Episode description

Suffering is at the heart of the Christian faith. From the way Jesus came, and became, like us and redeemed us to also the way we become like Him and experience His redemption. That being in mind, it means that our suffering, despite its painfulness, is also filled with purpose and usefulness. We live in a time which the ancient idea of suffering's "usefulness" is resisted. The fact is "people need adversity, setbacks, and perhaps even trauma to reach the highest levels of strength, fulfillment, and personal development. Romans 5 sums it up: "suffering produces endurance, endurance produces character, character produces hope". The way god infuses purpose into suffering is that He uses sufferings to prepare us for an eternal glory.
