Episode description

Adrian Goldberg hears a dismayed reaction to the final report of the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse - or IICSA. The Inquiry was commissioned by Theresa May in 2014 after the Jimmy Saville scandal and was designed to investigate the systemic failures that allow abuse to happen and then be covered up - especially in institutions such as schools, the NHS and the BBC. One if its key recommendations is for a law on Mandatory Reporting of abuse but Tom Perry from Mandate Now – who has been of the most ardent supporters of legislation like this - is not happy. Produced in Birmingham by Adrian Goldberg and Harvey White. Funded by subscriptions to Byline Times. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information. Learn more about your ad choices.
