07 A Tea Party with a Magical Twist

So last time I have the final notes written in my thing were the trio give the glasses to Respira.

She hands the trio a bag of gold. She returns to playing her instrument after telling the trio she can send them on more adventures. Flora looked unhappy. Meriwether looked tired and Fauna looked excited. So we left off in the tavern, I believe. That sounds about right. And we also plan to see if we can move the dragon to the goblins. And I need to stop at my parents' tonight to show off my decanter of endless tea. Is that what you have? I think it's a canteen of tea. My decanter of endless tea.

But it's always filled with tea so endless tea sure, I think we were in the middle of eating dinner though yeah and Meriwether was pretty beat up yeah I believe she had one hit point one hit point I think yeah because I gave her a good berry instead of actually just doing a spell, I believe good berries last about 24 hours I think so I think she was also just drinking something too not eating right, yes That sounds right You guys So you have to plan about a dragon And you have

Well I guess tomorrow We can go see I have to deliver eggs anyway So you can talk to certain eggs, And we can find out if They'd like a dragon amongst them I don't think you have to deliver eggs yet It was four eggs a week oh yeah been about a day or two a day I'm pretty sure I went this morning, It just feels like it's going to be... Tomorrow, you could definitely go to the general store.

No, I got something to show you. Ma, can I have a pitcher? Sure. She hand you a pitcher. And I start pouring and just fill up the pitcher. And then stop. Oh, you're going to overflow. That's a lot of tea. More than this canteen, right? Yeah, I'm not sure. You'd think this would be empty, right? Yeah.

Take a look. She looks inside. Still full, isn't it? Yeah. Isn't this cool? Why? Magic, I guess. Oh, is it safe to drink? I mean, I've drunk it. I don't know that that's the answer, but... You're not dead, so. And, you know, us gnomes are relatively magical creatures, so. Pretty resilient. I guess we can take a taste. She kind of double fists the pitcher and makes a sip. Perfect sweetness, right? Yeah. How do you sweeten it as it comes out? It's just always perfect.

Well, she takes another sip of the pitcher. I will pour some from the canteen into a cup and push it toward my dad. Okay. He takes the tea and takes a sip.

Pretty good it's pretty good you said you got some new tea in right yeah and he pulls out like a little box pretty fancy looking box opens it it's a bunch of little teas, breaks them off because these are more like like tea cakes yeah probably more like tea cakes and he offers you, rose and honey lavender and berry or chamomile. Out of character, how did you select those tea flavors? Just not my... Rose is my favorite tea. Mm-hmm. Obviously, Flora is going to pick the rose and honey. Okay.

He plops it into the cup and pours some hot water over it. I'll let it steep. Mm-hmm. I assume he'll tell me all about it because he's really into this. You don't have to go into the explanation, but we can just... Sure. Theater of the mind. Your father tells you about the adventures he's gone on to different shops in different towns and how he had made a visit to, is it his sister? No. His sister-in-law? Your aunt? Yes. I think it might be my mom's side.

And picked up some tea while he was in tiny bill i listen absolutely loving this tale of a tea adventure you know you can go on a tea adventure one day yourself i don't know who's gonna take care of the chickens while i'm gone well i'm sure you could pay someone like who maybe one of the town kids. Yeah. They're always looking for some pocket change.

And you know, chicken ads always go better when you say that they've had experience with children. Chicken ads? Like pet ads. The dog ads always say Good with children. Good with children. Experience with children and other pets. I'll just kind of, sure. I'm not planning on getting rid of any of my chickens, so I just... Okay. Okay. So I'll just sit and enjoy tea with my parents for a little bit and then I'll head home, do the night chores, check for a cupcake? Yeah, I think. Is it still there? Uh, this time it's there. I i sleeping yeah that sounds about right you're pretty beat up okay so next day you wake up, what are you doing we'll start with meriwether who wakes up refreshed and full of health, i think it's gonna be a nice day to just go for a nice ride peaceful ride through the woods, Okay, so you go for a nice ride. But I'm having a really hard time getting to sleep, because all I keep thinking about is the idea that there could be more adventures on the horizon. There's been so many adventures lately. I'm just so excited that we finally are doing some things, and I just want to go see more. But eventually, I'm able to drift off to sleep. Okay. And when you wake up, what do you do?

I'll go out and see what my parents are up to, go help with whatever chores they need again, before figuring, like we've been doing the past few days, that I should head over to Flora's house to meet up in the morning. Okay. So you're heading over to Flora's house. Flora, what are you doing in the meantime? This hadn't occurred to me before, but this morning I'm looking at this magic feather, and I'm like, I could really increase my egg production here. Yep.

So I'm going to tap each of the chickens once to produce more eggs so they're not too tired, you know. It's double tap, right? You tap twice to make them make eggs. Did I rank that down? I think it is twice. Because one tap just makes them big. Hang on, I have to find my feather. It doesn't say. I meant once, like I will make them produce extra one time. Mm-hmm.

Three taps i don't know no i thought three taps was eggs one to grow two to shrink three for eggs, or did i make that up you might have made that up i thought it was one to grow one to shrink because if they're already grown they'll just shrink and then two to eggs okay well i'll eggs I'll eggs it up. Okay, and you have 20 chickens. What would we say this creates? Probably like 3 eggs? I thought it was just one per tap.

Oh, maybe that's what 3 taps is. Magic, almost like a magic stone, where it creates 3 magical eggs. I do have magical egg something. Yeah, that's what 3 taps was. 3 magical eggs. I don't want people to get egged out. But you can use them for, like, baking and stuff, too.

I'm not much of a baker. Is there any kind of bake shop in town? Not yet. Not yet? Right. Take what you need, and I'll figure out the rest. Takes about, like, 25. So five extra. Yeah. She takes five extra eggs. Okay. That leaves me with 15. I'll be able to brush the hand pies with some extra ones today. I think I'm real crispy for tonight. Maybe you could make some dessert for tonight, too, with it. Maybe. We'll see. Again, not much of a baker.

Unbeknownst to the party, Meriwether is pulling a fauna. of shirking her duties yeah disappearing into the woods and so how goes that book earn meriwether how goes that book, we are thrilled by it but you know we also live on a horse ranch and should probably eventually go home and do stuff so a little bit of guilt starts setting in i think more of routine.

Okay so you head back home and what do you do like clean the stalls feed the horses, crush them ate them I actually don't know how many we have to be quite honest but I bet you we probably have people that help us do things probably, so that's what I do okay then we'll go back to the other two you'll ride up the general stallage I will walk straight in Laura Hello. Definitely a good place for all seasons if we're ever low on something and desperately in need.

Well like what would be the most helpful? Like a central fraction Right now I don't know if Mike you tend to feel this way too with languages I try to pick something that almost sits with the character that like it would make sense that I would know. Yeah or I would sometimes I pick like giant or something like that of like a race I hope to run into or find out, you know, see or like... I already know Giant, Elvish, and then obviously Common, so I was just looking for, like, another one.

So Becca knows Celestial, I think, and then Lena... I do, and I will know Sylvan as soon as I level up. Yeah, and Lena knows Sylvan, too. I do get another language with my background as well. Yeah, so probably not any of your races, necessarily.

Like just because unless you want to speak to each other in front of the other and not not have them know but otherwise like pick something that you know you would find interesting like you know dwarvish might be on stone carving if you ever run into like a dungeon that was carved by dwarves or also dwarves a town true true so if you deal with them a lot for the horses or there was a pretty high halfling population they were two that I was looking at as possibly,

there's also like goblins but they also tend to speak common there's like, deep speech is like I want to say stuff from the underdark I think they're the dark gnomes yeah the deep gnomes the sphere.

Infernal primordial if you want to talk to like elementals, I was thinking about undercoming too i don't know if it would make sense that maybe i might have picked that up just because i never know if i'm going to find a place to the underdark oh yeah that's what they that's what they speak in the underdark what is deep speech well i think it's specifically the one that i want to say oh i think that's what that's what oh aberrations yeah so like alien type of things.

Let's see what else are good. Primordial, Deep Speech, Celestial, Infernal. I think there's a different... I don't remember if Devils and Demons speak Infernal or if one speaks Infernal and the other speaks something else. I can't remember.

So like Behold, deep speech i think you said primordial right yeah i can roll with that one i guess and you have what are you uh you're gonna be a shadow sorcerer right so yeah i don't know something, i think aberrations would be what's no that's a monstrosity is uh i just looked at abyssal and infernal so i think it was infernal are devils that abyssal are demons or something or could be the opposite way so those are

the two languages for that and if you don't have draconic there's also draconic oh yeah i'm trying to think one that would go with the, oh my god. With the class, you know, what type of sorcery you thinking? She's a shadow. So that would be related to the, what was it? The shadow fell. So I don't know that there's a common language spoken in the shadow fell, other than maybe Sylvan or you could say it's under Sylvan.
