All right, and good evening, my cartoon addicts, and welcome to the episode of the Cartoon Rewind Podcast. As you guys know, the Cartoon Rewind Podcast went to a Coutafes this weekend. Did you guys check it out? Yes. Wow. So it was actually pretty good. We got some traction off of it. We got a few, it's on TikTok, it's a lot of views, and so does also on Instagram. So it looks like people are enjoying us going to some of these conventions, which made me think about going to other ones.

So I was thinking, I want to see you get your feedback on that. So we already know that the Ninjas of another color will be joining, will be going to this convention. Where is it? The famous Comic-Con after, what is it, a 15 year absence? Gemini? Has it been 15? 2009, hold on, gotta do the math. 15, yeah, 15. So this year, Ninjas of another color will be doing a live broadcast, is that correct? If y'all are up that late? So that's a yes, okay, so it's great. I'm doing it.

Yeah, it's good to get a confirmation on that. But then Dwayne, Dwayne and Frank, what I was also thinking about is there's also new DragonCon coming up in 99 days. So what do you think about going and doing DragonCon? Where is Dropcore? It's in Atlanta. It's in Atlanta, yeah, in August. I might be volunteering on that one too, so I'm cool with it. Okay, okay. Dwayne can volunteer and Frank, you and me, we can walk around and mingle and do some live, and do some poses, some lives from that.

So that's one. I think this is one we'll be reporting from. The one that I'm going to be doing from, and Frank, you're welcome to come. Dwayne, you can come down. That would be the South Florida Supercon. Oh, it's been a while since we've been there. Yeah, well, now it's a lot bigger. Now it's in the Miami Beach Convention Center. When we first went, it was at some hotel. Yes. There it is, it's loading. It was at some hotel. Well, now it's a full convention center, so it's got a lot bigger.

So this will be another one we'll be covering for Cartoon Rewind. And the last one that I want to attend would be, if it scrolls down, oh, it's already there, except the cookies, New York Comic Con. Oh, that's the one that we've been talking about for a while. Yeah. Yeah. They've already announced some of the artists going in, and they're the guests of honor, as Josh Brolin, also known as Thanos. Of course. And the MCV. And Cable. And Cable. And Cable.

And the guy from the Goonies, I don't know his name. I forget the guys from the Goonies. Yes. He played the older brother. Yeah. Yes, I saw it the other day. I was like, oh, wait a minute, he really was on there. So I mean, obviously a lot of other people, but thinking about going there attending. So there's a lot more to come this year from Cartoon Rewind when it comes to conventions. So kind of branching out a little bit. So that also leads me to my next question, guys, for you guys.

What's your fondest, Frank? What's your fondest convention memory? Oh, my God, easily freaking Comic Con 2009. Yeah. How come? Well, one, D was looking at Pikachu's ass for two days. How I know he was going to say that. Come on, we could never forget that. And number two, it was because I, as this was our first time going to Comic Con, I really thought I was going to get all the exclusives. You know what I mean?

But I did not know how challenging it was to get the exclusives and seeing what you might call it, everyone from G4, I'm a tackler, the show on there, all the stars that we ran across. You know what I mean? Just all the cosplays and then of course, Starfire. No, it wasn't Starfire. The cosplay girl, the one in all purple. Oh. I still have her photo. Yeah, you took like seven pictures. Okay, first of all, I just took one, but it was the perfect picture.

And you were upset that her boyfriend was in every picture. Like every time you asked her for a picture. That was Megacon, what's more, the white Power Ranger guy kept freaking, no, no, she was dressed up as Zirana from the Dreadnocks and her freaking boyfriend kept always hanging out next to her. Like, dude, get the freak off of there, man. Let's go. I just want a picture of her, not you and the boyfriend. You know what I mean? Oh, the boyfriend. Yeah. But for me, it was O9, man. Comic Con. O9.

Yeah. And well, that year we did a few. We didn't just do... Yeah. We did Freaking Watchman Con, a Transformer Con. We did Megacon. Like we always did other cons, man. This is where I do a Star Trek thing and say Con. Con. I'll try to see if I can find that picture of that girl you were in love with. You fell in love with Joe Con, Megacon. Look at all the cons now. I don't think I have an album. Oh, there you go. Send here Comic Con. Was it? I'll see if I can see her.

For me, but I agree for you on that. I'll get back to you in a second. Dwayne, what was your most memorable convention and why? Let me see her. I'll show you. Sure. Right, man. Saw this guy on the phone. On the captain's chair. That's right. That's right. That's how I'm sitting right now for those of us, for those of you who are listening. I'm sitting in captain's Kirk's command chair. What else? Nope. You were a hotel bomb looking for the first day you were there. Pick a choose ass.

Pick a choose ass. We can wait. There is no picture. Yes, there is. I've never seen one. Yes, there is. Frank, do you remember a picture of pick a choose ass? I do. Believe it or not. I do. I never. That was a cosplay. I got my first Star Trek autograph on that convention. I got to go the other way because that's when we left. I have a picture of pick a choose ass somewhere. It's somewhere around there. Or is little Nimoy.

And this is his, here's the, didn't you want to take her home or something like that? No. No. Frank still wants to take people home. Of course he did. So what was it memorable? Really just seeing me in the captain's chair? I mean, I could have done that. Anything else coming? Come on. It's you in the captain's chair, bro. Pick a choose ass. I just told you. Pick a choose ass. That was it. Looking just staring at the wonder. You, Frank, no wonder you stayed.

He didn't want to swim or we went over there like, hey, we'll take turns and we'll stand. You go. He was like, nope, nope. I got this. I got this. I was there from the goddamn what? 18 hours. I was there four hours and eight before and what was it? The second day was another eight. Something like that. I had to, I had to. I definitely had to. I had to stick it out. You had to. Yeah. No, you, you needed that, that, um, that badge of honor, bro. I get it. I do. I get it.

Yeah. So I would say for me too, uh, Comic Con, the San Diego Comic Con is number one of my memory, uh, because of all the new stuff you got to see and, and the people and, and these people take the cosplay seriously. They did an amazing job. Yes. Yeah. If you go to, if we go to, uh, if you do a regular con, you, you see great costumes and they got a lot better. But at that time this was like the peak. This was the peak and they're running into all these famous actors and actresses.

Yeah. Um, but I agree with you, Frank. I thought based on our other conventions, you just, we're going to walk down the tables and see something, you just buy it. And for every exclusive, we had a fight. We did. Two-fin, two-fin nail to get, to get the, uh, 10 things. I mean, we bought like crazy, right? Yeah. Um, yeah, we had a, for those of you who are listeners, we actually had to ship boxes from a, from the convention center. We had a ship. Well, how many boxes?

Three each one of us had a box. I had actually two boxes. Two boxes. I actually had two boxes. Yes. Yeah. I had one and then my precious Star Trek that I flew with. Correct. And you make sure nobody touched that. No. Of course I heard people. Oh my God. Yes. All right. I would hurt people who touch my shit. That poor lady, the lady on the plane. That poor, yes. The flight attendant, she almost got hurt. You can't stick your hand into somebody shit like that. So, so yeah.

So, yeah, I went to, so this convention that I went to on, on Saturday, the weekend was pretty cool. I had been years, I can't remember. I think it was mega con 2012 was the last convention we went to. Yeah, it sounds about right. So I can't believe that it's been that long. So it was a positive experience. Obviously, it was more anime, which is not our strong suit. But you know, it was still good. I took our mascot, which is Suicide Mouse. You guys saw him on your post? I did. I did.

And I also saw this on your post too. You remember this? No, I didn't post that at all. You know, I could put pictures of you guys up too. Yeah, I know. Okay. But again, you're there with your start, with your Starfleet, man. Your Starfleet girls. Yeah. Just like, you know, watch, just like I like Star Trek, right? Oh, what do you start? You're a fan of JoJo. That's it. There you go. That was Megacon. That was Megacon. She was so pale. That was Megacon, yes. She was so pale. She was so pale.

She was very pale. And I, oh, there's the best picture. Best picture ever. Best picture ever. Both of them. And at Comic-Con, we sat in the back. Remember this one? That's when I realized that that was pain. And by the time that I realized it, I was like, oh, shit, can I leave now? Can I go? You were so uncomfortable. Yes, I was. I was very uncomfortable. And she smelled too, man. Like sweaty. You know what I mean? And at Comic-Con, we sat in for the first time.

Oh. Yeah, I told you she was pale. Too pale. Yeah, yeah, you is. We sat in on a Motu Classic the year before it came up. We sat on that panel. On the Comic-Con. Yeah, we did. We did. So what is, so what is you think you guys is, is your fair part of going to convention? Is it the cosplay, the panels, buying exclusives or, you know, meeting people? For me, it's the cosplay and then buying. You mentioned, you should talk about, you mentioned Jim Lee and fanboyed out. Oh my God. I did meet Jim Lee.

Yes, I did. No, you did it. Frank Forest. That's true. Frank Forest did. Not Frank Clarks, yes. But still. So for our listeners, hopefully you know who Jim Lee is. He's a, he's drawn lots of comic books. Right now he's a CEO of Marvel. DC Comics. DC Comics. Thank you. Why did I pick Marvel? Because you like Marvel. Yeah. But you know, he's very known for drawing Batman. So he's always been a favorite of Frank, the tank.

So Frank was able to actually add Comic Con, go up to the podium and ask him a question. And his first thing, his first thing to come out of his mouth was his name incorrect. Okay, first off, that's not what happened. That's not what happened. That's not what happened. That's not what happened. What actually happened, everyone, because Rolando was just saying it completely wrong. Okay. All right.

So I did speak in front of everyone that was asking about a particular toy when it was coming out, but Jim Lee wasn't involved. Right. Then later on, Jim Lee comes out and he's doing autographs and I go up to him and I ask him for his autograph, which I have. And I took a picture with and he asked me, and to whom do you want me to make this out to? And I said, Frank Forest. With the broken, with the broken voice and everything. I did.

And I said, no, no. And I mean, no, no, no. Just Frank, just make it to Frank. And of course he did. And I have it hanging on my wall. Of course. You know? Yeah. It was good times. Yes, it was. Yes, it was. Good times. Yeah. I would say for me, meeting people, even though I don't talk to people though, but seeing them. It is what it is.

That's why at the convention, Frank, I was like wishing you were there because you would have no problem talking to people like, excuse me, let me take your picture. Let me do this. So how, how, how easily? So how did you, how did people receive you at the con? Did you say you're part of cartoon rewind or you just taking pictures? No, just taking pictures. I went as a guest. I went as a guest. Unfortunately, we're not that well-known.

So, but, but yeah, like I said, I went with our new mascot, Suicide Mouse. And if you, and for listeners, if you don't know what that is, check our Instagram or TikTok page at the Cartoon Rewind podcast and take a look at our mascot. Yes. So, yeah. So, so I went with him. He gave us a tour. So took a tour. I might start taking him to all the conventions now. There you go. People start, people start recognizing him and they'll know who we are. So, so I thought that was pretty cool.

So Dwayne, what's your favorite thing to do at a convention? Well, let's see. The conventions we went to lately is just buying exclusive stuff. Yeah. Because when we went, we went to Joe Khan, we were supposed to get something exclusive, but it wasn't there. I think it was a dual story, so we didn't get it. Yeah. Yeah. Frank did get a bunch of pieces, pieces, which I also bought, don't ask me why, but a bunch of bunch of accessory packs, lose the sex, which I still have.

I don't know why I was there. I'm like, you know what, I'm going to collect two. Yeah. That's what I was doing when I was really heavily into customs. Yeah. So. And I'm like, okay, well, if Frank could do it, I could do it. Guess what guys? I can't do it. I can't do it. I can't do it. I can't do it. But you know what? Speaking of Joe Khan, I know Rolly, you would remember this. You ready? Yeah. She was my dream woman. That's it. You know it, buddy. Bam. There she is.

Any woman with the tattoo of the enterprise registry on her? She's a keeper. She is, buddy. That's all you right there, my friend. Yeah. So. All right. So I appreciate you guys sharing your thoughts on this. So thank you very much. And for our listeners, there's more to come. Hopefully you join us in a little adventure when we start reporting live from these conventions.

Either at the Cartoon Rewind Podcasts, social media sites, our website that's opening up soon, and of course, Ninjas of Another Color. So thank you.
