Weekly Word 65

Long time between recordings, but here we are in 2024. This episode I focus and reminisce on some bands that I used to like.

Weekly Word 64 - Merry everything?

Merry Everything, ladies and gentlemen. https://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/real-life/news-life/pacific-werribee-changes-merry-everything-sign-after-backlash/news-story/0c46e74abdbc3221e377a9dd9489fb3b

Weekly Word 62 - Hiroshima, the Peace Museum, and the current state of the world.

When I was in Japan for work, I visited the Peace Museum in Hiroshima. It’s purpose is to show the human cost of war. Wars are fought between governments and principalities. Who suffers the most, but the innocent civilians caught in the middle. Much like it is the Israeli and Palestinian civilians who are likely to suffer the greatest losses in the current conflict. By the way, all you Ukrainian flag flying social media folk better get the Israeli flag up in your bio’s, lest you be hypocritical…...

Weekly Word 61 - 9/11, Biden not attending the ceremony in New York, and chaplains in Queensland.

https://bridgetobrisbane.gofundraise.com.au/page/CaitlinWestaway Weekly Word from the car again. My mind can link things together that otherwise aren't related. On the anniversary of 9/11, I somehow went to school chaplains in Queensland. They have to fundraise most of their incomes, which means much of their attention and energy is spent keeping their jobs funded rather than working with students who so desperately need their input and guidance. Help my friend out, and you can donate by clickin...

Weekly Word 59 - response to Koraly Dimitriadis' opinion on sex for children.

In response to the 'outrage' regarding the newly-released Sex For Children book, Koraly Dimitriadis writes that simply because children have the ability to access countless hours of pornographic material, they should read this book. I repeat myself when I say I have no idea why these people want 10-year-olds to learn how to perform blowjobs. https://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/parenting/teens/why-are-you-so-upset-about-a-sex-book-when-your-kids-can-watch-porn/news-story/20c5922e4c12f77b20a85bc59b5...

Weekly Word 58 - Yumi Stynes, Dr Melissa Kang, and Big W want to teach sex to children.

Big W, popular department store in Australia, has decided that a book encouraging children to participate in sex, written by Yumi Stynes and Dr Melissa Kang, should be on their shelves. I will never understand why these people think that children ought to be taught explicit sexual content, tips, and techniques. Make the logical and coherent argument to me that children need to be shown and taught this. Link to the book in question: https://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/parenting/teens/yumi-stynes-an...

Weekly Word 57 - Pride: a Christian teacher fired, 12 year olds changing gender, and gay penguins.

One of the more strange weeks in Pride Month 2023. A teacher in New Zealand was deregistered for refusing to use the so-called 'preferred pronouns' of a student. Children as young as 12 are able to change their gender on their birth certificate without any treatment whatsoever. And apparently penguins are gay, and they're great role models for teaching children as young as 6 about sexuality. What a week. https://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/real-life/news-life/teacher-loses-job-over-trans-students-...

Weekly Word 56: Pride Month part 3. A Christian who compromises is not a Christian.

Pride month part 3. Jetstar can't make a plane depart or land on time, but in good news they have eliminated gender from their uniforms. A Christian doctor in the UK is sacked for refusing to play pronoun games in a simulated training exercise, and Christianity remains one of the only religions not protected by anti-discrimination laws. https://www.skynews.com.au/opinion/the-relentless-push-to-eliminate-male-and-female-as-gender-categories-continues-unabated/video/318c0a3f2a4fb3a45771896bbcf3caa...

Weekly Word 55 - Pride month part 2: to apologise, or not to apologise? That is the question...

Pride month part 2. Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Anthony Bass' apology to the 'Pride' community reminded me of Israel Folau and his staunch public adherence to his Christian faith. Bass apologised for his beliefs, and is now undergoing re-education. Sad, really. His apology is a sign of weakness, not of virtue. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/37761870/blue-jays-anthony-bass-apologizes-sharing-anti-lgbtqia+-post Follow me on GETTR, Minds, Gab, Locals, and Facebook. Weekly Word 53 - what is the role of government and should Christians automatically obey them?

This week, particularly considering the actions of Daniel Andrews and Labor in Victoria openly opposing women's rights, flying the trans flag over parliament house, and hosting drag queen story hours, I question what the role of government should be. Should we, as Christians, obey at all costs? https://www.news.com.au/finance/economy/australian-economy/nonsense-radio-host-blasts-daniel-andrews-over-three-budget-cons/news-story/66e2819dd30080081b83b81b53e1c24c Don't forget to subscribe. Weekly Word 52 - Drag queens calling for protection and adults stripping for children. Mad.

In what is becoming typical of Melbourne and Victoria under Daniel Andrews, a drag queen has called for more protection from authorities after cancelling hosting an event for children. And for some reason, Channel 4 in England thought adults stripping for children was a great idea for a television show. https://www.theage.com.au/national/victoria/the-worst-of-american-politics-premier-backs-drag-performers-after-cafe-threats-20230413-p5d03x.html https://www.news.com.au/entertainment/tv/reality-t...

Weekly Word 51 - Moira Deeming continued, plus tragedy in Nashville.

Moira Deeming has been given a 9-month suspension from the Victorian LNP and their spineless leader John Pesutto. I guess women's rights aren't worth fighting for in Victoria. And the events in Nashville were tragic. Prayers to all involved. https://www.news.com.au/world/north-america/three-kids-and-four-adults-including-gunwoman-dead-in-us-private-school-shooting/news-story/66ea66aa9a965cc641738c631f95587a https://www.skynews.com.au/australia-news/politics/moira-deeming-suspended-by-victorian-li...

Weekly Word 50 - Liberal National Party are weak

Welcome to my fiftieth video. Didn't think I'd ever get the courage to do one, let alone fifty. Women's rights event in Victoria, hijacked by a few Nazi's. Naturally, what does the media focus on? Yep, you guessed it. Not women's rights. And Victorian LNP leader John Pesutto needs to resign.

Weekly Word 49 - Response to The Project and Rueben Kaye.

Rueben Kaye makes a joke about Jesus on Channel Ten's The Project, and they issue a grovelling apology. The joke wasn't that bad, particularly since Kaye is gay and proud of it, and the apology was half-baked at best. Problem is, too many Christians for my liking started calling for The Project to be cut from Channel 10. If we ask for such actions, we are no better than BLM or rainbow activists who seek the suppression of dissenting viewpoints. https://www.skynews.com.au/australia-news/live-tele...

Weekly Word 47 - responding to trolls and opposing viewpoints

I don't mind if people troll my socials. Fine by me. But there's a way that we as Christians need to respond. Firstly, the time for defence is over. Be offensive and challenge opposing viewpoints. Secondly, don't get caught in illogical circular fallacies and incorrect use of language. @christianityoutloud on GETTR. Follow me on Minds, Gab, Facebook, and Locals. Weekly Word 46 - New York Islanders, Sonny Bill Williams, and Bethany Hamilton versus rainbows.

What do the New York Islanders, Sonny Bill Williams, and Bethany Hamilton have in common? Ask the rainbow brigade, and they all have an irrational fear of trans/LGBTQI+ people. Weekly Word 44 - Victoria and China.

Weekly Word 43 - marriage equality five years on...

November 15th, 2017, and Australia voted on the Marriage Equality bill. The result was in the affirmative. Five years on though, and we have seen increased encroachment on religion, religious freedoms, religious expression, religious institutions, and children are now the frontline of the so-called 'equity, inclusion, and diversity' battleground. Weekly Word 42 - response to a Covid amnesty as a Christian

Some have called for a Covid amnesty, seeking apologies from both sides. Yeah, I'm not buying it. Weekly Word 41 - government's response to Covid was wrong, and Jesus Christ proclaimed in Abu Dhabi.

Two reports have slammed the government's response to Covid and the measures they implemented. No surprise that Daniel Andrews and Annastacia Palaszczuk lack the humility to admit they may have been wrong. Bringing me to my continued disappointment that churches nation-wide closed when a Christian recently proclaimed the freedom found in Jesus to a predominantly Islamic audience. www.christianityoutloud.com.au Sources: https://www.news.com.au/finance/economy/damning-review-into-covid-response-re...

Weekly Word 40 - reaction to John Oliver and his madness.

John Oliver is British, trying to tell Americans how their country and states should run. Weekly Word 38 - 9/11 anniversary, and Queen Elizabeth passes away.

Different events, different countries, both to a degree affected Australia. The 21st anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and we remember all the innocent lives lost. The people who went to work that day and never returned home. That, and Queen Elizabeth II, the monarch who reigned over the British Empire for 70 years, died aged 96. Adam Bandt and The Greens couldn't even give it 24 hours.

Weekly Word 37 - from the car again this week. Williams v Court.

Serena Williams retired this week, one win short of Margaret Court’s record. As great as Williams was, Court achieved more in less time, so deserves to be called the G.O.A.T. of women’s tennis. Also, feel free to publicly criticise any media outlets who continue the anti-Court anti-Christian rhetoric.
