This time, we're going to be picking up right where we left off with Superhot VR, which, as you may recall, was me frantically grabbing a pyramid as a helicopter came careening toward me. So we're going to find out what happened next there. Before we dive in, though, real quick, listening back to the last episode, I am now
very self -conscious about the little, eh. noise I apparently make when throwing things in VR. I really hope I don't do that in real life. That is a new anxiety that is unlocked. Thank you very much, podcasting. Setting that aside, I think without any further ado, let's just dive right back in. So here is Superhot VR. Hardware error rebooting. I guess that was the end of that segment. There's a I'm back in the menu I don't I don't know who this nerd is. I don't
know who this nerd is. So super hot disc C let's insert that All the way in loading loading And put on the headset. Here we go. Back in. White space. There's a knife this time. Knife. Oh, that guy's got a shotgun. So, I'm in an alleyway. There are three men here. One very close with a shotgun. Two far away behind cars. There's a shotgun to my left. A couple bottles as well. I'm gonna throw this knife. Throw. Got him. Let's grab this shotgun. And his. Block. And then bring
around, and we'll just do a double fire. Like that. Wow, the shotgun really advances time. But I did just kill all three in one shot. Or two shots. One on each hand. I'm going to throw a shotgun. Throw a pistol, just in case. Never know. And grab the pyramid. Okay. Another alleyway. Guy with a knife in front of me. Guy with an Uzi on a fire escape. Car behind me. Guy with nothing to my far right. Let's punch. Grab knife. Throw knife. Dodge bullet. Throw bottle. Yeah,
looks like bottle will work. Guy on the right fired, but I think I can handle him. Damn. You ever have that feeling where you're not sure if you're awake or still dreaming? I was wrong about the one on the left. He didn't die. All right. So knife. Throw a shotgun guy. Grab shotgun. Grab shotgun. Aim. Dock. Fire. That's so cool. Yeah. That's awesome. All right. Grab the pyramid. Okay. Bottle. Throw. Knife. Just let time advance
a little bit. And... Throw. Crouch. Bottle. Okay, looks like the knife got the guy with the gun. So that's good. Let's... I'm going to advance time a little bit and grab this gun out of the air because I want it. We're going to block these bullets. Block. And block. And throw bottle. Block bullets. The bottle's going to miss, but I've got the gun now, so let's pop. Got it. Tricky. Pyramid. Okay, guy in front of me with a shotgun. I'm in a hallway. Guy with a shotgun to my left.
I'm actually on a balcony, it looks like. Well, what? I'll take that shotgun, thank you. I'm gonna pop your buddy back here. Boom. And you. Boom. Is that it? Oh, there's a third guy coming around the corner. Oh, shotguns only have two rounds. Well, I can throw it. Pop. Got him. Special delivery is the stage. I'm in an alley. There's a car in front of me with the trunk open. Guy with an axe running toward me. Pistol dropping down in front of me. Two more guys in the distance.
One with an Uzi. One with a shotgun. I think, actually, we fire at Uzi guy. And then at shotgun guy. I imagine that right now you're feeling a bit like Alice. Tumbling down the rabbit hole? Nope, that was the wrong choice. Axe guy did get me in time. All right, knife. Throw a shotgun. Grab shotgun. Oh, I think I missed with the knife. Okay, so shotgun. Nope. Right now, we're inside a computer program. Try that again. Nice. Throw. There we go. Grab both shotguns. Duck a little
bit. Aim and fire. Got him. Pyramid. Okay. Bottle to guy with knife. Grab knife. Throw at guy with gun. I think that missed. Bottle. Bottle. Dodge bullet. Throw bottle. Oh, I missed again. Uh, that's not good. Uh, okay. Can I? Yep, I can. Grab bullets. Take that. Throw. Can I throw a bullet? No. I can't throw a bullet. But I can grab gun. Shoot left. Nope. Like a splinter in your mind. That was not right. Okay. Knife. Throw at guy with shotgun. Grab shotgun. Grab shotgun.
Aim. Duck. What? Got him. All right. Bottle. Actually, can I just punch this guy? Pop. Yep. Punch guy with knife. Grab knife. Let's throw bottle and throw knife. That may not have worked out. Let's see. Left guy just firing at me. Yep, I am definitely gonna die. Okay, bottle. Let's see if I can kill this guy with the handgun. Okay, that's gonna hit. Got me. Nice. Probe. Shotgun, shotgun. Boom. And fire. Looks like I need to do another shot. Pop. There we go.
Can I bring a pistol with me? No, I cannot. Okay. So, bottle, throw. Nope. Fear, doubt, and disbelief. Free your mind. Alright. I'll be back when I figure this out. Ignorance is bliss. Okay, I think this might be a good run. Killed the first guy with the knife. Killed the second guy with the handgun with the knife. Pick up a bottle. Now I just got the Uzi guy. Can I get this gun? Can I get this gun? Got it! Okay, now I can bring it up around. I'm gonna aim. He's aiming right
at me. Shit. Okay, I'm going to lean to the right and fire. Yes! Got him. Alright. We're back, baby. Grab the pyramid. Okay, guy in front of me with the shotgun. Let's take that. Aim around him. Fire shotgun. Punch him in the gut. And again in the arm. Kill his buddy on the right. There we go. Grab pyramid. Special delivery. Grab the gun out of the air. It's gotta be this guy with the axe first. Pop. Grab his axe. Other buddy fired. But this one hasn't yet. Let's kill
the one. This is the, uh, I should mention, this is the alley with the open car and the axe. Three guys. Two of them with guns. I am going to shoot the one on the right. Yep. Duck. All of their gunfire. Yeah, looks like that'll work. And then shoot the one on the left. Might have missed. Let's see. Yep. Nope, got him. Grabbed the pyramid. Okay, I'm in a room. Fluorescent lights. Three men with guns in front of me. Bunch of dead bodies in front of me as well. I don't see any weaponry.
One of them's running towards me. Dodge bullet. Dodge bullet. Dodge bullet. Okay. Alright. We're gonna matrix time this, I guess. I'm gonna duck there. Grab the front one's gun. Ooh. Those bullets went right over my head. He's no longer a threat, so I'm actually gonna shoot the one on the left.
Nope. I may have to. cut some of this and come back we'll see knife to the dome grab both shotguns aim and fire hey achievement unlocked bloody mess and i see a shotgun on a post -it note fall in front of me all right first of all okay bottle nope oh he missed the guy with the knife missed can i grab his knife pop nope Nope. Do you believe that my being stronger or faster has anything to do with my muscles in this place? Knife to shotgun. Shotgun. Fire. Maybe do an extra shot
to be safe. Done. Okay. Now, bottle. Grab knife. Throw knife. Grab bottle. Grab bottle. There we go. Guy with Uzi on balcony. We're going to try the same trick again. Grab the gun. Bring it to bear. And... Fire. Got him. Pyramid. Okay, this is... Oh, this is... I'm going to take this dude's shotgun. Fire it at his buddy. Punch him. Buddy comes around on the left and... Boom! Done. Crap. Okay. Alleyway. Axe and the two gun guys. Grab a pistol. Blow away axe guy. Grab his axe.
Blow away shotgun guy. Dodge a little. And fire. Oh, I missed. Okay. Another shot. That hit. Got him. Alright. Three guys in the room with dead bodies again. Bullet time. Boom. Time. Time. Okay. I think I can step right to dodge those. Yep. Advance time a little bit. Let's swing left. Yep. That ducks that guy. And that one. Looks like I can step right to dodge these shots. Grab gun. Oops. Did not mean to fire that. Let's block. And block. And fire. Duck. Yep, that worked.
Transferred hands. Oh, shit. The guy in the front. Damn, the guy in the front punched me. Then hit me, if you can. Forgot he wasn't dead. Knife. Throw. Shotgun. Shotgun. Boom. Grab. Bottle. Can I just take this guy's knife? Yep, sure can. Alright. Bottle. Knife. Nope, those missed. Grab your bullet? Nope, I guess not. Okay. This is gonna be hard. Okay. Bottle. Dodge bullets. Whoa. Block. Okay. Grab bullet. Throw bullets. Yep. Looks like I can throw bullets, actually. Grab
gun. Aim. And fire. Got him. Pyramid. Okay. Two guys with shotguns. Take your shotgun. Shoot your friend. Punch you a couple of times. And boom. Easy. All right. Alleyway. Gun. Axe guy. Grab axe. Shotgun guy. And pistol guy. Whoa! That guy shot his shotgun, but I avoided it narrowly. Got him! Alright, up here. Three guys with guns. Is there... Wait, I can grab the bullets, I think. Slowly advance time. Dayfire. I'm going to dodge to the side. Reach out. Grab. Grab. Yep. Got
that. Throw. I said throw. I said throw. Whoa. Okay. I guess that doesn't work all the time. I'm going to take this guy's gun. Shoot him. Dodge his buddies. Shoot one. Dodge again. Shoot two. Whew. I think I tried to make that one more complicated than it had to be. All right, we're back in the void. Pistol and go. Okay, on a rooftop. No, cemetery, I think. Guy standing in front of me in front of a grave. Can't, he doesn't see me. I don't see any others around me. Let's
just pop this guy. Oh, that was easy. Okay, behind a gravestone. Two Uzis and a briefcase. Ooh, a guy with a shotgun. Let's just get behind some cover and pop up. Got him. Any others? I don't see... Oh, there's another one to the right. Ooh, and the left. Let's spray that guy. Drop this Uzi. Grab this shotgun. Boom. Take the guy on the right. There's one left coming around the gravestone. Pop. That did it. That one's not too bad. Pyramid. Last words. Okay, I'm in
front of a cathedral. There are three guys with shotguns. Really? And no weaponry. I don't think the same trick's gonna work this time. Let me think about this. I was just back there. Not too bright, though. Yeah, they shot me. But I know where I was, so I think I can pass along a weapon. In fact, maybe I can even pass along from here if I'm slow enough. Okay, grab Uzis. Got those two. Grab a shotty. One on the right. Got him. There'll be one more on the left. There
he is. Shoot him. Got him. All right. Now, I want to throw this shotgun and this Uzi. God damn it. The throwing did not work. The throwing did not work. These guys are going to shoot me. There's one shot. it's pretty clustered can i dodge it yeah okay okay dodged hey the pyramid appeared i only had to dodge what are you waiting for you're faster than this what uh so they they still shot even with the pyramid invisible let's try that again all right guy in front of grave
what that bam get rid of him Pyramid. Grab Uzi and spray. And spray. Oh, they're all coming from the right this time. It's a little different. Interesting. Drop two shotguns. Let's try again. Get these. No. Up there. Go. Alright. Last words, but my shotgun's coming. My shotgun's coming. Come here. Come here. Come here. Come here. Come here. Come here. Yes. Got the shotgun. Bring it around. Ooh, duck. I think I dodged. Boom. Got one. Ground's grounded. And we're out. Nope.
Wasn't out. Shot me again. These human beings define their reality through misery and suffering. Man. Punch, and throw, and grab, and Uzis, shoot. Another one to the left, shoot. Another one to the right, shoot. Shoot. There we go, got both of them. Okay, now, I want this shotgun to be over there. And grab. Oh man, the shotgun broke. Okay, guess we're dodging them. Uh, big spray is, I think, just down? Yep, that worked. Can
I please grab the pyramid? Yes! Hey, alright, I've appeared on a balcony behind those guys with two Uzis. Whoops, didn't mean to fire that, but that's alright. Got one of them. Nope, got two of them. This Uzi's empty. I got a pistol here. Just have to be a little more accurate. There. Got him. Pyramid. Okay. Over and out is the name of this one. I am now off to the side. I've got a trunk full of guns in front of me. Shotgun, pistol, two Uzis. I see three guys coming
at me with guns. Let's do pistol and Uzi. I think pistol for... the guy on the left yeah i think uzi oh there's two on the right uzi on the right got one there's a guy on a balcony let's try to him and dodge super got him moving on back in the white void there is a hole punch yeah a hole punch made out of crystal in front of me um okay sure why not grab okay i'm in an office at a desk there's a guy with a gun in front of me i have a hole punch throw oh well he blew
that out of the air but there's a gun here in the drawer next to me and i bet i can take his if i duck and i'm careful Got it. Pop. Sucker. Oh, there are two more coming. One with a gun. Let's aim for him. And him. Got him. Nice. Pyramid. Take a peek. There's a door in front of me. I'm in a small room. It's opening. There's an ashtray here next to me. Oh, guy with a gun coming through the door. Throw it. Nope. You're empty. Oh, didn't mean to throw that that way. Got him. All right.
Take a peek. Take a peek. Ashtray. Throw. Oh, dodge. Nope. Didn't quite dodge. That is the sound of inevitability. Okay. Hole punch. Throw. Got him that time. Grab gun out of air. Run out of desk. Shoot. Block a bullet. Shoot the other one. Got him. Okay. I wonder. Oh, I see. I see where I spawn next time. Can I throw these guns over there? Gun. And gun. And grab. And guns.
Are you here? No. didn't make it damn it it is the sound of your death this guy coming out the door is really getting me okay take a peek this time let's just as the door opens Let's just reach out. Let's just reach out. And... Nope. This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. Couldn't quite get to his gun in time. Okay, throw. Hole punch. Grab guns. Aim at the guys on the right. Right. That should do. Can I throw these guns? Over there, please.
Okay. Ashtray. Throw. Duck. Nope, missed. Grab gun. Yep, that'll work. Okay, looks like there's just two. One and two. Oop, there's a third guy behind him. Down the hall. Ah, he blocked his... The dying one blocked my shot. Let's try again. Yeah, that should do it. Advance time. Got him. Oof, made it. Wrong floor. Oh, yep. This does seem like the wrong floor. I'm in an elevator. There's a guy with a gun and oh, two guys with guns. Let's grab those. You guys should not have
these. They are dangerous. And then bam, bam. Got him. That was a lot of fun. I like that stage. Grab the pyramid. Okay. Elevator doors are opening. I've got ninja stars here. Grab a couple ninja stars. Guy's shooting at me. Let's ninja. Nope, that's gonna miss. Ninja. Ninja star. I'm dodging a lot of bullets. There's three guys here, it looks like, with Uzis. They're firing a lot. I've got ninja stars. Seems to be working, actually. I think I took two of them. Oh, missed that one.
Grab this ninja star and throw boo booze. All right. Let's see if we can get this last guy done Guns are way better than ninja stars Crash the party. Okay. I'm at a dinner table. There's a guy to my left and a shotgun Throw the cup at him grab the shotgun guy coming around to my right boom guy across from me Super Hulk. Yeah. And that's it for that section. Computer screen says, you are dedicated. And, um... I don't see another disc. Wait, reach inside. Okay,
so I'm back in that room, right? One of the computers says reach inside, and a floppy disc just came out of the monitor of one of them. It's totally white. unlabeled put it in see what we got i think that actually so this is as this is loading i think this is where we leave off for today And that's how we close out the first day of gameplay.
