That's weird. There's like music happening right now. That's that's not usually how the show goes. I don't, I don't understand. Well, luckily, I do. So, my microphone has a very long XLR cable that connects it to my computer, which sometimes acts like a big ol radio antenna, and it picks up radio signals. So, you might notice that throughout this episode, my voice sounds, a little like, it was recorded on like a Game Boy, or something like that.
That's because, after recording we noticed that my mic was picking up the radio the entire time, which I can kind of edit out. But also like, at its Out a lot of like vocal quality stuff. So anyways, if you notice that, my voice sounds different, that's why and I frankly just thought it was cool. So I decided to tell you that happens, it happens a surprising amount honestly, surprising amount. We have ferrite rods or ferrite. What are they called tubes? Or whatever.
That you like clip around the cord. So I just got to tack on a couple more of those to hopefully prevent the radio from going on.
Anyways, back to the show, Here Comes theme music by I feel like my little ritual before we start recording or once after we start recording before we actually start is very like, as the same energy of Bailey, like getting into bed at night when she like, does like 14 little laps just because she's gotta, you know, like I'm sitting the same way that I would have been sitting but I had to adjust it reminds to be sure of when I was in high school and everybody had their
like pre-show drama club ritual that they took like very fucking serious. SLI. That's what did they used to go? Like her like that. There's always like warm up. Yeah. There's like, you know, you do the vocal but then there's those like, they'll like it. Like the weird like you do like little dancer. You like touch the spot on the wall or whatever. It's like that. It reminds me of that. I think I'm in do it again.
Seems that space. Just want to let everybody know that thanks to our friends at Logitech, I'm using a new microphone. So if you're listening to podcast you like why does Kate sound different? It's because our friends a Logitech semi. From that and this feels really bored in distress. Smells exactly like the inside of a Best Buy. It does smell like handling markedly. Like I know that's not the point.
Thanks Logitech. But it does smell like a Best Buy and I just, it's so specific that it's like, fascinating to me. I realized, I always thought it was log attack. You know, like Robert Loggia and like a logic puzzle, you know, like the rapper Logic. Are you fucking with me so worried? I was like oh shit I couldn't think of other words that have a low and then a soft G logic. Lodge Lodge. Oh that's a DJ send us. Your email list of suggestions.
I'd ask it if their Quest podcast.com so everybody, welcome back. Finally kind of to any question any question? Back then the momentum back after several months of talking about, not a good few more. Can I just be like real artist? Yeah, one I have been changing. My antidepressants, it's going better. Question, mark. Question, mark question. It's a weird ellipses. You say ellipses? Wild sir. Do you have to say, ellipses for
each of the position one? Because that's a one of them is a period of ellipses in the lips. He's right. I do three ellipse. Ellipses ellipse that benign periods. Anyway, it's an ATM machine not doing what I would call amazing. Also Tick Tock is continues to just do that thing.
It does instead that it does and so things aren't great and I'm sort of in this like I'm pretentiously calling it a season of change because I'm just sort of like figuring out more of what I actually want to be doing what that actually looks like. Like and so I'm hoping to get back to more regular content soon, but basically I was not okay. I was very much not. Okay and now I am slightly more. Okay?
And so I'm hoping that the upswing is that I will be okay, but we're all in this together where we are Zac Efron, who see it as really good. What hair? That was as long as well. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. You know, I love you so much, sweetie.
I like how you always say. I'm sorry, like, you haven't been next to me every single Every single day that's the thing is like I feel like this is absolutely not surprised you know I'm here for you babe but what another thing I think one of the reasons that it's hard to do a podcast when you're not doing well not you specifically when one is not doing well is because we well I always talk about.
Yeah and I'm being genuine like we're not going to pretend anything like that's not what we do. And so for feeling like shit and shitty and we record then it's just going to be a podcast about feeling shit in. Shitty, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
But like, you know, we don't want to just we know you you all have your own lives and what not going on and you know you don't necessarily want to every time listen to a podcast about somebody else who's also who's like also has their lives who is doing chitti you know me too. I mean I've also been kind of going through it lately too. So when I figured boobs is what about what? If in this episode we acknowledge that we feel shitty, okay?
But then we genuinely fuck about instead, you want to fuck about, you know what I mean? Like, You know, when you really sad. So things just start being funny, you know, we're like that kind of thing so quick. Another, another name for shelf shelf. Wally holder boy board strip. Cool. Book Library, that's another name for pizzas. Go round each, he's boys Circle, pepperoni holders, nice. Sausage. So this is a fun game are
working. I made up where you just wait until someone is in the middle of something and then yell, hey, another word for and then just pick anything and it's very funny and it's very fun. Every time. Okay, another word for light bulb, go lightbulb, glowy Global the book glass glow, orb, or be beans. I'm like, yes, this is my answer. And then the second, I'm like, be funnier. And then, third one. I'm like, all you fucked it. I was just like the first one I got and then the second one in
like, I've established a trend. So I realize like my crutch, like, oh, I say the word, you know, I rely on the shape of the object too much. And then so I overthink certainly overthinking. Yeah. Eric, no other name for hat. Go head. Crown. Head sock. Cranial Dome. That's pretty good. That's pretty good, that's pretty good cranial. Do my like that bloom. I think that's actually just part of your head. Your cranium. Your well, isn't it? I think it's just called your
cranium. I know it's made up of what is a cranial Dome. The cranial Dome is trying to provide surgeons with reconstructive option for large cranial defects. I told you it was a thing. Oh, so it's on a Part of the body, but it's like a it's like, you know, you have like, you know, when you have reconstructive surgery on your skull, you know, like in like the war, they talked about how they had like metal in their skull. They put like the little, yeah,
I'm over the. So the brain wasn't in the air, your brain is in the air all the time. Well, side it is it really, and truly is the part of your your nose that smells stuff is called the olfactory receptor cell, okay? And it is made up of brain. It's like brain neurons. So like there's a part of your brain effectively at all times that's exposed to the outside air and it's the part of you that smells.
That's why smell memories are so vivid because it doesn't have to go through any other part of your central nervous system to get to your brain. It's just literally your brain itself smells stuff. Pretty cool olfactory receptor cell which is also white mucus has nuts. Good antibacterial properties because your brain is just exposed to the world all the time and your mucus is one of the ways that rents getting nasties and stuff.
Let's make a new role where we don't talk about mucus on the podcast, lots of fun more, but I just made a hit another word for that word. We're not going to say anymore. Go, it's not another. It was terrible. That is true. Yeah, that's a gross one glasses. Go see holes. No. See holes, you one, you win. That's, that's the end of the game. Okay, you win for all time. Another word for pants legs. Gloves to tubes world pass why? Because there's very few places
in the world. You can go Without pants. Well yes leg covering World pass for everything else. There's MasterCard That's good. You should thank you. You should call Samuel L Jackson. I was at Capital One, I feel like I shouldn't say the names of credit card companies on the podcast, unless they're paying us sponsored by credit card. As I was about to say, I would never take a credit card company sponsorship and I feel like the Always Sunny like title card pops up, and it goes like, Eric
takes a credit card. Don't need to pee like a lot. So much fucking money. I mean because this one is things, if they let's like I'm just let's say they go. Hey, Katie Derek. If you do one mid-roll ad for you know, Mastercard or something will give you a hundred million dollars a year, and then I would also be very transparent would be like, hey, infinite Quest, we have bills, we're going to take the sponsorship, use it, or don't?
Well, then you can because MasterCard if you want, but you don't have to as you could. could I mean, I even survived like you only need You know point one percent of that 100 million to like just live your life and then you could use the rest of it to do. Good stuff the Charities. So then it's like, haha, Master cards are in fact Quest Foundation what we call the infinite question nation.
In fact, I thought that sounds quest Quest, being of quest, name stuff, Foundation. I think this is kind of old news now, but the Oculus Quest is like, working on making their be like a Minecraft. Thing like in the actual thing like because right now to play Minecraft on VR you have to like do a bunch of shit. Yeah. So they're working on like a version of Minecraft that's meant to be kind of ER and it's for the Oculus Quest and so they're calling it Quest Craft. Which is what are ya?
Why? So I hear this Minecraft server which by the way if you'd like to join email us I need to Quest crafted now when you search Quest, Craft, all that stuff comes up, it used to be that like people's videos and stuff would come up and was correct. It's just all the know. It's all Mark Zuckerberg bullshit. God damn it grinds my gears, whatever. Shout out to questions, who cares? That's fine. Also there's a new biome being introduced in 1.2 ohm. You just told him.
I didn't know. Is it's cherry blossom. That's cool. It's pretty. I bet there's going to be like particles that float down like the petals. I hope so. That's gonna be. So nice, very excited about it. What to make for dinner tonight again? Oh, happy Valentine's Day. By the way.
Yeah, I already said that to you, but to you dear listener, if you were person who cares about Valentine's Day then, Happy Valentine's Day person who doesn't care about Happy Valentine's Day. Then fuck Valentine's Day. It's just a happy Tuesday. And so, the Hallmarks of thing that Hallmark uses to sell cards. Yeah, that's pretty much it and Chocolate, and chocolates and very, did you give me any chocolate final? I didn't get to it. That's okay.
I you've told me several times you told me many times that you don't want to like doing stuff for Valentine's Day. It's like, don't I still feel kind of bad until you're sure. But I also know that if I start doing that then there's like precedent and it's just going to go try every year. Exactly. And I don't want you to ever have to. Thank you. You know, I know you love me, you don't have to remind me, why? I mean it's amazing. Your might be out to a nice dinner.
Yeah, what's the name of the thing you're cooking tonight? Again? They don't. I remember watching. Oh, also, there's a new season of great Pottery Throwdown. Fuck you are. Is they got a tick tock account. They got to take, are you going? Oh my God, one step closer. You can see from the Pod. I know it's going to happen. So excited and Keith fucking love. The great potteries or down. We got it so good we ever do get pottery wheels know or we never
did go back to pottery class. We went once and then we forgot feel bad. I hope the teacher doesn't think it was because of that, they were, they were delightful. We just, you know, it was not a learning environment in which I could thrive. Yeah, I mean, I would have preferred a bit more structure. Yeah, you know, which is where he's like, fuck around and find out is cool. But I was like, no, no, no. I need like a syllable.
Like I need there to be like a, here's what you're learning on day one because Jesus Christ. We are coughing today, are coughing, guys. Yo, to be nice. If it was like, the teacher on the wheel and then like the students on the wheel and the teacher would be like you thing
that we look at this. What I'm doing, but buddy but bit about but that was sort of like you'd show up and you'd be like will you teach me how to whatever which is not a bad learning environment but it's not what I was looking for in that. Yeah, instance. Also the septic tank. I finally came today and he dug up a bunch of dirt in the backyard and it's just this beautiful red clay. And also, I don't know why I'm so bothered by this. But he told me this.
He's never found a body. Oh yeah, I feel like I stepped it. I feel like if you're digging out SEPTA ties all the time. At least once True Crime podcast, true credit report, true crampons know and we're
coming for you but I don't know. I feel like if you're burying a body then it would be wise of you to do it deliberately not where the septic tank is because that's the one spot that you know for sure is going to add some point yet dig up, you know, It's also like right outside the house, the septic tank that's got to be, that's a good one. I want I know this was, it definitely wasn't my original thought boat. Somebody said the best ways to very body is underneath a
coffin. So like if there's a grave dug for a burial, like the next day, like you go, that night was like, a whole there is some show or like, that was. I think I was, I was like the mo was it Dexter? I feel like, Dexter Dexter. Anyway, welcome back to our do True Crime. Can I try and solve crimes? Yeah, actually. Okay, so this is, I feel like his kind of ease in ease and, on in Things episode. Yeah, that's what we recall. Do we throw it in the garbage? Throw it in the garbage is podcast.
Oh, no. I don't think you're throwing garbage. Okay, what do you mean? Were you do you think we should throw in the garbage can to do dear listener? email us and tell us if you think we should throw this episode in the garbage TK because they couldn't because they're listening to it, than we
didn't. You know, sometimes I worry that we're not educational enough and that people are going to get mad at us. I mean, I don't that's fine because like, I mean, being educational is a good thing, you know, but like I think, We should let the podcast become what it is. You know what? You guys are saying that two years. And you know, and then like once it becomes what it is. Then we'll I guess start adding more spices and stuff like that.
Yeah, but I think the tonal core of it is, you know, is essential, that's fair. You know I'm saying? And plus, I mean, I think I want to make people's lives better and you can do that by educating people but you can also do that by giving them some bullshit to listen to. Yeah, well they're driving home from work and walk. I mean, I think we're all the time when I'm like consuming content of any kind, is it a lot of times? It will be like, I'll be enjoying it.
Whether it's a YouTube video or podcast, I'll be enjoying it. And I think, wow, if I made this, I would be like, wow, that sucks, because I'd be like, judging myself born and be like. This isn't what I but like here I am in losing the biogas and I'm fucking glad they posted it because otherwise I wouldn't have, you know. what to do right now, you know, so feel like you
judge yourself more because of your ADHD Yeah. yeah, I think so but I also Do the opposite of judging myself more because of my HD, you know? No, I don't know. Well, so, I think my brain is trying to extract Engagement from everything, okay? From the projects, I'm working on the things, I'm looking at whatever. And one way to engage with something is by hating on it another way to engage or something is by liking it? Yeah, I think about why it's cool.
So if I'm trying to squeeze as much as I can out of something then yes I'm going to judge it more but I'm also going to praise it more because I'm trying to squeeze all the thoughts. I possibly can get about of this thing. I mean I think I judge myself more than I praise myself but I don't think that's because of my age. PhD. And I think I judge myself a lot less now than I did five years ago because practice Speedy practice that's Fascinating.
Do you think you judge yourself more because you're ready, G. I think I just judge myself. Like, I don't know if it's because of my ADHD or not. But I'm I feel like I'm coming to realize how like Significantly, the pressure and expectations, I put on myself and like, maybe they aren't as reasonable as I originally like, as I've as I thought. Well, that's good. Maybe, I don't know.
I mean, I think that's good. I think expecting for yourself is like, I think a good thing to do, like I expect myself to be kind and stuff like that. Yeah.
But All the stuff aside from that of like being kind and being doing right by the people around you like those things, I think that's good to expect yourself but things like expecting a certain I don't know what the word is like a certain speed on a trajectory you know like I want to be president by 30 whatever it like all that stuff is fine but it's also your choice to do that, you know? Like you're doing that, not use it. But one does that to oneself and
you can do that. Deliberately or you can do that compulsively. And I think a lot of the people that I see really struggle with the expect, their expectations of themselves is because they're not aware of half of them, they're just know that they're there and they're know that they're not good enough, you know? So the in the, in the Alcoholics Anonymous program, they talk about how everybody's running a program. It's just, did you write it or was it just written by default
over the course of your life? You know, like your Then season your habits and your thoughts cycles and your cognitive dissonance has, like everybody has those things hopefully, as little cognitive dissonance possible, like everybody has habits and tendencies and stuff like that. But to those just emerge, or did you set them deliberately? Which I was, that was really interesting.
When you say program, do you mean like a computer, or do you mean like, I think like a computer like the program because I because I also know what's called the program. Yeah, it's got confused. I mean, I've heard it meant both ways, but another thing, I learned in therapy from one of my better therapists. She said, take what you can Li use in, fuck the rest. I always say leave the rest because it's, but she said, Fuck The Rest.
The like which I think about all the time if you're like in a workshop and it's like a largely bullshit. Well yeah, there's probably like two or three parts in an art bullshit. You shouldn't sacrifice those because the rest of it, I'll take those fuck the rest. Speaking of water Taco I would feel like I'm being of workshops. Yeah, you want to do? You want to tell people? We've had such a weird month. We have a strange Monty. Yeah, so I would respond my
train. We we are we are on a train and we were at a workshop that was not mostly bullshit was actually mostly very very good. I liked it very much a very good time. Do you want to tell people about it? No I just talked to a whole time yours. I mean I'll do it if you want me to but that's right. You can you can you talk? I just talked for an hour or two Australia, and I'm tired. It's true. It's my necklace be tired for from I know, I had to talk upside down.
Tacos is Australia's up, sit down. Am I the first person to make that joke? I think I'm happy. We know. So we went to the fuck. Are we doing? Um, there was this Workshop. It was called The Wheel of consent. The wheel consent is this fascinating. System called a model model. I don't know. It's a thing.
It's a thing that was designed as a woman named Betty Martin, and it's about discussing desire and wants and needs and how we articulate them and how they work, and how they don't work, and how sometimes they can until I drew it on the paper. Also, just for dear listener, you need to know Eric just took a picture of it and throw it. The floor in front of us. I was, it was a drawing of it. I'm flattered. You thought it was fiction, but it was, it was really, it was
really edifying. It was really cool. We met some very cool people. And yeah, it was, it was good. I got a lot out of it, but it was interesting because I hadn't done anything like that in like a minute, like just been in student brain, you know, like just kind of like, okay, we're here to learn here, to get out of my comfort zone and like, that was amazing. Like that was good. Yeah, I forgot how much I missed that. I know I was like, being in a place in like I'm going to know
a thing is that I don't know. Now, in five hours. But when I leave here tonight? Yeah. What do I have to school? I think. Yeah, I know that I shouldn't, but I really want to go back to school. I don't actually want to, I just want the structures. What do you think you shouldn't? Because you don't like someone who just wants a structure? I just I mean because I don't even put those words in your mouth. It's no secret.
I mean the real truth is like a lot like There are parts of school that I love and there's parts of school that I hate and I feel like the reward of learning is something that I could do like doing like the free courses on like Harvard or, you know, like whatever like it doesn't have to be, I don't have to get another degree to learn, but it doesn't feel like
official. I mean I don't I don't want to say that you shouldn't go back to school and I mean to imply that but I want to get my doctorate. That's pretty cool. Yeah, dr. Kate, I know it is what? Yeah, I don't know. I just keep thinking about that like, hey, you know, there was another famous doctor. I was born if I can Green Goblin, there was. That's pretty cool. Yeah, Norman Osborn yeah. Baby fly around on a little ice
core little segue. Yeah. Because I mean, I'm not saying I think you shoot but you know, I don't think you shouldn't go back to school. I think you should do whatever the fuck you want with your life. Problem is, is that if I did, whatever the fuck I want to do with my life right now, I would just go to bed for like three weeks and not do anything else about. That's right. I can't. Why shouldn't you do that? As I gotta take Bailey for walks. I gotta feed my dog. That's true.
But I could, I do, you know. I'd help with that. You have to do, you know? Okay. So like let's say you just took care of Bailey and lay in bed all the time. Okay. Why shouldn't you do that? Because I have stuff to do I've like interviews and stuff. Hmm. Yes I can't come by. I'm a diagnostic you do like I did today. That's a no. I mean, I do feel like the idea of like a mental health day where you just sort of lays around which is very necessary for a lot of people fucking do it.
Man. I have seen you do it. We've had great times lying around building forts. Yeah. But the real like I think the thing that I realized is that like I can't do nothing I have to do something and if it's like, oh, we're going to build a fort are, you know, whatever. But like I can't not do anything like that time. I remember when I went to the Each. It was like the worst. I went to California to be go to the beach ago. I was no. And you know what?
Yeah, when I went to California for that thing, it was terrible. I can't go just go to the beach because I was like, I don't have iy, what am I doing? Like, I did enjoy it harder and I was just like, okay, so he's like, I have to have like a task, no, you know, it was like ball. So like one of the things that I've realized is that doing stuff, If around the house makes me really happy. So like fixing stuff up. Really building like shelves or
whatever. Like that shit makes me so happy and then I'm sad because I'm like, I made my content about like, ADHD and I could have just been like, you know, there's a thousand DIY, YouTube channel there, whatever. But this is, like, maybe that's my content shift for 2020 threes. Like hey, I'm gonna fix up my house. Yeah, I think you should.
I I mean, I, you know, I don't, I'm not a huge fan of you because you talk about ADHD or because you're talking about sex in order version, I'm a huge fan of you because you're Katie. I mean, you trying to Katie. Yeah. I think people would want to see you do. Whatever I would I do. Thanks, you're very welcome. Also her datings also we are dating. We had to come up with a better name. The date was a stupid or data. Scan my boyfriend come.
Yes. Yeah, we're having a poly Valentine's Day today, probably Valentine's. I mean it's easy for me because I only have one partner but for you and Chris you guys have to He's gonna do, you know, I know throw magic cards out of should do is I should take some of the magic cards that he has then I should have wrap them and give them to him as a gift and see if he notices, I don't know why. I also wonder, like, I don't think you would.
I think I can get away with it for, like, five Christmases. Yeah, you probably could well more than current. Like, I wonder how much how often crisp? Like, how many magic cards would you say? Chris opens in like a month at least 1,000 using 1000. So easy really. Wow, how often do you think he comes across when he doesn't already have? I genuinely no idea. I feel like there's at least like a couple and you know what I mean? Like I think an in a given packet.
Think it's extremely unlikely that he opened he finds one? He doesn't already have? Yeah I mean I would say I think it's like a that's a good question for him. I genuinely don't know. Yeah, I don't know. Because I mean, there's like rare boys, you know? Because that's what you get all the packs is because you want to find like rare boy, right? Yeah. I don't know. We also have a laser cutter now so we could get the paper and just make, we can make much.
Each other encourage court, so it's a really good idea. That would be funny as see if we can get a fake that fools Chris. Yeah. That'd be a fun game. Yeah, I feel bad though, because like that's a letdown if we get him like that. It's a black lotus is like the super one because he would think it was real for at least a second. You know. I don't know. I think he'd be like bullshit.
Yeah, I think. Yeah. No. Yeah, no. I think he went to, it would be funny to just put like a boner and it like, every single famous Magic. The Gathering card. A boner. Yeah. This have like a black lotus, but there's a powder on it. It. What do you like draw Boehner? Yeah, you know, like okay. It's like draw a little powder on it. I think. That'd be really funny. I'm very mature. Oh yeah.
Did I love drone bonus? It's one of my favorite things to do. Eight equal sign D. Yeah, my my friend shout out to Sarah. Hi. Sarah. Sent me a picture, like, two days ago of a notebook that I made for her, for Christmas. I think what I like, I made a book and bound it and I gave it to her and I wrote a really nice note in it just you know, remember anything and then I
drew a dick on the bottom. So she's she said me, she's like I just only know I still have this and I was reading it and yeah there's a dick on it. It was really nice. That was like you know what. Cool. All right. That's cool. I like that myself is being myself, you know. I think it's important to be genuine and I'm pretty good at it, too. Being genuine and drawing dicks? Yeah. Well those things?
Pretty good. Yeah, I think I drew it in the snow one time at at Interlocking and boarding school, it would snow. And there's like this really big field and so I just like to watch. I mean, the like practice field was like right outside my dorm and so I definitely did that at least once in college is like, a thing is like, we'd all like be like racing out there to be like the first person to like put it on the field like really, you see how you just like look out the window.
Be all these kids like shuffling around like Coordinate to make, like a really big one. Like, like, okay, everybody go
over here, the 50-yard line. Like, the whole thing we come marching band, like yeah, it was like, it was I saying, I think, I probably told the story in the podcast before, but I know for certain that there is at least one drawing of a dick on Mars because I met one of the operators for the Curiosity Rover. And I was like, hey, so when you're driving it around like ever, like make a dick out of the tracks, and I was like, joking and goes, oh yeah. Like what? And he's like one you do it a
lot. Like it's really slow and we have to go very far. So like you do it a lot and then when you get to a place you just need to take samples from like five different locations. In a whatever, whatever radius was like, it doesn't matter, it will in a lot of cases. It doesn't matter where in that spot. Like, it could be any, you just have to go to a different spot. Always like, yeah, why wouldn't you just like, circle, circle line, circle, circle line, you know, and so there you go, it
breaks. My heart to know that since there's an atmosphere on Mars. It's probably been, like, blown away. But like, if it were on the moon, then it would be there forever. There's also a dick on the moon actually, is it really? Yeah. How do you know this? There was a like, it was like a plaque or something or maybe was like a one of the astronauts brought a picture or something like that but they wanted signatures from like notable
humans. Okay, one of them was Andy Warhol and so Andy Warhol found out a way to make his signature look as much like a dick as possible and then use that. Our, which is now in the moment.
