Episode description

In this episode, we discuss self-abandonment and all the different ways it shows up. We share stories of our personal experiences with self-abandonment and what they’ve taught us. We talk about some of the implicit and explicit messages we receive in childhood, how an attempt to control our environment is often the consistent theme underneath most of our maladaptive behaviors, the extent to which a patriarchal society pushes us to feel unsafe being our authentic selves, and what you can expect from our upcoming virtual retreat. There’s still time to join us at our upcoming LIVE virtual retreat, “From Self Abandonment to Inner Belonging” on June 25-27, 2021. Visit vanessabennett.com/retreats for more information. If you love the conversations we’re bringing you as much as we do, please subscribe, rate and write a review so we can get the podcast out to even more people!
