A Blessed Nation

Psalm 33:11-12 – “The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance.”
We ask ourselves today: What does it mean to be blessed in this context?
God blesses a people who desire righteousness—who long to see right living as He does. A blessed nation is one that is willing to humble itself, putting God’s will above its own desires. A blessed nation seeks God’s guidance in all things, so that it may be fruitful.
May our prayer be:
“Lord, help us to escape what we want and embrace what You want for us.”
God’s ways are higher than ours, and we will be blessed when we make Him the head and pursue His will for our lives.
