The Flight of their Lives

Have you ever seen a plane flying upside down? Or, flying inverted, like the pilot people say. Have you seen a plane do this at a flight show, or in the new Top Gun movie? Or in the old Top Gun movie? Tell me, friends, what does that plane look like? I guarantee that the image you have produced in your head is not…this. For those of you listening, picture a big ass cargo plane, a McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30 cargo jet, to be exact. Painted in blue and red with the “FedEx” logo which was at that time the words “Federal Express.” If you’re wondering, no, that plane is not designed to do that. But desperate times called for desperate measures in April of 1994, and thanks to three heroic men, some good luck, and some G-forces, this plane landed safely even after a hammer and a spear gun got involved.

Bloody Mary (Cocktail)
2 parts vodka
4 parts tomato juice
1/2 part lemon juice
2 dashes Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon celery salt
Ground black pepper
1 stalk celery, for garnish
1 pickle spear, for garnish
1 lime wedge, for garnish

1. Mix the vodka, tomato juice, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce directly in your glass with ice
2. Add celery salt and black pepper to taste
3. Garnish with a fresh lime wedge, celery stalk and pickle spear

Virgin Mary (Mocktail)
3 parts tomato juice
1/2 part lemon juice
