and prevention suggestions for others



The intended purpose of this conversation was to raise awareness on the topic of Sexual Assault, but to also show the importance of these things needing to be addressed more and to forbid the cardinal household rule "What happens in this house, stays in this house."



It is my hope that no one has to suffer in silence or face public scrutiny from others due to speaking out on their abuse, but as a community we can come together to hold those predators accountable for their actions and to protect and believe survivors.
