Welcome to Cannabis School. I'm your host, Jesse Angeles. And I'm Brandon Elder. And we're here to talk to you about everything pertaining to cannabis from vape flower edibles. Strains. And everything in between. Welcome back. So we've been talking about trying to be able to find a really good sativa. Like it's just a good one cuz you have a we've got kind of a sense like I know ones that I really like and you know ones that you really like.
Like, yeah, Pineapple Express we get along with. That I love that one. Great. I feel like most sativas are still really good. It's just for me, it's very much dosing so I don't get the sativa headache. Yeah, it's like Alaskan Thunder fuck. Like for me, it makes me super sleepy. Yeah, it's like that's just for you. But that's just one cultivar, yeah. But for me, like looking around about it, we we've been trying to be able to find something that's just awesome. Feels good.
It's not super long as far as the feeling because we're having it. Flower too heady, not like yeah. Really just a grounded sativa. Keeps you talky and chatty, But before I go too far into it, what are we talking about today? Oh, today we're talking about that big white whale getting slapped in the face with some Moby Dick. Moby Dick, You know, it's really funny. Brandon was like loading up the bong we have over here. Big shout out to jet filtration systems. Bongs. Love this piece?
Best piece ever. We're unofficially like we love it, so we're always talking about it. We'll get a discount code or something from them sometime soon, hopefully. And I'll tell you this thing is the best bong. But we're having this in flower Moby Dick. And when he said it was Moby Dick, I thought he named the bong Moby Dick. And I'm not putting my mouth on this Dick. I I mean, I guess it's kind of fitting.
It's big and white and you know you think it's gonna wreck you and it can, but like, you don't cough with this shit. Oh shit dude, that's fucking funny. Like, just the way you said, like you think it's going to wreck you, but actually it's going to show you a good time. Like, it'll be gentle, you'll be gentle at 1st until we really get you lubricated. But you know, this is like one of the best sativas I've had in a while. We've already smoked a bowl of it before we got started.
I'm really clear. I didn't have any CBDI, didn't have any lemons or lime or anything with with Lemony to be able to help counteract it. No panic whatsoever. Really like, but really nice. I feel like I'm energized, focused, very chatty. No headache. None. None at. All we've already consumed quite a bit of. It because we actually went to the gym this morning and I beat my arms up so I felt like jello guy. But this is this is really made it super nice actually.
This has the strain. Moby Dick has been really awesome in the sense that the flavor is very, very mild. Now of course we're going through a jet filtration. I will say this, this is unlike any other type of bong. The flavor, the experience. It is fantastic. Best it is the best. This would be in hands down. If we were rating this in Gelato, Brandon would say.
This is from Italy. Oh my God, yeah, this is Italian Gelato. Like, actually, now I just want to go back to Italy. But while he's taking a hit, I just wanted to take a minute and thank everyone on Patreon. We fucking love you guys. We love that you guys help support the show. It means the world to us and it helps us reach more people. So truly, from the bottom of our hearts, it means the world to us and for everyone else who tunes in every week. We love you guys.
Yeah, we love. You and and join our Patreon. Donate to the show. This just helps us in being able to develop better content. We're already developing another side of the show, so for when you're listening to this, just be prepared. We're going to be releasing episodes on Thursdays, but it's it's part of cannabis school. It's cannabis infused. The Sesh. Yeah, the SESH you're going to guys are going to love it.
It's going to be something that has been asked about and that's why we're keeping our reviews the way we were before and that's why we're getting back into that. So to go back into it though, So what is the the background of this one? What's what's the oh shit, I got into my hand. What's the lineage of this strain? This one's Haze and White Widow, actually. White Widow is a really good I loved. When we had White Widow.
That one's a fantastic sativa. And that actually makes sense with and and and I'll talk about why you take a hit because and when we look at the this type of sativa it's got it's very like up there. This is a jet fuel feel. It's very clear we're having it in flower too which flower slaps a lot harder than concentrates for me.
And it's the only reason why is because you're getting the full entourage effect from all of the terpenes and from all the different cannabinoids that are in this, of course we're burning plant. But I feel like concentrates like a a dab slaps harder but flower slaps better. Yeah, OK. There you go. I that's a better a better description of it. It slaps better because the the concentrates are awesome. I would love to do concentrates. What I meant by concentrates, I
was thinking of a distillates. Oh. Yeah, a distillate in this would be decent would be nice, but it would have to be in a live resonance. Slap in comparison to distillates, yeah. Yeah, distillates, I mean. I would see this giving you a headache in a cart. However, since I haven't had it in a cart, I can't make that assumption. Yeah, I'm not a big fan of Disney, though now I am. More of a fan now of live resin and rosin, even though the price
is higher, it just is cleaner. The experience is just so much better. Well, it's. Closer to this. I feel like I've had lots headaches. Oh yeah, I've been. It's really hard too, 'cause I really enjoy a cart. Like it's just nice. Like it's with me all day when I'm in my, you know, moving around, I'm, I'm driving I'm I'm going from one business to another consulting and meetings and and when I'm doing that like I would love to have this.
I mean I know and you know what I'm not gonna say that but I would like to have this during that day. That's what I'm gonna say. Yeah, because it feels good but it doesn't keep me inebriated. I'm not inebriated at all. No, I don't feel like I'm high, dude. This is our third bowl. Yeah, but it's incredibly clear headed. Like it's not it's no fogginess. It's no not a lot of dryness in the mouth. There is a little bit. This one's supposedly known for
paranoia and dizziness. Well, also if you. But we didn't experience any anxiousness or heart palpitations or anything from any of these so far. So what are the terpenes that are in this? This one's terpenes are dominant. What is terpenoline, Miracine and? Osamine and the Miracine could be a big contributor to No Panic. It could be, but maybe terpenoline is a really good one for that as well. This also has CBG in it. Well, that explains from small
percentages. Yeah, but I've actually read that cancer book that I read talks so much more about CBG and that. And I'm like. That's a great anti-inflammatory. It's just yeah, most strains aren't grown for it because it's the precursor to THC and CBD, so it's usually all grown out or most of it has changed to another compound by then, but they are starting to grow more that have high CBG.
Well, if you think about it, I mean, if we're growing plants with higher THC count, we need to be able to have others that go along with it, because it's not the THC that gets you fucking high, it's the entourage effect that makes you feel what you want. Yeah, the straight THC is not a fun experience you just get. Paranoid and anxious. And it's like just. Too much. It's like those high concentrate carts. And they're, they're, they're. Distals have been fine.
Yeah, but they, a lot of them don't add in the terpenes. Yeah, back into it, because it's all. Filtered terpenes feel like they're not cannabis derived or something, and so it's just really gross. And you? Can tell a difference, Yeah. It's nowhere near the same. And I'm like, that's like you said, live resin and rosin change the game. I'm like I feel way better, cleaner, much nicer experience
with that. Yeah, shout out to Faded Co and shout out Big Shout out to Dragonfly Wellness here in Utah. Their products are amazing. We've been partaking of a lot of theirs. You'll be hearing that name in the future. You'll be hearing that name in the future with the show. But yeah, this is such an amazing high Now where? Where can we get this strain? Is this pretty? Is it dominant? Question. Is it here in Utah? Is it in California or it's grown everywhere?
This was grown in Utah. Oh, that's right. OK, so we're just gonna say you can possibly get it in Utah. No, no you can't. No, you can't get. In no, this was grown in Utah, but you can't get this in Utah. This was a custom grow that was given to us. Yes, that's right. So but no, I'm wondering, I mean do we see Moby Dick a lot like in Vegas area? Are we seeing this in Arizona? I would imagine Arizona being a long time player in the cannabis industry.
They would have in California 100% all up and down the West Coast. I'd be curious if the east. Coast gets it. Do you guys have Moby Dick out on the East Coast? I know that there's quite a few strains that we review that you're like, oh, we don't have this. Can you do these ones? Do you guys have Moby Dick? Yeah, yeah, That's. Or even White Widow like or would have been the variants that you guys have noticed over on the East Coast recently. This is probably like it's quite different.
Yeah, like this strain. It feels a lot like, and this may sound really weird, but at first when you're able to do it, you definitely feel it, you definitely feel it, but as it starts to dissipate, it's more of like a hemp feel. This is more like CBD feel at the end, which is really nice come down off of it because I feel that some strains, I feel that there's just like a big crash, you know what I mean?
Like it just comes so quickly that you don't have time to either load up another bull, take another hit to be able to feel what you want to continue going with. This is a great social strain. And it's really mild. So this one's only like normally 17% THC. It's not normally a high level THC strain, so that could also be and plus the cultivar who grew. This is 100% going to grow for a wider range of cannabinoids because I know they care way more about the entourage effect
than a higher potency of THC. But like as a good daytime strain, you could use this all day long and go to a meeting. Like you could do anything I feel like with this and be incredibly productive. Yeah, I think this is probably the closest to Candyland. So for those of us that have tried Candyland, Candyland is great. I've only tried it in an extract, which I loved. I love that I scraped that jar like three times.
Like, you know, you get your your dab tool and you're just going like this back and forth, like trying not to pull anything. And and this one was a glass. I was so happy about that and I was just scraping just to get everything I could off of that. This gives the great feeling of that one. However, it doesn't have that super happy effect. It's very clear effect. So I would say great for getting tasks done.
If if you're overwhelmed with to do tasks that you just haven't followed up all week, this would be great to get that list taken care. Of yeah, I feel like you can get very focused with it, very creative and like, just get in that flow, get a lot of your shit down the low, yeah. Yeah, I also see this being like when we had talked about earlier and that's one of the big reasons why we love this jet is that the bull can stay lit for quite a while on this.
And if you had a community of people you're getting together. This is a great precursor strain to start out the night. Maybe you're having a get together of food, go outside you, you all get out, there you go, damn you all get outside and you guys hit this jet filtration one because it's one. It's takes a bond. To the restaurant? Yeah, go outside. You're throwing it at your house, right? You're helping people over, right? Fuck the restaurant, you know,
those dirty bastards. More money and it's going to be greasy anyways. Like have this, like almost potluck of really good food. Like people. Like, that's a great idea. Like have everybody like, hey, we're going to have these things. Don't go by Smith's and pick up some cookies like let's. You know that's a that's. A store to do another edible infused dinner? That would be.
Especially. Because after making that edible infused sugar I was like what other seasonings in that can I make into edible infused to dose everything out? Yeah, I knew it would have to be tiny doses with each one. Well, that's what I've done that before where I did an individual where I'm like, all right, I need to know yours, yours, yours. And then I was like, all right, here's yours, here's yours, here's yours, here's yours if
anyone needs more. Also don't forget dessert is going to be like this dose on here. And then, yeah, I just made it really simple to dose everyone at their dose they needed. Dude, you know what just made me think about that? Like, it would be really good to do this and it it'd be cool, 'cause you could put the oil on after or you could put it in. OK, so imagine this. We get these. My grandmother, she used to filet well. She'd pound out like a chicken
into like a Patty like this. Or I I filet it. I don't. I don't wanna do. I wanna make it flat, but I still wanna choose how I soften it up. Right. You fry, you bread it and you fry it, right, but the chicken stands on its own. But then you make a sauce that's infused and then put it over that. And then part of that, when you got mashed potatoes, it wouldn't infuse the mashed potatoes just for flavor.
I have done before. I don't normally infuse the potatoes, but I'll infuse like butter or gravy with it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But. When you do it properly, just like the Jolly Rancher you tried that didn't really taste I. Know cannabis taste? You won't taste it if you do it correctly. And then it's just a meal that they're like, oh hey, I'm
getting high. Right. And I think this would be great before that because even in those microdoses and the temperatures, you will feel it and it will change the composition of the cannabis that you're ingesting. But they're such low amounts, you're not gonna feel it until a little bit later. So I'd rather go in the media into the meal because I believe that this would be a strain that would enhance the flavors
because of the dry mouth. And and that's what I was gonna say with dry mouth, as they saying is a negative. I see it as a positive, especially if you're about to eat something because it makes you feel really good, like it's awesome. And when you're eating, you get to enjoy the flavors instead of just like almost choke on it, 'cause I'm like ex military and I feel like I gotta eat now. Yeah, growing up, it's interesting. I was watching my daughter, 'cause she was eating.
And I'm like, you're like grandpa. Grandpa was always like, as fast as his hand could go to his mouth. And I'm like, he grew up with eight kids. And it was like, well, if you don't eat, you don't eat, 'cause you didn't get there fast enough. And it was like shit. Yeah, and they still have that. It's like the military dude. Like you only have this much time to eat and let's go.
Now that's in boot camp. When you get out there, like the only thing that would the reason why they do that is to get you ready. Like something could happen. Yeah, and you gotta go. Like you can't even finish your just fucking go. Yeah, so. And you only have whatever fuel you put inside you, so if you
take a long time, you only get. But in a time where you're the most malleable in the military is in boot camp and meaning by your mind because you go in there with a civilian mindset and you're like, yeah, it's gonna be like camp, but kind of harder. Nope. It gets worse, worse, worse. And then it starts getting better. And then you start gaining your freedom and you start gaining your autonomy and teamwork. You get that all in nine weeks, right?
It's pretty cool. But at the same time, like, I don't even know why I was going in that direction. Got fucking high. Eating Oh yeah. Eating food, dude. You actually can. I like using cannabis with it. I feel like I enjoy the food more because I'm sitting there and I normally sit and enjoy the flavors versus normally I I do eat pretty quick too. Like I feel like I don't sit back and enjoy the flavors or savor them as often if I'm not elevated for it.
But if I do get elevated then it's like. Now you could enjoy it, though, because that's the thing, like when you eat something like some type of sweet, but it's like a natural sweet, like an orange. Like you ever get a really good orange. And when you just eat it to eat it because it's like, oh, nice. And you're just kind of peeling them off and eating like a little. What are those, like cuties? Yeah. And things you get at Costco. Right.
And a big old bag of GMO fruit. Hell, yeah, I eat GMO, eat my, eat a Dick. Anyway. So it's it's it's so good though when you're on cannabis, especially strained like this, because it's just it's so good. I found that I actually enjoy cheesecake sometimes when I have cannabis, because before cheesecake was like pumpkin pie to me. It's gross. Like someone's shit in your mouth, I guess. Super nasty. That's all right. I mean, I think it's amazing. So shit in my mouth.
That's what you're into. Yeah, this is a the strain just elevates well your mood. It's supposed to be good for depression, anxiety and stress. So like I would agree with that, like 100%. Now for those who are more prone to that panicky feel when they talk, when they think about cannabis, you're not gonna, at least from our experience right now and knowing the cultivar like it's it's got everything it talks about. It doesn't feel racy. At all. I don't feel it in my back, my
chest. I feel it in my head, but not hard. It's. Very mild, yeah. It's just like. But not a foggy, just like it. I feel it inside and almost like inside my shoulders. Or maybe that's the workout. That's probably the workout. Of the workout, but no, no, I don't feel anything. I just feel good. I feel really level. I feel very mild, but I I don't
feel down. Definitely up, but not in the like like you know, Yeah, it's not a. Giggly. He's training, no. No, like we I think when you first get into cannabis, the giggles, there's usually kind of a a new thing. Well, but that also. And maybe the panic. I wonder how many people have no idea what they're smoking. So that could be also whatever strain it is that you're given. Some are very giggly strains, yeah. I'm not a some. Really aren't?
I would love to have like a really good Giggly Strain and then watch a funny movie like. Oh, that would be fun. The The best movie I ever watched on cannabis was Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. And when I watched that, one was with a bunch of people. I didn't know what I was smoking. We just smoked out of this really awful looking bong that somebody made from like, milk jugs. But it was, it was gross, but I
was high as shit. And we watched that movie and it made sense to me, and I laughed hysterically throughout the entire movie. But I was young and I didn't understand nuance and all that other shit. So now I'd watch it going, Yeah, that is definitely weird. But back then I thought it was hilarious. This isn't a giggly strain, though. I like that. I I like giggly strains for certain reasons. Sometimes, yeah, they're great. Sometimes to just, like, really boost your mood or like, get you
out of a funk or something. But if you're not even. I mean, this one's supposed to be good for depression and anxiety and that, but, like, I felt great already. Yeah, I feel great. I I don't feel a lot of it's good on pain too. I know I'm feeling I have pain, but I have mild, mild pain and not feeling as much as I normally would, especially after the workout we had this morning. Yeah, I don't feel as tight or as sore as I thought I would.
We press flower first because that's when you get to experience the plant as it was intended to, but not knocking other ways to consume because I enjoy those ways as well. And everybody's different, more seasoned pros. You guys are into edibles and making your own, making like 300 milligram edibles and you're like, and here's I'm looking at
you like, what are you doing? I just got all excited thinking, and now I could make my own dose of Jolly Rancher with, could you imagine like a 2 to 300 milligram Jolly Rancher? Like, I'm getting all excited over here, man. That would be really cool. Well, that's the great thing about that. Like even the Jolly Ranchers. Like if you could just break them into 20 fives or 50s per that, then you're just putting a couple of them in your mouth.
They're not huge and no, I'm not, no, I'm not going to do it. It is Moby Dick. I'm not going to do it, but it's great. If you have access to Moby Dick, what are you doing? Go get that shit. Yeah, it is awesome. I feel like it's a good go out and do shit kind of strain. And if you're a if you're an indica person died in the wool and you're just like, no, like I've got a brother-in-law who's just like, I don't touch sativas and I just can't. It makes my heart race.
Yeah, I was like, maybe it makes them anxious and paranoid. Cause a lot of sativas have pining in that one that can induce that even if it's trace amounts of pining. Well, I often think how often my heart races, but I am very accustomed to it and going. I'm not anxious. My heart is racing. Because it's recognized. Yeah, I understand the situation and what's going on with my body, but it is very different I think, because still some can induce anxiety as well. Oh yeah.
But if you are not present, I think that can be terrifying because of racing. Heartbeat for someone who might not always be present can bring them present and if all they feel is anxiety and heart racing and that, then it's not a good experience. No. And I I would imagine that the distillate would be very similar to this feeling, and if it was a live rosin pen, I think it would be real close to this. That would be interesting.
I bet you would get more heart palpitation or like potential headache and dosing, just because I find that pure distalized process is like it's not anywhere near as nice. Right. Yeah, I agree. It's something that you really should be able to look at it where not a lot of fear associated with this, this strain. It's a.
Great starters jump right. In even though it's high on the on the uplifting and super focused like the fact that it doesn't have any panic you feel or heart racing, that's usually what's contributed to the panic is just elevated heart rate. And it's really clear headed. So it's not like a lot of pressure or anything, anywhere that I think would really be a bad experience for a new user. So this this actually might be the perfect introductory strain because it doesn't necessarily
immobilize them in the couch. It doesn't make them like crazy in their head. It doesn't make them super introspective or anything like it. Just think how many people have social anxiety or going to, you know, meet new people or even normal people they know how many people have a drink for something to just take the edge off, But this would do that, but you would be very much still you. You're not inebriated, you're just very much you. It's. I don't know man. I really like this like you.
And I'm thinking like if this was made into an edible, how nice that would be to be able to maintain that for around 3 hours. Like if 368 hours, as as edibles can affect our endocannabinoid system differently just based on who we are, where we live, what we consume. Yeah, everything about us. Yeah, so I think that's
something to think in mind too. If you have the ability to be able to make your own edibles, this would be a great strain to make edibles in And you know for those who are like yeah I'm new into cannabis and I want to try something. This would be a great strain to have edibles made out of for that reason alone because edibles are insanely strong.
And on top of that when somebody else gets right into it, that's usually when they have one of the worst experiences on cannabis they've ever I've I've yeah, the only thing bad thing I've heard of when they smoke the plant is it doesn't taste good like it's smoke. Yeah, or they might get a little bit high, but that usually comes down way, way faster than an edible experience. Who was I talking to? There was someone else recently, and it was actually about that
because it was, Oh my goodness. OK, so it was Addison, my daughter. So we were driving and I'd picked her up from my brother's house. She was hanging out with her cousins. Oh yeah, yeah. And her cousins are 12 and like 9. And apparently her cousins have decided to check out our show because they're like, hey, Uncle Brandon has a podcast. Hey, Uncle Brandon's podcast is on Spotify. So I I'm at the soccer game with my niece and she's like, Brandon, what's Kanabanus?
And I was like cannabis. And she's like, yeah. And I was like, it's a plant. And she's like, well, could I listen to your show? And it doesn't sound like it's a plant. And I was like, no, what What episode did you listen to? And she was like the first one. And I was like, oh, that makes sense. We're kind of, it was like 3 or 2 1/2 three years ago. We're kind of figuring it out. Plus, it's not to talk about the planets, to kind of explain why the show exists.
Yeah. And I was like, but, you know, so I started talking about that and my mom's sitting there too, as as Abby's asking about this. My mom's eyes are like and and she's like kids can see that. And I was like, well, it's labeled as explicit because we say words that are, you know, explicit, you know, not necessarily designed for children all the time. So we're not intending that the audience has children. Yeah, but children, I mean, we have. My mom's eyes widen more like
what? I was like, well, you can't. I mean, here's the thing, like what would I rather have my kids listening to and watching, talking about how a plant has affected their lives and people around them, how it's being able to make a lot of different things as far as medicines to start to speculate? Like maybe we can create more out of this and we're at the beginning stage of that. Like I would rather do that than than getting onto porn.
Oh yeah, but. It it's been a. Really good conversation with my niece, even. Oh yeah, that was awesome, My daughter. Has like way we have conversations all the time. Yeah, well, I mean, it's here. But with my niece, it was like, she had all this questions and that. And I was like, it's just a medication. It's like or it's it's just a thing that people use And she's like, oh, can it be about? I'm like, there's always dosing.
It's like anything else. People can have a bad experience on it, Yes, but it can also help with all sorts of stuff. It's just making sure that you're taking the proper dosing and the proper thing. And that's what's great about you know cannabis is the great uniter because it's it helps people to be able to break down those barriers, even having a conversation like you have with your kids And what I have with my kids, like the conversations my kids always ask me is can I
try it? And I'm like, no, unfortunately, I can't give that to you right now. And what it And I I say, well, why do you want to try it? And they're like, well, I know you, you say on your podcast, 'cause my kids will listen to it. My, my, my oldest listens to it. Really. And hey, Max. And he always asks, is like, hey, so, you know, I was thinking like, I'm like, no, no, no, no, no, no. Like, just because you listen to my podcast doesn't mean that like, oh, well, you know, I'll
baptize you into this, you know? Yeah, Here we go. Like. I think it's good because they can help get a better understanding of the plant through listening to the show, but but it doesn't necessarily justify like, hey, I feel comfortable with you utilizing this. Well, it's like people who grow up in a, in a very staunch gun culture, like guns are a part of
their everyday life. They know a bit like when they're growing up, like when I grew up, people who are involved in the guns, like their dad always had a gun on them. There was a rifle in the truck all times kids would go to to high school with guns in the truck or in their locker. Like there were no mass shootings of those times and people were armed, even children. And it's it because and the reason why I bring it up, Because if it's if it's known and it's you safely.
It's not a danger. It's you Educate them on it. When I had guns, I took my kids shooting. I have pictures of my daughters when they're two years old, shooting because it was you teach them. These are dangerous. But it'd be respected. Yes, it's just like anything else. You don't teach them to be afraid of everything. You teach them to understand everything.
So that way they don't have to be afraid of it and they can go, yeah, no, I'm going to make an educated decision that that's not good, that's that dose is way too high or like that's not for me. And it's just based on the experiences that they want to be able to have with it.
So when looking into a strain that's going to be able to get you to an elevated mood, whatever you're trying to be able to accomplish, look at this strain as a productive strain, as a happy strain, as a social strain where you're not going to be giggly, you're going to have a little bit of dry mouth. But overall? This is good if you just want to have, like, a really good connected conversation with your partner, your friend, your spouse.
Like, maybe it's just been a weird week and you know, like this is a just a nice it doesn't displace you in any way. No, Feels really good. Yeah, it'd be 100% present. And like, yeah, I think it would be a really good experience to share that. Yeah, I think this is amazing. Yeah, check it out. Go to your local dispensary or your plug, or maybe you're even growing it. Fantastic. Grow some Moby Dick. Yeah, Grow some Moby Dick in in your little plant house or in
