Oh, hi everybody. Look at this. It's a Tuesday in the middle of the day. This is how we're starting the episode. I'll so I can't hear you. I don't know. I don't know what's going on. Hold on. Should I just get really close to the mic? And I'm be my NPR voice into the mic. Please don't ever. Stop doing your head because I stared people think it's sexy. I don't know. I'm not your ghost. Is it really I hate to break it to you, but it's It's pretty sexy.
I'm not going for sexy, I'm going for like, like a This American Life. Why can't you Ira Glass though? Have you seen that guy in Tick? Tock who does that hourglass impersonation you? All right, you did. That was insane. Dude. Is like I was shook, like I like, is he? That's is, does ridiculous. He and Michael Barr borrow from the daily, the New York Times the daily, they have such a specific voice. Like I would love to be able to do that. I can't in pretty good.
The lady from cereal, I could do her pretty well for a while because she's all vocal fry and then an on-site, she's always like, said it, like really weird. It was really funny, everybody. Well, so this episode isn't
about anything specific. Katie, and I want to start doing Tuesday episodes more often because we had like a good little streak of doing Tuesday episodes, and it was really cool and really fun but then we sort of got off of that because we had one Go week and we had to start out so hard that we passed a certain being that was that was, that was a silly like choice that we made that day. That was, but it was fun. You know? I like, I think I like the idea
that like so Thursday content. Those are like pointed subject oriented ADHD. Podcasts, you got your interviews. We talk about studies and stuff but then Tuesday, hey, everybody, it's just us hanging out, or maybe it's D and D or maybe it's something. It's neither of those things, but we still wanted to make sure we were given you all. Content because the contact we're just trying to contact. We want you all to have content for your lives and your days. I don't know.
Maybe you're in a car right now in which case you know look at the road and stuff. Is that a deer? Now you're fine, don't worry about it. Maybe you're doing dishes for statistically. You might have just saved a life. That's true. That's true. Looks can for deer, just do a little quick little scan like immortan Joe from from from Mad. Max has a deep cut. I was just, I was like, I'm Morten what and we're done. From Mad Max 2 ever seen Mad Max Fury Road.
I saw that witness me Eric amazing, kiss me, being a prop maker on that set is like one of my dream jobs like making props for Mad Max movie again. Eric. Yes, I had to bring it here. What did you lose all the cars in that movie? Like those are real, like all of them, like if there was like a cool drive belt coming out of the hood and doing a cool spinny thing, that was actually the The car thing, I don't know anything about cars. That was actually the guard thing.
I think that's fucking amazing. I've been so cool are making like the the guitar flamethrower, thing. Whole yeah. There is that guy on Twitter. Like the guy who's all like the bungee cables with like the
guitar. I like follow that guy because that guy was like a meme for a while and the actual actor like had a Twitter account and I was like witnessed by that guy like he like retweeted one of my tweets about how he had the best job in that backs and it was I was like really excited about it. I was like, yeah, witness me. Where does me? That's one way I was a war. Boy, we're going that are the, the gray dudes with the bald gray, dudes. So we're boy for Halloween.
That was a fun Halloween. It was a strange time. Yeah. I was like, I remember my friends and I figured out that you could buy like spray on icing that was like silver. Cool bought out. Walmart of like spray on Silver. I say we're just constantly like Gosh, I did Chrome. That's awesome. I love. The were boys are like weirdly inspiring to me, like, I know they're like their moocs in a war, you know? But I love how the just joyous.
They are like, sure. It's all based on like, weird, lore and and, and like stories told to them by an abusive dictator. But like, I like that. They're just stoked all the time. They're like, oh, we're doing it. Were jumping off of a car on to. What the hell? Yeah, let's do it. Like fuck. Yeah. Like oh there's a tornado that's going to come around and suck up a bunch of my friends and throw more at likes. Let's do it. Sweet. You're just like stoked all the
time and I envy that energy. I want. I want that energy in my life. I want to be like, oh I do we're gonna go take out the trash. All right, witness me Emmett on, but you know, like cylindrical, but it started starving. Super, super hard. Like, it's really Thunder story right now. Is this going to be the podcast ends? When Katie's Power shuts off everybody to know that this is a Tuesday episode.
So I'm 100% editing a YouTube video at the same time is recording this podcast because I have ADHD. So I understand that you can probably hear my like clickety-clack typing, it's ASMR, it's free ASMR for this episode but is I'm not going to get it done unless I do it right now. So that's what I'm doing. Because Eric, sometimes multitasking is the only way that I could get stuff done and I feel guilty about that often. Hey, that's not being honest. No, no worries boobs.
That's a cool thing to do. I made a video about that today? Did you really I did? Yeah, try to like free promo your side and I haven't, I don't have to why? I don't watch your shit. Come on. Well, that's nice. I sometimes I don't watch your show because your tick-tocks are really good. So, like, I'm just like, oh, that's so good. Like, it makes me feel bad. Like, no, you don't need you out
here. Well, that, I mean, I don't mean to like, I'm not trying to talk shit about myself, but every time I see, Your very own like I'm know, it's going to be incredible. I'm glad it's incredibly you deserved, you deserve the recognition that you think you got for those incredible. Incredible bids way I was talking about something. A thought last night that like sometimes I need other things to be going on in order to focus on something. Yeah, sometimes they need to use
it for podcast or whatever. Yeah, exactly. That's valid. But sometimes I can't have any of that going on or else. I can't focus. Like reading for example. I cannot read and listen to music. I just can't do it. And I was thinking, I think the reason at least for me the reason why that is is, you know, an ADHD brain needs a certain amount of stimulus to focus. I mean anybody's brain needs a certain amount of stimulus to to perform optimally. I think it's called a peak arousal Theory.
Where everybody everybody is sort of exist somewhere on this curve of how much stimulus they need in order to perform their best and focus the best and get into a flow State. And like Start kicking ass people with ADHD are bars really hygienic? We need a lot of stimulus to get our brain to go. Okay, here we go. Let's go we're doing stuff. And so if a task is really boring, then I need the other things to bump up the level of stimulation, from from the thing.
I need the podcast going. Well, I do dishes or I need the death metal while I'm, you know, vacuuming or something like that. But if the task is interesting in itself and if I'm like, dialed into the task and it
itself is stimulating. Enough to like Raise Me Above That threshold of stimulus to get me to focus then music and podcasts and other stuff is just preventing the thing from getting there, you know, like if I'm reading and I have like ear plugs in and it's a choir room, then the book like envelops me. Yeah. I'm like the best feeling. Oh yeah. Dude, honestly.
Like when you're like braiding and then also I don't like and especially like I like today where it's like it's raining and it's like thunderstorm and like shitty and you're just like it's quiet. And then there's like, maybe there's like some chick Drones because I do like cello drones. Like that's what like helps me like, Focus. What fucking like tell and like a good ball. God, that's the sexiest shit. That's the sexiest goddamn feeling. Like she look like that and not
in like a sex way. It's just a sexy feel of just like, fucking hear em. I got my book and now I'm like, immersed in this world and like, yes, I am at the night. Circus or like whatever. Like it's just it's so fucking good. I love that. Oh yes that I miss that. You miss that Y. Where to go. I mean I just don't read for fun
as much. Because it's so hard for me to like, put, like, first off, I have this, like, this is like a really weird way to say this, but like, I stopped reading because I ultimately realized that I wasn't ever going to be able to read all the books. And so, like I gave up which is like a weird strategy to take like, rather than like, be like, oh well then I should read as much as I possibly can. I just got burned out trying to keep up because like, I could.
Yeah, I mean, you've seen how fast I read, like, I'll just like pounds so, it's expelled. Yeah, it's a fucking expensive habit. When you read his face, Idea. And so, yeah. And so I just got sad that I wasn't gonna be able to read every book. And so I just like stopped reading books. And then I had this moment where, like this is dumb like, why are you not reading books? Like what?
Stop it. Like, it's so I started like trying to like, get back in but like, I'm bad at fiction because there's just so much of it. Yeah, it's hard to know. I think I have that problem to me now that I read a whole bunch, I don't. But why mean books? And I read like the last books. Very often but I think for me it's like we're you know if it's a big deal for me to read like a book straight through, like I start on ebooks. Yeah but that's like a big deal for me.
So, like deciding which book it should be is a big deal like, oh God, should I read some like classic? That's going to make me seem really smart to people or should I read this? You know, it's weird. I was going through my books for moving like I was deciding which ones I was going to take. Yeah. And dude II didn't realize how bad it had gotten. Like easily half of the books I own had like, either a dog-eared
page or a bookmark. Oh Lily, you hundred pages and and then just back on the Shelf like all of them shit. Well do you still have them? So I mean the nicest thing though is like you're going to be you're going to be back by going to be by that lake. So like now you can do like read by the lake when you get here. Oh yeah it's gonna be good. Are you nervous about your move? Eric, Welcome to our Tuesday podcast. Katie Derek. Just talk to each other about stuff.
Let's get some and educational. I was like, oh maybe we're gonna do some educational stuff and then no no no knocking making this YouTube cover art of living men. Who knows? Maybe we'll come around to some individuals. Don't know. Oh, hey, it's outside fireworks. I've made a made a guest appearance. Why do you live in a place? Where there's just constant fire. I don't like, it's the 4th of July. Always at your place, it seriously. But yeah, I'm excited for tonight.
Have that's still I am a little nervous on the Move. Yeah, a little bit. Um, I'm nervous. I think I'm nervous for the moment. When like we do the move, we drive across the country, we do all the stuff, we look the Grand Canyon or whatever. And then we get there and we're like, oh look, we're here, it's the place. So we'll go up. We do p, do and then we the boxes into the thing and the bed set up and the stuff in the blue people.
And then it's like the first night and I I've got my bed and it's set up and I got the Wi-Fi password in am in the apartment and then like you leave to go home and then it and then with your error I'm not gonna like let you spend the first night by yourself. So setting, of course I'm going to bracelet with you. Come on. Well, thanks that'll be really nice. That's so mean what I'm nervous I'm nervous for the moment. Are you fucker? Here's your basement apartment to to nerd. Dork dweeb.
Kick me in the shin and run off. Like kick you in the dick and leave. Exactly. Welcome to Georgia dick, but I'm nervous for like the first moment where I'm really alone in the apartment, like when I'm really alone and it's just me and the click of the refrigerator and like the air conditioning turning on and off, and it's just like quiet and I'm just there now. I don't know why I'm nervous for that, but I'm nervous for that. I think it's because it'll be like, real.
Don't be like Mary, it'll be like a real moment. Yeah. And yeah. It's really real and it'll be just time to go to work, you know? Like that's the whole thing is like, the whole reason I'm doing well, I mean, honestly, Katie if we didn't have a podcast together and we weren't in business together, I still would probably move to Georgia to be
with you. I mean, if you would have me, I wouldn't just do it, you know, but you know, that one of the major reasons we love going there was so that we can really like dial in and start like really getting on a solid content schedule for infinite Quest on YouTube and elsewhere because it's such a goddamn nightmare doing it across the country. He really is what I'm also
really excited for that. Like I'm so stoked to not have the the most frustrating part about living out here for me, well, a lot of them but is when we are together our time is so like It's so scarce, there's a scarcity to it like you know you and I both have our regular stuff like we have to make a certain amount Tic Tacs a day and respond to all the bullshit. Well not the boat but the the Harrow a, the advertisement emails and whatever. Just all the all the bullshit we
have to keep up with. Yeah and then like in that then we have to figure out. Okay. Katie and Eric now like okay now we gotta try to film a YouTube video. Today we also have the podcast on Thursday and we have to squeeze into like this very limited time. X. Whereas once I'm there it's like if we have a day where we're like, oh dude, we just had a great idea for like a YouTube video. We can just spend the day doing
that. We don't have to like the like, oh, but we only have 36 hours before I leave. So we have to make sure we do the most important stuff only and we can't do the fun Side, Little Things. Yes, I'm really excited for that for us to just be like, dude, let's go to the fucking aquarium today and make a thing out of it. I'm really nervous. I'm really nervous, I'm really nervous.
You're going to get to Georgia and and our we're going to have unlimited time now, we're going to have unlimited opportunity to hang up and you are hang out, and then you are going to get sick of me. I don't think that's gonna happen, I know, but I'm, but that's what my rejection sensitive dysphoria. Says, my rejection says, it is phoria. Says that I've Bamboozled do into moving across the country against your will, which seems
really good. Like, I say, here, in bafflement of my own rejection sensitive dysphoria. Sometimes, because I can look at that, I go. Well, it's not like it'd be weird if I had figured out how to force you how to move across the country from From Georgia, will you say in California packing boxes?
But that's what my rejection hazardous for you says, does that I've bamboozles you and I've tricked you and you're gonna get here and you're gonna get bored of me and then you're gonna hate me and then you're going to resent me for checking you for moving across the country that I've been worried about that for months and I guess I'm just going to tell
everybody on our podcast. Well sweets, I'm sorry, I know that, I mean, you don't need me to tell you, if you break up with me, this will be a really funny episode to listen to me. Oh man. Wow, listening back with so but I mean like that's I mean I agree makes me think of the the say, the quote, the saying, the quote, your feelings are real, but they're not reality. So like your fear you're ever engine? That's valid. That's real. And I'm sorry you feel that way.
That sucks. The must be really hard but I'm not going to do that so that's cool. That's it. That's pretty neat. I might drown in a lake or something like that but accent but also don't want to live in the woods right now. I really don't you get don't use the whole there's a lake by this place. I keep forgetting about that. There's a backyard like it's like you look out the window and there's like dude. See that's the other thing is I
really worried. I feel that my rejection buzzer story says that I'm taking the city boy out of the city. Like live in this basement apartment in the woods you fuck. And then you're gonna like just perish in the woods and you're going to be sad because you miss like the like the where you live now. Like I love the woods. And I mean I the city life I've lived in city for ten almost 10
years now. Geez. You know it's got its coolness it does but like why I like I don't I don't you're so many like opportunities were like, oh it's cool, could I can go join a spin class or something like that? But like, but they all the whole thing is really just proximity. Like, there are groups and communities and stuff and what everything that like Oakland has is Add in the Atlanta area. It says you have to drive there, you know, he you don't get on BART.
The difference of like you can like walk down the street and you've got like you know, a little convenience store and like fuck it dispensary. I like all sorts of cool stuff. A like, we don't have that here. That's certainly a thing that we don't have, that's probably good. I way it's really sucks when I'm like them. You don't be really good right now, five Snickers bars and I can walk get up and I can leave this chair and be back in the Stare in 10 minutes with five Snickers bars.
So I'm pretty, I'm honestly pretty stoked to not to not do that. It's just too easy. That's do you frequently by five Snickers bars, Kirk? I rarely. It's like a once-a-year kind of thing. I'm not, I'm very rarely like really in the mood for a Snickers bar. But occasionally, I'm just like, oh, dude, I want to put one in a blender and inject it like, oh my god. Tier, don't do that. Just need want to clarify nobody ever do that, please. Never ever, ever freeze Snickers bars. No mr.
Farwell, like change your life. I love Frozen. Snickers bar. Sounds incredible. Yeah, they're really good. It's because like, the creamy stuff on the inside gets like, like, like kind of hard and she's a whole different kind of tree, the Frozen Snickers bar. I like foods that take like time to eat. I think once. Well, I do because because like, if I'm snacking, like the point for me, Isn't like amount
consumed its duration. Like if I'm watching a movie and I wanted to snacks for the movie, I don't particularly care how much snacks, but I want to have snacks the whole time. What the fuck? Are you talking? How does that not make sense? Okay, so yeah. So if you're sitting down, you're watching. You're watching the shank, you're watching The Shawshank Redemption. Okay, we're watching Shawshank Redemption. Watch The Shawshank and you know you get theater at the 1993 forever.
That's a Timeless classic Timeless to watch an AO. He really, dude, Morgan Freeman Cara read really or not what fucking it was a. It was a, it was indeed a friend's character really was banking on red. Remembering the name of that town at the end there. Before everybody fucking ads. Me it was 1994. I apologize. It's off by ear. Moves his old as I am. Jeez. So it's 1994. We're at the movies. I don't eat pork. We're at the Morgan. Freeman is about to Freeman's. Get busy living or get.
Busy dying. Amazing movie. I know that was Andy Dufresne who said that? Chess sets are being made, libraries built holes in walls being dug. Exactly. I throwing a baseball at a wall. No, that's different really. This is different. Escape. That. That's the Great Escape. That's one of my favorite. That's one of my favorite movies. I've really loved. Yeah. Is it a jailbreak? It is. It's a jailbreak.
It's, I think is actually based on a true story but it's about a group of American like, prisoners of war in World War Two. And like, it's this really weird movie where it's like a half like it's a jailbreak movie and it's like half very serious but then also like constantly sort of like that Mash humor towards like the Nazis all being like jackasses. Huh? But it's like it was one of my dad's favorite movies and I love. I love jailbreak movies.
And I love heist movies because of my dad. I fucking love a heist movie. Oh yeah, so it's like this really cool movie but like one of the major things in the movie is that they have to. So, not to uniforms, they have to figure out how to like recreate like Nazi uniforms like out of the stuff that they got. So they can like so close. So they can all like break out of the camp and they all have to come up with a covid. And there's like a guy.
Guy. And he's like, the forger and he starts like losing his eyesight and they're all like, oh no, the foragers and is gonna just drop like, it's his whole fucking thing and like, I just remember, being a kid and being like, Oh man, like I just thought it was the most exciting movie, because it's like, it had everything it had like crafting and like, and a heist, they like see is just, it's a great movie, man.
We should watch it. Sometime should definitely watch it. That's one of my crafting craftiness, I didn't realize until just this very moment, just this very one that that is an essential part. Of why? I like a lot of movies that I like, is that there's crafting involved like well, like the Shawshank Redemption. Yeah, he makes little things out of dirt and rocks, which I had Ida huge phase in boarding school of polishing and carving rocks. It was a horse. I did.
I'd I do is a whole thing of the collection was great, but I love that. Like the idea of being resourceful in crafting stuff. I always I always wondered what I would make if I was like in prison for the rest of my life because you'd have to gather your materials and figure out their properties. And I'm betting, I can make some pretty cool stuff, you know, you get toilet paper.
You make you make some you, you know, blend it up, use some sort of adhesive or something, to make a clay-like substance substance. Aw, dude, in Alcatraz, which we should do this when we when you come out here, sorry about like this, Sean Connery. What did Sean Connery? Make toilet paper sculptures at some point is like oh what's that Alcatraz movie with Sean Connery, where they like have to escape from Alcatraz? I don't know. Oh man, it's I think it's called like the righto.
I'll man. Hold on. I'm just gonna good. Sean Connery, Alcatraz movie. The world holds its breath. Yeah. It's called The Rock. Like, it's really. Yeah, it's like this thing is, like, it's big. It's got Nicolas Cage, and, and like, there's like a fucking, there's like a nuclear weapon or something like on in Alcatraz. And so they have to like, sneak into Alcatraz to, like, stop the nuclear. What is look at, fucking Sean Connery, Nicolas Cage and it's like a heist.
He escaped. I fucking love the rock, man. Dude, we should wait a while of high school is like I don't I don't know how like Conair fucking cot are. I love, Cod are never heard of Kane. Oh my God, caught. Oh God. Eric dude. I'm making a list actually happening. Okay, Connor is a movie also starring Nicolas Cage where he plays a guy who is has been in jail for like a while he did. I don't think he did it.
I think that's one of the things but so he's getting released and all the prisoners are on an airplane and then the airplane crashes, And so that all the prisoners like get away and then Nicolas Cage has to like decide if you like helps to like round up the bad guys were like whatever. I can't really remember the plot of the movie but it's funny.
But anyway, big component piece of the movie is that they like emergency lands the plane on the Vegas Strip and then like, Nicolas Cage, has a dirty teddy bear because like the whole movie is he just wants to go see his daughter. He just wants to meet his daughter to as the shitty teddy bear, and so he like has the end. Steve Buscemi is there. Buscemi is like one of the bad guys and it, like edit sets him off. As like, he's gonna like murder this kid.
And then, it turns out that like, he doesn't murder the kid. And you're like, slightly relieved that Steve Buscemi didn't murder a child and it's a fucking weird movie. But, yeah, it's called Connor. It's like one of my favorite movies when I was good, other are their hair dryers in. It are there and they're curling irons. No. But there is a scene where Nicolas Cage is like very like long hair and like the wind
blows. And so if you've ever seen that beam of like, blow on your phone and Nicolas Cage, like That's from Connor. Like, that's that. That's what that means is from, is it because there are cons trying to get some air now and then the air blows on Nicolas Cage's face. Yes, that's the Potawatomi. It's about a strong Breeze called con are strong Breeze. Coming this summer, a strong Priya. Well I'll tell you the strong Breeze. Alcatraz anyway. Sorry. Got released. There's a museum.
No I'm complying. I'm adding stuff to the list. Of movies, we gotta watch. There's a museum in Alcatraz of all, the little things that was confiscated from prisoners. So there's like a working gun with like a suppressor on it
that I made like over years. They must have been assembling parts like little scraps of pipes and stuff and eventually they made like a gun that fires like a 22 and it had a suppressor on it and stuff, but like the level of Ingenuity that these people had like, oh, I love stuff like that. So, Look my whole thing. Imagine I want to like I would watch that play. Like I want somebody to write a play about the guy who built a gun in Alcatraz.
Oh yeah. But then like I'll just like imagine like how frustrated you would be like you spend years and years and years and years and years, like slowly, spiraling ledge shavings off the pipes, to get what you need. And if somebody's like, sorry, I'm gonna tell you, I'm gonna need that. Sorry, that's not allowed. Like, I'll be so mad being so hot. That is brutally. Come on, man, I worked really hard on this. Put it in the museum at least devastating. Um, that's how I would charm the
guards out. I'd make them little Trinkets and baubles are your favorite. What's your favorite Heist movie? I got us. I know this is probably pretty basic, but it's got to be one of the oceans movies. You gotta be one of the oceans movies. That's just because it's what a like, what about genre like day. Just fuck it.
What a genre. I like the one with Lamarque I think it's I think it's the second one but where they have to like they're competing with the other guy who leaves the little calling card thing and he does like the park or like is really cool because like they did. I like I think what? Well I like that movie for a number of reasons why I think one of the reasons why I like it is the oceans, the Danny oceans team, you know, so if you're not otherwise be I think it's Oceans.
Twelve or thirteen, I don't know. It's one of the oceans movies. It's got that hot French Guiana, it was like, weird. Only hot. Like he doesn't. He's not like you wouldn't immediately think that he's hot. Like, he's not like conventionally whatever the hell but like he's just got stealing mail, man, it's just got something.
Anyways, there's Danny's team and then there's ham and they have to sit there, like first person to steal this thing wins, and the whole idea is that, you know, there's massive security systems and safes and shit, and Danny's team, they're all like art we have to deactivate all the lasers that are scanning the room so we can get through right?
And the other guys like or you can Just be insanely good at capoeira and just dodged all the lasers and just leave us say, fuck it, like leave the lasers on, I'll just dodge all of them so it's like two very different ways of solving the problem. I'm like, alright we can deactivate the lasers or it's sort of like an Occam's razor thing.
You know of like when you think of like a magician like all right, either there's telepathic or they developed this massive system of codes and fucking shit. And like there's no way they did all that work, it must be simpler. And so similarly, it's like, you know, there's no way anybody could be that good at Kappa. Cyrus, that's to dodge the lasers but the Lamarque I, he's like, no, I'm just that good, you know. Like I don't need to have a helicopter.
Pick me up. I'm just so good at climbing. I can just climb down the thing. I always thought that was so cool. He's like, fuck it. I'm just gonna be awesome. Thought that was cool. What's your, what's your? I mean, I know you just gave me three. What's your favorite Heist movie? Oh God. I don't know. Like, I really like the oceans
movies. Logan lucky is like a really underappreciated movie also because it has Daniel Craig in it. And in the credits it says introducing Daniel Craig like as a joke like it was like one of the first like comedic roles that he played. And so it was like the director was just like get it. And so it's like introducing dude. OK, click but whatever. He's funny man, he's super like fucking wives out. Is goddamn. Have you seen knives out yet? I have not seen that exact KTX
sake. Well, watch Knives Out. Here's the thing about Eric, I'm gonna call you out.
I'm gonna call you out knives, out as a movie that you have to actually watch all the way through because we started watching baby driver because baby driver is also my favorite heist movies and you got like board halfway through and you walked away and I don't care because you have ADHD and I respect you like Knives Out is like it's like clue like Knives Out is like I'm really grown up version of clue and so like yeah. Gotta fuckin watch the whole thing. You gotta do it.
You got it. You gotta buckle down my dude. I just wanna point out. The clue is an adult version of clue. I just, I'm sure who is he? Comedic version of clue Knives. Out is like the gritty reboot of clue. It seemed pretty funny based on the trailers. Only seems like colorful really funny. It's like, very, it's like clever funny to like it's not necessarily like funny ha ha
funny, but is very clever funny. I also I'm always very interested in ensemble cast things because it seems like I'm not a writer or of Ceramics cream maker. So, like just the craft of it, like having all the characters have like relatively, like similar weights and like having to make the whole thing work. It's fascinating to me. Yeah, to write a huge ensemble cast thing like that. It's really good. I loved. But I like, I just, I grew up on. I think I've talked about this before.
But like, I love Alfred Hitchcock movies. Like, guys, I grew up watching like the old Hitchcock films, like Mysteries and heists and like, jailbreaks and stuff, like, that's like a genre of movie that I just like, really, really love. Oh yeah, it all stems from The Great Escape watching The Great Escape, with my dad. Like that was like, that was like, I'm still chasing that all the time. My who was doing was, did Hitchcock direct The Haunting of Hill House?
Look like, I don't, I don't know. I'm gonna look. I know. It's, I mean, I may be rich and white, so I'm just like the original. Yeah. Because I wrote my dad loves old movies, loves Alfred Hitchcock. And I watched, I've watched a lot of those with my dad, too.
But we watch the original hunting on Hill House, you know, my dad's the kind of guy were like, I'll be watching something like modern he'll be like, oh if you like that, you have to watch this, which was like the precursor to all of this, you know, it's Bert. Why is drive to pontocho? But he was like, you gotta watch the Honda, and like, every horror movie ever has some elements of this movie, like,
you have to watch this movie. And that movie, dude, like There's a scene where they're like in so hunting until has to takes place of this massive, like manner, you know, picture like a big daunted Mansion kind of thing. And there's this scene where there's a woman and she's in bed and she's spooked like something. I want to tell you everything, that happens something happens and she like gets up and she looks around the room and it
goes to a POV shot. So it's shot from her perspective and it just slowly pans around the room and things come into frame and things go out of frame like a Bears, head mounted on the wall and shit like just slowly scans. And the whole time you're like, motherfucker, like what is about to happen and nothing happens. It just stands around the whole room and then Cuts back to her and you're like, oh, how did
nothing happened? And I'm so scared, like something about the way that it pans Injustice. Things, come into frame things, go out of frame, you just waiting for the thing that happens, and then knocks over some tin cans and a cat knocked over. I'm tin cans and goes. In and runs away. Donald Duck. Is they're going with that. I can't do. Donald Duck's voice. I was trying I had alighted like an hour the other day where I was just trying to do double exports.
I broke his curfew watch Game Changers. Yet, I have not watched Game Genie. You have to watch the first episode of Game Changers because I have a feeling that when we do the live show, Chris is going to heavily corporate game changers, Shenanigans into it. So, you need to watch Game Changers. So you can understand. But that was talked legally relevant because you're trying to make a cat noise. Sighs. Oh, gotcha Finch. Oh, by the way, the live show. What will live show?
What? What's that Katie are you gonna do like a live commercial break? I wasn't emotionally prepared for this. Oh no, it's fine. I am. So here's actually have to do is choose a said, we can do whatever we want. That's true. So here's think we and by we I mean uh school kids here at infinite cost, we're starting to put together our tour schedule for 2021 2022. We just announced a few dates, we're going to be appearing at Play. On con.
We're going to be a player in that DragonCon, we're going to be appearing at geek. Be confessed. If things go, well, we're going to maybe be appearing at Frolic on, I probably should have asked if you want to be at Frolic on before speaking for you, Eric, no, I love to go sulk. If they have us we will be at Frolic on. Well, I'm working on that one right now and so yeah, if you head on over to our website, it's infinite Quest podcast.com. There's a new shiny page called tour dates.
I think just click on that and you will see all our tour. Or dates. Yeah, but I didn't mean to shoot you doing the bad. My might my dream for Falcon. I want to show up with. It'll be you me and Sonny Megatron, Chris can, and we just were, just dressed in like the fanciest clothes and we just like the fancy guns like Heisman drink because he's totally next. Yeah, that's going to be. I think that's in Ocean's Eleven. I mean I've told you about that, right?
Eric about like, that's like my favorite genre of cake music? Yes, yeah, I have a whole as playlist because it's nothing. It is an ass playlist, that's for sure. It is, there's a whole ass playlist. I was like, the best thing is like, I want music. That sounds like maybe I'm robbing a casino in slow motion or like, walking out of a casino having successfully robbed it in slow motion, like that's like that's the vibe that has to come from the songs. Otherwise, they're not on the
list. Just isn't fair need to hear that playlist sweets very carefully. Aggregated playlist. Like it is, it is, I've spent a long time on that playlist. Oh, yeah. Oh, I'd love to hear it. Hi. When I was a little when I was a little kid, one of my favorite. You think you've heard that playlist? I don't want to, I don't want to make it like they're heard that playlist. Eric, I gotta attend confirm.
You have heard that place but I was in a headspace where like, I don't know that I know it. It's just in there now. She's married my head its WWE. Right at some point. Be like, well, gosh, I can't listen to Beethoven's Ninth anymore, so thanks for that. Oh, I mean, you can, it's just different now, it's just different. Now, I'm going to be different forever, I'm gonna be different now. I don't know why. I felt what's the, what's the thing?
Where you see it and you want to immediately, do the thing. Oh, a utilization page. I'm having that really hard Eric, I yeah, I definitely forgot to take my meds this morning and so I just I found died. S, or now I'm just like my toys together for that sound. Katie that sound? I like for one I can feel the plastic of those dinosaurs in my hands like I know exactly what those be like and that sound is so like this is childhood like the childhood that sounds like being a child to me.
It really does dude. I mean I can feel that plastic in my hands like I can feel the texture like infielder feel like to dig my finger nail into like into one of Um, you know, yeah, the weirdly sharp spikes, you know, strangely sharp. Like if I like cock this to the, I like it would not be it like this. Like a dollar from like the the one spot at Target. I'm like this shit is dangerous. Dangerous? Really spiky use B B's and brass knuckles. The brass dinosaur. Knuckles. Oh my God.
Ah, oh, Katie. Just that kitty. I don't, I don't know how I had just been thinking of this now, but you need Some brass knuckles and they need to say something cool on them. I don't know what they would say but I'm just for some reason. You like, looking all cool with brass knuckles, that's a like nuff said or whatever. Like that. Just make that just works. I need to see that. I want brass knuckles that get the knuckle tattoo that I'm going to get when I turn 40.
That's what I want. What's the knuckle tattoo? Your Indiana gets on my, on my right hand, it says, plan planorfolk2030 my on my Left hand. It says ahead. Aah ta because I didn't plan ahead because you didn't plan ahead. I didn't. And it's like, I know that it's
not the most original thing. I thought of it in high school, I've wanted it since high school and then I saw somebody on the internet, did it like because it's not the most original of ideas, but I desperately want it and I've wanted it for years and years and so I have like like that developing tattoo ink. And so every so often like I'll put it on my Chuckles and it just brings me the most fucking Joy ever.
And so I've decided that if by the time I turned 40, I am still doing whatever the fuck this is in. Whatever iteration it is. I'm going to get plan ahead on my Knuckles because fuck you. At that point I'm probably not getting a real job. You have a real job, you're your heart, half owner of a company Katie. I'm half owner of two companies or companies actually. Yeah, peepers. It's pretty cool, Katie, pretty cool. I don't know, I'm just mostly terrified all the time. Yeah, me too.
What are you terrified of do you know, It feels like. Hold on. I'm going to shut my door cause Chris is on the phone and he's very loud. It's a Tuesday episode knocked over my ukulele tainos quality podcaster. Um I don't know, I'm just terrified. This is all gonna like, go away and I'm terrified that for whatever reason and like, you know, whatever capacity you know before it was like The Tick-Tock ban or whatever. But I'm just I'm I'm terrified.
Like, I love doing this. I love doing this more than anything, like this is the best thing that I've ever done, and I think that I'm good at it too. Is this a and like I wrote a book and like it just keeps changing and it just keeps growing and I'm just like, I'm scared because it's like how do you go back? That's the thing that I don't know how to do. I don't know how to go back. Like, I don't know. You know it's all of this
disappeared tomorrow. Like I don't know how I go back to like Being an entertainment director in the same way that I was before. Like I feel like this has changed me like and like not to be like pretentious about it, but like absolutely for the better. But I don't know how I go back to like, Doing an or quote unquote, normal people job after this, because I've just I've wholesale fall in love with this, and I just didn't mean so much to me and the fear of having a dislike all go away.
It's just like constant, absolutely against it. I don't know. I'm in a weird head space. Anyway, I'm in a terrible mood today so I should just stop talking. No no it's all right. I feel very similar. I think with with this whatever this is Is, I mean, I don't want to speak to the entirety of the community Human Condition, but I think we're all searching for like the ways that we can give back the ways that we can contribute to the world. That only we can like, in a
uniquely you way. And for some people, they love to cook and they're like, I'm going to make the best fucking food. Like I'm gonna make my through the food that I want to make and they give their community that some people are like raising kids.
Like, I'm going to be like uniquely like the best father, like That's my resounded is being the best father and I I won't speak for you, but I feel that I found something like that where you know, all the things that I've been through in my life are now not only useful to me, but the seemingly useful to others. I mean, that's always been sort of my obsession as I've been shuffling from. You know, job to job restaurant to restaurant career.
To Career is like, I've been obsessed with just making it all useful somehow like this could not have been a waste of time. All the the trauma from getting screamed at publicly at work every day or or I don't know what it's like to be way the fuck out of your depths like without feeling. Like all of it, I was obsessed and still am obsessed with making it useful trying to figure out how to make it so that that wasn't a waste of time.
And so I've tried it. Extrapolate lessons from from all the weird little circumstances that I've been in over the years. And now we're in a position where we can we take our past in the things, we learned from it, and we can speak frankly about it and set and tell other people to things that we've learned, and they listen, which is crazy. And I mean not to say that we are where our or my advice is like, the best advice. Like, that's not the case at
all. I think everybody has has lessons that they can Teach from their past, it's just that you and I have gotten into this unique position where we get to do that, we get to share ourselves with other people and try to make their lives better. And that's like, just the greatest fucking honor of my life. And yeah, it's the idea of it going away is block and
terrifying. It is a very strange terrifying thing but I can promise you that I will do everything in my power to make sure that doesn't happen. That I can say, hooray. How you doing sweets? Oh, I don't know that just like got me all of sudden. I just have like a really bad day and so then like now I'm just like really sad because I'm just thinking about like how sad
I would be about as what away. Yeah, it's just like weird to think about this to Italy. We went, we went from like fucking Alcatraz to like oh we're sad about what that is. I don't know. But that's the that's the gig. That's the hero gig. What are we doing? What is this? Oh dude I don't know. I'm a this is an experimental episode. This is experimental time. You know it's experimental episode. We should just delete all of this and then just Put up the footage of me giving that speech
from the week. Oh yeah, very good. It's on my YouTube channel, though, which is cool. I feel really got it up and I got the thanks for body doubling with me while recording a nice nice. Do you feel what would you do? Like okay hypothetical scenario you wake up tomorrow and the internet wont no longer exists. Well what do you do? What would you say? Like if all this one away or like because if you didn't exist, then that's That's a larger exist.
I would like, I would like, I would have to come, I would have to come find you. I'd have to come save you. Yeah, without her, I'd have to, like I don't have your phone number memorized. You know, I should never, I don't have your photo, don't pretend you my phone number memorized don't, I don't know. Dude, be friggin read. I'm gonna just throw it away. I had to go back to cooking like
to be your very good. Well, I mean, as of yet you have, I know you've not prove to me that you're good at baking, Eric, I know. No, where were they to the time when we spent so long making friends and we've forgot I forgot the salt. I don't want say we forgot to tell you. In fact were like, isn't there's one result but you are you didn't want to. I was being polite. You were being polite. Your feelings? No. I what I need to do is do a test bake, just one bakeware I'm not
explaining shit. I'm not going to explain what I'm doing. I'm not going to film anything. I'm just gonna make bread in your kitchen like to Evan is a piece of garbage. Your oven was fine. It's called like a 250-degree spread from left to right? Like it doesn't make any fucking sense. Yeah, that's not ideal, but I mean, the, the cast, irons, the cast iron, like combo cooker, things can help us with that.
A lot doesn't neutralize it, but, and if you just, you know, turn them and keep up with it. But I got to make kitchen. I got to make bread in your kitchen just like, no explanation, no film, and just fucking do it. Because it's, we bread is one of those weird things were so much. Each of his instinctual and when you think about your instincts it can kind of like fuck them, you know.
So if I just if I don't think about how long it's been proofing, I just proved it until it's been proved enough. Then it usually turns out pretty well but if I think about it I'm like okay it's this temperature it's been this amount of time and then I kind of screwed myself because I like the math is you know helpful but it's not everything good you know what I can't stop thinking about her what?
How nice is going to be to just be able to be like hey you want to come over and bake some bread today? Dude it's right. Not have to feel like we're like wasting time. Oh my God, I'm so excited. Oh will you do me a favor as a big favor? It's not a big deal but it's an important favorite. Yeah. Can you when I move into his apartment, can you help me? Fill it up with good memories and niceness and Good Vibes. Yeah. Yeah. Thanks folks. That really mean a lot. Okay, what are you?
All right? Sweets down. Fired to worry about me, what I mean. I do, I just want I, when I was like a housewarming thing, like when I go, I want to associate that I want associatively well. Like so, for example, when you visited me out here, well, what many of the, many of all the many times you visit me out here, when you use, like, sit on my bed, like you go to my room, you sit on my bed, I like, take a little snapshots of that my
head. And so, now whenever I look at my bed, I try to like it, that's what I picture. It. Picture key, you sitting on my bed and it's really nice. And so, we're like, when we were walking around Berkeley Like, and we were walking past all, like the old remnants of my life like Apartments. I used to live in jobs. I used to have, and you were there. I like looked at you. And look to the thing and like, took a little screenshot, like
this is where it all LED. Like, all this stuff happened, some of it was good, so it was fucking awful. But all that led to me meeting this amazing fucking person and that's all that matters. Now, I like you too, sweetheart. Joanna, and the park and the episode. Take this, isn't it? I think it's an episode is totally an episode. Hey, everybody blast, the email about how good this episode is or just be honest to be like, what the fuck Randy are talking about.
We really want to know. This is a body double. This is, this is for, this is for people who are doing, this is what we should do. We should do, like, Tuesday, that's what we should call when she called. Body doubling. But now interests, I just did just be like this is that we're talking about. Nothing but come sit down. Hang out with us just for chores. Sure, that's a really. That's a good idea. Well yeah. Just like you just like, hang out body doubling episode.
Yeah, I think it's okay to be absolutely great idea. Although we also have the, we also, we have to post more D&D. I know I'm, I am straight-up procrastinating on finishing the most recent episode of greatest party story. You've been doing next Tuesday? If you're all right. With a Katie, this coming Tuesday. So not today but week from today. Yeah, we'll post the next episode of how do we good ADHD and Tom also are just so you know, it's your room in 16 days.
She purrs, I gotta, woo, I'm excited. Like, I don't know. Like I think you should start packing like, on Monday. Like next Monday, that'll give you like a nice week till Take it, take her easy, you don't have to rush it, you know, I'm thinking, I'm gonna all the extraneous stuff like everything that's on the walls and like the art and that stuff, I'm going to get all packed because I want to be able to like patch up the little holes and stuff.
Yeah. But I also I want like a solid like two days where the apartment is just fucking empty. And it just has like my mattress and my streaming setup and so I can clean everything. What? I already shifting of like I need Mattress and my streaming setup because that's what just like really funny like I know. Right who would have thunk at some point in my life? Those would be the things it's going to be weird. My whole set deck is going to change.
There's not going to be tools behind me anymore. Oh weird. When are like gotta figure out. I'm trying to figure out like, where would be good for you to stream? That apartment might have some like, clever background dagger, hang up a draper, something up and think about. I'm kind of excited to do too. Ooh set deck for for the stream that deck for the stream, bro. Yeah I'm also really excited to have a reason to say set deck in my life. The deck stands for set
decoration everybody. It does. Thank you very very much for me. I mean I'm really excited to just I forgot I was going to make a funny joke about game strats. That's the word. Stretch and stretch through surgery. Minecraft strats dream. Yeah dude I think we should do my traps from Minecraft streamers. It's nice. Minecraft strats. But extracts, failing at everything over. Don't worry, dude. Our castles looking pretty sweet sweetheart. Pretty good your chandelier to
or your telescope fantastic. It's really good. That's fucked up. I'm sorry that I keep going into creative mode. The belch it no really it's cheating. It's the game is meant to be enjoyed. I want you to do whatever you gotta do to enjoy the game. That's that's the top priority.
But I have an idea of a thing that I'm gonna do today and I just want you to remember when I build it that you said that combination of words because I thought of something that I really wanted to build, but it's very, very stupid. And I'm really, really excited because we have the room for it. But it does mean That I have to build something, extravagant at ridiculous. Well, Katie, you know, we just so, you know, you could figure out what materials you need to
build the picture out. And then we could go out of my requests Gathering the materials. Yeah. But I need like ten thousand of something like. I need to look too many of something 10,000. Yeah, like I wash need. Yeah, if it works out. The way that I would expect. You could also do it in our creative server. We have a creative service. Yeah. But then they don't get to like play Lady.
Don't get to lecture. Is this for The globe is but like I do we don't want to do anything at the creative service Fair. That's fair. We should remake the globe in our little house. If you could put on plays and stuff this is found like fucking I can build the Blackfriars you could do the end or heater. Oh yeah. Fella re-creation of Shakespeare's only endure. The only In a Shakespeare work done, that's yeah, he works definitely most definitely. We should be good Judi Dench to come up.
Come by happy. Like hey Judy it's up I was texting thing shakes. The only re-creation of Shakespeare's indoor theater because that's how they say that. They say that I forgot. I was like the only indoor theater. Shakespeare worked it like, that's not true. Well, Katie. Hey guess what person? Look, dear listener hike. Yes. What it's you. I hope your chores going well. Well, I hope you're almost done with the bathroom scrubbies, or the dishes Dewey's, or the or the or the grout clean.
He's got no, I've never done that. I've done. I have cleaned a lot of grout Enlighten the world but nevermind once I own grout it ceases to be claimed. Yeah. But I've cleaned a fair amount of grout Escape. You want to clean my grout? I wasn't even as I'm, you can come on my grout. Bearpaw baby. I clean. My God. Babe, bad guy. Come over and fuck and clean my grout cleaner. Got Bob, come back. Drop it. What are we doing? I don't know. But, but it is an hour and we
should episode 2:00. Well, I hope it does. It hasn't felt like 1:00 to you. Dear listener, as you clean your house or do the Bills or sing a song, or whatever it is that you're doing. While this is happening, I hope what What song do you feel if you imagine our listeners singing right now? What does that talk about? Like, I have confidence in sunshine. I have confidence in rain, so Maria Von Trapp if you're out there. Thanks for listening. Yep. All right everybody.
