Today's topic, remembering Solid Gold Soul. Looking back at Solid Gold Soul, I came across some radio memories from w j M oa M Cleveland dating back to nineteen ninety five on YouTube. The show featured Solid Gold Soul with David Jackson, which was also broadcasted on w e ls f M in Kinston, North Carolina. I used to listen to Solid Gold Soul frequently and still recall the catchy jingle celebrating classic soul hits from the sixties and seventies.
They showcased incredible tracks like Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Honey Child, c hil E, Third Finger, Left Hand, which I mistakenly believe what's called wedding band. They also played Aretha Franklin's The House that Jack Built and Tina Charles I'll Go where Your Music takes Me. It puzzles me why radio stations that play such great hits eventually change formats.
They often transition to genres like gospel or country. I think a station like that could easily incorporate gospel on Sundays and country on Saturdays while still showcasing the beloved soul hits throughout the week. I really miss solid Gold Soul.
