Hisham Kassem is the founding president and publisher of the formerly privately-owned Al Masry Al Youm newspaper, and was the founder of Cairo Times newspaper, published out of Cyprus. He is a human rights defender and democracy activist, and was the head of the Egyptian Human Rights Organization in Cairo for approximately 10 years. Kassem was also the vice president of Al Ghad Party and is the recipient of the prestigious National Endowment for Democracy award for championing press freedom. In this podcast, Kassem discusses the state of media and the press in Egypt.  He currently lives in Egypt. This podcast is in Arabic. 

هشام قاسم هو مؤسس جريدة المصرى اليوم وكذلك مؤسس جريجة كايرو تايمز والتى كانت تطبع فى قبرص. قاسم ايضا من المدافعين عن حقوق الإنسان والديمقراطية فى مصر وكان رئيسا للمنظمة المصرية لحقوق الإنسان لمدة 10 سنوات. بالإضافة الى ذلك كان نائب رئيس حزب الغد. فى هذا الحوار الشيق يتحدث هشام قاسم عن أوضاع  الصحافة والصحفيين فى مصر حاليا.
