Welcome to Calm Down with Carlos. Be sure to subscribe for more episodes. Let's get started. I don't really want to go to something dark, sometimes sad, maybe also have the feeling of loneliness. So listening to soundscapes such as rain forests, beaches, those sort of things allow us to focus on something other than our thoughts. Really understanding what we're listening to and focusing on the noise is what really helps you calm down and relax.

Otherwise you're just listening to a bunch of noise. If you turn off a sound scape and you feel better, and you weren't really listening to it the way that it was intended to be listened to. Let's take a moment and practice and playing a thunderstorm audio clip. I want you to listen to the sounds of the thunder, the rain, the splashing of the water. You may hear the wind, maybe even some crackling noises that could be perceived as a little fireplace.

If you listen closely, you can hear the rain hitting the roof. The thunder moving in and out. And listen to the rumble as if it's a roll in the ball. That's rotating around you 360 degrees. Feel it pulling in and out. Notice that there may be little sensations of wind that are blowing past your face. You're protected. Not wet, not in danger, but just relaxed. You also picture a large blanket. You pick it up, put it over your shoulders and wrap yourself inside.

Focus on your breathing, moving your breath in through your nose, inflating your stomach to bring in as much air as possible and holding it. And release. Make your nose aware of the situation as well. Think about what it smells like during a rainstorm. Is the thunder still rolling around you? Think about the individual rain drops and how they hit the floor around you. Making a splash that's ever so delicate. One rain drop alone is nothing. Add it with billions of other drops.

It fills your soul. Replenishing the earth. Replenishing yourself. I hope this episode brought you some tips and tricks to you when you listen to your next episode. Thanks again for joining. My name is Carlos and I really appreciate it you joining me today. See you soon. Bye. so
