Episode 1: The Real Tick-Tock

Episode 1 of the Cape & Drew Podcast is here! The two host come out right away explaining the mission of the podcast, touching on who they are, how they met, what they have been through, and how it has all shaped them into the people they are today. They both describe why they started playing sports and what made each of them good players. That conversation shifts to who their favorite players were growing up and who they tried to model their games after. Cape and Drew both talk about growing up playing ball at young ages and mention some of the players they played against during AAU basketball tournaments whom some of which play(ed) in the NBA. The two discuss when they felt they were good enough to play college basketball. From there, the two begin comparing participating in high school sports vs. college sports. Drew speaks to his experience playing at a Predominately White Institution (PWI) and then transferring to a Historically Black College/University (HBCU). That story leads them directly to Cape and Drew explaining what each of their worst days of workouts/conditioning were as student-athletes. They both discuss some of their best memories of their college days and divulge what they think is the best basketball movie of all time. Lastly, Cape and Drew give advice to future student-athletes based on what they know from their own life experiences.  Whether you are a future, current, or former student-athlete and/or just want to hear some great advice and storytelling in an authentic, transparent, and entertaining way, this is the podcast for you!
