Spiritual roots just like physical roots need light.
John 8:12- I am the light of the world and he who follows me shall not walk in darkness
The man in Christ does not stumble in darkness. He has an inner compass that guides him.
What does light mean?
1. Light means the word of God- i.e Jesus and his gospel Mathew 4:16
2. Light is the Counsel of God outlined in scriptures- 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (stop changing your convictions based on the situations)
3. Light is the truth and impact on our lives: the point of knowing the word is doing it.

> Why must we walk in the word?
1. God authored it - 2 Peter 1:21
2. Jesus approved the scriptures
3. Your security and safety is in the word-
Psalm 119:9
4. The word of God gives us wisdom for our finances.
5. The word of God is our assurance and future
N.B:
Don't hide away from the word of God.
Hide the word of God in your heart.
Ephesians 6 calls the word of God the sword of the spirit.
• The word of God is living: Hebrews 4:12
Your basic life principle should be, "If God said it, I believe it and that settles it!
