Nicolina is the owner of The Rig Boxing, an Ottawa boxing and fitness studio with two locations, the first of which opened during the pandemic. She is also co-owner of Studio Twitch, a new La Gree studio in Old Ottawa South which shares a space with Soul Speak Yoga.
Gabby is an ex-Ottawan who just recently relocated to Vancouver Island. She stopped by to discuss her thoughts on following a "safe" career path while fighting the urge to pursue her passions, though the conversation weaves through plenty of topics.
Rob sits down with Danni Elsie, a local film photographer who specializes in intimate portraiture. Together they discuss the recent episode "Nudity in Art and Photography," and respond to some of the follow-up questions that it raised on social media, in order to try to get a better sense of when it crosses the line - and how to define what that even means.
In this episode Rob discusses a recent call-out online of a photographer who specializes in nude work facing some backlash over inclusion of nudist families. He also mentions the photographer Sally Mann who had her own similar controversies, and Alain Laboile, whose work is inspiring yet may also rub some people the wrong way depending on where they sit on the spectrum of artistic freedom.
