Learn Spanish. Cook dinner every night. Lose 10 pounds. Get ready everyday. Travel around the world. Did you know 4/5 people break their new years resolutions? And a third of resolutions don’t even make it past the first month? I have been setting resolutions since I was a teenager. Last year I DITCHED resolutions. Because resolutions focus on the outcome, not the journey. In the past I’ve started the year with a list of habits to break and make all at once in every category of my life. Adding them all at once is near impossible and very overwhelming. Don’t get me wrong I am a HUGE believer in goal setting. I set new revenue goals every quarter. And I am working on all sorts of new habits, and adding to them each month. I look at my vision board filled with my goals multiple times a day. With resolutions our list for change is too long. And we are creating them at the beginning of the year because it’s what you do…not because we have a strong desire for change. Last year my intention was to HEAL which seems ironic now with 2020 being the dumpster fire year that it was. I set the intention to heal and then I worked towards it everyday. With my journal. Through therapy. Through coaching. Through hard conversations. It was hard work. But. We did it. My heart feels so much better going into a new year after feeling whole again. Instead of checklists and to do lists, doing doing doing, I’m going to work on being. 🤍🤍🤍
