¶ This Is That: Holy Spirit Outpouring
You're listening to a message taken from our camp meeting services at Family Worship Center and the Sun Life Broadcasting Network.
Open your Bibles tonight to Acts chapter two. Acts chapter two. Reading four verses beginning with verse number Fourteen. The word of the Lord said, But Peter Standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice and said unto them, Ye men of Judea and all you that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you and hearken to my word. For these are not drunken as you suppose, seeing it as but the third hour of the day, 9 a.m. in the morning. But this is that.
Which was spoken by the prophet Joel. And it shall come to pass in the last day, saith God. of my spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams. And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my spirit, and they shall prophesy. I don't know how many of you saw a couple of Sundays ago.
Our the service, the live service as the Spirit of God moved in the service. No one was able to preach. And we had a word from the Lord. And the Lord kept saying over and over, This is that. This is that. This is that. What we've been feeling from the very first note of camp meeting is this is that. the moving and the operation of the Holy Spirit. And when I heard that word
I'd already prepared half of this message and I knew what the title had to be, and I knew what the emphasis had to be. This is that. Want to try to pick up from what the Lord spoke to us in that service a couple of weeks ago. The Holy Spirit is being poured out. It's no longer when he's poor, it's happening now. I believe that service that we experienced was just a for the beginning of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
And I believe that those type of services are going to become more and more prevalent to where the Holy Spirit takes over and has his way. And he speaks to hearts. Because the Holy Spirit can do one can do more in one second. than all the sermons that you could hear in your heart and life. This is that. And as Gabri said, we are going to be praying for believers to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. And for every one of you here and every one of you watching and listening.
That you have not received, make up your mind tonight is my night. This is that. Father, we come before you in the name of your Son Jesus. We thank you for the spirit of the Lord that has moved in this camp meeting. And Lord, I don't know how many people here tonight. have not yet been baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues.
But whatever the number is, Lord, I'm asking that not one single person that comes forward would leave here tonight without receiving the mighty infilling of the Holy Spirit. I pray as well that this word would go out through the television, airwaves, radio, internet, through Facebook, Live. Lord, that you would touch hearts and lives all over the world, and that men and women, boys, girls, teachers. teenagers would be baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues.
And we give you all the praise and all the glory. And everybody said, Amen and amen. September of two thousand and I had a meeting scheduled in Detroit.
¶ My Childhood and Father's Anointing
Michigan
I really was not gonna be traveling that weekend. I blocked that weekend out because I was leaving A few days after that to go overseas and minister. And I I I try not to be gone the weekend before I go overseas. It's just very hard on the physical body. But when this invitation came, I I accepted it for a reason, and it was simply this I wanted to go back to Detroit. I know Detroit has gone through a hard time in the last few years.
But that city of Detroit is very special to me. We've had many, many meetings and crusades in the city of Detroit. The longest meeting that we ever had traveling from church to church was in Detroit. It was nine weeks long. The entire month of January, February, the little bit, well, the second week of January, all the until to the month of March. We were there nine weeks. at Brightmore Tabernacle, nineteen sixty-seven, fifty one years ago.
It was freezing cold. Actually, I went to school there for nine weeks. I I went to um thirty two schools. In the span of four years. Matter of fact, the other day, I was cleaning some things out in one of the drawers at the house, and I hadn't looked in it in a long time, and I heard something rattling around in a box, and I opened it up, and I found a whole stack of report cards. from schools that I had no recollection.
And cities that I could not remember ever being in. And that's when you know you've traveled too much. When you can't remember any I'm looking like I never knew I went to school in Peoria, Illinois. I never remember I don't remember going to school in whatever that town in Florida was, I don't remember now.
But I was raised on the road and you know, I I don't really say I've said some about my formative years, but I haven't really told everything about my testimony, and I'm not going to do that tonight except for this one little story. Being raised on the road and being raised in church almost every single night, we average over 300 nights a year in church. That's the way that I was raised. Let me tell you.
As I got into my later teenage years, Satan made a play for my life. But I'm convinced that it was the way that I was raised. Going to church night after night after night that kept me. And I'm so glad that I'm saved and baptized in the Holy. Let me tell you, I saw so much traveling. I don't think I could backslide. I don't think I could ever say I saw too much.
I saw the power of God move. I saw people get saved. I saw people baptized in the Holy Spirit. I mean, I saw drunks literally, they staggered in drunk. staggered down to the aisle and when God got through with them, they walked out saved, born again, and sober from the top of their head to the soles of their feet. And I can't I don't really know how to articulate or say this, but I I know From a young age that there was something different. About my father.
I would lay, I've never been a good sleeper. I don't sleep much. I I sleep about four hours a night. And somebody said, Can you live on that? No. So I go until I pass out and I sleep about eleven or twelve hours and it start the cycle all over again. But I would set In those services. And I would watch Dad as he would play and sing and and I could you know I knew there was something different about his singing and his play.
It was not something I you it was more than what you heard, it was what you felt. It was what you I knew there was something different about his singing. He would sing songs that other people would sing, and it was just different. It was something, it was not, once again, it's not so much what you heard, it's what you felt. Matter of fact, a few years ago I had some dear friends of mine that live in Virginia, and they are uh fundamental Baptists.
And if you don't know anything about fundamental Baptists, they're opposed to everybody. And they went to one of the largest fundamental Baptist churches in America. And they used to do some work for us and we were having a crusade nearby where they lived and they were there and And after the service they took me out to eat. I'll never forget the conver we were just talking about things and all of a sudden one of them dropped his fork and said, I I don't understand it. I said, What?
He said, We sing the same songs y'all sing. But when we sing them, I don't feel nothing. But when y'all sing them, chill bumps breaks out all over. What is that? I said, that's what you don't believe in. The mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit, the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Traveling church to church to church and I would come home from church services and I would lay in the bed. Mother taught me correspondence for four years, first grade, and four, and then for the next four years.
I changed schools, public schools, eight schools a year, thirty two schools in four years. Needless to say, my childhood was not normal. It was abnormal. And I don't recommend it for anyone, but I wouldn't change one thing about it. I would not change one thing about it. And I I got saved very young. I'm so thankful that all my kids got saved when they were young.
I'm so thankful they got baptized in the Holy Spirit. Gabriel was eight years old when he was filled. Matthew was eight years old when he was filled. Jennifer was 13 when she was filled. And hearing Dad, and Dad preached on the Holy Spirit, I saw people. Baptize in the Holy Spirit. And I would in my own way I I as a little boy I I wanted this experience But yet, even though I was raised in it for some reason, I just could not seem to push through.
¶ My Baptism in the Holy Spirit
I would ask the Lord. I would go down to the altar sometimes and pray. I I would I would and I couldn't I just didn't seem to be able to make any headway and I really didn't understand why. And for some reason, in a very immature mind, a young mind that hasn't been formed yet, you get wild thoughts in your mind. And I begin to think, well, I'll never get it. Now I understand I'm talking I'm 10, 11, 12 years old. But I was desperate. I wanted to be baptized in the Holy Spirit.
And let me tell you something. That's the way some of you are here tonight. You may not be ten, eleven, or twelve, you may be seventy. But you're desperate. You're desperate. I got good news for you. Revelation always precedes desperation. Hallelujah. And we came to Detroit, Bright Moor Tabernacle. Nine week revival and God began to move.
I mean that church was jammed night after night after night. I I'll never forget one of the funniest things and and let me tell you, if it can happen, it will happen in church. And before I tell that story, I'm go back. I the the the Saturday morning of the when I was in Detroit two years ago preaching and the pastor said, Is there anything you want to do? I said, Yes. You're gonna take me and help me find The old Brightmoor Tabernacle.
He goes, Well I I I said, Have you heard of it? Go, Oh yes, everybody's heard of the Brightmore Tabernacle, but it's it's not there anymore. They've moved I said, No, I want to find the original building. He goes, well, I don't know if I know where that was. And I started digging, and miracle of miracles, I found the old address.
And when I showed it to him, he said, Are you sure that's where you want to go? I said, Why? He said, That's the middle of gangland. And I said, Well, it's broad daylight. And we started driving down and was it Woodward Avenue? I believe it was Woodward Avenue. I still remember the street. And we were riding down Woodward and he was saying, brother, this is not a safe spot. This is dangerous. I said, it's broad daylight. We're okay. He got no brother. It's dangerous. And we got God with us.
We got the Holy Spirit with us. And all of a sudden, I saw the building. Now it was never built like a church. Matter of fact, when you drove by it, if you hadn't seen the sign, you would have thought it was an office building. That's the way the front was built. Built, I said, that's it right there. That's it. I said, pull around. I want to see if I can get in.
We pulled around to the back and there was one car, and there was a sign above the door, offices close on Friday and Saturday, and I said, Well There's one car here, so somebody must be here, and there was a doorbell, a buzzer. And I kept pushing that buzzer and finally I heard somebody rustling in the church and the door opened and there was a a it was an African American church now, African American Baptist Church and this man opened the door and here I am a white guy.
Where there were no white people. And he looked at me and said, what do you want? And I said, sir, I would like to come in just for a moment and look at the church. He said, why? It's just a church. I said, not to me. He goes, well, you know, I'm not no, I gotta go. I'm working. You know, you just go. And I said, excuse and I thought I'm gonna lose my I said, sir, have you ever heard of Jimmy Swagger? I don't ever like to drop names, but sometimes it helps.
He goes, Yeah, I've heard of Jimmy Swagger. I said, Well, I'm his son. And he went And he said, okay. I said, we held a nine week revival in this church. And I just want to come in because it's very special to me. And I walked in, he said, okay. And I walk and I I don't know what was wrong with it. I guess he thought I was going to steal something because he was stuck to my hip. And I walked in and the auditorium was just like I remember it.
He wouldn't, he would not let me walk over the entire really he said, okay, that's enough. You can go leave. Now, I mean I don't know what they were doing in the back. I don't I don't why he didn't want me up. But I kept looking until I found the door. That was right past on as you're facing the stage, stage left, and there was a door there that led to the Sunday school department where the rooms were. And it was through that door.
In one of those Sunday school rooms on a Tuesday night in nineteen sixty seven. of that nine week revival as God began to move. I found myself on my knees in that Sunday school room because the crowds had overflowed. That's where people were sitting. And I was back in one of those, and God baptized me in the Holy Spirit. with the evidence of speaking with other tongues. Fifty-one years ago and he's never left me.
He's never left me. He's never left me. I strayed for a while, but he didn't leave me. He kept pulling me. He kept telling, you're not going to hell. You're not going to serve the devil. You're going to preach the gospel. Hallelujah. And I remember in that meeting, the crowds, it was jammed and it was freezing cold outside, snowing and and and I remember one night, it was a Friday night.
¶ Revival Power: Transforming Lives
And there was only two seats left in the whole place, and they were right on the front row. And a man and his woman uh his what woman a w his wife Knock on wood. Well I hope it was his wife. But they were they had formal evening clothes on. Now I've heard of people dressing up for church, but you don't need to wear a tuxedo. And she had on an evening dress and they walked in and the usher said, We've got no more seats left except two. Come with me.
And they walked him down the aisle and set him down on the front row. And the service started, and it didn't take but five minutes to realize they did not know where they were. What had happened was they were going to a a uh a formal dinner. And they were not that familiar with that part of town back then. And they saw all the crowd walking into Bridmore Tabernacle, and they thought that's where the dinner is. So they parked their car, walked in and got ushered down to the front row.
And as Dad began as as the service started and singing and all the music, the praise and worship, the special music and the preaching, they were sitting on the front row and the whole service, all he did was And after the service, he came walking up on the platform. His eyes were that big, and he looked at Daddy. He said, I don't know who you are, and I don't know what this is, but I've never
felt anything like this in my life. Oh hallelujah. It wasn't talent. It wasn't a man's ability. It wasn't someone's ability to preach a sermon, but he felt the power of the third member of the triune Godhead, the Holy Spirit. God, we need the Holy Spirit to fall in our churches. Hallelujah! Glory to God! Without the Holy Spirit, you can't have church. Without the Holy Spirit, the preacher can't preach. The singer's songs are no good.
Oh, they may titillate the flesh, but they will not touch the heart. But if the presence of God is in the house, somebody is gonna get saved. Somebody's gonna get healed. Somebody's gonna get delivered. Somebody's gonna get baptized in the Holy Spirit. Another night in that revival. I don't know who this guy was, but Daddy it back then he would have uh he would have them fill up a glass of water.
And he would set it in the edge of the piano on the inside of it, and as he was preaching he would Walk over and grab a little drink. After the service. This guy comes up, thinks he's sneaking on the platform, but people are watching. And he kind of Ele pensou que era vodka! Oh, hallelujah. Well let me tell you, it wasn't just any water. It was water that flows from the throne room of God, the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah. All right, I gotta get going. I don't want to take up too much time.
The Holy Spirit is the beginning of life. There is no spiritual life without the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit, church is just religion. It's formal. It is nothing that touches and moves. See what we've got to understand is that when people walk through the doors of a church, there are problems in their life. Their hearts are broken. Their lives are messed up. Some of them, their marriage, is on the verge of collapse. Some of them have just gotten a negative word from their doctor.
Some of them are facing financial disasters. Some of them are bound by drugs, bound by alcohol, bound by pornography, bound by homosexualism and lesbianism. And listen, religion will not Anybody free. It takes the anointing and the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank God I'm Pentecostal. Thank God I'm Pentecostal. Thank God I am Pentecostal. Now I don't wanna I don't wanna re Gable preached half my sermon this morning, so
So I'm not going to repeat everything, but there is a couple of things that I do want to touch on. There are several things that our non-Pentecostal brothers and sisters, they just don't understand.
¶ Why Every Believer Needs the Holy Spirit
And I hear it all the time. First one is, well, I I really don't need it. Now think about that. What they're saying is I really don't need God. That's what they're saying. I I really don't need the help. And my answer is always the same. And I always get the strangest looks when I reply that. I said, okay, that's you're saying that you don't need anything else. I don't need that Holy Spirit stuff. Well, that's very interesting. I said, if Jesus Christ is a man Flesh and blood. Born of a woman.
If Jesus Christ had to have the anointing of the Holy Spirit. How much more do we than a poor, pitiful, flawed, screwed up, messed up? Human beings need the help of the Holy Spirit, for the Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for He has anointed me to preach the gospel. It was the anointing of the Holy Spirit upon Jesus Christ that cast out death. Demons that opened blinded eyes, that saw the death here, the lame walk, and the dead raised. None of those miracles was done as deity, but as a man.
Oh.
Full of the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah. Then I hear him, well, you know, Gabriel touched them this morning, but well, I got it all. When I get saved, let me tell you something. I don't care if you live to be 150 years old, you'll never get all that God has. And this is what I always tell him, I said, Well, you know, that's very so you're saying that when you got saved, you got everything the Lord has to offer?
Okay. I said, well, in Acts two Among the hundred and twenty that got filled Yeah I d this why they're this way always said yeah so I said well were they not already born again? Yes. Then they the light comes on and they don't want to answer. Well, I uh I no, are they safe? Yes. Then what did they get? I mean, I make them answer the question. What did they get? So no, you don't get it all at conversion. We are born of the Spirit waiting to be baptized.
With the Holy Spirit and the evidence of speaking with us. I'm I'm cutting things short here. Alright. Acts two. The past that whole chapter. It is more than just the account of what happened on the day of Pentecost, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. There's two key points. Number one, it was the fulfillment of Bible prophecy. Isaiah, first of all, 750 years. Before Acts 2, prophesied and said, With stammering lips and other tongues will I speak unto my people. For this is the rest.
And this is the refreshing. Hallelujah! And then Joel, Gabriel read it to you today. That was his text. Chapter 2 of Joel. He talked about that in the last days, our friend. Then he talked about the former rain and the latter rain. And many people don't understand that the Lord was speaking through him using an agricultural rain. Explanation. The former reign, the latter reign, had to do with the two times of the year that Israel received rain.
For when they would plant their crops, and then after the rain would come, the crops would grow, and then they would harvest. The former reign, spiritually speaking, is speaking of what happened in Acts 2 when the Holy Spirit was poured out. The latter reign is referring to what happened.
¶ Global Spread of the Holy Spirit
In the turn of the 20th century, first in Wichita, I mean in uh Topeka, Kansas. When in old uh uh that little Bible school called Zion's Folly, and uh they were studying the book of Acts. Good things happen when you read the book of Acts. I said, good things read happen when you read the book of Acts. And Brother Durham, who was the head of the Bible school, he said, December came, he said, I'm going for a month to preach meetings. I want everyone to study the book of Acts.
And when I come back, we're going to discuss whether or not that the events of Acts are for today. We're going to discuss whether speaking in tongues is for today. And about a week or two uh after he had gone. Late, late, almost on the edge of midnight, going into the brand new year. A young lady that was a student in that school, Agnes Osman.
She'd closed the book. She had just finished reading the entirety of the book of Acts. She made up her mind in her own heart that it was for today. She knelt down, lifted her hands, and said, Lord, I want it. And God baptized her in the Holy Spirit. That's the first known recording in the 20th century of someone being baptized in the Holy Spirit, and it would lead to 1906 of the great Azusa Street.
Outpouring, hallelujah! That is the latter rain, and we're still enjoying the benefits of that latter rain outpouring. But that's not all. There's still more to come. Hallelujah. And I read it to in the last days. I will pour out of my spirit. So it's prophecy. Secondly. Acts 2 is where the church was born. The church was born on the day of Pentecost. The Lord told those, first, Paul said there was about 500 that viewed the ascension. The Lord, before he left, the last word.
We know that he spoke before he ascended to the Father was found in Acts 1. He said, Go to Jerusalem and tarry and wait for the promise. Of the Father. What was the promise of the Father? The baptism in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. Hallelujah. And then he would say, and you shall receive power.
After that, the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you shall be witnesses. And that word doesn't mean knocking on doors and telling people about Jesus. The word witnesses means martyr. You'll be a martyr. Both in Jerusalem, Judea, and in the uttermost parts of the earth. And that part has come true. The Holy Spirit fell then, but it's not contained to one geographic location, but I don't contain.
What country you go in today, if there's more than ten people saved, I guarantee there's somebody baptized in the Holy Spirit. What long ago? I've always yeah, I I've been to China. And I remember when we were there actually we were there when they were just Opening the door to allow Westerners to come. Matter of fact, there were no hotels. They were putting tourists in
apartments complexes that had been built by the Russians for their workers that helped build China. And now they were gone and that's where you were they would put that there were no locks on the door. I don't like that I even asked him, I said, well, well, I need to lock my door. I said, no, you don't need to worry about anything. I said, well, somebody may try to break in. He said, no, no, you don't need to worry about anything. I said, well, why don't I need to worry? Because we'll kill them.
You don't have to worry, we kill them. And they didn't understand the concept of throwing things away. I'm a reader and I had finished reading a book one night when we got back from our tour and I threw it in a garbage can. When I came in the next day, the book was out of the garbage can on the bed. I picked it up, put it back in the garbage can. The next day when I came in it was back out of the garbage can and on the bed. And we were in Shanghai. And we were filming. And mother
Saw a young man and they were all they they were most of them had never seen Westerners. And they would just come up to you and want to practice their English. And I remember mother pulled a young man. We have the video footage. I should have had him pull it, but I didn't think about it. And she brought this young Chinese boy on camera and she said, Have you ever heard of Jesus Christ? And he said, Jesus Christ? No.
I've never heard of Jesus Christ. Who is Jesus Christ? And mother began to try to explain to him that he was God. And you could tell he he didn't understand. And from that point on I'd always wondered, God, how can they get saved? How can they get baptized in the Holy Spirit? Are is there anyone in China who 1.1 billion people baptized in the Holy Spirit.
It wasn't long after that I was preaching a meeting in Georgia, and I was staying in the house of a young man that I'd gone to school with. He was the best man in my wedding. And I was preaching at the church that he was the minister of music. And Saturday morning we got up and he said, hey, I've got something I want to show you. I said, what? He said, it's a videotape. I said, a videotape of what? He said, one of the missionaries that we support.
Just got back from China and I said, oh, I'd love to see it. And he pushed it in the VHR, turned it on, and he was in the back of a truck, and there were scores of trucks driving out of some particular city in China. And they had a video camera on him and he said, I I can't tell you where we're going. Because it has to be kept secret, but we're going out into the wood. And we're going to have a church service. And I'm preaching on the baptism in the Holy Spirit.
And I'm going to pray for Chinese believers to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. And then they got to their location, they cut the filming off, and they started it back, and they didn't show much of the outlying area because they were trying to keep everything as secretive as possible. And then he began, it really was toward the end, and they, you know, the Chinese are very reserved. They're not really emotional until they get emotional.
He got through preaching through an interpreter. He said, Now I want to pray for you to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. It was about 200 of them. They all were standing there. He said, I want everybody to raise. And he and what shocked me. He gave the almost word for word the same instructions we give. And then when he got through giving the instructions, he he only had a couple of people with him to pray.
And he started praying and he started laying hands on him. And at first I'm just wondering nothing's happening, but all of a sudden, before I heard it on the tape, I felt it in my spirit. I could feel it coming. And all of a sudden I heard somebody off camera scream. And that camera turned around, and it was the first Chinese woman that I saw on that tape to go through to the baptism in the Holy Spirit.
And all of a sudden, another one, and then another one, and then another one, and then another one, and then another one, and I'm telling you, they started shouting. They started dancing. They started laughing. They were crying. They were praying. It was just like here. Hallelujah. Oh, I gotta hurry. Okay. I gotta hurry up. I hurry up. Singers, musicians, make your way back because I'm not gonna be long.
¶ A True Church and Pentecostal Crossroads
For you to be For your church to be a true New Testament church, it has to be a Book of Acts church. If your church does not have the earmarks of the Holy Spirit. You're not going to a Book of Acts church. You're not going to a New Testament church. What are those earmarks? Preaching under the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ being lifted and glorified. Sick bodies being healed, demon spirits being cast out, believers being baptized in the Holy Spirit.
Praise and worship like you've never heard before. Corporate praying, corporate singing. Oh, this is one you don't like. Persecution. If you're truly filled with the Holy Spirit, the world is not gonna like you. And if you're going to a church that's trying to be friends with the world, you can forget about it. We're not friends with the world. We don't want to be friends. You'll never go to the most popular church, but you can go to the most spiritual church. All right here. Next point.
The Pentecostal Church, and when I say that I'm speaking primarily of our Pentecostal denominations, Assembly of God. Church of God. Four square. Pentecostal holiness, church of God in Christ, and the list goes on and on. They're at a crossroads today. Now some of you may not agree with what I'm about to say or believe what I'm about to say, but I I know my facts. I know what I'm about to say is right. I've seen the numbers.
There is not a single Pentecostal denomination in America that can now boast of a minimum of 50% of their membership being baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. The average number is about 37% when you factor it all in. And the reality is, to say you're something, you've got to have at least 51%. And we're at a crossroads. Now notice I said we, even though I'm not a part of denominationalism and all that, I am a classic Pentecostal. I'm not a charismatic.
I'm not charismatic. I am a classic Pentecostal. I was raised in the assemblies of God and I'm not ashamed of that. I went to an assembly of God, Bible College. I got baptized in the Holy Spirit in an assembly of God church. I married an assembly of God girl. Hey Debbie. That's my wife right there, Debbie. Wave at everybody so she can see. I forgot to introduce her before service. Oh, I thank God for my assembly of God heritage.
But the assemblies of God of 2018 is not the assemblies of God that I was born in and I was raised in. They're at a crossroads. They've got to make a decision. We're either going to be Pentecostal. Are we gonna walk away from what made us great, what made us powerful, what exploded across this world and saw thousands of churches, but it wasn't through John Maxwell's leadership seminars.
It was not through church growth seminars. It was through the power and the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah. It was a man and a woman going to a town. That had never heard a Pentecostal message and stretching a tent and preaching every single night. Sometimes the drunks and the town roughs would come out. Many stories of dragging an evangelist out of a tent.
and beaten em, tore and feathering them, and whipping them with a whip and chasing them out of town. But I've never read one time Where that happened that that preacher did not turn around. And say, I'm not leaving. You can kill me, but I'm not leaving. And God would raise up a church. Hallelujah. They've got to make a decision. And that decision is we're either going to be like the world or we're going to be Pentecostal. Now I don't know what the future holds for these denominations.
But I do have this to hold on to. The word of the Lord said ask the question, can these can these dry bones live again? Can these dry bones live again? And the word of God says, yes, those dry bones, can I relieve revival? It's coming. Oh I gotta hurry. We gotta have what would I spoke this is that we gotta have it we can't live without it This is that which moved upon the face of the waters at creation. This is that which guided Abraham.
Help Moses. Watched over Joseph. This is that which came upon David. What he faced Goliath. And he said, You come against me with a sword, a shield, and a spear, but I come against you. It's a name! In the name, in the name, in the name of the Lord God of Israel.
¶ Defining the All-Encompassing Holy Spirit
The world
Shall know there is a God in Israel! Oh hallelujah.
Thank you.
This is that which empowered Samson and inspired holy men of old to write the Bible. This is that which is symbolized by oil for the anointing, a dove for meekness, water for life. Wind for power, fire for purification. This is that which is eternal. Omnipotent. Omnipresent and omniscient. This is that which is a rest and a refreshing to the saint and a sign to the unbeliever. This is that which edifies the Christian, helps you to pray.
And as a divine means of communication. This is that which instructs men, gives wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, and lifts up a standard against Satan. This is that which anointed Christ. Proceeds from both the Father and the Son, teaches men, and brings all things to remembrance. and imparts power to the believer. This is that which works miracles, imparts gifts to men, and is a source of hope and provides access to God.
This is that which gives fellowship and strengthens the inner man. This is that which magnifies Jesus Christ, illuminates truth. Creates and multiplies and is the promise of the Father. This is that which is the Spirit of God, the Spirit of Counsel, the Spirit of Truth, the Spirit of Wisdom, the Spirit of knowledge. This is that which was Israel's cloud by day and their fire by night. This is that Which opened the Red Sea, pushed down Jericho walls, and this is that which raised Jesus Christ.
From the dead, victorious over death, victorious over sin, victorious over hell, victorious over the death. This is that and this is what I want. Stand to your feet.
