What To Do When Your Colleagues Make More Than You / Unequal Pay or Compensation

Tips:

1. Take a deep breath
   
2. Decide, we have 3 options
   
   1. Leave it alone
      
   2. Ask for more
      
   3. Leave for a better paying job
      
3. Do your research
   
4. Create a plan to stay engaged and motivated
   
5. Figure out if you want to approach your boss or your HR team
   
6. Decide what range you'll be happy with
   
7. Take time to feel the feels
   

During your conversations:

• Focus on you, your qualifications and what you bring to the table
  
• Keep it positive and upbeat
  
• Know your stuff
  
• Be confident
  

Don't: bring up specifics about your colleagues

What you need to know:

• You are amazing
  
• You deserve to be compensated fairly
  
• You are worth it
