This Promise is Profound

James 1:5–8 says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”
God takes our belief in His willingness to give us wisdom very seriously. He makes it clear that if we ask for wisdom but doubt His desire to provide it, we will not receive it.
This promise is profound. It reminds us that failing to ask for wisdom is actually a mark of foolishness. So today, let’s confidently ask God for the wisdom we need, and trust in His generous promise to provide it.
