Class dismissed. The Professor had his best lecture of the season in San Diego Monday night as he came within one out of a complete game shutout in the Cubs' 6-0 win over the Padres. Hendricks was masterful pitching 8.2 innings, striking out seven batters, walking one and allowing three hits in far and away his best start of the season. The performance helped the Cubs snap a five-game losing streak as the Cubs offense woke up, finally, and helped preserve a comfortable victory at Petco Park.
