Episode description

Bubba Kush: Cozy Coffee Calm with Classic Kush Depth

Cannabinoid Profile:

Bubba Kush is a legendary indica — pure couch-lock royalty — often testing between 17–22% THC, landing right in the sweet spot for deep relaxation without an overwhelming fog. CBD is minimal (under 1%), but the full-body effects come through the rich terpene lineup and its famously sedative profile.

Terpene Lineup:

Bubba Kush leans heavy on myrcene, the soothing herbal note that sets up its signature body melt. Caryophyllenebrings a peppery spice that doubles as a stress reliever, while pinene and limonene add subtle pine and citrus hints that brighten the flavor and tame the heavy hit.

Flavor & Aroma:

Crack the jar and you’ll catch earthy coffee and sweet chocolate right away, balanced with a touch of spicy kush funk and fresh pine. The smoke is creamy, slightly nutty, and leaves that warm herbal sweetness lingering on your tongue.

How It Hits:

Bubba Kush rolls in slow and steady: a soft, warm buzz starts behind the eyes and drips down into a heavy body stone. It quiets mental chatter, melts stress, and has you feeling like your couch is the best place on Earth. It’s not a strain for errands — but for movies, naps, or late-night unwinding, it’s perfect. Overdo it, and you might wake up halfway through your snack run.

Good For:

Bubba Kush is a go-to for sleep troubles, anxiety, muscle tension, and chronic pain. It’s the definition of “wind down and shut the world off” — especially on those nights when your brain won’t chill on its own.

Looks & Grow Notes:

Expect tight, chunky buds with deep forest green and purple hints, blanketed in frosty trichomes and rusty orange hairs. Indoors, she flowers in about 8–9 weeks, with a sweet, earthy aroma that true kush fans crave.

Cannabis School’s Take:

Bubba Kush is classic comfort in flower form. Rich flavor, reliable calm, and the kind of full-body exhale that makes you remember why indica loyalists keep this strain in the stash year-round. Light it, sink in, and let the world wait till tomorrow.

For all our Outdoor Adventures, did I mention the extra 20% off and the Kohl's cash I got? So yeah, not sure what I love more ball deals or fall weather. Select Styles, 20% offer ends, October 3rd, some exclusions apply see store or kohls.com for details.

Welcome to cannabis school. I'm your host Jessie Angeles and I'm Brandon Elder and we're here to talk to you about everything pertaining to cannabis from bait, flower Edibles, strains and everything in between. Well, it's Tuesday, everybody. Welcome back to the podcast. We're so excited that you're able to come and join us today. You know, we are overwhelmed, we

feel so excited. We're so supported by our community and people wanting to be able to learn but more now they find what we're doing is exceptional. Yeah, we appreciate the listeners, any feedback we would love. Share follow like us. That's all we ascribe. So what we're doing here? All right, so the strain we're getting in today. Brandon. What are we? What are we going to discuss? Oh, we're going to talk about Bubba, Kush, Bubba, Kush, Bubba Kush.

Yeah, Bubba Kush Jesse. This is a strain. You recently found. Yeah. Yeah. It's a, it's really good now. I tried it only in The Vape, but I know that you've tried it with in the flower form and man, I'm excited to be able to learn a little bit more. About this. So take us through the Bubba, Kush, man. Like, you know, give us give us the profile. Yeah, Corso Bubba Kush is a heavy Indica. It's originally from an l.a. breeder, Matt Berger in the

1990s. So Bubba Kush is a mixture of OG Kush and Northern Lights, or a Northern Lights phenotype. Basically, this strain, you'll get smells The vague coffee or cocoa hints with slight fruity undertones? Yeah, fruity, undertones. That's what I tasted in the, in the Vape form. But man, I gotta tell you, it hits you right in the head real quick, you know, some strains that I tried. You'll feel it like hitting the shoulders or a little bit in the face.

But this one hits you right in the middle of your brain. That's how I fight in the forehead. I would say like right in the middle and I'm sure you could expand upon it. It makes you really chill. So it's really good. I know, we've talked about a lot of strains that give you the relaxation to help a thing xiety. But this one is a little bit more focused on that. When you say yeah, with Bubba Kush, you're going to feel a lot more relaxed.

Happy uplifted in high doses. You'll feel sleepy starts like, said in the head and then it'll settle down into your body. Or yeah, I noticed that kind of the best way to be able to describe it would be if you could put relaxation into a giant jug and then slowly pour it over your head and then it just slowly starts to go down your body almost like a gel form. Like, I know that's so descriptive. I was just imagining coffee. As I'm sipping it going through my entire body.

That's how I feel. That's the description you're putting there in my mind. Yeah, it's great for relaxation and some people suffer from having difficulties going to sleep. I was telling you about it last night. I've been, I'm going on a break for caffeine for a few days and my body is just too much into that one. And I actually had used to Bubba Kush last night just to, finally, get me to relax enough so I can fall asleep. So can you use Bubba Kush to

fall asleep on top? Of course, I mean your experience. It definitely worked for you by other users. As well are using it in larger. Doses depending on their tolerance that helps them sleep too. It's also used for anxiety. Great, for exercise or sex. It's used for depression, loss of appetite great. Strain for a lot of use and that's the thing, too. With cannabis, I would say that the indica, Variety is more geared towards those who are having difficulties with nausea, upset stomach.

They've been either, there are certain type of medication, they're on. That's making them feel that way. Of course we, you know, you hear about it all the time. Cancer trade, you treatment with patients. They'll take cannabis with it, just so they could be able to eat because it's so rough on the body. But can you speak to a little bit on that one? Why, why do we feel hungry? Depends on the terpene on the strain.

I'm some of them have cannabinoids were terpenes that actually causes loss of appetite. Like this one that typically is found that you're not as hungry. There's other strains that have an increase of appetite. Like you said for cancer patients it's a lot more commonly used in their treatment that way they can actually overcome the nausea the pain from chemo so they can still eat and somewhat live a decent quality of life.

Yeah. Yeah. I like the profile I've noticed that was Certain, and we're talking about a deep indica and that deep Indica, meaning that it's pretty fast acting almost instantaneous that you feel it in the head. The nice thing is, it's not a couch locked, strain, it's more of a, you know, you're able to focus have conversations everything like that. It's not one of those strains that makes you become one with couch. It's a great strain to use even

in a group setting. Yeah, one thing that I have noticed about sativas Means compared to Indica strains is exactly what Brandon brought up the higher dose of an Indica strain. I'm going to be a little bit more hungry, but on the sativas side and it's different. If, if I have a vape or maybe flower, I still get, I get the munchies a little bit, but on a say, like a teacher, not at all, I am 100%. I don't get the cottonmouth. That's another thing that we should talk about.

About is the side effect. That's very common with any cannabis use which is the dreaded dry mouth. You will get dry. Mouth feels like you have a lot of cotton inside your mouth. Drink a lot of water. It's common. Most people get that I do with Edibles, that's where I feel it. A lot is when my edible kicks in, that's how I can tell that it's kicked in. Usually, I don't feel overly High, I just don't feel it, I

feel less pain. So at that moment, I can tell it's kicked in because while one, my pains not Hi and to I have dry mouth. Yeah, absolutely. So when talking about Bubba Kush, you can find this pretty much anywhere, but because she's a very, it's a very common strain. Would you say, yeah? That's why it's Brad. You'll find it all over the u.s., yeah. Anywhere from, if you're listening to this from California mean, yeah,

absolutely. You're being able to find this in a million dispensaries that are there, but you can also be able to find It in Colorado, Arizona. You can even find it in Utah throughout the Midwest to its. You have those legal states through there. There's dispensaries that carry Bubba Kush, it's pretty well known. Strain.

Yeah, it's a wonderful strain. The tones of that one, take you through that Brandon, if I smoke it in the flower form, this is going to be pretty rough but because she's a lot, it's a smooth smooth, strain. The notes are flavors that you'll get when smoking it. You get a little bit spicier, like, peppery, Woody. Earthly, with some slight cocoa, undertones, or coffee, undertones when you smell the flower, and be aware if you're using flour. First, which we always recommend, right?

Low and slow. But when you're using that, you're not going to taste these undertones I should say, right away. Not as a newbie. You're not going to taste anything except burning plant. If you been into canvas for years, you've been into a longer you're going to be able to taste more of these undertones. There's Notes, as always remember, you're going to get the most flavor out of the very first hit. Very first light that first ignition. It's not quite burning as much of it.

You get a lot more of the actual flavor in the flower form. Our is this one more of the dryer end or is this more on the little bit more wet and that's going to depend on where you get it. If you are of course West Coast

it will be a lot. Stickier made you go more Midwest. You at dry all of our flowers through Out ranges out here is a lot drier than you'll find on the coasts so it really depends on where you're at but overall I'd say it's a pretty sticky nug covered in a lot of trichomes you'll see that it is green with some purple hints in there. You won't get great flavors surprisingly from that even though it does have those purple undertones doesn't have the

great be flavor. And there are there are strains that have a very strong grapey profile. I'll like it when yo yo man I can actually taste that and that's through the beauty of Science and ethno botany and you know, cross-pollinating different types of strains. That's why we have the strains we have today and that's why it's so awesome for us because we get to be able to go through all of these with you on the scale flower real easy to be able to get this. As a strain on The Vape side.

I would say any type of Vape cartridge it's pretty easy to find as well. I agree. So, In vapor form again. Great, good stuff over there. It's you're going to find it a little bit higher. It's going to be an 80% in up again, you know, with your higher percentages over there. Your flower is going to be lower your Vape. It's going to be higher edible, I have never tried an edible in that one. Brandon, you try an edible and Bubba Kush? No, not, yeah. Well again, so an edible form.

Remember that you should wait on that now. Not necessarily jump right into using Edibles. They are delicious. They are easy to consume. You don't have the smoke but be careful since they're easy to consume. You can consume more than you think. And on top of it, it's slightly different feel and takes longer. So that's where the frustration for people come in again. Make sure that you're being safe

with this. So we typically say flower Vape edible, there are other It's out there but those by far those are the first three that we always recommend getting involved into and as always, be careful, look out for anxious feelings or racing heartbeat, that is something to be aware of that

does happen. That's nothing to be overly alarmed with just something to be aware of and don't let that affect your cannabis experience, period, where you're like II, don't like this and it's, it's just not for me. There are so many strains out there and some of them fit really well with you, some of them, don't think of it more like on food. Not everybody wants to eat every

single thing. Well, there are those who want to eat everything, but with cannabis be more of a kind of sore pick out which strain is going to work for you best. Yeah, find a strain. That works for you. He said not, everyone eats every food. Most people don't, every strain is not for everyone. There's a thing called Rick Simpson Oil or RSO we'll cover that in another episode. That is closer to 12:38 on CB d 2 T ratio. So it's a lot higher dose of CBD. You don't get really any for you

because of the dosing. Yeah, so everything's different look and see if there's something that works for you. Bubba Kush might be that one. Well with that. Appreciate you guys joining with us and looking forward to being able to see you guys. Next Tuesday, have yourself a wonderful week. Yeah, have a great a week.
