Episode description

Is there something in your home state that you just HAVE to tell people about? Some kind of roadside attraction that’s well, weird? Something that you force out of town guests to visit because it’s the most odd thing you’ve ever experienced? Just me? At the ripe old age of 64, Samuel P. Dinsmoor, or as we will call him, Sam, starts construction on his populist masterpiece. He took 113 tons of cement and many tons of limestone and transformed them into an eleven room “log” cabin, and surrounded the mansion (because in my book, eleven rooms is officially a “log” mansion) with 150 sculptures. But, frankly, that’s only the beginning of the strangeness of the man, the myth, the legend, S.P. Dinsmoor. We’re headed to the Gadda-Da-Vida, Baby!
