Link to Music Learn the hymn written by St. Simon Stock, the prior of the Carmelite order to whom Mary appeared and gave the brown scapular as a privilege to the Carmelite order. This was originally used as the sequence for the feast of St. Simon, then for the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel (July 16th).
