Entrepreneurship as UNusual:

I am Alexis Halkovic, PhD host of the Catching North Stars podcast. In this podcast, I aim to highlight the work of individuals who have identified their core values and developed careers/business rooted in those values. I have several goals: 1) to learn and share with others how deep purpose can be transformed into meaningful work, 2) to highlight the work of people engaged in inspiring work, 3) to take an Industrial/Organizational Psychology lens to focus on specific aspects of that work/journey, and 4) to engage in questions about the meaning of the work and its potential impact on society.

In the first episode of Catching North Stars, Aicila Lewis shares her journey from working in non-profits and being a mother and activist to creating her own consulting business. Now, she enables small business owners to more easily realize their dreams by taking care of business logistics. Entrepreneurs have a compelling vision, but are often not aware of how to leverage systems and practices that will help make their businesses successful. This is where Aicila comes in. She provides guidance and structure to get entrepreneurs off the ground. She also share how her values show up in her work.
