Carolina Otaku Podcast

Speaker 1

Uh , thank you and welcome back to another episode of the Carolina Otaku podcast . I am Afro and I'm here with my co-host .

Speaker 2

Lexi .

Speaker 1

Um , yeah , it's been a , it's been a minute . Uh , I guess you can say a little higher , it's not really much of a long one . But , um , you know somebody you know had some plans , a birthday that happened one year older and , um , you know how we usually start this out .

This , this episode is , uh , this episode is going to be , it's going to be interesting . So , um , I hope you guys enjoy . It's going to be just a whole bunch of topics and kind of just getting caught up on stuff . But , um , yeah , you know how we usually start this off with . You know how everything going , what we've been up to . So , uh , we'll start .

Well , I'll , I'll go first this time , because the birthday girl probably has , you know , a lot more to say about her , her , uh , traveling . Okay , um , recently , not really much of anything started the new job at the gun range , really easy .

Speaker 2

How was it it ?

Speaker 1

was easy . It's just , it's a , it's a free range , so it's owned by the county and most of the people that go there usually are pretty chill . You know cause they're not ? Cause they're , they're not coming out of pocket to use the range . So it's not so much of a , it's not .

You're not investing anything into it , you just have to be there at a certain time so you can , you know , get there to shoot before close . You know . So it's nice , it's uh , the people that , uh , you know two , two different lanes , one for rifle , one for pistol and shotguns and , um , it's cool , the people are there , Cool , good convo .

The people that I've met so far , you know just people that shoot , they have questions about guns or they , you know , tell you what you shoot and everything . And it's not bad , it was pretty good . It was just uh , just uh past Sunday , but it was pretty good for first day . I'm not even gonna hold you , um , congrats , congrats .

Yeah , and other than that , just working , working business stuff . Um , I kind of want to give a big shout out to my , like , my stepmother for kind of helping me with the business stuff too .

She's kind of giving me uh , um , yeah , she's she , you know , her networking and stuff for people that she knows is kind of like she's asking them questions about what stuff I should look into and stuff that I should do , and it's kind of helping me kind of move a little bit forward .

Um , and also my county , the county that I live in , they have free classes and webinars and stuff like that Talking about how to start a business , what to do . A lot of free resources are out there which I , I , I kind of you were surprised yeah . But I didn't actually take uh advantage on them .

So definitely , um , definitely a lot of good resources out there , for sure , for uh starting a business , Um , but other than that , uh not much of uh anything working a regular job and , you know , just looking forward to uh tacking comes out what next week it actually might be uh three days .

Speaker 2

Yeah , it might be Friday , so actually , this one what you're going to be doing .

Speaker 1

Yeah , Um , so you know nothing , nothing too crazy , but you guys don't want to hit this shit . Y'all want to hear about the birthday girl on her travels , so let's start . Um , so I'll just ask the question . Uh , Lexie , what have you been up to ?

Speaker 2

Okay , obviously it's my birthday . So , um , when it's my birthday , I usually go out of town , so that's like my vacation time , and if I sound like nasally or sick it is because I am sick . Uh , let's roll this back . So that week of my birthday I had a work trip and a , and my birthday trip .

Back to that , um , I got sick the day before I was supposed to go for my business trip and it started out as like a little small minor , like scratching the throat and like it . It's just been horrible . I am like on the tail of it now , but literally like work trip , birthday trip I was .

I was sick , um , so that's when I hinder into the story because , like , I didn't get to really do a lot , but I still have fun , um , so , anyways , um , my birthday , um , I decided I wanted to go to Hawaii , cause I never been , and I was like , fuck it , why not ? So I had the money . I was like , all right , let's go .

So , um , I flew out of Atlanta . Um , yeah , that was one . That was one flight we're from Atlanta to LAX and then from LAX to Honolulu , and like I think I was like in the air for 10 hours and I didn't know like cause I was congested .

I was congested so bad that like you go up and down an altitude and like my ears were not popped until the next day because of it . So it was a little .

It was a little bit annoying , cause like I can hear out of one side and I couldn't hear the other , and like I was in LAX and I had a fun , um , my , I have like a black and black and gray pairs like Jordans and they have like felt like around them and like the guy in the place where I was getting my like sandwich was trying to talk to me about my

shoes and he was on the side that I could not hear and I'm just like smiling like uh-huh , because like I can't hear him because of my ear . So , anyways , yeah , so , um , did that or whatever .

Got to got to my hotel uh , shout out to American Express , got to upgrade because they used my American Express , um , and then pretty much like like just jet lag , crash and slapped . And on my birthday , um , I was on the like the bougie part of Honolulu .

So there was like a strip of luxury stores like less than a mile from our place and like I just walked down that luxury shop , uh , went into like one of my favorite stores and got some perfume and a bag and , um , then I had a dinner cruise , went on that it was amazing , the views was like amazing .

It was just cold and I didn't bring a jacket so I was like cold , hold on , sorry , sorry , no .

Speaker 1

I didn't bring it .

Speaker 2

No , because it's 70 degrees . It was like 70 degrees there .

Speaker 1

Yeah , but it's water .

Speaker 2

And I get it now , like I get it and me being on a ship before like I shouldn't , but like it just like slipped my mind . So I didn't have a jacket . So like , other than that was really good , food was good , um , everything else was good . And then , um , pretty much after that , like I started getting sicker so I was like sleeping more .

So like I didn't do too much . Um , I went to Don Quixotas one day . Um , you know what's the beach , you know walking around , did a whole bunch of stuff , but I didn't go do like the one of the tours of the island . I didn't get to do that or go to like a luau , um , but like , so I will be going back , but that's pretty much my vacation .

And then flying back , I had a straight shot . So I decided I was going to get a Delta one . And if you ever get to , if you ever had the money to do Delta one and you have a really long trip , do it . It is worth the money . Uh , cause it's like the Delta one are kind of like little small sweets and you can like lay back and sleep , yeah .

Speaker 1

Yeah . It's really comfy .

Speaker 2

You're like a blanket and it like feeds you , like good food , not like the shit that give you back it Like you know , comfort or comfort , or a comfort plus a main . No , it's actually food , food , Um the whole entire menu is really fancy . It's really nice .

Speaker 1

Yeah , that's nice . I did that for Italy and I sat and just watched a Godfather the whole time .

Speaker 2

Yeah , I watched it all , fizzed the whole time .

Speaker 1

And it was . It was fucking great . I was like yo , I . I don't think I can go back to sunnies behind you . Yeah , no , I don't think I can go back to the um , to the , to the right .

Speaker 2

No .

Speaker 1

I was like I can't do that Cause it is amazing .

Speaker 2

It is , it's fucking amazing .

Speaker 1

Yeah , yeah , that shit . Oh man , if you like , she said , if you got the money , like it's just like a once you know couple , you do it .

You know , once in a blue moon I say especially if you're going out of the country , like if you're going out of the country and you had flight is like I don't know 12 , I mean like 14 hours or something like that , Do it Like yeah . You'll be more comfortable . My back was eight and I'm like yeah , you'll be more relaxed and all that shit .

For sure , for sure . That's awesome that you had a good time and all that shit . That's what's up that um , did you get any good ? What were how many the date ? Here's my thing when it comes to birth . I don't celebrate my birthday like that it's . It's just never been something that's really important After 21, .

I kind of just stopped and Well , that's kind of like .

Speaker 2

When I started , I used to like not really do anything Like as a kid . On my birthday , like my mom and my dad would get together and then they were taking me to Chucky Jesus and I did that like all the way up to like seventh grade and then after that , kind of never celebrated my birthday until , like I hit my my 20s .

I think it was like a good friend of mine . She was like all right , we're going off your birthday and she took me to my first like gay club for my birthday and then like everything . Then I've always done something for my birthday , so that's what's up .

Speaker 1

That's what's up , what I'm sure it was going to be . So with the how was just the the flights in general , any delays or anything ?

Speaker 2

Yeah , there wasn't , like there wasn't any like major delays . Um , the first flight was I . I paid for Comfort Plus to go from Atlanta to LAX and I was going to pay for Comfort Plus and LAX so , um , honolulu , but they didn't have any , they were all sold out .

So I was stuck in bed but , like , even in Comfort Plus , it was tight , yeah , very uncomfortable , uh , yeah , yeah . Yeah , second flight wasn't that bad and , like I said , I was in Delta once I really have any problems there . Just , you know , kicking back , watching the office and chilling and waiting for food . That's , that's all I did .

Speaker 1

Okay , that's cool , awesome , awesome , awesome . Um , well , when I'll ? I'll just kind of just go into this and I'll let you kind of explain this a little bit better .

In-Game Achievements Impact Real Life

Before Lexi went on her rendezvous , she sent me a message about a certain topic . That was actually really interesting because I never would have thought about that Shit . And when she told me I was like , yeah , it's pretty good , I like this .

So I'm kind of going to let Lexi tell about , talk about this , how she came up with this certain topic and you know , we kind of expanded from there . So what , what was the ? What was the story that you were like yo , I kind of want to talk about this shit on the podcast to make you send me a message about it .

Speaker 2

Okay , so like I played Destiny 2 . Um , I , I'm awful at it but I love it . So I have a friend of mine that plays with me and like super patient so like whatever . So we were playing one day and I read what we were talking about we're on the top of the video games . But he actually made this like topic and he gets like kudos for this .

So if you're listening , kudos , um , but it was pretty much he was talking to his friend and had a therapist and his therapist was like you know people that are like obsessed with the game or just substituting in game achievements for real life achievement . So it kind of got me thinking is that like a possibility ? A possibility ?

Or like , was the therapist wrong ? Like kind of want to have a conversation about it and see what Afro thought ? And so now we're here .

Speaker 1

I will let me preface this by saying I am no fucking therapist . Trust me , I'm the last motherfucker that needs to be a goddamn therapist .

Speaker 2

So let's just don't take our advice or our opinions . We're just talking and shooting this yeah .

Speaker 1

That's this . Let's just knock that shit out right now . I'm the last motherfucker you need to be sitting across in the chair from talking about how you feeling for real , for real , all right . So um , um , achievements in game is just the person trying to basically take those achievements ?

Are are basically like them achieving those same achievements in real life , like trying to substitute those achievements in real life Right .

Speaker 2

So like , for instance , like let's say , you want to get that , that platinum 100% achievement .

Speaker 1

Yeah .

Speaker 2

People go hard for that and put hours and hours and hours into that . The therapist is like hey , like you're just substituting that in game achievement for like some real life .

It's like the feeling of like your first kid or your first house or whatever , because it's easier in some cases to get that like in game achievement than it is getting some real life achievements . Like , hey , you got your master's degree , that's shit , that's like right . So like that's kind of where the the the topic came from .

Speaker 1

I think I see this both ways . I think it depends on the achievement , um , because I know that in some MMOs there are some achievements that are really , really difficult to get . I can't list any of stuff in my head , but I know that there are some achievements in these games that are like you have to like .

There's an achievement for when Diablo came out the the newest one , Diablo came out and there was this achievement of doing it like the . What is it ? Basically , if you die the first time you die , that's it .

You have to start all the way over Right and if you're able to do that to 100 and not die any other stuff and , you know , just get to that level .

At um Blizzard , there was like a statue or something that you would get your name on Right If you were able to accomplish this certain uh achievement , and I think some people were able to do that achievement . That's a hard achievement to do and at least your name goes on to something .

I mean , it's probably a whole bunch of other people that names are also on that , but that's still , you know , a pretty good achievement , can you ? I mean to other gamers that's dope , but when you're outside of that , people are just like cool , yeah , cool .

Speaker 2

Yeah .

Speaker 1

You know , cool that's that's oh , cool that's that's cool . So what ? So , um , what do you do for a living Like that ? That's usually like the way that shit goes Like . That's usually like the way that shit goes Like , because it's just you have people . You have people that are like that , are professional gamers and they stream and do all this stuff .

But tell me if I'm wrong , I'm not a streamer myself , but a lot of streamers . There's only certain streamers that stick with a certain game , for if they're die hard fans of this game and they stick with it forever , right .

But then there are some streamers that , like the Diablo bandwagon right , Diablo came out , every streamer was playing that shit , right to left . You go on fucking Twitch and Diablo was like , like , everybody was playing that shit Right Right now , everybody's playing that .

Speaker 2

Um damn Power . What's that ?

Speaker 1

Yeah Right , actually that shit does look pretty dope , though I'm not gonna go home .

Speaker 2

I was playing that the other day .

Speaker 1

Right , everybody's playing this game right now . They sold a whole bunch of copies and all this shit .

The thing is it's it's all the , the , the hype shit , all the , anyway , all the hype shit usually , you know , comes up , but then it usually goes down , and then the people that actually stay playing it are the people that are the die hards from the jump Right . Those are the people I don't .

I don't think like , yes , you can be a professional gamer , but I don't even think like a lot of streamers go for like achievements .

Speaker 2

So I know a streamer and case in point , um , I don't assume that plays nothing . I mean nothing but dead by daylight and that's all he streams .

Yeah , and he , I haven't watched him in a while , um , but like , at some point , when you get to that point , you like play that game so many times , you just start making challenges , or like the community itself starts making challenges and you go for those type of challenges and these are that nature .

So you know , and I don't even sure if there's like tournaments or anything for David . I don't think so . But like yeah , he just he just plays that , does a little community challenges and like has a great community and that is great .

And then , like you were saying , yeah , not a lot of people do that , but it's awesome If you find the niche and you actually enjoy that niche . Like I'll watch a guy .

Speaker 1

I'm subscribed to a person on YouTube who plays Hitman and he plays like a whole bunch of just stealth shits , so like Sniper and all that stuff , and it's great . Like I actually watched like a lot of Hitman , like gameplay and and Hitman there are like tons of dope ass achievements and that shit . And Hitman is not really an easy game .

Actually , like some people I've seen some shit with some motherfuckers are so creative with like just killing people in a game . It's insane . But when it comes to like doing those , I don't know the , the , the achievements in a game is a big deal . It is , you know what I mean .

Like there are some achievements that a lot of people don't hit , but a a , a psychist was saying or a therapist saying these achievements are just like a substitute for real life achievements . I find that kind of strange , because a lot of these people that do do these achievements usually have a house .

Here is what I found very Kid really good about it I'm taking a look at these incidents Usually have just regular jobs . Some of them usually have families too .

Speaker 2

I mean , I mean usually , in some cases , yeah , but then you're on the extreme of it . I think they were just thinking of the extreme of it and you do know that there are those people that yeah , that are extreme , like fucking offices or wherever they play games .

Speaker 1

Look like pigs , thighs and shit . Got fucking bowls of dry up like cereal and shit . I .

Speaker 2

Guess it's more for like as a way I like the thing about . I guess it's more like the neat type people like . Sit at home , do nothing , love all their parents . Yeah , yeah , yeah , gaming culture overall . I don't think we do that like . We still , like you know , have our real life achievements or whatever the case may be . I .

Speaker 1

Don't think , I don't think it . I say back in the day , like when gaming was like God heyday , type shit like and I'm , I'm not that old . But like when I say hey , hey , hey day for me is like Getting like playing like halo to with like your friends not online , but you're like in the same place or like the lamb party .

Yeah , and you're like , you know you just playing halo to and just having a good comment oh man , I've actually done that like it , just having like a really good fucking time and you know you just having a good time with people .

I guess nowadays it's more it's it's a little bit more balanced , like you're not just like Just like tunnel vision on Like this certain game . Some some streamers are , some streamers go for like game come out , a Game comes ours , yeah , content .

It's like oh yeah , we have , like you know the developer be like oh yeah , we have like hours and hours and hours of content , that hours and hours , hours of literally gone a day Because people just , oh , game coming out , gotta sit , gotta finish this shit , and then what they get , maybe like an hour or two arrest and they come back out and just talk about

a review .

Speaker 2

Yep right .

Speaker 1

It's like what the fuck ? You didn't even let that shit marinate .

Speaker 2

Not .

Speaker 1

But the achievements I get , I Do get it , but I also understand how Doing those achievements are actually a Very difficult thing to do sometimes and it does take time , and when you're able to do that it's like a breath of fresh air . But then I would think like so , once you do that achievement in the game , where do you go next ?

And I think that that might be the big thing . When that , when you get to that almighty achievement , where do you go next ? Compared to life where you get the achievement of , like I don't know , getting a house or buying , like you know , getting your first car or something like that , or getting that dream job or something that that you want , you can .

You can continue to go from that . But when you get that achievement and this is the almighty achievement in this game Do you continue to play that or do you just ?

Speaker 2

Turn it off . Yeah , you know the next one right and that's one thing about like you can't . You can't turn it off , like , even if you hit your top of team and they having that dream job , okay , well , let's try it for a new achievement , like , do something else .

Or like some people , you know they get that Achievement and just like cozy and get content with it . Like I mean , the choice is up to you . But like , unlike video games , you just can't simply turn off life unless you self-delete . And no , we're against that here . So there you go , right .

Speaker 1

Yeah , very , very true . That's actually like . That's actually like a really good thought and one of my biggest things . I know this is gonna stand out , okay . I know that , like we're gonna , it's gonna be clips from this and I know that people are gonna comment on this shit especially .

I'll take talk Jesus Christ , and I know people on take like one comment on this shit and I just know they're gonna be like you guys don't know what the fuck you're talking about . I know we said that motherfucker . We just said that at the beginning of this shit . This is just conversation .

Speaker 2

It's just a conversation between two friends , right ?

Speaker 1

So you know , like put your head out your ass , god damn , all right . So Christ , and I mean I , like I said , I do get that and I do understand why . Um , I do understand why somebody would Would definitely compare those two , for sure , for sure , but I , so I uh , let me know , was there anything else that you wanted to add to that ?

Speaker 2

now you good , go ahead .

Discussion on TV Show 'In the House

Speaker 1

This has nothing to do with gaming , you guys does nothing to do with gaming .

Speaker 2

But it's very interesting , very good .

Speaker 1

This shit has nothing to do with gaming tech or anime , all right , and some of y'all might not even know what the fuck I'm talking about , right ?

Speaker 2

But if that's the case , you're a little bit too young to be here .

Speaker 1

So my but , okay , this , this is a pretty crazy story , All right . So HBO Max Max right , I'm on there , and they brought in a lot of different series . One of these series was in the house . If you know what in the house is , it's L O CoolJ . Yeah , yeah , I'm so rubber . And it's Kim wands , right . So I'm like , oh shit , yeah , I remember this shit .

This shit used to come on like you peeing back in the day . Just , you know little . You know episodes . They do like a little . You know Bong , right , I'm like I'm , I go to max and I'm like First season , when the fuck did in the house have a first season ?

And I know that's crazy to say , because in order to have Five seasons you have to have a first season right , first of all , didn't know this motherfucker had five seasons . That's a lot of fucking episodes .

Speaker 2

Wait , I could swear again like can't okay , oh yeah five seasons .

Speaker 1

Right , I Played the first episode , the first episode , and I see people in this episode who aren't in the episodes that I've seen when I was younger , because they don't play the first season on TV and On the reruns . I didn't know that Debbie Allen Was in the first and second season of in the house .

Speaker 2

Yeah , didn't she like ? Oh , she went away for something and I can't remember . Like I saw a video that talked about this before , but I can't remember . She was on there for like two seasons , yeah , and then , like she just randomly disappeared and I forgot how to get like . They played it all .

Speaker 1

I'll tell you . I'll tell you how they did it . So I remember this very well . So Debbie Allen , it was . Debbie Allen was a single mother , yeah , with her son and her teenage daughter right , they were . They moved the whole premise of the story from the first season . This is the first season , right ?

The first season was the single mother with her two kids was trying to find a place . You know , just find a friend of trying to find a place to stay . She found a place , but the place was also occupied by ex football player . Name was named Marion .

Speaker 2

Yeah , that was a .

Speaker 1

Marion right played by L O Cool J . So these two basically come to an agreement . I'ma stay out on the Uh , on the like . Whatever you call those rich people call those houses that a guest house , right , the guest house , and you guys get the main house and all that shit right and we share the kitchen and laundry and all that shit right .

So they go through all this shit . You know , first season , second season , all that bullshit . So when it comes to the third season , debbie Allen is gone and the son is gone .

Speaker 2

Yep . The daughter is still in .

Speaker 1

And it's L O Cool J , then it's well , actually , let me , let me scratch that . Kim wayans actually comes in during the second season .

She comes in during the second season and that's when Marion takes his , basically his football money and his uh , all that stuff to make like a physical therapy , like center for like ex pro players and athletes and all that stuff . Right , that's all in the second season of this show .

And I know people are going to be like well , there's not right , but whatever , correct me if I'm wrong . So the in the third season . This is how they flip the story . They basically aren't viv this shit , but not really so .

Speaker 2

And you don't know what . That is a lot . I don't know what . You're not going to that right now so the third season .

Speaker 1

The third season the daughter stays and the story is that her parents he wanted to finish out her high school year when she was , and her parents said , hey , you can stay with this grown ass man In his house and he has to be your legal guardian . That's exactly what it was . These two motherfuckers weren't related .

Speaker 2

No , they were not .

Speaker 1

Right , this is how the third season starts in . Marion has his whole physical therapy shit , and then Alfonso Ribeiro comes in as the physical therapist . Right , crazy as fuck . Five seasons . I was fucking surprised that they had a first season of this show , because I never saw the reruns of the first second season .

I know this is a crazy topic to talk about this , but this shit blew my fucking mind .

Speaker 2

I was like Debbie Allen within this shit , and if I'm not , that might be why , because you know , the first two seasons are NBC Network and then three , four and five or UPN slash indication .

Speaker 1

So no way . So UPN picked that shit up . Wow , Okay , that's wild . Okay , yeah that that . That threw me for a fucking loop . I was like yo , that's crazy , crazy . And the funny thing is the funny shit .

Like I think the same like producer , producing company or whatever that did in the house were the same people that did Fresh Prince of Bel Air , Because it gave me that type of like it does give you the type of energy . Yeah , it gives you that energy . And also seeing Alfonso Ribeiro , but you know older , it's like okay , even the intro , okay it is so .

Speaker 2

That's true . So they have the same executive . Well , she was the executive producer and wrote for Fresh Prince of Bel Air in the house . Her name is Winfrey Harvey , or Ah okay . So that's why they are very similar .

Speaker 1

Gotcha , yeah . So you just get that feel of like Fresh Prince of Bel Air from in the house for sure . But I mean the show as a whole is okay . I mean it's five seasons worse . So you got a lot to watch . Um , you know that fucked me up .

Yeah , out of all the shows that came on there , like the Wans Brothers and what else was on the Jamie Foxx show and all that shit , I knew those shits have first seasons because they showed old episodes . Never , never , thought Debbie Allen was never even thought of Debbie Allen being in the show Ever , ever . Fuck me up so fucking hard .

I was like what the fuck is Debbie Allen ? What the hell is Felicia Rashad's sister doing in the show ? I was like yo , that's gonna be a big time . I was like that's crazy . Okay , that's crazy . I listened to a . I listened to Questlove Supreme , like around like Christmas , and LL Cool J was actually on it .

I don't even think they even talked about that show .

Speaker 2

We have the same birthday who Me and LL .

Speaker 1

Ah , that's what's up . Cool , I'm not the biggest LL fan . I mean , he's a good artist , my mom was , so that's how I know . Your mom and like every woman in America . Shit , I think my mom actually met him and actually got to hug that motherfucker , like recently . Oh you know what I mean .

So , um , oh , and also shout out to my mom it's her birthday today , happy birthday . Yeah , it's the 23rd . Um , but yeah , that was that was crazy , that was that was a wild thing to have . But I was like first season five , five seasons , huh .

Speaker 2

If we didn't like plan it that he was going to talk about LL on this episode , talk about my birthday . It just randomly happened and all the information coincides , yeah .

Speaker 1

That show fucked me up . I was . I was literally I turned this shit off and I was like and then I was straight to my phone , just research and shit . And I was like , yo , this is crazy . Oh , another announcement , we can get off that topic . We talked about it . Another big announcement .

If you are a samurai shampoo fan , samurai shampoo the soundtrack is on Spotify now . Note to self , it doesn't have samurai shampoo cover , like the cover art isn't my shampoo . It's not , it's not any of it . It's . It's like some random shit . It's really some random shit .

Um , I saw the announcement , I saw it on Facebook and I was like I was this is going to grow . I was literally on the toilet and I was like , get the fuck out of here . Right , I was like get the fuck out of here . Samurai shampoo on Spotify . So I went , I went straight to Spotify and I said , oh shit , it's on Spotify .

I was jamming that shit the whole day . I was driving , jamming the hell out that shit . I was like , oh yeah , we needed this big time . We needed this , this . This should have been on Spotify years ago .

Speaker 2

But you got it now . I don't know why .

Speaker 1

I really don't .

Speaker 2

I don't care to know why it was on there too .

Speaker 1

Wait , did that just get on there ? Was that already on it ?

Speaker 2

I think it was . I think it's been on there for a while . It wasn't always on there as one .

Speaker 1

Gotcha , gotcha . Yeah , I was . I was like , oh shit , yeah , if you guys are a fan of the music of Shamurai Champlain , what you should be . There is no wrong . There is there you should be . I don't give a fuck what anybody says . That shit hits , all right , it hits . If you meet somebody that says that shit doesn't hit , do not talk to those motherfucking .

Do not talk to that motherfucking , no more .

Speaker 2

You guys , you guys , you don't fucking know the dust .

Speaker 1

Okay For real , for real , oh man . But yeah , that's something that I saw . I wanted to bring that up to . If people did not know , samurai Champlain soundtrack is on Spotify , so yeah , and like I said earlier in this podcast , tekken , I believe , is coming out the 26 . So if you listen to this , it will be Friday , january 26 .

Game Reviews for Last Epoch and Division 2

And there is there's a game that I am probably going to end up buying soon , but it's it's a . It's a MMO . It started out as a Kickstarter back in what I think , 2018 . They had like a free playable demo and everything , but this is game called last epoch epoch .

I might be saying this wrong , epoch could be saying this all wrong , but looking at it , it , looking at reviews on it , looking at the gameplay of it , and I think this has been like a live , like test run , like the release is next month , but I think it's just been out .

You can buy it now , but you have to know buying it it's not like at it's like .

Speaker 2

You need early access .

Speaker 1

But it's been early access for like months .

Speaker 2

Yeah , boulder's Gate was early access for two years before it dropped .

Speaker 1

Really , and they were just making like corrections and stuff . Yeah , so you early access of Boulder's Gate .

Speaker 2

You can only play like at one which has a really good amount of content , but they would like do updates and stuff on it .

Speaker 1

So yes , do you think that's where ? Do you think that's where games should be done ?

Speaker 2

Because it seems like I would say for smaller companies , yes , large game development money hungry , you know ? Like no , because like you have the capital , you have the funding . I'm not helping you make another game because , whatever , like the company that made Boulder's Gate , they're a smaller studio .

So , yes , you got to pay your $60 in full amount then , but like you get the play and you get the content , you get to help them fiction , implement stuff into the game and being like I think the only if I bought early access was like we happy for you and I bought that early access and it's a good game .

Speaker 1

I think this game is um this this company is small , 11th hour games , very tiny , based out of Delaware and and um I Don't know . I kind of like the way it looks . I think a lot of people are saying that it's it . It might give , like Diablo , like a run for its money .

Speaker 2

I don't know that every they say that about Path of Exile Great they're saying that about that too .

Speaker 1

It's like a combination of Diablo and Path of Exile , but just put together .

Speaker 2

See when it comes up .

Speaker 1

Yeah . So I was like , okay , that's not , that's not too bad , I kind of like that . So I've just been watching YouTube videos on it and and shit like that , just seeing what , just seeing how it is and what's up with it . But yeah , that's something I'm looking forward to .

I might buy that probably , maybe like at the end of the week or something like that , just Give it a little test run and see what's going on with it . Um , so yeah , and then I've been Kind of just playing division . Division has a new , a new season starting February 6 .

Speaker 2

Everybody's in playing division again .

Speaker 1

Yeah , division to . They have a . They're doing they are basically buffing . They are they're changing a lot of stuff . A lot of the weapons are Getting buffs and all that shit . A lot of stuff is changing the whole the way that you recalibrate and all that stuff you can .

You're gonna be able to like recalibrate and optimize like on the fly , so when you're like not at the home base , you can do it like when you're out and about Just right there , which is actually a really big deal . So if you are curious about playing division 2 , I think it's like really cheap right now . I wouldn't be surprised . Has to be . It's on steam .

You can go through Ubisoft , but it's uh , I Mean playing that . I Love division 2 . It's probably one of the most consistent games next to the middle gear that I have been playing , because it's the community in Division 2 is really good . Um , it's , it's actually really good . I , um , I was playing . I was trying to do the . What is it ?

the insertion yeah that's what I call it , and the I didn't . I never played it before and I got teamed up with some people that played it before and I was , you know , we were dying and shit . And the cow was like have you guys played this before ? No , he was like , okay , back out . And he kind of just went through like of all that .

He literally gave me like a list of the shit that I needed , the stats that I needed , the type of gun that I needed . He told me you need this much DMG , you need this much health , this much Armor and stuff like that in order for you to go into this and actually do some type of damage with it . Yeah , division is dope .

It's if you like tactical shit , if you like the , the very small details of like Just anything . If you , if you're like a detailed person , you should get a vision to a try that you should buy just the first division , because people are still playing that .

Speaker 2

Wait , really yes .

Speaker 1

Yes , people are still playing the first division . First of all , that first division . The thing that gets me about the first division which I hope they bring in division three is the fucking snow . I Love the snow . There's no snow in division two . It's fucking rain and just sunny weather . Give me some fucking snow . You know you're indeed against snow here .

That's not the point . Um , it was just that , honestly , in division in the first division , it was just a good aesthetic To just be like shooting and snow and all that shit .

Speaker 2

It was actually really cool and I love that but I mean you gotta think about it , but isn't the first one based in New York ?

Speaker 1

Yeah , but we go back , we stop , we're in DC . Yeah in division two , and then we also go back to New York .

Speaker 2

Oh , it's still no snow .

Speaker 1

No Damn snow . Well , I Might be wrong , it might be snow in New York , but like I Think it might be snow in New York , I Could be wrong . I might be snow in New York , but most of the time You're only in New York for like a certain amount of time .

Most of your time You're in DC and you're going through DC doing what you got to do and all that shit it . But yeah , those are games that you know kind of just excited for excited for looking forward to and all that shit for sure , for sure . Is there anything that you're looking forward to that's coming out ? Maybe like in the next couple ?

Speaker 2

months .

Speaker 1

No , no like .

Speaker 2

I don't tend to like get excited about games coming out and it's to be like you're about them coming out and I'll look into it myself and then decide if I want to play it Okay .

Speaker 1

Yeah , man , um , and how she really fucked me up it really did Like it . It was . It was just , it was so simple shit . It's like yeah , you have to have a first season because it's it's a show , it has five seasons , Of course you have to have a first season .

Speaker 2

I think you got like the third season or whatever was like the first Yo .

Speaker 1

I think that's the way they wanted it to be . Yeah , they were like they would get to exist here you go yeah right , if we're gonna rerun this , we're gonna start from right here . We're gonna start from right here . This teenage girl is I think she was like in college or something .

At this time , like now , this girl needs a place to stay and her parents said she can stay with this grown ass man .

Speaker 2

Why you do this .

Speaker 1

That was so good . You're her legal guardian . Now You're a legal guardian , Not us . We out fucking you know rich and shit , Because that's a crazy concept . Crazy concept . Okay , I think that girl's name was Tiffany Yo , that was crazy .

This dude's not even like her father , but it's like he's doing like father shit like the discipline , like don't we have a parties in my house and all that shit .

Speaker 2

And it's kind of a respect , like you know how a party and somebody else .

Speaker 1

I guess . But look , if you guys have Max just go check out the first two seasons . Just go check them out . You don't just . You can play that shit in the background , honestly . But when you see Debbie Allen , don't be surprised . I'm giving you a heads up because it fucked me up .

I didn't even know , I didn't even know there was a son and the motherfucker only lasted two seasons .

Speaker 2

Yes , it was the first two seasons , are them two ? And then the third and fourth and the fifth are like everybody else .

Speaker 1

Yeah , that's crazy . Jesus Christ , Crazy , crazy , crazy , crazy , crazy Is there ? Is there anything that you want to announce , anything that you want to bring up ? How are you going to be doing any stream soon ? Are you getting back into the streaming ?

Speaker 2

Yeah , you guys know , like on my Tuesdays , after we record this , I actually do my true crime Tuesdays . If you guys like true crime or just want to hang out with my crew , you can come watch me on my Twitch , which is the same as my name on screen . Yeah , that's pretty much it .

Speaker 1

Do you do you don't ? I've been on that . I watched you stream that , true stuff . You don't . You don't want to do the makeup shit .

Speaker 2

You know how to know I do not want to do the makeup shit .

Speaker 1

I think that shit is so crazy that it works . I think that's so crazy that it works . Just be , just be , yeah , and it cut up legs and the body parts and everything like what are you doing this ?

Speaker 2

Okay , so I because I personally don't like watching those is like why are we mixing true crime and makeup like this ain't what I'm here for , so I do not like wash those at all .

Speaker 1

Is there ? Is there like a channel just for like true crimes ?

Speaker 2

Yeah , there's a bunch of channels that are for true crime .

Speaker 1

I mean like that's it , like there's nothing else , but like oh damn , I can't get it , catch up on the times . Why is it ? Why here's the question , and I might get really cool for this why is it that a whole bunch of women like these shits ?

Speaker 2

Okay , I can't , I can't tell you . It was just me growing up , that's what my mom watched . We were watching like ID and like you're adding to it , we're watching forensic files and America's most wanted in cops or whatever .

So , like it , just as a grown up and like , stuck with me and like , because I want to get into cybersecurity , I just , I just like it and I watch it . So like I Like . For me it's not like I obsess over serial killers or anything of that nature , but like I do have a favorite one , but like .

Speaker 1

That's wild Yo . Do you know who my favorite serial killer is ? I Don't have one . Can you just tell ?

Speaker 2

me what your mind ? My , the Jeffrey Jeffrey Dahmer yeah , the one that did the Netflix show . No , I did not watch it . I watched part of it and I just like didn't go back and watch it . Yeah , that's my favorite .

Speaker 1

Man Okay .

Speaker 2

You can't even say he's my time because he's gay . So like I , just I found like he was that lost soul that just needed some direction in life or whatever that's . That's it .

Speaker 1

I .

Speaker 2

Did I think ?

Speaker 1

I told you there was a man . So , like I said , not into the serial killer shit , but me just , you know you on YouTube and shit like that , I don't watch it like this , so it doesn't come into my feet because I don't need that shit in my life .

Um , but there was a guy in Baltimore who he used to sell hamburgers Right , big dude , big dude , right , it's having like Late 80s , early 90s and he used to sell burgers , right , and Come to find out that motherfucker , was literally the burger meat , was actually human meat and he was feeding it to people .

Speaker 2

Yeah , that's been cases of that . I think I might have heard about that , but yeah yeah , this big , huge like white dude from Baltimore .

Speaker 1

He was a . He looked crazy like you want . He looked like . He looked like a mixture of who's not crazy . He looked like a Combination of big boss man from WWF and Bam Bam Bigelow . He looked like those two motherfuckers put together . You take those two motherfuckers and that's what he looked like .

If you took the shape of big boss man's head and you took the size of Bam Bam Bigelow , that's what he looked like okay , I Mean , are we just not like off the true crime radar ?

Speaker 2

We're on the true crime radar too . They're too big as well In the realm of true crime . I guess we have two big ass cases here , but yeah so .

Speaker 1

Yeah , that's not , that's just a for me , man , that's just a for me . I'd rather watch somebody shoot at targets , all right , to see somebody break down a gun , tell me how this gun shoots , and I would recommend this or not recommend it before I watch that shit .
