Episode description

What's the most dangerous occupation? According to slasher movies, it's being a teenage camp counselor. In this episode of Chick Flicks, Bridget and McKenzie discuss the final girl trope (a term coined by Carol J. Clover) and its use in the films Friday the 13th (1980) and The Final Girls (2015).

Friday the 13th was directed by Sean Cunningham and written by Vic Miller. It stars Betsey Palmer and a young baby Kevin Bacon. The Final Girls was directed by Todd Strauss-Schulson and written by M.A. Fortin and Joshua John Miller (hey, he seems familiar...). It features the talents of Alia Shawkat, Thomas Middleditch, and our favorite dancer, Angela Trimbur.

Chick Flicks is a feminist film review podcast hosted by McKenzie Chapman and Bridget Hovell. You can follow Chick Flicks on instagram and twitter @chickflickspod and email us at chickflickspodcast@gmail.com.
