Episode description

CanucksBanter is on the air....My name is Andrew Chernoff, I am the host of this podcast as well as writer, publisher, photographer and editor of CanucksBanter. Both the podcast and my site primarily focus on the Vancouver Canucks of the NHL. Hockey though is a global phenomenon in many countries, at different levels, professional and amateur. So, regarding the subject of ice hockey, the world is our oyster, so-to-speak.

Today, the 2022 Hlinka Gretzky Cup featured in Alberta, Canada this past week. Team Canada defeated Team Sweden in the gold medal match 4-1 on Saturday afternoon. In the consolation game, Finland defeated Czechia 3-1. Also, the Chair of the Hockey Canada Board of Directors, Michael Brind'Amour stepped down on Saturday, August 6. Kevin Woodley looks at what the Vancouver Canucks have done so far this off season to reset the Canucks for the coming season. Tyler Motte is still unsigned as of this podcast: would the Canucks want him back? Jonathan Huberdeau or Johnny Gaudreau: who will have a better 2022-23 season? Does the signing of Jonathan Huberdeau make it harder for Vancouver to sign J.T. Miller?
