Episode description

Asaph is a little-known doubter in the Bible. Not as well-known as Thomas, Sarah, or John the Baptist, but in many ways Asaph has the corner on this subject. He is the doubter of record. He wrote the book on doubt- or at least a psalm about it. Psalm 73 is the record of Asaph's "Dark night of the soul". Charles Spurgeon called it "a great soul battle, a spiritual marathon, a hard and well-fought field, in which the half-defeated become in the end wholly victorious". Asaph shows us the ordinances of doubt; but he also shows us what it takes to settle our feet once again on a solid foundation of experienced faith.
