Knowing where you are now is important if you want to grow. This sermon is part of the "How to Grow" series based on the book by the same name. Looking at the church in Corinth we see how we must examine ourselves to know where we are in our own spiritual journey if we want to grow in our effectiveness.
The essence of growth is love for God and others
Spiritual growth: is it about God, or us? Spoiler: It's both. "Go beyond self-help. Don't be content with seeking information, a new approach, or superficial change. Don't settle for less than God desires. It's tragic when we succeed at the wrong goal. Our goal in growth must be nothing less than what God intends for us." (Darryl Dash)
Darryl Dash, Pastor and author of "How to Grow" joins us to introduce our new series.
Bill Thornton is the Lead Pastor at Flamborough Baptist Church. He brings a message titled, Soul Care.
As the series in Colossians comes to a close, what are the last words we're left with, and how do they impact us as we make Christ supreme in everything we do?
The Bible has a lot to say about living in right relationships.
Last week we learned that living as Christ followers means that are things we need to put away, and this week we discover the things we need to put on. Because we are God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, we are to live in such a way that we are reflecting His Spirit to those around us.
Christ is supreme in all things. It might be tempting to think that we should "be better people" because we can earn God's favour. But we put to death our sinful desires and put away sinful actions because we are part of God's new people! We do so because we are transformed by Christ.
What distracts you from following God? Colossians tells us to keep our eyes up and focused on Jesus, living in a manner worthy of our calling.
The Old Testament laws and regulations pointed to the fact that we needed a Saviour. That Saviour has now come, so don't let anyone tell you that you need to add anything to what Jesus has already done.
Understanding who Jesus is and what he did (and does!) guards us against falling for false substitutes.
The power of faithful ministry is that we use the gifts that God has given us, to be the people (the church) that He wants us to be.
It might cost you to be faithful, but a faithful minister counts the cost of gospel proclamation. Listen in as Pastor Aaron Groat talks about this challenging passage from Colossians 1.
Who is this Jesus, and why can he forgive sin and offer redemption?
Spiritual Growth isn’t easy but it’s expected! In this second message in the Christ is Supreme series, Pastor Aaron looks at how we are doing in the area of growing in Christ.
In this series we are looking at the supremacy of Christ as told throughout the book of Colossians. The first few verses give us a glimpse at the believers in Colossae and their faith in the gospel of truth.

God broke His own curtain to remove the divide between us and Him.
The angels’ song now becomes our song: "Glory to God in the highest!" Jesus came in a humble way and offers us peace. Humble yourself and receive Christ today, and be filled with peace.
Why do you need God? Luke 1 tells us that John would go before to prepare the hearts of the people and to remind them that God had not forgotten them.
As we lead up to Christmas, Pastor Aaron Groat brings a series titled, Christmas Playlist. It features four songs from the Bible about the birth of the Saviour, Jesus Christ. In today's message we look at Mary's Song from Luke Chapter 1. Mary helps us answer the question, "What is God like?"
Ian is the Pastor at Lightway Church in Hamilton. Today he answers the question, Why do I need the Bible? Is it relevant to my life? Can't I just follow my own truth? Listen to find out more about Proclaiming the Message.
Proverbs 31: an unattainable standard for wisdom, or a biblical picture of wise living?
Proverbs are precious promises from God. Or are they? Pastor Aaron talks about how we should read the book of Proverbs, and unpacks some common misconceptions.
Proverbs 8 and 9 finish setting the stage for the remainder of the book of Proverbs. In these two chapters we see that wisdom is a lifelong pursuit -- we are either gaining wisdom or losing it. Wisdom calls out to us, "Hear instruction and be wise."
Pastor Aaron continues with the Fool-Proofing Your Life series by looking at the wisdom of Proverbs 5–7. The Old Testament has a lot to say about the moral and spiritual implications of infidelity, and Jesus pushes it even further to make it a matter of the heart.
Embracing wisdom means embracing stability and serenity for the life-long journey ahead. Listen as Pastor Aaron continues the Fool-Proofing Your Life series based out of the book of Proverbs.
