Episode description

First up in the new series, Tiff Stevenson talks to comedy writer and director Armando Iannucci - creator of The Thick of It, Veep, The Day Today, Alan Partridge, director of In The Loop, The Death of Stalin and The Personal History of David Copperfield.

Armando talks of how his Scottish/Italian heritage shaped him, his father's time writing for an anti-fascist newspaper and how his own politics guides his work, plus his influences ranging from passing round Billy Connolly tapes at school, to his love of Charles Dickens, to the discomfort felt towards Woody Allen's films.
