Love is not an accident.
It is very intentional. It is not something that we fall into.
As such, love must be defined because it has many look alikes: lust, infatuation, etc. You must be discerning to see beneath the surface to recognise love.
🔸Husbands are required to love their wives like Christ did but how did Christ demonstrate His love towards the church?
1. He put our interest above His (Philippians 2:5). Put your spouse's interest over yours.
2. He washed His disciples' feet. Constantly try to outdo your spouse in service.
3. He loved even when we did not appreciate it. Love her whether she deserves it or not.
🔸 Wives are to submit to their own husbands (Ephesians 5:21-22) and not to all men (Galatians 3:28).
This is not subjugation but the surrendering of your will for the achievement of a common goal.
